Problems configuring ifs on nt

when the ifs configuration is running, after
i've entered all information:
when i click on the Configure Button
i get the following error:
oracle.ifs.utils.action.ActionFailedException:java.sql.SQLException: QRA-00922: missing or invalid option
while the configuration tries to create
the iFS-Schema.
ntserver 4 sp6a, 4G free space 512M-RAM
oracle 8.1.6 Release 2 (on same machine)
ifs 1.0.8.1

OK, I have looked through the IfsConfigOut.log output...
Can you do a simple test for me? Use SQL*Plus, login as the SYS user, and do the following:
create user testuser identified by foo;
grant connect, resource to testuser;
grant execute on dbms_obfuscation_toolkit to testuser;
I have a feeling the 3rd line will fail with the same error you're seeing when the iFS Configuration Assistant fails. If this is the case, go back and re-read the pre-installation tasks which are documented in the iFS Installation Guide. You need to enable the DBMS_OBFUSCATION_TOOLKIT before you configure iFS.

  • Problems configuring iFS on Win 2000

    If I check the option "Use interMedia Text" I get the error "oracle.ifs.utils.action.ActionFailedException: interMedia seems to be misconfigured". How exactly should interMedia be configured? My repository database has all options installed except "Advanced Replication" and "SQL*Plus Help"
    OK, so I left off interMedia Text. When the configuration begins, it reaches the step "Creating iFS Schema...", and the following error occurs: "Exception while performing section task (CreateDSUser DEFAULT $$tempDN $$1). Unable to create user (SYSTEM.TOJO.TLD) IFS-10154. What kind of user is iFS trying to create?
    Thanks.

    I reinstalled the repository with "typical", but I got the same messages.
    Perhaps I should mention that I have Oracle 8i Enterprise and Oracle 9i App Server on the same box. OAS 9i also creates a Home called "Oracle806" for the Forms/Reports stuff, for a grand total of 3 Homes. Perhaps iFS is getting confused here?
    Also, when I choose "Oracle 8i is on this machine" (which it is) in the iFS configuration, I get a TNS protocol error, even though the tnsnames.ora's in all Homes are up-to-date. If I choose "Oracle 8i is on another machine", there's no problem.

  • Problem configuring OAS9i

    Hi all...
    I've unstalled O8i 8.1.7 and OAS9i on two different machines.
    All configuration steps seemd to be successfully executed but when i try to use Portal (http://serverName/pls/portal30 or http://serverName/pls/portal30/admin_/gateway.htm etc) i receive the following error:
    Service Temporary Unavailable
    I checked Oracle http server and it runs! (calling http://serverName i can see the page of HTTP configuration and i can configure mod_plsq cartrige...)
    All windows services seem to be runnig too...
    So what could be the problem?
    I choosed the standard installation so with Portal and IFS.
    What i noticed is that before configuring IFS Portal seemd to work fine but after IFS configuration trying to access Portal the error explained arises and nothing works!!!
    The database is up and running (I checked it logging with sqlplus from the machine where OAS9i is installed in)
    I also added an entry for the TNS_ADMIN in the jserv.properties file of the OAS9i Apache HTTP Server but nothing changed.
    May anyone help me?
    It's URGENT, PLEASE.
    THANX in advance

    Have you tried running the ssodatan script?

  • Problems configuring HP Laserjet M1213nf MFP with Mac via AirPrint

    Hello,
    I have a HP Laserjet M1213nf MFP printer, connected to a Dlink DSL-2730U ADSL router. I am having problems configuring the printer with my Macbook running OSX Yosemite. I can see the printers name in nearby printers but when I try to add the printer, the mac gives me an error saying, "unable to communicate with the printer at this time". The network settings on the printer are configure for iPv4 and iPv6 addresses.
    Previously, I had the ADSL DSL-2750U model router, and the printer was connected fine. I did not face any issues then. I have been facing problems since I changed my router so the problem should be in the router. I have the IP for the printer reserved in the DHCP reservation list on the router settings using the mac address of the printer.
    Can someone please help me out here? Is there something I am probably missing.
    Rgds
    ~n~

    I talked to the DLink Support. They asked me to disable an option called "MultiAP Isolation" and Voila, the printer is working fine. I can add it to all my devices on the wireless network. I looked up google. Apparently, this isolation feature present in some routers, prevent wifi clients to interact with other devices connected to the wired network and also with each other. Thats why only my desktop which was also connected wired was only able to access the printer and not the laptops connected wirelessly.
    Problem solved. Thanks for all your help on this one.
    Cheers!

