Problems downloading edge inspect

I have downloaded adobe edge inspect cc on my computer and the creative cloud says it is up to date and the icon is on my toolbar and it says it is open but does nothing. When I try to connect the adobe edge inspect plug in I get the message: cdnewhire 1, waiting for a connection. I want to view my captivate projects in inspect but for some reason edge inpect is just not working.

Hi,
Did you install all the application components required? Please follow these steps to get it up and running.
Make sure your computer and devices are all on the same wireless network.
Start the Creative Cloud desktop app and login with Adobe ID.
Ensure that port 7682 is not blocked by any other application e.g. firewall etc.
Start the Edge Inspect application on your computer. Click on the Inspect icon and check whether your Adobe ID is displayed in the menu. Also, start the Edge Inspect apps on each of your devices.
Let the devices discover the computer via Bonjour, or manually connect them by entering the IP address.
Enter the passcode for each device in the Edge Inspect Chrome extension to perform a one-time pairing process, then begin previewing and inspecting.
For details you can refer to this document: http://www.adobe.com/inspire/2012/12/web-designs-edge-inspect.html
Please let me know in case you need more information. I will be happy to help.

  • Can't download Edge Inspect on MacBook Pro, OS X 10.7.5

I am running OS X 10.7.5, but Edge Inspect tells me I'm running an OS that it no longer supports. System Requirements say OS X 10.7 or 10.8. I meet all the other System Requirements as well. Why can't I download Edge Inspect?

    Thanks for your response.
    1. This is a new installation on this MacBook.
    2. I am clicking the "Download" button at https://creative.adobe.com/products/inspect. I can only presume this is the latest version. The exact error message (in the blue button) is "You are running an operating system that Edge Inspect no longer supports. Refer to the system requirements below for a full list of supported platforms."
    3. There is no "Edge Inspect" folder in ~/Library/Preferences/Adobe/. Although there are plenty of "Adobe" and "com.adobe" files in ~/Library/Preferences/, there is no file there with "inspect" or "edge inspect" in the file name.
    4. I have a partitioned drive. There are 60.4 GB free in the first partition and 147.8 GB free in the second partition. I have 8 GB of 1333 MHz DDR3 RAM. The processor is a 4-core Intel Core i7. The video card is an NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M, on a 1920 x 1080 32-bit display. As far as I can tell, I'm well above all the minimum System Requirements listed at https://creative.adobe.com/products/inspect.
    5. This is a company-supplied computer, so I don't know everything that's been installed. Having said that, I am not aware of any anti-virus software running. I don't see anything in the Dock, or in the Applications folder. I also don't recognize anything anti-virusy in the Activity Monitor's list of processes. The Firewall in Preferences:Security & Privacy is turned off.
I do sometimes have Charles Web Proxy running, which interferes with email connectivity. But when I turn off Charles, I still am unable to download Edge Inspect.

  • No link to download edge inspect (for pc)

Does you system meet the technical requirements for the three Edge tools?
    Edge Animate: http://html.adobe.com/edge/animate/tech-specs.html
    Edge Code: http://html.adobe.com/edge/code/tech-specs.html
    Edge Inspect: http://html.adobe.com/edge/inspect/tech-specs.html
They will not show on the Apps page of Creative Cloud https://creative.adobe.com/apps if you do not meet the technical requirements. Also the same goes for PremierePro and After Effects requiring a 64-bit system, and Lightroom not being available for Windows XP.

  • Problems downloading Edge

I cant download Edge Trial through the Adobe Application Manager or the creative cloud? Comes up with an error reading 'The files seems to be corupt' trya again later. Is there another way or do you have to be a paying Cloud Customer to get free trials of Edge?

@Ken - Yes.  I've tried everything recommended.  Removing and reinstalling AAM, opening up my firewall on ports 80/443, and verified that my IT department doesn't block those ports or *.adobe.com.  I am speaking with an IT person now, and he believes AAM, being an Air app, uses TCP 1935 to communicate.  He has temporarily opened that port, and now when I run AAM, it seems to try to update itself, then bails with error A12E5:
This is the latest version of AAM (as far as I know - 6.2) that is linked above in this forum.  My OS version is Windows 7 Enterprise 64-Bit.

  • Problems downloading Edge apps

I'm trying to download Edge Code, but the browser returns a "bad URL" error that references https:localhost/. Same thing happens when I try to download Edge Animate.

Using Safari 6 under MacOS X 10.8.2, the download UI simply does not function.  Not only does the download button not work but I am unable to get the dis,iss X in the upper right to work.  Clicking away is equally ineffective.  The only escape I was able to find was closing the window entirely.
Not a good impression for those interested in the Edge suite.

  • Edge Inspect installed and running, but icon in chrome is grey (chrome version 42.0.2311.135 m). What is the problem?

Edge Inspect installed and running, but icon in chrome is grey (chrome version 42.0.2311.135 m). What is the problem?

By the way: within Edge Code CC the same problem appears (Edge Inspect seems not to be switched on).

  • Why directories including "file" (like /fileadmin in TYPO3) are not working with Adobe Edge Inspect?

TYPO3 uses a directory named fileadmin where all the user data (e.g. templates) is stored. But as far as i tested yet the word "file" in a folder name is a problem for Edge Inspect. The connected devices didn't react if i choose this folder at my iMac or MacBook. I've got this problem locally (using MAMP 2) and on a standard web server too.
At the moment i have to use a symbolic link (e.g. fadmin -> fileadmin) to use Edge Inspect in my TYPO3 templating workflow.
    Thanks
    Michael

    Hi Mark,
thanks for the quick answer. So i know it was not my fault.
After finding this bug the solution with a symlink is easy to use, so it's not a critical bug anymore if you can use a workaround like this. But it took me some time to figure this out.
I'm glad to help you guys with this really awesome tool.
    Thanks

  • Adobe Edge Inspect Chrome Plug In Gray. Stopped Working.

