Problems connecting wifi to office internet

My ipad 2 will only connect to the internet at my works office on occasion, when it does not work it constantly refreshes and connects with the symbol showing but the internet will still not connect then after a while disappears. On some days however it will just connect and I have no issue with it all day, does anyone know of a reason it only works occasionally? I have tried forgetting the network, turning ipad on and off, forgetting all wifi connections and reseting. None of which seem to work, any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

I had the same issue. It was due to the appalling performance of the USB connection to the disk, not any issue with the wireless connection itself. My iMac was within 7m of the router, on the same floor, with a clear line of sight and good reported connection speed. I have the latest late-2009 version of the AEBS running the 7.5 firmware. This has loads of performance problems (read these forums). I'm hoping that Apple will release the new firmware (7.51) for download soon and then the issue may be resolved.

Hey there, You english is just fine very nice!
You are having issues because the OVI store app is trying to use the mobile network to connect to the web, That could be because it is set as the default connection in all apps. If you go in to connectivity settings in the phone you should be able set the default Access point in all apps. Or at least change it so the phone will ask you what APN you would like to use to connect.

  • Iphone 5 connecting wifi, but no internet

Hello there. İ have a problem about conectivit to wifi. I have a wireless router at home. I connect my phone to it. Both galaxy s4 and iphone 5 (and some other laptops) connect easily. but when i try to search something on the internet, there is no internet at all. Actually, signal strength is full, still no internet -just for iphone five-. i have tried all kinds of traditional methods that is written here and there like; resetting the router, changing security to wpa2, changing password, resetting network settings on  my iphone, resetting iphone, hard resetting iphone, reconnecting and so on... none of them worked unfortunately. and i am not the only one having wifi issues about iphone 5. It started making me feel like i was cheated buying this phone. i have been using iphone since the second generation. we dont deserve this kind of problems in iphone!

iPhone 4s is not iphone5 iPhone 5 Will come out next summer
Your problem is likely that your routers firmware require an Update

  • Problem connecting wirelessly to the internet WRT54G

I'm having strange issues with my wrt54g router - as long as my computers are plugged into it through ethernet, I have no problem accessing the internet. However, I can't access the internet if I connect to the router using wireless (my computers can connect to the router itself wirelessly, just can't access the internet from it). I've had this router for a little under a year and it used to work fine. Then I stopped using it for a few months, forgot my password and had to hit the reset button when I wanted to set it back up again yesterday. I've tried connecting multiple computers to it wirelessly, including the old one that used to work with it, but none of them can access the internet.
I'm really not sure what could be wrong. Do I need to reinstall the router software that came with the router itself (though I'm not sure how this can help..)? Or is there some button/setting on the router that allows it to access the internet that I could have missed? I checked and wireless is enabled under wireless settings.
I'm running Vista on one computer and XP on another.

Connect the XP computer to the router at Ethernet Port ....
Reset the router for 20-30 seconds ....
Run the Disc for the setup wizard
Let me know if any other problem occurs...

They also said to lower my network security from WPA2 to WAP. WPA2 was to high a security. Does it matter?

  • Having problems connecting two ipads to Internet at the same time

Hi everyone, new to here, would love any advise please. We have just received a new router from talktalk, DSL3680. The previous router had broken.
We are having trouble trying to connect to the Internet with my wife's iPad and mine at the same time. Which ever pad gets on the net first blocks out the other one.
One iPad is iPad 2, the other iPad 4th generation. They have different device names, but run off the same apple Id account. Never had any trouble with old router just with the new one. Both have up to date software. Regards Wayne

Make sure iPad is using DHCP and not Static IP.

  • Problem connecting PowerPivot's (Office 2013) Data Model deployed on SharePoint 2013 to data source.

