Problems deleting an album previously synced from pc

Hi, I have read several threads on the subject, and all seems simple, but I can't get it to work!
I go to iTunes, select photos, uncheck the sync photos box, and get a popup saying " iTunes will no longer synch photos on the iPad. D you want to keep or remove photos previously synced to your ipad?"
I hit "remove photos", the pop up goes, and then I sync.
The album is still there, now....I am old, but not usually this stupid.....what am I doing wrong please?

Ios is 6.1.3
Thanks for the quick response.  I have tried the settings, general, useage, photos route, got to the delete button, hit it...album is still there!
As you suggest, I suppose the next step is to try syncing from an empty folder, and/or renaming the folder on the pc to retain the images there, and deleting the folder that was originally synced.
Seems a long way round though, and frustrating to have to go that route.
Cheers

How do I restore NOTES that were deleted during an itunes sync from Mac mini to iPhone 5?

I should mention that my notes were not being sent to icloud, my mac's time machine was not set up, and my latest back-up was 3 months ago.

  • HT4236 Problem deleting photo albums from device - previously synced from PC

I am unable to delete synced photo albums from my device and do not know why. I have changed my settings when syncing to try and remove the photo albums but the albums are still on my iphone.
I cannot delete the albums manually on the device either.

You have to deselect the albums/folders/photos, under the photos tab in iTunes, then hit the "Apply" button to remove synced photos from your phone.

  • I have approx 600 photos on my iPad which I cannot import onto my pc because they had been previously synced from a pc which I no longer have. I wish to transfer these photos to my new laptop and delete from my iPad can anyone help me?

I have approx 600 photos on my iPad which had previously been synced from a pc I no longer have. I want to get these photos onto my new laptop and remove them from my iPad. Can anyone help please? Thanks

To copy photos that were originally synced from a computer you will need a third-party app on your iPad such as Simple Transfer which can copy them off via your wifi network. But as photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to the iPad, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they were on your original computer.
In terms of then deleting them from your iPad, if you connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes and select an empty photo folder on the Photos tab in iTunes and then sync it, that should remove those photos from your iPad.
Have you synced the iPad to your new computer yet ? If not then you might find this user-tip for syncing to a new computer useful : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141
And there is also this page for recovering content (e.g. music copied from CDs) from a device if you don't have a copy of it on a backup or your new computer : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991

  • How to delete photo albums previously synchronized with iCloud

I previously set my iPhone to enable photo streaming. I also set iTunes to backup to iCloud. After a while, I decided to revert to back up and sychronize with my PC. I also disabled photo streaming.  Prior to this change, my photo albums got uploaded to iCloud including a particular album which I subsequently deleted from my PC photo folders. When I tried to synchronize through iTunes, the album will not get removed in my iPhone, even if it is no longer in my PC photo folder. I assumed it got stuck in the iCloud but I have already disabled photo streaming and this was supposed to delete all photos in iCloud.
I tried all sorts of suggestions, but short of restoring, which I find such a ridiculous solution because it would delete all my data and all I wanted was to delete this one empty folder. Eventually I stumbled upon a simple yet effective one. Here's what I did:
    1.  Connected the iPhone to my PC which fired up iTunes (I set this as my default).
    2.  Clicked on my iPhone under Devices.
    3.  Under Summary, selected Backup to this Computer.  [This is to make sure I have a most recent backup of my iPhone files]
    4.  Clicked Sync button.
    5.  Clicked Photos tab (rightmost tab)
    6.  Unchecked Sync Photos From box.  [This will delete all photos in the iPhone]
    7.  Clicked Sync button again.
    8.  When sychronization finished, ejected the iPhone from iTunes by clicking on the eject icon to the right of your iPhone's name.
    9.  Went to Photos in the iPhone. Only Camera Roll and the empty Album appeared.  I clicked on Edit and a red (do not enter sign) icon appeared to the left of the empty Album name. Tapped that and proceeded to delete the album. No more albums would be displayed.  [Note: The red icon did not show up previously when there were other albums listed.]
    10.  Reconnected my iPhone to PC, starting up iTunes.
    11.  Went to Photos tab.
    12.  Checked Sync Photos From box again. [This will restore all your selected photos/albums to the iPhone]
    13.  Clicked Sync button again.
    14.  When synchronization finished, ejected the iPhone from iTunes.
    15.  Checked the Photos album.  The empty folder is no longer there!
Hope this helps others with a similar issue.

If these are albums that were synced from your computer via iTunes then you can only delete them by unselecting them on the Photos tab when your iPad is connected to your computer's iTunes and then syncing, they can't be deleted directly on the iPad.
If these are albums that you have created directly on the iPad in the Photos app via the Edit button, then you can delete them by tapping the Edit button and then tapping the 'x' that appears on the top left corner of the album

and there's no delete button on my phone

    And in a basic term

    Hello Kate,
Follow these steps to delete the photos on your iPhone that were synced over from your computer (be sure to just check albums that you want to sync or don't do not check any albums if you don't want any photos synced over):
To delete synced photos and videos
In iTunes, select the device icon in the Devices list on the left. Click the Photos tab in the resulting window.
    Choose "Sync photos from."
On a Mac, choose iPhoto or Aperture from the pop-up menu.
On a Windows PC, choose Photoshop Album or Photoshop Elements from the pop-up menu.
Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections you want to delete.
    Click Apply.