  • Problems configuring Platform Domain with MS Sql Server

    Hi,
    We are having problems configuring a Platform Domain with MS Sql Server 2000.
    We are using Weblogic version 7.0.0.2. These are the steps we followed
    1.We manually created a database called TestDB and created a user account called
    "system", pwd ==>> "weblogic" in SQL server and assigned him as the DB owner for
    the TestDB created.
    2. Changed dbsettings_properties files (Commented pointbase entries and uncommented
    SQL Server entries. I gave the connection parameter as connection=jdbc:weblogic:mssqlserver4:localhost:1433
    in this file.
    3. Modified Config.xml and changed properties for DataSyncPool, WLIPool, CommercePool,WLIPool
    and modified the RDBMS realm properties to point to the database.
    4. ran the create_db script and it seemed to have run fine looking at the log
    file.
    5. I then tried to start the BEA Server instance and I get the following error.
    I am also attaching the config.xml file for reference.
    Appreciate any help/suggestions. Thanks in Advance.

  • Problem configuring Username token profile on ALSB

    Hi All !!
    First of all, thanks for your support!!
    I'm facing a problem configuring an active intermediary Proxy service with username token profile. This proxy service has a security policy referencing Auth.xml file to implement Username token profile. That proxy calls a business service which calls a web service.
    On test page, username and password is requested (already created in the security domain), then an error is returned "Unable to add security token for identity".

  • Configuration IFS in wireless

    I would like get the ifs application running. We have the IFS (server) running on the url http://hostname:7777/files/app/
    When I go to the url above I get the SSO interface where I can log on using the administrator password. Here I can browse through my maps.
    Which url do I have to use in the wireless IFS application settings to get access to IFS (Service Designer > Master Services > modules > pim > IFS). If I use the url above then I get the following error:

    Is there another url that I can use for the wireless IFS interface?
    I've also tried http://hostname:7777/files but I got the same error. I can enter a default service url and a username password but I still can't get access.
    Any help will be appreciated.

  • Problem configuring RVS4000 router

    I just purchase the Cisco Router RVS4000 vpn and I am having problem configuring the VPN option.  I just try all way I could imaging, but somehow something are missing and I don't know what it is.  Here are a image of my current configuration.

    Without examining this in detail, it is only half of the equation.  The other end of the tunnel needs to be configured as well.  BTW, don't ever post your WAN IP and shared key in a public forum.  Change the key.

  • Fix many web access problems with IFS 9.0.1 on Solaris (and other OS's)...

    When the installation is done according to the documentation,
    web access does not work because the scripts that add entries to
    the jserv.properties file add duplicate references to
    wrapper.env and wrapper.classpath. Look at the jserv.properties
    file below and look at the remarked-out (#) lines of the
    duplicate references. For example, look at the references to the
    wrapper.env=LD_LIBRARY_PATH
    Oracle, please note this bug so the web access problems are
    minimized when the product is intstalled.
    Thank you,
    William T.

    Any ideas as to why it will not run. I had to install iFS with out the Partitioning option and without Intermedia Option. (I tried first with the Intermedia option and it told me that Intermedia was not configured correctly, so I scartched it out but it still will not work.)
    If anyone can help me please respond to this post or email me at [email protected]
    Thank you ahead of time.

