Problems buying the Photography Package through Amazon

I tried to take advantage of Amazon's Black Friday promotion on the $9.99 photography package but have encountered nothing but roadblocks:
1) I ordered it through Amazon and got a confirmation/welcome email from Amazon
2) 30 minutes later, I got a second email from Amazon, saying that the subscription had been cancelled and that I had been refunded
3) In calling Amazon, I was told that the payment/subscription went through without a problem, but that their system showed that Adobe had cancelled the subscription. It was suggested that I try again.
4) I did, and experienced the identical sequence of events
5) I had a frustrating 39-minute chat with support. The first rep never seemed to understand the issue. The second rep promised to look into it, but couldn't promise to have it resolved before the Amazon promotion ended.
6) The chat crashed and the transcript has no case ID on it, so I have no way of knowing whether the issue is being escalated...other than starting a new chat, which I don't have the energy or patience to do.
I will call Amazon again (they asked me to if the problem recurred), but I'm now reconsidering even bothering with either Adobe or CC.

The issue has already been escalated by Amazon, which, frankly, seems to have a much more helpful and engaged customer service staff than Adobe does, if my experience so far is any indication. I spent 40 minutes in chat yesterday with two Adobe reps, with no discernible result, other than frustration, which is why I posted here. I spent most of my time with the first rep, who never seemed to have a clear idea what I was talking about. The person s/he passed me on to had a better grasp of the issue but promised only that he would pass my concern on. Before that could be confirmed, the chat session crashed. And although I'd had the foresight to request a transcript, the transcript itself did not include the case number, so I had no way of renewing the session, nor was I prepared to start again from scratch.
Here's the difference between Amazon customer service and Adobe's: Amazon immediately took ownership of the issue and promised to stay in contact with me until it was resolved. Adobe barely understood what I was talking about and took no ownership whatsoever of the issue. Clearly, it's neither strictly an "Amazon issue" nor is it strictly an "Adobe issue." Amazon took the order, but Adobe cancelled twice. Any resolution, however it is arrived at, will involve communication between the two companies. That Adobe was not prepared to initiate that contact suggests that if I ever do get the CC subscription going, I should not expect stellar customer service or support from the company.
All in all, my experience with Adobe was profoundly disappointing.

    No it's the same Photoshop .Photography program is just a temporary promotion pack with Photoshop and Lightroom  and it can end anytime .So you can buy Indesign and photography to have Indesign,Photoshop and Lightroom .

    When you buy the photography plan, you can choose to uninstall your existing "perpetually" licensed copy of Lightroom 5 and then have CC take over and install Lightroom through CC.  (You will still own the license you bought for lightroom and can use it on another computer or reinstall it if you choose to discontunue CC.)  Or you can leave it installed and not install Lightroom from CC.  The only potential downside of the latter is that Adobe might introduce new features only in the CC version, but I think that's less likely to occur with LR than with other CC apps.
    When I got CC (full, not photography edition), what I did was uninstalled the paid-for LR and installed LR from the CC app.  It picked up all of my installation features and my catalog, so it was seamless.

    I choose to use LP9 with Snow Leopard myself (10.6.8 and 9.1.6) for most of my commercial work simply because I find that combo very stable and provides the best overall performance for my setups here... but I am also using LPX with Mavericks as part of my client support and that works fine too although with a drop in performance due to the heavier demands made on the hardware by the newer OS X and LPX graphic routines for example..

    Both of you have registered the same email address for iMessage. If you were using a shared Apple ID and you updated your phones to iOS5, the default will be the Apple ID. Go into settings and change it.

    As of now, Captivate & In design can not be clubbed together. You can buy the CC complete package or go for single app.

    Yes, of course. They are separate things - while technically identical, there are simply different licensing models, but this is not in any way apparent in the demo versions.

    I've always found Adobe's website remarkably unhelpful on this point.
    It repeatedly promotes the fact that you get Photoshop + Lightroom in a single package - but minimal info on other inclusions.

    If you click buy, it takes you to a sub munu, where you can select either "Full or Upgrade".  Select Upgrade, then select the version you already have.  The upgrade price will then be displayed.

    I'm really puzzled by conflicting information regarding cloud storage. 2GB seems like a really tiny amount. I assume, therefore, that people must only use the package for editing photos and then must use another service to store them in the cloud, as 2GB surely only amounts to about 500 photos, which I'd use in a couple of days. What would people's typical workflow be?
    I'd read somewhere that there's unlimited lightroom web storage, but this seems not to be the case.

    Verizon only has stores based in the United States so the best method to order an upgrade will be through vzw.com. Only U.S. shipping addresses are accepted so if you have someone you trust to be able to accept your order/package then have it shipped to them and they can ship you the phone internationally. Other than travelling to the States to complete the transaction, this would be the best method to place your order. Keep in mind that upgrading the line will place it in a renewed two-year contract.  The phones are still in back order so I encourage you to place a working email address on your order so you can receive updated status on the transaction.

  • If I buy the photography plan can I have illustrator rather than lightroom?

    I'm a fashion design student and need photoshop on my own computer, however I have no need for lightroom so wondered if I could have illustrator instead? I wouldn't use the other CC apps if I bought the £15 a month full package so wouldn't want to spend an extra £7 on the whole package to only use those two?