  • How do I delete an album of photos from iphoto?

How do I delete an album from iphoto?

Deleting Photos from an iPhoto Library
1 - from an Event or the Photos mode: select the photo(s) and use the Delete key to move the photos to the trash bin. Then empty the iPhoto Trash bin as follows:
2 - from an album, smart album, book, slideshow, card, etc.: select the photo(s) and use the key combination of Command+Option+Delete to move the photos to the trash bin.  Then empty the trash bin as above.
NOTE: deleting a photo from an album, slideshow, book, etc., with only the Delete key only deletes that photo from that item. Deleting a photo from an Event deletes ALL occurences of that photo in the library.

  • My Apple TV is having problems with slideshows for photos synced from iTunes. How can I make it play thew whole slideshow without starting the loop again half way through?

My Apple TV randomly returns to the beginning in the middle of the slideshow for no reason. I don't habve the photos on shuffle
I started the slide show many times and somtimes it got through 20 photos, other times 50. Then all of a sudden, it goes back to the beginning and starts again. It's so frustrating as there is no reason for this and it doesn't loop back to the start on the same photo each time. I have about 350 photos in the album and they all loaded fine as thumbnails before I played the slideshow.
    Can anyone help please?
    Thanks, Adam

Have solved my own problem. My PC sits on the floor so I have a four-port USB hub on my desktop with one port in use. I use one of the other three ports for USB-related task. As I was shutting down for the night I had a - what turned out to be inspired - thought about whether there was an adequate power supply from the hub. I then tried the iPod USB connection directly into the front of my machine and everything worked. It seems that an inadequate power supply was the cause of this strange set of conditions.

  • Albums & Events sync from Aperture - why?

I transfer photos via Aperture, where they are contained in Projects and Albums. Most of the time, under the Picture app on the iPad, they are on a page listed as Albums.
Sometimes, though, they are listed under a page called Events.
Does anyone know why is this, why is there is not consistency?

I should have gotten back here earlier.
I think it was operator error, in part.
First, though, for no reason I can figure out, Projects from Aperture would occasionally come across to the iPad as Events, rather than Albums. My work-around: If there are any Projects that end up as Events, create a new Project, remove the photos from the old Project, and put them into the new one. Then try to transfer photos again.
I also had trouble getting photos out of what I thought were sub-albums into Album on my iPad. These photos would show up in an Event folder on the iPad. I think the problem may have been that I created folders rather than albums. Folders seem to transfer to the iPad as Events, while Albums transfer as Albums. So it might be operator error - make sure than photos in Aperture are being transferred out of Projects or albums, and not out of folders.

  • IPhoto albums not syncing from computer to iPhone

I can't sync selected albums from iPhoto on my Mac to my iPhone.
First I connect the iphone to the Mac, then select certain albums under Photo on the iPhone.
It goes through the entire sync process, which takes several minutes; however, the selected albums do not appear on the iPhone.

You are still under Snow Leopard, and basically iCloud is not supported.
Are we talking about iCloud calendar, or Gmail calendar ?
In any case, I would advice you 2 things :
    1 - update to 10.6.8
    2 - check iCal parameters for SN http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-57511534-263/how-to-set-up-icloud-services- in-snow-leopard/

  • I am having problems deleting Direct Messages on Twitter from Firefox and need a solution to the problem

Yesterday when I attempted to delete DMs from my inbox on Twitter I was unable to do so. After doing a little research, I find out that Twitter changed their policies for 3rd party applications which accesss DMs and to contact the owner of the app as far as how they will fix the problem

    BOB we need you urgently
Perhaps Bob will see this thread, he is the professor in these cases.
You do not use a WEP password but wpa/wpa2 on router and equipment.
All equipment connects to WiFi, but for your iPad.
Even with all other equipment WiFi off, you cannot connect your iPad.
Your iPad connects to other WiFi nets correctly.
All resets etc done on iPad and Router.
Still I am not sure it is your router for sure, frustrating...
I want to test 2 other things:
    1. in your iPad, set everything OFF in Settings/Cellular, turn off/then/on your WiFi, and see whether it will still not connect...
    2. If that does not do it: disconnect the router as well as the modem from the power, for 15 seconds, then reconnect the modem, let it fully start, then reconnect the routet let it fully start, turn of your WiFi in iPad, then on, and see whether it will connect.

  • How to manually delete and album from iPod Nano v 1.1.3

    Dear Forum Members:
I want to manually delete an album or two from my iPod Nano. I am have trouble getting iTunes to sync as the sync button is grey in iTunes 11.3 (on XP OS / Desktop). I don't know how to delete an Album to free up space on iPod Nano either. I just want to occasionally swap out a CD from my iPod Nano (i.e., delete one Album, add one, and so on).
My iPod Nano is completely full and has no capacity to add new Albums, yet the iPod still works and I don't want to throw it away.
    Please help!
    Thanks,
    CB

    Hi cbbond,
It sounds like you want to remove some but not all of the music from your iPod nano. If you choose to Manually manage music and videos in iTunes, as shown in the article below, you can choose to delete specific albums and tracks from the device.
Managing content manually on iPhone, iPad, and iPod
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1535
If you're still unable to delete the specific album after setting up manual management, try restoring the iPod and syncing music to it again.
