  • Problem converting Word to PDF

I tried to convert (2000 times) word to PDF with same file(file size:1M,pages:64) ,but 81 times had catched a same error, The error message is: Error code:1011.
    Is anyone could help me?

You will need to be very specific in what you are doing. What versions of WORD and Acrobat, what OS, etc. This is particularly important since there is no Adobe PDF Writer as a product. There used to be one under versions prior to AA6 and that may be your problem. How are you trying to create the PDF in WORD -- there is more than one way and we have no idea what you have tried to do.

  • Problems converting word in PDF, graphics

    I use Acrobat X Pro and Word 2003 SP3.
Photos change their size in the PDF.
If the photo-size was never changed in Word, the photos stay as they were, but if the size of an inserted photo was slightly changed in word, this photo is in the PDF in its "original size" (the size it had when it was imported). Of course I try not to change photo- or graphic-size in word, but I took over a big amount of word-docs with inserted graphics and photos and I do not have all the inserted photos to change their size an reimport them.
So maybe someone knows, how to change this habit. Or has a hint which settings in AcrobatX I could change. Or a hint whether I should leave Acrobat and better change settings in Word. Acrobat9 didn't do that sort of thing. So it's probably rather an AcrobatX-problem.
Either way I can't give this layout to my boss.
    Thx for help

Never had that problem. I suspect it is a word problem and you should be able to find out by printing from WORD to paper. If you want to play with a copy of the WORD file, right click on one of the graphics and select the Compress option. This will reduce the picture pixels to better fit the document. Then try a print. If this fixes the problem, then you have a potential fix and know it is a WORD issue most likely. You might consider updating WORD as well as Acrobat.

  • Hyperlink problem when converting Word to PDF

    Hi everyone.
I am using Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Standard version 7.1.4 on a Windows 2000 environment.
    I am using Word XP/2002 SP3.
I have a couple of problems when converting Word to PDF.
When converting a long link which is in 2 lines, PDF just takes one line into account, not considering the whole link
When I have hyperlinks that links to a web page, the link works fine in Word but in pdf, it gets the few words after the url address making the link not work.  For example.  I have a hyperlink that http://www.google.com/ and after this I have the words: "This is a sample text".  The hyperlink in pdf would then become http://www.google.comThisisasampletext
Do you have any ideas how I can correct this?
    Thanks.

To get the cross references, you have to use Convert to PDF (PDF Maker part of the Acrobat product). However, you first need to go to the print menu and set the printer to the Adobe PDF printer. Close the print menu and then do a reflow and link update of the document (ctrl-A, then F9 I think). This is needed to get the links correct since WORD reflows the document based on the printer (problem with them going to the wrong place).
Printing to the Adobe PDF printer (the step of print to file is not needed, just print to the printer and the rest is automatic) does not include the links. PDF Maker is a PreProcessor for the Adobe PDF printer that adds PDF Marks to the PS file before it is sent to Distiller (OK, the printer when used normally creates a PS file and then invokes Distiller to complete the process - your steps did with the Adobe PDF printer is the same process done manually).
    Summary:
    1. Fix document after setting the printer to Adobe PDF.
    2. Use PDF Maker (create PDF button)

  • Problem converting word doc into pdf

I've just installed adobe acrobat 6.0 onto my laptop
. Whenever I try to create a pdf file from a word doc it says there is a problem and will have to run in repair mode/ It then goes through the 'retrieving required info' instructs to restart the computer. Once Ihave done that though and retry, it does exactly the same thing.

There is an easy and effective way to convert word to PDF through Microsoft word 2007. You can download Microsoft Save As PDF add-in from Microsoft.com.
Also a newly release one Office 2007 Service Pack 2 (SP2) has built-in the add-in.
    1. Start Microsoft Word 2007
    2. Open a .DOC document and edit
    3. Select from main menu “Office button”->”Save As”
    4. Select “adobe PDF”.
More you can refer this column of PDF Converter, which includes some tutorials about converting PDF to other files.
Glad that you got it working.

  • Problem converting Word 2007 DOC to PDF 9

Problem converting Word 2007 DOC to PDF 9
I have a Word 2007 DOC (not docx) file with pictures and text which converted perfectly with Distiller 8. I installed CS4 Distiller 9, and now the same DOC file flows over onto several extra pages. I am using the default settings. Any idea what has changed. Thanks in advance.

First, select the Adobe PDF printer in WORD. Then go through the document to check for the flow of the document. It should print the same as you see in the document after the printer has been selected.

  • PROBLEM converting word98 to PDF

    Hello,
I'm having a problem converting word documents into PDF.
I have a word doc that includes some photos that won't
transmit in email without distoring the text and images.
So I wanted to make it a PDF so its all "fixed" and stationary.
    My OS is Panther 3.9
But my Microsoft Word 98 program I use works from Classic (9) system
For whatever reason my Acrobat (OS X3.9) isn't working (worry bout that later) but my Preview works.
I just downloaded a free "Text to PDF" convert program for Mac
it converts the text (but alters it) and won't do the pics AT ALL
plus it has a bunch of random coding poping up in it.
Does someone have the answer to this problem?
Any recommendations on some freeware program downloads?
    Thanks - coldgooseman

