Problems by opening older files in newer versions
Hello,
I recently tried to open older GarageBand files I have created in GarageBand '08 by using newer versions such as GarageBand '09, respectively GarageBand '11.
I encountered the following error message by opneing the files in GarageBand '09 or '11:
EXS24 instrument "Grand Piano+Strings1.exs":
Audio file "16n7aD#3.wav" not found!
For those who have noticed a similar error message, installing iLife '08 FIRST and iLife '09 or iLife '11 AFTERWARDS has solved the problem!

Thanks for your reply. That's pretty much what I expected.
The backup didn't work for some reason.
I just don't understand why Apple won't let a person just buy iPhoto or any of the other apps separately. I don't need Garageband, don't need or use iDVD except for playing movies and the version I have is fine, I certainly don't use iMovie on this computer and iWeb?...I use Dreamweaver.
Anyway, if anyone at Apple is listening....split these up. People don't mind paying for software but they hate paying for software they don't need or want.

New MBP, itunes wont open because file is newer version
I got a new macbook pro tonight and sent my itunes over. When I try and open it says my itunes file is newer then my version. When I try a system update I get a file cannot be found message. Any thoughts?
Sorry, yes I meant a software update. Once I downloaded the software and it didnt work it went away but it said something along the lines of files cannot be found. I am going to downlaod the new version and then delete the old application and reinstall it to see if that works.

I think by what Suhas is saying in the post heading is that his files are actually still in .cp format, not yet upgraded to CPTX. If so, Cp7 or Cp8 will not open them.
He'll need to find a computer running Cp5 or Cp6 to upgrade the .cp files to .cptx and then they should be able to be upgraded from there to Cp7 or Cp7. -
I installed the InDesign CC Testversion and now i try to open INDD-Files from earlier Version. Always i get the error "This file is made by an earlier Version...." but it´s CC that is the latest Version. What is the problem ? Should i have to convert the files ?
Adobe has been using confusing version names for at least five years.
There are now two versions labeled CC, version 9 and version 10 (also known as CC 2014). Version 10 is the latest, and if you attempt to open a version 10 file in Version 9 that is not fully patched you will get an error message telling you that the file cannot be opened. The latest patch for version 9 should use a cloud-based service at Adobe to convert version 10 files to IDML and allow you to open that.
I suspect you may be using an older operating system. Version 10 requires that your system runs at least OS X 10.7 or Windows 7 SP1 and if you are not it will not even be offered to you. -
I cannot afford to upgrade my computer and sw from xp.
How do I open older files created in InDesign CS 2.
The error code it telling me the plug ins have been disabled.
Someone tell me this is a message about the newer version that has not been installed on my computer.
IIf you plan on collaborating with other users who have progressed with the technology you are gong to have to upgrade. There is simply no way any longer to continue with XP and CS2 except in isolation.

Making change in original application file for new version
Hi
I am new to DMS.
I have a basic query about versioning of DIR.
I have created a DIR with status in Released.
I have attached a original application to the DIR. Now when I am creating a new version of DIR, original application file is also getting copied to the new version which is desired.
My problem is I want to make changes into original application file in new version of DIR and want to save. But I am unable to do so. It is not allowing me to change the original application file for new version which is desired for storing some ISO documents.
Is there any settings which I am missing?

If you want to make changes in the "Release" Status, go to dc10, select Doc type and define status screen. Do not put "S" (Lock mode) for Status - Release
Also please check in new version , you are clicking on Edit symbol in Orginals tab, if u double click the file, it would open always in display mode , and it wont allow you to make any changes

I have problems to opening SIM Files.
The message that the SAP Tutor Tool display is :
"This tutorial cannot be run by this version of SAP Tutor. To run the tutorial you must licence SAP Tutor"
I can open SIM File direct from SAP, but not self created SIM Files.

I am using I Photo 9.2.3 with OS 10.6.8 When I upgraded to current I photo some of my Iphoto books i put together disappeared. Cant find them anywhere, including in the time machine...I photo cant open older files...How can a find the book entitled "Mom" ? Does Apple keep ordered books on file?
Apple keeps books for a short time (used to be 40 days. I've not seen a recent time frame)
What version did you have?
Books do nor exist except in the iPhoto database so you can not "find" a book vista TM. You restore a previous library (be sure NOT to overwrite your current library) and switch to it

I can't open RAW files from new Sony Alpha a6000 camera in PSE 11 camera raw editor. Is there an update that will allow me to do this or do I need to always use DNG convertor?
You would need to update to PSE 12, or just keep using the DNG converter. Your camera requires ACR 8.4, which isn't compatible with PSE 11. It's also not compatible with PSE 12 if you are running Vista or XP.

I have a problem with opening downloaded files from the internet; zip types. Can you tell me an app to open these types of formats of files?
It should unzip if you double-cick.
What are you seeing happen when you do that?
Select a .zip file in the Finder and Get Info (cmd-i). What is set for it to Open With. It should be Archive Utility. -
What does "file create new version" do
What does the menu selection File --> Create new Version do?
How are the selections activated (not greyed out)?
Create iPod or iPhone Version
Create iPad or Apple TV Version
Create AAC Version
Any ideas? There no mention in the tutorial.The first two options are for converting video into resolutions compatible with the device.
The third one is to create new versions of audio files, The type of conversion is controlled in Preferences.
Click on the import settings and choose the encoder and quality. the create version then may change to create mp3 version etc

I can't find my all PDF in new version and older version is better than new and fix this problem as soon as possible....!

Hi, I downloaded a 30-day trial of Adobe Muse. All was working well. I published the site but it seemed to merge my site with another in Business Catalyst, so I deleted the site in BC. Then when I tried to publish again form Muse, I get 'An unknown authentication error has occurred using your AdobeID'.
I searched online and was advised to uninstall Muse and reinstall. All done fine but when I try to open my muse site file, I get an error stating 'This Adobe Muse file requires a newer version of Adobe Muse. Please update to the latest version'.
Meanwhile my Creative Cloud profile states its the latest version.
Please help. I had considered just signing up and subscribing thinking this may solve problem but am a little wary to do so in case issues are not resolved even then and then I am paying fro an app I cannot use! Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.Amen, same thing for me this is a big bug and leaves all the Muse users scatching their heads. Adobe is pretty arrogant about Muse users, they are targeted for abuse.