    W2K is not a supported platform for iFS 1.0.
    Please use NT4.0.
    In your case it appears that you have given incorrect username/password information for ifsschema owner at the ServerManager login. The second password on the ServerManager startup dialog is the schema owner's database password, not the iFS administrator password.
    However please note that even if you get past the connection problem you will encounter other problems under W2K, and we cannot provide support for you on a platform that is not supported. Also we recommend more that 256 Meg of Memory.

  • DIAdem 9.1; Windows2000; right problem; "Configuration-Drive Write Protected" for USER

    Hallo community !
    similar to these threads

    http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=60&message.id=647&requireLogin=False
    i run into problems working with DIAdem 9.1 on Windows 2000 SP4!
    The Diadem installation went quite well.
    My problem:
    only "Administrator" and "Power User" have the privilige to "WRITE" to the DIAdem install directory.
    Trying to start Diadem as non priviliged USER I get something like:
    DIAdem Configuration-Drive "C:\PROGRAM FILES\ NATIONAL INSTRUMENT\DIADEM 9.10" WRITE PROTECTED!
    I installed & started DIAdem for one
    time with Administrator rights. I activated the Product and exported
    the KEY to a License Server. Everything works fine for Power Users an
    Administrators. Only "simple" USERs are not able to start Diadem due to
    missing WRITE permissions.  i can't grand this permissions to
    normal USERs :-(
    Playing around in Registry -> "RegWriteAccessAllow" ("0","1") (DWORD) (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/National Instruments/Diadem/9.10),
    didn't solved the problem.
    I switched back to "local License" Managment (local Key files) but the Probelm persists.
    thanks in advance
    P.S.
    Quote: "You have to be at least a "Power User" in Windows 2000 to run DIAdem in Windows 2000."

    is this right ?

    Message Edited by DirkT on 08-01-2005 04:02 PM

    Hi DirkT,
    Running DIAdem with User rights has different aspects we need to look at.
    1) Registry Write Access
    Launching DIAdem the first time with administrative rights registers some OLE components in the registry. After this step no more Admin rights are necessary for the registry. However running DIAdem as user might result in error messages as DIAdem tries to re-register the components again. You can avoid this by setting the RegWriteAccessAllow Key to 0 (see online help under "Administrator Notes")
    2) File / Folder Write Access to the DIAdem Installation Folder
    DIAdem needs write access to certain files e.g. the error logfile DEM_ERRS.001 or DESKTOP.DDD when saving configurations. You may change the folder where these file are being stored and searched for to a writeable folder by launching DIAdem with the "/d<NewFolder\MyDesktop.ddd>" start parameter or by setting the environment variable "DemDDD" to that folder. Then move the following files from the DIAdem installation folder to your new writeable folder:
    *.ddd
    userpar.par
    dem_errs.*
    3) File / Folder Write Access to other Folders
    There are a number of other folders that DIAdem 9.x needs write access to and which cannot be changed. All of these folders are located by default under "%ProgramFiles%\National Instruments\Shared". Currently you need your Admin to give you write access to that folder and below
    For future versions of DIAdem the team is working to make running under user rights easier.
    Hope that helps,
    Marcus

  • Mail Server: problem configuring dovecot with postifx and virtualhosts

    Hi all,
    I'm am struggling trying to configure a mail server. I have a dedicated server running archlinux.
    I want to setup a complete mail server, ie: web access (for that I installed roundcube) and being able to retrieve mails on any e-mail client.
    I followed this guide, from the documentation but I've read that courier-imap is a lot more resources hungry than dovecot. As I could not have it working using the documentation, I tought I would use dovecot. The problem is that I am not able to configure it.
    What I already have up and running: web server (nginx) with postfixadmin and roundcubemail, postfix, mysql.
    Now, I want to be able to send and receive mails using dovecot. Could you guide me a little in order to replace courier-imap with dovecot, starting from this documentation? I already have my databases configured, a vmail user, ssl certificates and postifx configured for virtualhosts. Seems that the only thing missing is imap + smts thrue TLS.
    Thanks for any help.

