Problems downloading an ebook

Hi! I have a problem downloading a ebook on my device. I bought a book from an online bookstore and I have it on my adobe digital editions shelf but it does not let me copy it to my device. When I try to do so, it tells me the pc is not authorized to copy the file on the ereader. When I try to authorize the pc, either adobe shut offs sayin' windows encountered a problem with it or once I put the ID and password of my adobe account it says thet I cannot use on this pc an account that it has been usen on another pc. I used to have a hp and now I recently bought an acer so that I have a new pc and I'm blocked from downloading books I regularly bought. Why? Can you help me fix the problem, authorizing this pc or find me another solution for this issue? Shall I open another account? Can I do it with my same ID? Confused! PLS HELP! Thank you Anna

  • Can someone please help me figure out why I keep getting the "can not reach server" when I try to download the ebook? This is happening with Adobe Digital Editions.

When I try to download the ebook I bough, the Adobe Digital Reader shows the following message: "can not reach server".  Can someone please help me with this?
TO be precise, it says "licensee server communication problem"
    Thank you

The thread running through your explanation has to do with connectivity to your server. (iCloud out of the blue asking for password, unable to message your boyfriend, unable to access e-mail). You said that you boyfriend restart his device and then the two of you were able to then imessage. My best advice for you would be to go to settings to reset to reset network settings. Once this has been done you then will need to enter the name and password of your wifi. ONce this is done you then can attempt to check to see that all passwords are enter correctly.
    Good luck.

  • Error when trying to download an Ebook E_ADAPT_INTERNAL

First off I have googled and searched the forums and my exact error message is no where to be found (google turns up nothing, which is a first for me O_o).
That said I am getting this error when trying to download 4 Ebooks (part of a series):
    license server communication problem: E_ADAPT_INTERNAL
the first Ebook of this series downloads just fine, but the rest all throw out that error.
contacted Adobe support and Direct2drive's support but am still waiting for replies.
anyone know anything about this error and what causes it?

This is most likely an error on IGN's (Direct2Drive) servers.  Your best bet to resolve the problem will be to work with their Tech Support.

  • Download unsuccessful message when I try to download an ebook to my PRS-T3 from Kobo or public library.

I bought a new PRS-T3, installed all the new software using the new Reader for PC software on my Windows-7 system. I can sideload ebooks from my PC to the PRS-T3, but I can't download ebooks directly to the PRS-T3 via my home wifi connection. When I try, I get a 'Download unsuccessful' message, but no details about why it was unsuccessful. All the settings look fine to me, but I can't seem to download any ebooks. Anyone have a solution to this problem?

Well... here I am making the 1st reply to my own entry about this problem.
Sadly, I don't have a resolution to the problem, and the problem persists.
For anyone who does find their way here, and might be interested... I did receive an email from the Sony "post-sales support" people, with some kind of "canned" response. It was obvious from the text that they had not read, or perhaps did not understand the details I provided in the email I had sent them. Their email suggested installing the latest updates (I had already told them this had been done) and some other equally helpful things. The final suggestion was to phone their customer services team. I did this, but the people I talked to were not "technical", and could only go down their list of trouble shooting things, such as a request to turn off the wifi router and turn it back on again. They could not provide any explanation of the 'Download Unsuccessful' message, or suggest anything to obtain more details about the failure. However, they have "escalated" my problem to the next stage, and now I'm waiting for someone to ring and tell me what is required to have my PRS-T3 repaired.
Sorry if you were hoping for an answer to this problem. I suspect the answer is a replacement PRS-T3, or a Kindle.

  • When I try to download an ebook to ADE I get this message:  Error getting license,

When I try to download an ebook to ADE I get this message:  Error getting license.  License communication problem:  E_AUTH_BAD_DEVICE_KEY_OR_PKCS12

ADE may have your authorizations confused.
Try entering ctrl-shift-D (cmd-shift-D on Mac) to ADE, restarting, and then reauthorizing with your AdobeID.
Then try again to download the book.

  • Nexus 10 KitKat 4.4.4 problem downloading ADE

    Hi everyone,
First I would like to apologize if a similar question has been discussed previously.
I have purchased an e-book which successfully downloaded on my laptop but downloading on the android appears mission impossible for me. I have books on the android which are in PDF format and read them without a problem. For this book the publishes has sent me instructions regarding which I have to install Aldiko app which I did. Then to download ADE which I managed to but when I click on the link in my e-mail a window appears which is saying that due to an error the link cannot be opened.
If anyone has encountered such a problem and managed to solve it could please share his/her experience.
    Thanks for the attention!

I was thinking that Aldiko would be sufficient to read the book but the Publisher says that I need also ADE.
I am unable to transfer the book from the laptop to the Android.
Here are the instructions from the publisher:
        Install Aldiko Book Reader App
          Install
    the

  • Downloading free ebooks

Can some one help me?  How do I
download free ebooks, step by step?