I appreciate all of your help.
    *TO ROAM:*
+*For the document, if you click on Print (Command + P), then choose Save as PDF, does that work?*+
When I go to Print in Micrsoft Word 98 there isn't anything that suggest it cann do that. The winnndoww comes up and there's a tab named "Print" with the ffollowing options I can scroll down & choose:
    Document
    Document Prperties
    Commentsss
    Stylessss
    Autotext EEEntries
    Key Assignments
That’s it, there's nothing anywhere in Microsoft Word 98 that I can find that will allow me to Save as PDF. Besides Print, the options if I go to "Save As" are only:
    Document Template
    Text Only
    Text Only With Line Breaks
    MS-DOS TEXT
    MS-DOS TEXT With Line Breaks
    RICH TEXT FORMAT
    UNICODE TEXT
    STATIONARY
    SPELLER CUSTOM DICTIONARY
    SPELLER EXLUSIVE DICTIONARY
    HTML Document
    WORD 4.0
    WORD 5.0
    WORD 5.1
    WORD 6.0 /95
    *TO ALLAN JONES:*
+*consider upgrading to Office X or 2004 so you can do everything in OSX. I've had no trouble making PDFs from OSX Word docs.*+
Yeah I don't have money for that one right now. But I thought surely there was a quick free download I could get somewhere that would do the job.
+*A no-cost option is to save the Word Doc as an rtf file and see if all attributes are preserved. Then open it with TextEdit in OSX and see if it still looks right. If it does, print from TextEdit selecting the "Save as PDF" option.*+
I'll see if I can do that.
+*It's probably worth your while to see if you can get Acrobat working (if it's the OSX version).*+
I swear I had a Acrobat 6 but all I find is Acrobat 3. (I've never had reason to use it until now. I always Just use Preview to look at stuff.
    *TO CORNELIUS:*
+*1. How long is this Word document and how many pictures?*+
    14 pages
+*2. Does it have a .doc extension at the end of the file name?*+
I just tried that as you suggested and it WAS a little better. That is, the image started off with the right fonts and space right but as it went on it got more and more off.
AND it still didn't show any images (just blank spaces between text bodies.)
+*3. Is this a formal or business type communication, or personal email?*+
Its formal (an official report on a trip which is why I need the photos to be viewable.)
+*4. Are you sending it as an email attachment?*+
    YES
+*5. What email are you using e.g. webmail like Hotmail, Apple Mail etc.?*+
    Hotmail
+*6. Are you booted in OS X and working in the Classic environment, or booted and working in OS 9?*+
I'm working in OSX3.9 and the Classic Version opens up in it for Microsoft Word 98

  • Not converting word to pdf

I installed adobe acrobat 5.0 on window 2000 server but its not converting word to pdf when I click by toolbal button system hangs.

AA5 is not licensed for use in the server mode. As long as Acrobat is not available for use off the server, only local use, you should be OK. Try to print from WORD to the Acrobat Distiller printer. If that does not work, then try printing to file. If that works, then open the file in Distiller to see if you get a PDF. If you do, then AcroTray is not running. It may be that AcroTray will not run properly on W 2000 Server. As I recall, some folks tried with the 2003 server and had problems.

  • When converting word to pdf the cover page of my documet gets page number 1.On the original the numb

When converting word to pdf the cover page of my documet gets page number 1.On the original the number pages start from the second page. How to keep the original format?

Michael's reponse is correct. However, as far as I knew, OFFICE 2007 came with printer metrics turned off, meaning it is not supposed to be sensitive to the printer selection. The setting is buried in the options list for compatibility. If it is turned off and a change in printer does affect the result, it would appear just one more of the many things in OFFICE 2007 that MS messed up. The latest one for me has been helping students with the messed up equation editor when you want to add equation numbers in a "standard" way. One of the MS employees even wrote a workaround macro for that problem.

  • Just converted word to PDF so that I can save on iPhone and subsequently use. Where is the file??

Just converted word to PDF so that I can save on iPhone and subsequently use. Where is the file?? I have no idea where it is!! Extremely frustrating and not at all user friendly!! Took my 6.99 British pounds and not a sausage to be had!!

It sounds like you may have purchased a CreatePDF subscription through safari, using our web interface. If this is the case, the good news is that subscription will also work with the (free) Adobe Reader. Simply install the Reader from the App Store:
    https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/adobe-reader/id469337564?mt=8
Once installed, you can then use "Open In" from another app like Mail to open the Word document in Adobe Reader. Reader will show the word doc, but it will also show you a message pointing to the "convert" button (A document with an arrow through it in the toolbar). Pressing this button should prompt you to sign into Acrobat.com. Use the same account you used to purchase your subscription and Reader will upload the word document for conversion, placing it in the Acrobat.com and Outbox section of the Reader. Please let me know if you have trouble!

  • When converting word to PDF and reducing the size, the formatting changes how can i keep the format but reduce the size?

When converting word to PDF and reducing the size, the formatting changes how can i keep the format but reduce the size?

The original file is 32 MB:
    15 MB is images
    15 MB is Content stream
    2 MB is everything else
    After the PDF/A-1B save as:
    The file is 182 MB
    Almost 100% is Images
It is an architecture portfolio with many complex images.  Is there a setting when I change to PDF/A that can limit the growth of the image files?

  • I am having a problem converting a scanned pdf file into Excel.

I am having a problem converting a scanned pdf file into Excel. I do not get the columns and rows to align, just a single column of everything. Any suggestions?

Export makes use of what is "in" a PDF.
Good export is the "silk purse" and, ya know, you canna make a silk purse from a sow's ear (which is what any scanned image in PDF is with regards to export).
The quality of export is dictated by the quality of the PDF. We are taking about the "inner essences" of the PDF (e.g., degree of compliance with the PDF Standard - ISO 32000-1).
So, what goes in goes out or "GIGO".
This has nothing to do with Acrobat or Acrobat's export process.
    A well-formed Tagged PDF (compliant to ISO 32000-1 & ISO 14289-1, PDF/UA-1) provides a PDF that proactively
    supports content export by Acrobat.
To get the good stuff from export you start with a well-formed Tagged PDF.
    Goodstuff In — Goodstuff Out
    or
    Garbage In — Garbage Out
    "GIGO"
    Be well...