    The dovecot configuration files are very well commented with documentation and examples in /etc/dovecot/
    As for TLS and SMTP Auth, this is the relevant part of my main.cf for postfix:

    smtpd_tls_cert_file = /etc/postfix/wildcard.example.com.crt
    smtpd_tls_CAfile = /etc/postfix/root.crt
    smtpd_tls_received_header = yes
    smtpd_tls_security_level = may

    smtpd_tls_session_cache_timeout = 3600s
    smtp_use_tls = yes
    smtp_tls_security_level = may

    smtp_sasl_auth_enable = no

    smtpd_sasl_type = dovecot

    smtpd_sasl_path = /srv/postfix/private/auth

  • [SOLVED] Problem configuring DisplayLink monitor (udlfb...)

    SOLVED:
    It seems that my monitor shows no green screen when it is ready. Instead it shows the last image rendered. In my case it was this color stripes.
    Also, I upgraded to kernel 3.2.1-2, and using the include module udlfb and xf86-video-fbdev from the official repositories I made it work.
    I'm struggling to configure a Green House DisplayLink monitor to work with a netbook with an eGalaxTouchscreen. It seems I have problems with udlfb and the DisplayLink driver.
    Following this artilce in the wiki, I installed udlfb and xf86-video-fbdev-for-displaylink from the AUR.
    Loading the module with
    # modprobe udlfb fb_defio=1
    does not give any problem:
    dmesg
    [ 509.963703] usbcore: registered new interface driver udlfb
    Plugging the monitor after loading the driver gives the following output:
    dmesg
    [ 637.363419] usb 1-1: new high speed USB device number 6 using ehci_hcd
    [ 637.470050] usb 1-1: device descriptor read/64, error -32

    [ 637.793145] udlfb: DisplayLink USB device /dev/fb1 attached. 1366x768 resolution. Using 4104K framebuffer memory
    But there is no visible change, the screen remains black. Nevertheless, there is a new entry /dev/fb1 as advertised. I followed the steps of the article but I didn't suceed. As I understand, the green screen assures you that udlfb is properly loaded and that the monitor is ready to use.
    It seems that it is sadly not my case. Another strange thing is that if I load udlfb, then unload it and load it back again the monitor diplays green, blue, red and yellow stripes. But not the green screen.
    I attach my xorg configuration, just in case.

    I use my DisplayLink monitor with a netbook. The best I can get at the moment is to use the DL monitor as my primary monitor in a []single monitor setup[]. This means that my netbook's monitor is not used at all (although in my case it is not vital, I would like it to work for watching videos or writing LaTeX code in the smaller screen with a big font size and read the preview in the bigger one).
    This is the Xorg file I use:
    /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-monitor.conf
    # DisplayLink Monitor
    Section "Device"
    Identifier "DisplayLink"
    Driver "fbdev"
    BusID "USB"
    Option "fbdev" "/dev/fb1"
    EndSection
    Section "Monitor"
    Identifier "Secondary Monitor"
    EndSection
    Section "Screen"
    Identifier "External Screen"
    Device "DisplayLink"
    Monitor "Secondary Monitor"
    DefaultDepth 16
    SubSection "Display"
    Depth 16
    Modes "1366x768"
    # Virtual 4096 4096
    EndSubSection
    EndSection
    # eGalax Touchscreen
    Section "Device"
    Identifier "Integrated Graphics Controller"
    Driver "intel"
    EndSection
    Section "Monitor"
    Identifier "Primary Monitor"
    EndSection
    Section "Screen"
    Identifier "Internal Screen"
    Device "Integrated Graphics Controller"
    Monitor "Primary Monitor"
    DefaultDepth 16
    SubSection "Display"
    Depth 16
    Modes "1366x768"
    Virtual 2732 768
    EndSubSection
    EndSection
    # Dual Monitor configuration
    Section "ServerLayout"
    Identifier "Dual Head Setup"
    # Screen "Internal Screen"
    # Screen "External Screen" RightOf "Internal Screen"
    Screen "External Screen"
    # Screen "Internal Screen" LeftOf "External Screen"
    # Screen "Internal Screen" LeftOf "External Screen"
    # Option "Xinerama" "on"
    # Option "Clone" "off"
    EndSection
    I use xf86-input-fbdev for the DL monitor.
    This has one major drawback: I've found no way to make this work dynamically, so I need to move/rename or edit this file whenever I want to change my setup (twice a day in my case). It is not absolutely unbearable but it is an unsatisfactory solution nevertheless.
    Also, if I understood correctly, this seems to be a limitation of the current drivers (which include no 3D accel., so no GNOME shell for example). If you find a better way to do it (specially to detect the other monitor dynamically) please let me know.
    PS: Sorry for the late response, I was on vacation.

