Problems creating playlists for Zen Vision M 3

This is more a problem with Media Explorer than the player itself. When I go to create a new playlist it doesn't list the music subfolders in alphabetical order. Instead, the latest stuff I've added is at the bottom of the list.
Let's say I have a Pink Floyd folder on the player and when I put albums on there I put the year of release first. Let's say I have three folders with these names.
973 - Dark Side of the Moon
979 - The Wall
994 - The Division Bell
However, if I put the Division Bell on first, then Dark Side of the Moon, then the Wall, when I go to make a playlist it will list them in the order that I copied them instead of by the name of the folder.
Is there a way to fix this?

Anyone?

  • Creating playlists for ZEN To

Just got the 40 gig Touch and love it. My problem is that creating playlists on the Zen is very cumbersome and I would like to create plylists on my PC as I can run a mouse faster than work on the zen. My zen is loaded with songs and I want to make playlists from those files. Can I make them on the synced up zen through mediasource or do I have to make the playlists and then load the songs? Hope someone understands what I'm getting at and any help would be great. Thanks in advance, Brad

It's easy. First You connect Your Zen Touch to PC, then create playlists through MediaSource, Winamp, Audio Catalyst or whatever software You wish. Of course, You have to add songs to playlist from Your Zen Touch, not PC hard dri've (otherwise how did You consider to create playlists before plugging-in Zen Touch)
For example, if You use MediaSource, follow this:
.first of all open it & find the "View" option on the Toolbar. Click on it & put the mark on "Show Right Panel" - this will give add. window to manage your playlists.
2.Find Your Zen Touch in browser, click on it & find "Playlist" sub-catalog. On the playlist toolbar click "New" to create new playlist.
    3. On the right window, that You opened in Step , find Your Zen Touch again, click on it & You will see all songs that You have in Your player.
    4. To add songs from Your player to the playlist use arrow buttons between the windows.
    I hope that will help

  • Anyway to convert m3u playlist for zen vision

i wana convert them cause i dont wana go thru 00 items and add everything all over takes forever

Avi is a container format, not a single compression format like mpeg. You will have to determine what compression method is used with the avi files, then find out if such a decompressor/compressor is available for QT for Windows. If you have a sample avi file that works with the Zen application then right-click on the file icon and choose Properties/Details. That should reveal the compression method used. The next step will be to do a search for an avi compressor for QT for Windows. Be aware that not all such compressors are available in a form useable for QT for Windows.
Of couse, it may be simpler to just get in contact with the makers of this Zen application and ask them where to get the compressors needed.

  • Creating playlists in ZEN M100

Hello, I have a problem. I want to create a playlist in zen m00, but I have no idea how to do it. When I choose 'Playlist' in menu, there's a massage: 'Please sync play list to the player'...

"Re: Creating playlists in ZEN M00?No, it doesn't. I've tried creating playlist with Winamp, Playlist creator and m3udropper. I've followed the instructions to change encoding from a ansi to unicode. Every try results in "the playlist is empty", although?when I open the playlist with notepad I can se all the songs. This is really anoying since I use the player to listen to audiobooks as well. To listen to the chapters played randomly is obviously not an option! When is the firmware update coming?

  • Can you not create playlists for apps in iTunes?

Is it REALLY not possible to create playlists for apps within iTunes?
I have over 1500 apps and I seriously need to organise them somehow...
    Any suggestions?

  • Problem creating container for filter entity

    Hi,
I have a working API gateway instance (11.1.2.1.0). But from today when I tried to access to it using my policy studio, it gives me this embarrassing error. It worked well, and the gateway instance itself is serving well.
I can stop and start the gateway instance including the node manager.
Only from today suddenly my policy studio cannot access to the gateway any more. Any idea? The policy studio can access to other gateway instances in the same version.
I tried to access from another policy studio in a different machine. Same error.
It seems the error shows up at the last step to loading filters.
There must be a dirty stuff in my existing deployment, but it is working well and I have no idea how to clean it up.

