Problems Burning

Question

I normally use the "OneStep DVD from Movie..." feature under the "File" menu. But recently I was in the middle of burning a disc when I accidentally put my MacBook to sleep. So now whenever I try to burn a DVD, it appears to be going through the motions as if it's working, then it will eject the disc before it's done and the disc will be blank. I tried trashing the cache and preferences, but I still get the same problem.

how frustrating!
It sounds like some data settings have been created that iDVD is using to do the project, and that data isn't right. Here's an idea. Run iDVD but create another project using 'create new project'. Go in and choose a template menu, go in and add a movie, and then instead of burning (and wasting a disc), try "File/Save as disk image". See if it completes. If it does, now try to do your Onestep DVD.
I'm hoping that the data files and/or metadata that iDVD is being guided by will be recreated and/or initialized to let iDVD do it's work. good luck!
ps. another idea is to call AppleCare. I've done that with good results.