    Hello:
    Our configurations is as follow :  SharePoint 2013 is on Server A;  SQL Server Analysis server (SQL 2014) is on DB Server B;
SharePoint databases (sp_ ...) and our Data Mart (SQL 2014) are on server B. All servers runs Windows 2012 OS.
On my desktop I built a simple Excel 2013 workbook with PowerPivot Data Model that imported several tables from our Data Mart (server B above). Then created a Power View report. Locally everything works fine.
But when I uploaded this workbook to our SharePoint PowerPivot gallery and was trying to refresh data, I got the connection error: It’s very long but the ErrorCode is “rsCannotRetriveModel”. The end of the error message is:

    Jeff Gorvits

    Hi Jeff,
Firstly, I need to confirm whether you are refreshing Data connection in browser, since Data Refresh is not supported in Office Web Apps. Please refer more information in this article:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/excel_services__powerpivot_for_sharepoint_support_blog/archive/2013/01/31/powerpivot-for-sharepoint-browser-refresh-fails-data-refresh-not-supported-in-office-web-apps.aspx
From the error "Call to Excel Services returned an error", please verify the location of the
data source, for example an Excel workbook, is registered as a trusted location with Excel Services:
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj219699(v=office.15).aspx
Since you are using unattended account for Excel Services to connect from SP to databases, I wonder if the issue occurs to unattended referesh, if so, please refer to:

  • Problems connecting WIFI.  Anyone else?

Just bought my Droid2 today and think its great but I can't link it to my home router. My network is private and I'm entering the passphrase but the Droid says disconnected. It easily connects to my neighbors weak public network.  I didn't have this issue with my BB Storm2. I called tech support and they had to put me thru to Motorola tech support but their wait time is an hour.  I am still waiting for a callback and its been 2 hours.
Anyone else having an issue?  I have a Linksys set on WPA2.

I have the Microtech thru Qwest and I get a weak to good signal with the G series router .
I just tried different #'s (as in the last of the ip address) and finally got a better one.
I acually put it in Air Plane mode and just ran WiFi with the low signal, and it seemed faster then vzw's network.

  • Problem connect to my office PC with Microsoft Remote Desktop from my MAC OSX 10.9.1

    Hi,
As far as I know, Java is not required for the Microsoft Remote Desktop client for Mac.
Please make sure that you download and install this App for the link below.

  • NetGroup problems connecting devices with different internet connection

Create a chat using technology Cirrus (p2p) and class NetGroup.
If the device is a mobile phone, and has network via 3G or 4G, then connect to the same group with other devices is not happening.
For example, there are a PC and the mobile device:
1 If both are connected to one Wi-Fi:
    onNetConnectionNetStatus: NetConnection.Connect.Success
    onNetConnectionNetStatus: NetGroup.Connect.Success
    onNetGroupNetStatus: NetGroup.Neighbor.Connect
    A connection is made.
2 If both are connected to different Wi-Fi:
    onNetConnectionNetStatus: NetConnection.Connect.Success
    onNetConnectionNetStatus: NetGroup.Connect.Success
    onNetGroupNetStatus: NetGroup.Neighbor.Connect
    A connection is made.
3.If one device is connected to Wi-Fi, and the other to a 3G or G4
    onNetConnectionNetStatus: NetConnection.Connect.Success
    onNetConnectionNetStatus: NetGroup.Connect.Success
    No connection.

Tested on Adobe AIR SDK 3.2, 3.4, 13.0.0.111

the results you're showing indicate a symmetric NAT (that is, a NAT that uses a different translation for each unique destination).  there is no way for a peer behind a symmetric NAT to coordinate and find another peer that's behind a different symmetric NAT or behind a port-restricted cone NAT.
this posting by Matthew Kaufman explains the situation with NATs in more detail:
      https://forums.adobe.com/message/1064983#1064983
as far as "fixing" it: the issue isn't the protocol -- a symmetric NAT is inherently defective.  the only fix is to not use a symmetric NAT in your network.  unfortunately this is often outside your control (such as with your mobile provider).

  • Problem connecting N8 to internet via Talk Talk ro...