For some reason the plug in for chrome edge inspect stopped working. I am connected to the same wifi, I am signed into creative cloud, Adobe Edge program is on, my devices can find my computer to connect. But the Chrome Icon is grayed out and will not turn on.
I've tried reinstalling. Restarting my computer. Signing into the chome browser as the same user name as my adobe cc account. Nothing has worked so far.
Strange. Was working last week when I tried it. Was there a chrome update or Adobe CC update?

I'm having the same issue. It briefly accused me of having a trial version and recommending downloading Edge Inspect CC, but no dice. Tried similar tactics as the original poster and can connect with two devices, just can't actually use the program.

  • How to download Adobe Edge Inspect?

It maybe weekend woes, but I find it impossible to download Adobe Edge Inspect. For starters, I would like to test the free version.
    This is what I'm doing
1 )install the Edge Inspect Extension on Chrome
    2) sign up for Adobe Create Cloud
    3) go to apps
    x) edge tools & services does not include an icon for Edge Inspect
    Following this blog post:
    http://blogs.adobe.com/edgeinspect/2012/10/23/how-to-purchase-edge-inspect/
    5) Go to plans page to select "getting started"
    x) the button is disabled
Trying on the main edge inspect website
    http://html.adobe.com/edge/inspect/
    6) click on edge inspect
    7) click on getting started
    x) I'm back in the cloud apps section, without the edge inspect icon
I then downloaded the Adobe Application Manager
    x) When running there is also no option to download edge inspector
Can anyone tell me if I'm doing something wrong?

The Learn More link for Adobe Edge Inspect directs you to different pages depending on if you are signed in or not with your Adobe ID.
If you are not signed in you will go to here http://www.adobe.com/go/edgeinspect which redirects you to here http://html.adobe.com/edge/inspect/. This is information on Inspect.
If you are signed in you will go here https://creative.adobe.com/inspect and be able to download Inspect. If you are not signed in and try to go to https://creative.adobe.com/inspect you will be redirected to https://creative.adobe.com from where you can sign in or create a new Adobe ID.

  • Download Edge Code, Inspect, and Phonegap OSX 10.6.8

How can I download all three free apps: Adobe Edge Code CC, Adobe Edge Inspect CC, and PhoneGap all for Mac OSX 10.6.8?
I have seen numerous places where it shows that 10.6.8 is supported for these apps, however, through Creative Cloud (CC), it says that my operating system is no longer supported. There must be a way to download them without going through the Creative Cloud website (like a separate download link).
    Thank you!

    Thank you!
However, aren't Edge Code and Edge inspect NOT trial-based? Meaning that they wont expire/stop working after 30 days or so.
Also, I did not find PhoneGap in that link. I know the build version is part of Adobe too but the regular version from Phonegap.com downloads as a zip that I can't open. I am not sure if Phonegap is for Mac or not or if I am doing something wrong.
Is there any way to make the webpages we build on Edge Code mobile friendly? In other words, make it so their is a mobile version (not desktop version view) of the site when one visits that webpage on a mobile browser.
    I appreciate your help! Thanks!

  • Edge Inspect not available for download (mac)

I've check the system requirements, and as far as I can tell I have what it takes. MBP i7, 8GB RAM, OSX 10.8.2. But Edge Inspect is not available for download/install neither in the creative cloud webpage, or in the application manager. Whyy?

The issue should now be fixed. The direct link that you should be taken to for download is https://creative.adobe.com/inspect. From there click the Download button. Edge Inspect will not appear as an Install link in the Adobe Application Manager, you need to get it from the website.

  • Adobe Edge Inspect CC chrome plugin download failed

I  found the  plugin  on  Adobe Edge Inspect CC - Chrome Web Store  as the document tells me , but after I clicked the install button , It allways turn out fail .

Moving this discussion to the Edge Inspect forum.

  • Edge Inspect not working for domain.dev URL's running locally on my laptop, displays error message.

    "An error occured
    Web page not availiable".
This, printed on a white screen, on my iphone5 (OSX and iOS all running latest updates, latest Adobe Edge Inspect, freshly downloaded) is all I see when I try to visit any of the sites I run on my laptop with Apache.
I set up my domains as "http://foobar.dev"  (where '.dev' is the TLD on my localhost for things ... local).
I can view any public internet sites, and they will show up on Edge Inspect on my phone, with no problem.
I've tested this with turning off the firewall on my computer... (but I'm surprised thats how edge works, but what ever).
    Any guides? tricks? help?
    Thanks.

Edge Inspect doesn't do anything different to read the website off your computer than a normal browser does. We send a URL to the connected devices and expect them to be able to load that address into the WebView/UIWebView components in the Edge Inspect app on the devices. The reason you're seeing an issue with Edge Inspect and your http://foobar.dev site is the same reason why you wouldn't/shouldn't expect to type that URL into a browser on another machine and be able to view the website... there's no external DNS server to talk to that knows where that address is actually located.
So, Edge Inspect might be doing less than you thought is was in those terms. The main focus of Edge Inspect really is:
    1. Managing the connection from your computer to multiple connected devices
    2. Translating localhost, 127.0.0.1, and <machinename>.local urls
    3. Keeping multiple devices in sync
    4. Simplifying things like cache clearing and screenshots on all your devices
    5. Providing a simple interface into weinre for remote inspection
Definitely read more on xip.io. It's a public website, yes. We don't have anything to do with it, but it does provide a nice workflow for using virtual hosts with Edge Inspect.