  • Problems configuring router after hard reset

    I'll start with my 'vitals' ---
    * WRK54G Wireless Router
    * Cable internet
    * Desktop computer is wired to the router
    * Roku media player - wireless connection (will play my mp3s off of the computer or listen to internet radio stations)
    * Tivo wirelessly connected
    This morning, I tried to play some music off of my computer on the Roku media player. It would not communicate with the computer, but it would find the internet stations. After some trial and error, I tried to make the Tivo connect and it also failed to find the computer. The computer itself also could not find the internet, but the Roku was streaming music from the 'net fine. I exhausted my limited networking knowledge and decided it was time to bite the bullet and do a full restart on the router.
    I turned off the computer and the router. The modem has a battery backup so I reset it and while it was booting back up, I plugged the computer into the modem. Once the computer started, the internet was up on the computer and felt encouraged. I found and ran the install disk that came with the router and followed it step by step. After getting a few more errors, I got the setup program to find the internet through the router and I could proceed to the next step. When I got to setting my time zone, an error came up that the modem could not be configured and I should hold the reset button again for 10 seconds. I felt discouraged again. I reset it, and nothing. Tried again nothing. It will not get through the guided set up, but the internet is apparently working.
    I thought I would just get into the web-based set up page. I can log in with the default password and get to all of the screens, but whenever I try to save changes (whether I made any or not) the password box comes back up and the default password (or any password I tried to change it to) will make it go away.
    So basically, my problems are: 1) the guided setup will not finish 2) the web-based setup will not let me make any changes because it does not recognize any password.
    Thanks for any help in advance...
    Chris
    PS -- after I post this, I am going to reset the computer again and unplug the internet from the router just to see if I can get the web-based setup to work. I'll post the results, one way or another.

    I, and others in this forum, have had problems saving Linksys router settings too.  I logged into my router fine, but couldn't save the settings without a password screen coming up.  No password is accepted.  I contacted Linksys Help and received no solution.  I looked on this forum and saw mentioned that the problem may be with Norton Internet Security (NIS).  One person said they just temporarily disabled NIS and then they were able to save their router settings before reenabling NIS again.  I tried that, ended up turning off every setting in my NIS, rebooting with them off, etc, but it didn't help with the ability to save my router settings.  I have NIS 2007 and the NIS Add-On pack (needed because for some reason Norton took away features from previous versions and after people complained they made them available again with the add-on pack).  I planned to remove all of NIS (after I made notes of my modifications), and started by removing the NIS Add-On pack first.  After a reboot I tried to save my router settings and it worked!  Phew.  I got them all set and tested, then I installed the NIS Add-On pack again and all is well.  When I saw people had made comments on this forum about this problem for 8 months at least I was disappointed that Linksys Help hadn't already been aware of the problem and able to give the solution.

  • Caching problem with iFS web server / index.html

    There seems to be a problem with the iFS Java web server serving cached index.html documents after they have been modified.
    This only happens when the document is referenced by the folder name (e.g. /home/kennu/). If you reference it by the full name (/home/kennu/index.html), the new modified version comes up alright.
    I wonder if this is a bug or some kind of a feature? Is there an quick and easy workaround?
    Byt the way, is this the correct place to post bug reports? I didn't see iFS mentioned in the OTN Bug Database.

    well, this is certainly not an intended effect. i'll look into it. in the meantime, the workaround already posted should pull you through.
    sorry about the inconvenience.