    Hi there
Could somebody help me resolve my problem connecting nokia N8 to internet via Talk Talk router with WEP. I have just updated my Nokia’s software and now I can use an internet because I’m getting error. I can connect to the router, there is a status “connected” but then the internet not working. I would appreciate if somebody would have given some clue how to fix that.
    Thanks

    Hi Sylwunia10,
Thank you for your post and welcome to the forums!
Have you tried deleting your current access point setting and creating it again? You can do this by navigating to Menu > Tools > Settings > Connections > Access Points. Select your WLAN access point, delete it and create a new one following these instructions.
If this does not fix the issue, you can try to soft reset your phone and WLAN router.
Dial *#7780# to soft reset your device, this will return the phone to factory settings without removing any personal data. Even though your data should not be affected by the reset, it is a good idea to back up your phone first using Nokia Suite.  As for your router,  please refer to the manual on how to reset it.
Let us know if this helps,
    Puigchild

  • Problem connecting Nokia C3 to home wireless route...

    Good day, Nokia!
I recently bought a Nokia C3-00 WiFi phone but I can't seem to browse my home wireless connection with it. The phone can detect and connect with the wireless network successfully but when I open my mobile browser, it can't load websites, saying "Service not available."
However, I can connect and browse the internet through other WiFi hotspots, just not my home connection. The router I'm using is LP-8616. It's an AP router, if that helps. Unfortunately, there's no firmware upgrade for this router anymore.
I've read all the threads about this problem here and all over the internet but still nothing works for me. Hope you or somebody here could help me to finally solve this problem. More Power!

Allsolution from another post, see /t5/Cseries/C3-wifi-problem-connect-to-wlan-but-internet-not-work/m-p/950115#M14517. Found out how to solve the problem of connecting via WLAN in the following way (the phone was able to connect to the Internet only through the GSM provider network):
Step 1: Menu> Settings> Configuration> Personal Settings> Add> Web or Streaming or any other (Just add, needs no other settings)
Step 2: Menu> Settings> Configuration> Default config. settings (choose MyWeb, Personal Settings or the name created at step 1)
Step 3: Menu> Settings> Configuration> Personal settings (delete the field created in step 1) then go to Menu> Settings> Configuration> Preferred access point (choose one of the available options)
Now you can open your browser and try to connect. It should ask what method you choose (WLAN or Access Point Preferred)
If your phone does not want to be connected via the GSM provider network, the user can manually enter settings for defining an Access Point (Step 4)
Step 4: Menu> Settings> Configuration> Personal Settings> Add> Access Point (check with GSM provider for account settings)
Step 5: Menu> Settings> Configuration> Preferred access point (select the field you created earlier)
I know that what I wrote above may seem like science fiction for a user who is not accustomed to butoneasca phone and non-stop, but I assure you that the operation should take no longer than 5 minutes.

  • Problems connection N96 to WLAN

    Hi everybody,
I have some problemes connecting my N96 to internet using WLAN, i created an AD HOC network with no encryption and i shared my DSL connection, everything worked fine by after 1 day it stopped, i had "no gateway reply" error message, so i created another new AD HOC network by i have the same error, i tried to delete all WLAN connection in my N96 et to reset it nut nothing worked.
    Any help?

If you want to use internet in Ad-hoc, you've to enable Internet Connection Sharing. Try first without WEP. Keep in range of other PC/laptop (10 meters). Go to menu-> tools-> settings-> connection-> wireless LAN-> options-> advanced settings.

We are on holiday in Mexico. Our iPad2 has no problem connecting to the Internet through our hotel's subscription WiFi network. But, both of our macbookpros can not with the same password. What can we try?
We can join the network, but can not access the Internet. The password is correct. We have tried network assistant and diagnostics, restarting the laptops, re-joining the network. Our iPhone 4s also works all the time.
Same location. Signal strength is good.

Since I couldn't figure out a way to edit our original post, here's another potential clue.
Our laptops, when in System Preferences>Network, say "WiFi has the self-assigned IP address of XXXXXXXXX and will not be able to connect to the Internet".
Strangely, my six year old MBP running OS 10.6.8 accessed the Internet straight away, just by opening Safari to my home page. My wife's six month old MBP running OS 10.7.2 could not.