    Hi,
This does happen sometimes and usually its enough to just exit Policy Studio and connect again. If that does not work you can delete everything in your C:/OAG-11.1.2.1.0/oagpolicystudio/configuration/workspace folder (backup before doing anything) as this is just a temporary storage.
This could also could mean you somehow have managed to get an corrupt deployment (It might load ok in the actual API Server) that fails to load in Policy Studio. In the bin folder there is a esexplorer.bat file, this tool allow you edit configurations in raw format and if you find the error you could try fix it there.
    Cheers,

  • What happened to STARBUY for Zen Vision M 60 GB scheduled for today Dec 2 @10

    Hey everyone,
I participated in Nov's starbuy, didnt manage to get anything and after it, I checked back a couple of days later and saw that Dec starbuy was scheduled for today 2 Dec at 0pm for Zen Vision M (Black) 60GB. But just logged onto Creative Online Store and didnt see the link for Starbuy. Anyone know what happened to it's? Does this mean no more starbuy from now on?

I also was eagerly watching for the starbuy that you have referred to on Dec 2 at 0pm. I must say I'm disappointed with what Creative has done. Sure, they have every "right" to withdraw their offers but they did not bother to inform the public about it. I personally checked the website patiently from 9pm to 030pm thinking that maybe they were getting ready to upload the website with the starbuy. But NO the stupid link kept going back to the creative homepage. And they sneakily removed all the advertisements to the starbuy.
What p**ses me off even more is that if you check today, they have sneakily changed it to some "SoundWorks 500DAB" which is a new item but nobody's ever heard of before or is probably interested, compared to the ZVM 60GB. It's quite big (it's not a mobile player, .92kg, looks more like a mini-compo) and only plays "Digital Audio Broadcast" (what's that?) and FM Stereo. Hello Creative? What era is this? Who wants to buy this only to leave it at home to listen to the radio or DAB? It's not mobile, it can't play MP3s or video or photo. Or even CDs.
    Check it out at sg.store.creative.com/starbuy
Why they decided to pull the ZVM beats me. I have no idea. And why Creative has started selling what looks like basically an expensi've radio (ie, they are going back in time) beats me even more. As echoed by many Internet reviewers, compared to Apple Ipod, Creative's MP3 players are pretty good and they should focus their attention on that, try to make them even smaller and longer battery life, more functions, more codecs, better screens, BUT what we see is Creative di'versifying and designing/manufacturing so much new products that they may not have a market for.
EDIT: Ok I just checked, about DAB: from Wikipedia
Digital Audio Broadcasting or DAB is a technology for broadcasting audio programming in digital form that was designed in the late 980s but which is now being introduced in many countries. The original objecti'ves of converting to digital systems were to enable higher fidelity, more stations, less inteference, mobile services and additional information such as text, although in practice the vast majority of radio stations on DAB sound worse than on FM.
In Singapore, MediaCorp's SmartRadio was launched on 9 November 999. Using the Eureka 47 DAB system, SmartRadio provides six digital-only stations and eight simulcast FM services, along with images and text to supplement the audio. Singapore was the first country to reach full DAB coverage.
My response: I still think that Creative should work on their mp3 players. They could try introducing this DAB technology into their MP3 players, maybe be the first in the world to do it. Sooner or later another company's gonna do it.Message Edited by fourseven on 2-04-200602:30 AM

  • Smart Playlists on Zen Vision:M and Creative Media Organizer Software

I come from the iPod world, where, once a playlist is created in iTunes, the playlist is transferred to the iPod, and is automatically updated each time you sync. That's why it's called "smart" playlist.
I can create a smart playlist using the Creative Media Organizer software. It automatically updates the playlist, based on the rules I defined. However, the playlist created on the Media Organizer does NOT get transferred to the Vision:M player! What's the point in that?
I can, of course, copy the smart playlist to the Vision:M manually... but there are two HUGE problems with that...
) The smart playlist becomes a "static" playlist... it does not get updated when you sync -- the music in the playlist never changes (even though the original smart playlist is updated on each sync),
    2) The software recopies the *music* back to the Vision:M each time you create a playlist! This means that it overwrites the music that was there, with the (same) music in the playlist!! This takes FOREVER, if there are a lot of titles in the playlist! This is obviously a brain-dead way of doing things! All the software/Vision:M needs to do, is to copy the actual music files that don't currently exist on the player, and then create a text file that contains the *location* of the music... in other words, an M3U playlist file! One of the (many) issues with doing things the way this software does it, is that each time a track appears in a separate playlist, a duplicate entry for that song appears in the Vision:M's music list! So, if you have 5 playlists, and each one contains "Mozart's 5th", then when you list all the songs on your Vision:M, you'll get 5 copies of "Mozart's 5th" listed! Dumb!
Any way around these problems? Can I have smart playlist that gets transferred to the player so that it contains only the songs I want? Does it *have* to recopy ALL the songs to the player, each time I create a playlist? Does it *have* to add duplicate entries to the list of files on my Vision:M?
Is the software *really* as dumb as I think it is, or am I just being a BDU (Brain Dead User)?