I'm pretty sure from what you said that you expect me to respond, and I'll
    do that one last time.
I agree that it will take some time to establish a better concept of how to
handle publisher's privacy and copyright concerns.  That effort should be
ongoing because technology changes all the time.
I agree that there is room for improvement in the overall process of
epublications.  It's kind of like the UNIX world in software: the core is
there and everyone uses it, but they all add on or adapt pieces of it to do
the job a bit differently.  But there are parts to the whole, and it's
important to make sure that we talk about the right part, and not drag
something into the discussion under a blanket assumption.
But I still disagree with you about how bad the situation is - whether it's
B&N, SONY, Amazon, Adobe or others.  For starters, there is no 'DRM market'
because digital rights are not present in all of the material you can
download (see above re: UNIX).  Next up, unless you stay in the controlled
environment your source has established, you will have 'some' problems
because of the variation in processes outside of that environment(ditto).
That makes for a very unstable situation - with no clear roadmap on how to
    get through it.
    The bottom line:
Your digital rights problem with one ebook does not constitute an indictment
of the entire process and does not apply to every other one.  It's just one
error that you can get around.  It's not appropriate to blame digital rights
for all the rest of the problems that others have - especially on the flawed
assumption that DRM is intertwined with every aspect of using ADE.  I'd
guess that the redistributor of the ebook in question got some bad data in
the digital rights and Adobe choked on it.  That's not uncommon in software,
    but it is damned annoying.
Digital rights applies only in certain situations.  Digital rights are
created by publishers and others when they have a reason to do so as set out
in the DMCA.  And it can change from source to source.  Libraries can
establish digital rights and so can resellers/redistributors.  Errors
associated with setting up and interfacing with an ereader don't involve
    digital rights - it's a hardware-talking-with-software process.
Adobe's error detection and correction process needs MASSIVE work so that a
user can understand what happened and what to do about it.  There's nothing
worse than blaming a part of the process that isn't involved in the error
you're encountering because 'fixing' that 'problem' won't change anything
(such as deleting ADE and reinstalling it when the error is external to
ADE).  It could be your anti-virus or firewall or even your browser
    settings.
ADE itself needs lots of attention to make it more stable and able to
    recover from internal problems.
Where will we be a year or two from now?

  • Problems downloading photos from iPhoto to iPod 5G classic

Until recently I had no problems downloading my photo library to my iPod (~250 photos). However, the last couple of groups of photos I've gotten I cannot transfer. I get an error message that reads "The iPod cannot be synced. The disk could not be read from or written to." My last 3 rolls do not transfer to the iPod, although all the other photos do as well as all songs, movies, calendars, etc. Everything else is OK just the last 3 photo rolls. 2 of the 3 problem rolls were gathered from emails, but so were others that load fine. The last roll was downloaded from the BART website and will not transfer.
Anybody know what's up with this?

    Thanks again TD
I will check on the formating when I get home, I am pretty sure that I haven't used any no-ascii characters, but will double check.
Before I download iphoto library manager, I just wanted to report an interesting experiment that I tried last night that may point in a different direction:
I keep my iphoto library on a second internal HD, so I thought I would just try making a complete copy of my iphoto library onto my desktop. Once I did this, I started up iPhoto with alt and choose the desktop version of the library and all worked perfectly, my iphoto albums showed instantly in my photo tab in itunes when I selected to sync with iphoto.
My next move was to rename my old library and then copy my desktop version into the folder where the old library is. Once I did this the problem was back again.
I have no reason to believe that it is the second disc that is causing the problem, as that is where I have always kept my itunes and iphoto libraries and they have worked without problem.
(As I am writing this, it dawned upon me that I missed one important test, I should have tried the old library after I had renamed it, but stil in the same place.)
I am now suspecting that the problem may be linked to an external drive that I addded to the system at Christmas. This was a WD My Book which I use for backup, the link being that I use the software that came with it to do autobackups that includes my iphoto library folder. I am wondering if this software does something to the folder.
    Thoughts welcome.

this is from emma at https://blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjournal/2013/12/lightroom-5-3-now-available.html
I had this same error and managed to get around it by running the .msi file that the CC app downloaded to a temp folder on my own. Steps were:
    1. Find the location Adobe_Lightroom_X64.msi (in a a temp folder)
    2. Run it and install (serial number was already pre-filled out)
    3. Restart the CC desktop app
It then appeared as installed under ‘Your Apps’ and works as usual.

  • Hi I am having problems downloading and updating apps on my iPad and iPhone. The message cycles between waiting and loading then I get an error message saying unable to download app. Eventually, after many attempts it works.

Hi Guys - for a few days I have been having problems downloading and updating apps on my iPad and iPhone. The message cycles between waiting and downloading then eventually says unable to download app. Sometimes after many attempts it wil eventually work. I tested it on an old iPhone 3G and got the same problem so it is not an iOS 5 issue. My WI-FI connection is working fine. I was wondering if this is an App Store problem? Anyone else in the UK having this problem?

    Hi John
iTunes Support wasn't of any use to me.
I have also been having another problem - with BBC iPlayer and other video streaming not working due to insufficient bandwidth, despite my overall download speed being consistently around 50Gb.  This is also affecting AppleTV downloads
I am using Virgin Media as my ISP, and was wondering whether you do as well.  This might be the common thread.
