Problems creating software components in SLD

Hi,
I am using <b>NW2004s SP06</b>.
While configuring NWDI, I was defining Product and Software components in the SLD.
1) I am unable to create products for SAP Systems in the catalog. Whenever I select a new product the message always says new product for non-SAP system.
2) <b>I am unable to create software components for products for non SAP systems. Whenever I try adding new software components I get an error on the production state</b>
<b>Value not allowed by VALUEMAP for property SAP_SoftwareComponent.ProductionState:Released</b>
This is the same error when I choose all the listed Production states: (Eg: Planned, Developed etc)
Please help

Forgot to add..
Application Server-Java (J2EE engine), DI, SLD etc are all on a single machine..

  • Unable to load software components from SLD

Does anybody know why I cannot import my software component into the Integration Repository? The IR displays the software components that are in the SLD but when I click on the software component that I want to import it gives an error message "No authorisation to import". Does anybody know exactly what role is required to be added to my userid? Many thanks.
    Warren

    hi warren,
You dont have suitable SLD rights for importing Software components
    check this link for authorizations
    http://www.erpgenie.com/sap/netweaver/xi/xiauthorizations.htm
i think u might require SAP_SLD_ADMINISTRATOR roles for your user

  • XI products and software components in SLD

We are starting to implement XI in order to exchange messages between R/3 systems.
Is it better to create a custom software component within the standard SAP R/3 Product (in the SLD), or do you suggest to create also a custom product (even if the systems involved are SAP systems) ?
Which are advantages and disadvantages ?
    Thanks in advance.

I am not sure if the question is answered. I am trying to see what is correct. SAP appear to say build under the specific Product supplied. Or else, what is that used for ?
I am not a seasoned XI developer by far, however, upon reading XI books and documentation, i see that S/W components are attached to Products, and the Products are Imported into the Intergration Builder. I have also seen, and been told, that it is common practice to create a Product that reflects the Project, and then attach the S/W components under that, for which XI would be interfacing. For example, if I were working on a new project, say, "myProj" I would create a product called "myProd", then attach the S/W components involved, say, CRM under that. When the Product gets imported into the Intergration Builder, I continue my developments under a new namespace, that is under the Product "myProj".
    Is this right?
In reality, "myProj" is not a Product, it is a project.
    I hope this is clear
    thanks

  • Importing Software Components into Integration Builder (Design)

    Hi
I have successfully installed XI 3.0 and have done post installation configuration.  Could you please point me 1.  how to apply the patches specified in the document
I have created Technical system and Business system to associate with it. Now I want to import those software components from SLD into my design time Integration Builder.  While I do this I am gettin an error "Interal Occured" - Details of the error list 2 numbers one being Null Point Exception.  Could you please tell me what could be the possible problem and the way to resolve.  Is there a do it yourself kind of a document to learn development in XI, ie step by step instruction right from Data object, message object, interface object, business scenario creation etc.
    2. Is there a special step to follow to get the Adapters link up and running withing XI 3.0 web browser. Cos. at the moment, its invoking another window with local port number followed by :800, but it has an error saying "File Not found"
    Please reply, really appreciate it.
    Best Regards
    Shiva.

    Hi Shiva,
your second problem should be resolved, if you apply all available Patches to XI 3.0 (i.e. until SP Stack 03). I guess, that also the internal error in Integration Builder will be resolved by applying the patches.
There is an OSS note 670388 that explains how to patch XI 3.0. It should explain all your questions towards patching.
I would suggest to apply all patches and then check again, if those errors mentioned still exist.
    Best Regards
    Christine

  • Unable to create software component version

    Hello All,
I am unable to create software components for products for non SAP systems. Whenever I try adding new software components I get an error on the production state

    Hi,
I had the same problem reg. SLD used in my SAP XI system (a NetWeaver component).
You should upgrade your Java part of the application to Service Pack-SP (at least) 5. I found more information in the SAP Marketplace:
    https://websmp209.sap-ag.de/upgrade
    https://websmp209.sap-ag.de/sp-stacks
    and the Support Package Guides:
    https://websmp209.sap-ag.de/instguides (under SAP Netweaver -> Realease 2004s -> Maintenance)
These links could be also helpful to you.

  • Product and Software component in SLD

    Hi,
What is the basic concept of product and Software component.I have few questions.
If our company is going for Sap implementation of ISmedia
and XI as middleware for interfacing with other systems then what do we need to do for product and SWC.
Do we need to create a third party product and SWC for this project in sld?
We can create differnt Software component under the existing Product of SAP ISM
    What are the best practices
    Thanks,
    Naveen.

    Hi,

  • Software Components for XI in SLD.

I'm starting with my first project in XI, and I have the following doubts.
The SAP ERP systems are loaded as Technical Systems into the SLD with their products and software components, which are contents of Content Repository of the SLD. If, for example, I have to develop a scenario in XI to integrate my SAP ERP system with a legacy system, if I create a new Software Component version to create the XI design objects I need for the SAP ERP side, should I create and assign a new Product version with this SWCV to my SAP ERP Technical System, or I could use it without doing that, and make the connection with the system directly in the Integration Directory?
If anyone has information or tutorials about best practices for creating Products and Software Components depending on the scenario to develop in XI, that would be a lot of help for me.
    Thanks in advance
    Sebastian Pereira.

Yep you can ...Software component takes part only in design time...at configuration time You need to import the Business system in Integration Directory..
    Configuration time activity:
    1. Create Technical and Business systems in SLD( Business system should be associated with this Technical system only)
    2. Now import Business System from tool menu item of ID
    3. Right lick and Create a scenario in ID
    5. Under this scenario you can see the configuration objects you need to configure an create..these objects
PS : Don't forget to activate the objects in ID
Let me know if you want further clarification of thoughts..

  • Unable to add software components while creating track

    Hi All,
While creating a track for ESS, when I try to add software components, I do not see the list of software components to be added. Any idea ??
    Thanks,
    Tom

    Hello tom,
this could be because you have not performed the following step
You have not imported the SLD content. You can do this by going to http://servername:port/sld and login as a user who has SLD_ADMINISTRATOR privilieges. Then click on Administration and choose import (under the content section)
    Hope that helps

  • No software components will be imported from SLD

    Hi!
I have defined a dummy software component in SLD and assigned them the Business System A.
When I try to import this software component from Integraiton Builder --> Tools --> Transfer from System Landscape Directory --> Import Software component versions I get the error:
    No object found.
I also tried to clear SLD Data Cache, but this action does not help.
Can some one help me to solve this problem?
    Thank you very much!
    regards
    Thom

what are the parameter you had given for defining the Software Component Version... if  u had given any sap restricted names,, then it might be possible... what did u give for vendor?

  • Message interface does not exist in any software components

    Hi masters,
I'm having problems with this message in my repository when I try to create an Interface determination with two interfaces mapping: "Message interface does not exist in any software components installed on this business system".
note: I have read all the posts about this problem but nothing has solved it.
I will describe more or less how is my SLD.
First all, my Technical System is an Web AS ABAP (non a third party).
I have created two receivers determination, with out problems, then, created the interface determination, with two Inbound interface, BUT, when I create a condition, the message appears, and the XPath doesn't shows the nodes for do the condition..
I have checked the GUID, and that's good.
NOTE: I have a second SWC but this is a third party... and when I test to do the same in this system, I have NO problems... so.. what is wrong with the Web As ABAP?
    Regards and thanks

    did you mean:
SLD -> Technical System->Technical System Type: WebAsAbap-> Installed Products->Add New Product and add my Software Component???
if is this, I have already done this, and still doesn't works.
    Thanks
