  • Why do Certain fonts change when I convert to PDF from Microsoft word?  They start out 60s chic and end up as a standard font.

Why do some fonts change when converted from Microsoft word to PDF?  It starts out as 60s chic and changes to standard font.

Related to the question, I suspect you have licensed fonts that cannot be embedded. Thus, the PDF is using what it is finding to be an equivalent as well as it can guess. Did you check the font list in the PDF?

  • Having a problem converting a PDF document to Word, or RTF

My Document appears to be images of scanned pages of a book. Document Properties say it was produced using PDF version 1.5; however, Tagged PDF attribute says NO! I have a feeling that images of pages cannot be converted. Would this be true?

Oops, I think you have to scan an original document, or a book page, and change it to a PDF before you can apply OCR, or vice-versa. My source file is usually a PDF image file, like pictures of book pages, like Google Books. I don't think you can peel off image texts. I think once you have downloaded a PDF containing images of book pages, then you're stuck with increasing text size, and reading it directly. You can't COPY text images, then PASTE to a new document for Saving.

Why Acrobat x professional is changing the text formatting specifically the font family  and the font size of the text in my pdf on exporting it to Microsoft word file format ?How should i stop Acrobat x professional from doing that so that i get an exactly same word file on exporting it from its pdf counterpart?

I was testing the preciseness & efficiency of Adobe acrobat x professional's doc conversion capabilities. As i have to take a document editing project in future which is going to need lot of pdf to word and vice versa conversions . What I did was I created a test word document converted into a pdf using a pdf maker in my word 2007 , Acrobat did convert the document from word to pdf keeping everything in the source file intact , However when i tried the other way round and attempted to convert the same pdf to word 2007 file format I lost my formatting ?So the font that I used to create the pdf are the ones taken from word 2007 which i believe is using the fonts that are installed in my computer. Any suggestions on how to preserve the formatting of the document after converting it from pdf to word file format?
    Regards
    Mike

    Hi nickel13,
What is the problem you are facing?
Is this happening with a single PDF file?

  • Converting exported pdf to word

I am having a problem converting a pdf I received by e-mail to a word document.  I open it with adobe reader then export the pdf to convert to word 2007 or newer.  I do this online and when it comes back it is not any where close to correct.  what am I doing wrong.

Probably nothing. Conversion back to word depends a lot on the structure of the e-mail and all. To do it with Reader is difficult, but apparently you are using the on-line service. Neither Reader or the on-line service are the focus of this forum, but my guess is that Acrobat may do only slightly better. AA XI has done the best of any version I have ever used, but it often still is not very good.
I would suggest you ask the author for an original WORD document. That would be a lot easier in the long run. However, it might be that it was produced by WORD Perfect, Open/Libre Office, LaTeX, or a host of other editors and layout programs. In that case, it may be no better.
Layout is often the first thing to go. If you have equations, expect them to look like garble. Those are issues that Acrobat can just not complete well.

I wanna Convert PDF to Microsoft Word & Microsoft Word to PDF? How do I Do it?

    Hey,
Firstly, you might need to refer this link to check the compatibility of MS Word with your Acrobat version:
Compatible web browsers and PDFMaker applications
Also, let me know what Acrobat version are you using?
You can choose "File>Save as Other> Microsoft Word" to convert PDF file to Word.
And, while exporting a word file to PDF, either you can use Adobe PDF printer option from the File menu or Acrobat ribbon from the menubar.
Please check and let me know.

  • Exporting issues from PDF to Microsoft Word

I have a user that received a PDF document that was originally created with InDesign CS3. She wants to make changes to that document, but we don't have InDesign CS3, trying to use the Export to Word function instead. When we go to export the PDF into Microsoft Word, most of the document doesn't export, and in my case, Word crashes every time I try to open.
My only question is this. Is that expected behavior? And if so, she'd need to get InDesign CS3 to make her changes?

    >My only question is this. Is that expected behavior?
Probably. There are many things that can be done in InDesign that can't be replicated in Word. That could be part of the issue.
    >And if so, she'd need to get InDesign CS3 to make her changes?
That wold be the recommended way yes. The PDF is a final product. You should always make edits to the original document rather than the PDF.

  • Can't convert pdf to microsoft word

I cannot convert pdf to microsoft word says convert failure
I cleared browser cache and still does not work
was working fine a couple of weeks ago

    Hi Nura,
Are you receiving that message for every file that you try to convert? Or is it specific to one file? Are you converting via the ExportPDF web interface, or via Adobe Reader?
Please tell us more about the file or files that you're trying to convert. How were they created? Are they complex (many pages, or mix of different fonts and graphics)?
    Best,
    Sara

  • Export File to Microsoft Word Doc fails - why?

I have Acrobat 11 Pro installed, and for the fist time tried to "Export File to Microsoft Word Document".  After invoking this, I see the "Preprocessing file for export" progress bar appear in the lower right corner of the document window, but then I receive an error dialog box that says "Save As failed to process this document.  No file was created."  Is there an additional license required to use this feature, or is there some additional configuration needed, or do I have a problem with my install?  Thanks in advance.

    Hi bk81223519,
Have you tried converting some other PDF to word and then checked.
Are you running the latest patch of Acrobat XI i.e. 11.0.10?
Please choose 'Check for Updates' option under the Help menu.
You might try choosing 'Repair Acrobat Installation' from Acrobat Help menu and check.
    Let me know.

  • Why can't I convert a PDF document to Word?

I just recently purchased the Adobe system in order to be able to easily convert PDF documents to Word. After successfully enrolling, I got a side screen that provide the steps to make the conversion. It seemed simple enough although I kept getting error messages and was unable to process the task.  What am I missing?

    Hi Jennifer,
How to convert a PDF file to Word:
Open a file in Acrobat XI.
Choose Tools > Content Editing > Export File to Microsoft Word Document.
Click Settings to turn on optical character recognition (OCR) if your PDF contains scanned text.
Name the Word file and save it in a desired location.
Please let me know if you get any error following the above steps.
    Regards,