You can only automatically sync playlists using Windows Media Player 0 as far as I know. There's lots of other software out there that can use the Media Transfer Protocol of the Vision:M, but I'm not sure what they can do.
Creative's software is desperately lacking in the playlist sync area, so you're not being a BDU

  • How to manage playlist for Zen with Windows 7?

After upgrading to Windows 7 (with WMP2), I noticed that I can no longer make or edit playlists for my 32GB Zen with either WMP2 or the Zen Media Explorer. Anyone know if there is a solution to this, apart from installing another third party media manager?

    I have this problem too.
I can see my playlists, but cant modify them or add to them. I have been using winamp to create and modify new ones, but winamp doesnt recognise old .zpm types. Hopefully someone has found a fix for this... or better yet creative could release a windows 7 compatible media explorer.
I would gladly use another 3rd party media manager if it works with playlists properly on my Zen, but have tried many with no success.

  • Backing up playlists in Zen Vision M?

So I have a Zen Vision M, and have ended up with a wide variety of duplicated tracks on the device. I've decided, at this point, that it would be simpler to delete everything and copy them back over from my computer. However, I am afraid this will mess up my playlists, which I would rather not re-create. So I am wondering, is there some way I can back up my playlists on my computer?
    Thanks!
    Kaiti

    Hello all:
I have an idea for those who are looking to add album art:
I have yet to see if it works with the Vision:M (mine will be here next week), but I used mediamonkey to add album art to my mp3 catalog (,200+ songs). Its easy to do and you can add art to an entire album of songs at one time. It uses Amazon's database for album art. As long as you have things properly tagged its completely automated (It took me ~.5 hours to ad album art to my entire collection). It will also ask you if you want the picture to be embedded in the id3 tag (which as far as I know you do for the Vision:M). Finally, mediamonkey is a great Mp3 management tool. Its free and you can get it at www.mediamonkey.com.

  • Problems creating playlists on iPod Touch

Besides the issues of the ridiculous DRM, when I synch my new iPod Touch to the "registered" computer, I am unable to create playlists, on the iPod, to sort the music with. On my other iPod (the "classic" version) I can create new playlists by either clicking on "file" then "new playlist" or the "+" sign at the bottom of iTunes with no problems; not so with this newest iPod Touch.
Instead all these features are "grayed out" and unusable on the iPod. I'm hoping someone has a resolution to this and can help. Thanks.
    Dan

Upgrading to the 3.0 software has an answer for you.
I've been asking this same question of how to create video playlists on an iTouch since I first tried to sync my iTouch (1st gen), and all of my personal videos/playlists, with iTunes. A simple alphabetical list under Movies is not what you would expect from such a cool handheld video player - and Apple, but that's all that you got. I read in another thread in this forum that other video iPods had video playlist capabilities, but not the iTouch. What an oversight - bigger than no cut and paste in my opinion.
But if you pay the $9.95 for the 3.0 software JUST for finally getting your iTouch to recognize and play your video playlists, know this - it stinks. It's definitely not a fully thought out and developed feature - which is probably why it doesn't make any of Apple's marketing hoopla about 3.0
It's not a fully thought out feature because you go to your Music button/tab to view your video playlists. Duh? - the Music button?, why not the Videos button? Your iTouch with 3.0 sees them as just another music playlist. You don't even get the little video screen icon with your video playlist. You finally get that icon when you select the video playlist - if you named it well and remember which playlist to select. Oh well, at least the iTouch is *FINALLY SUPPORTING video playlists* - just go to your Music library to find them.
If you want to use your iTouch as a fully functioning video player to quickly access your personal videos and show them off, let me know, I'm working on an app.

  • Video conversion issue for zen vision m 3

hi all im brand new to the forum. i seem to have 2 issues.firstly i cant find any free software to convert dvd to a file format supported by my zen vision m.anyone have any ideas?secondly (and this is the big one), i am really disappointed with the video feature of my vision.i had a zen micro before and thought it was fantastic.software was great, menu system was great.so when it was time to upgrade there was no question it was going to be a creative again.but when it comes to the supposedly supported video file formats i feel i've been duped.if i use the video converter in the software (for avi from my camera to wmv)?it tells me theres no audio.it wont work with mp4 files at all.that just freezes my zen.why do they claim it supports mp4 when it doesnt ?has anyone got this problem too?i have the latest firmware upgrade so it cant be that. thanks folks

I use AVS Video Converter from http://www.avsmedia.com/. I think it costs about $30 if I remember right. It converts practically?everything that isn't protected. They even have presets for the Zen Vision, although not for the Vision:M or Vision:W. However, it lets you easily make your own presets. The program is fast and very easy to use once you learn it. However, there is a bit of a learning curve. It has a good, simple interface but they don't hold your hand. The help is also very good. I've been using it for about 2 years and I'm glad I have it. By the way, I'm a customer of theirs and I don't get anything out of posting this. Barry?

  • Problems downloading firmware to Zen Vision:M... PLEASE HE

?I have had 3 different Creative products, and they all have left me unsatisfied. The first Creative player that I owned was a Christmas gift from my parents, it was a Zen Micro. I believe I got it in 2005. I loved this music player. It was easy to use, and the sound quality was excellent. In 2006, I purchased a Zen Vision:M. My only complaint was that the screen scratched very easily, but that problem was easily prevented with a screen cover. However, it began to delete my music, over 800 songs at a time. And, however hard I tried I could not get it to cooperate with my new Windows Vista computer. I am quite young, and have no knowledge of computers (although I am a master at PowerPoint), so all of the helpful tips provided here on the message boards are/were of no help to me. So now, my "baby" is sitting in its box waiting to be fixed.
After my new player (Zen Vision:M) crashed, I went back to using my Zen Micro about 2 weeks ago. Within the past week, it has started to freeze up when I turn it off and I have to resort to taking out the battery, and I am always afraid that I will lose songs when it re-builds the library. Just now I plugged it in to my Windows XP machine, because I cannot get it to work on my Windows Vista, and it wasn't recognized so I had to take out the battery and try it again. Luckily it worked... but I still do not know what to do. Creative is only going to fix my player, and this is of no help to me because I will not be able to download all of my songs I had on it before.
Being a teenager, music is my life, and my mp3 is the air I breathe. ( I am not that weird, I am just using this point to emphasize my problems.) I am so frustrated with these products that I am about to just give up on them all together. So... this "life history" ends with my true question. I know that there are zillions of posts on this message board dealing with the same issue, but how exactly do I get my Zen Vision:M recognized on my Windows Vista computer? I am willing to try to fix this problem on my own, one last time, but first I have to get my player recognized by my computer. I erased the firmware, which was what I was told to do by other owners of Creative products, ( I have no idea what?firmware is anyway ), and my Window's XP and Window's Vista machines would not recognize it so I could download the new firmware. Maybe there is an easy solution to this problem... but I need help. Once I accomplish this, I will no longer need to use my Zen Micro, so I will no longer have a problem with that device. Help me please. I need easy steps, because like I said, I am not computer savvy.

  • Will my old wall charger for Zen Vision:M will work with the (New) Z

i bought a wall charger from amazon for my Zen Vision: M 30GB, will it work with the (New)Zen? i just bought the Zen 6 GB and it doesn't comes with an adapter, pretty bad move there, well, does it has the same plug? i hope it's compatible. thanks

    sebastiankf,
That third party adapter from your Amazon link is hard wired specifically for the Vision:M and will not work with any other Creative player unless it has the same pin-outs using the same docking interface. The Creative AC-5V adapters will either have a coaxial power plug connection that will work with most of the Creative hard disk based players, except for the original NJB and Zen Micro, or a USB Mini-B plug that will work with all of the flash players that have a USB connection and the Zen Micro.

  • Car Kit for Zen Vision

Okay, so my previous post didnt seem to have a message..
Is there a car kit to play music from the creative zen vision m in your car?
I have a CD player in my dash, not a tape
    thanks!

    boltoncalling,
If you don't have a tape player in the card, the other options would be to connect directly, or use an FM transmitter.
Connecting directly is only possible if the stereo has that option. Some have an auxiliary input on the front, others have an input on the back, but some don't have an input at all. Check the manual for your car stereo if you can to see if it has any mention of an input. It might be on the back of the unit so you might need an adapter from the manufacturer.
The other option is an FM transmitter, with this you use that device to essentially transmit a signal from your player, that your radio can pick up.
