Problems downloading from Japan

Hi
My customer is facing problems with downloads from a beehiveonline workspace.
The customer is located in Japan and is trying to download files upto 820MB in size but finds that the download speeds are very slow and often the download does not complete successfully. Access to other oracle.com sites like support.oracle.com seem to have no problem.
Is this a known problem? Are there any alternatives for users in Japan?

We have not had any reported download issues but 820Mb is a reasonably big file. The system is not optimised for download of large files and the apporaches that other Oracle.com sites use are more to handle static data via accelerators like Akamai.
We are in the final stages of getting approval for FTPS on beehiveonline and once that is in place we hope the downloads will be faster or at least restartable so you can continue iof there is a break in the transmission for whatever reason.
What method of download is being used now?

I am having problems downloading from apple store.

I have problems downloading Adobe Revel (software) from Apple Store.
This software download up to 90% and stop, and I can´t continue download and get this kind of error "Adobe Revel failed to download. Try again from the shopping page" (this is a translation from Spanish Version of Apple Store.
I go to Shopping area of Apple Store and I can´t continue downloading.
I have a iMac (i5).

Read this whole message before doing anything.
Back up all data.
Quit the App Store application if it’s running.
Step 1
Hold down the option key and select
Go ▹ Library
from the Finder menu bar. Delete the following items from the Library folder (some may not exist):
Caches/com.apple.appstore
Leave the Library folder open. Try the App Store again. If it works now, stop here. Close the Library folder.
Step 2
If you still have problems, quit again. Go back to the Finder and move the following item from the open Library folder to the Desktop:
Cookies/com.apple.appstore.plist
Preferences/com.apple.appstore.plist
Test. If the App Store now works, delete the files you moved to the Desktop. Otherwise, quit again. Put back the files you moved, overwriting the newer ones that may have been created in their place, and continue.
Step 3
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below to select it:
test -d $TMPDIR../C/com.apple.appstore && rm -r $_
Drag or copy and paste the selected line — do not type it — into the Terminal window. You should get a new line ending in a dollar sign ("$"). Quit Terminal.
Test. If the issue is still not resolved, post again.

Problems downloading from BBC i player

My internet connection is good but even sat only 10ft away my ipad will not download from the bbc iplayer successfully. It is slow to say the least and nearly always ends in the message "download failed".
Can anyone help please?

TS3989 Problems downloading from photostream

Hi,
I've been having trouble with my photostream: I can see my images on there, but when I try to add them to an album on my device, they appear for a second and then disappear again. It's the same photos that do it on both my iPhone and iPad, and I've tried adding them to a number of different albums and the same thing happens each time. It's about ten photos, with we're added at the same time and from the same device as other images that are working fine.
Anybody else had this problem and been able to sort it out?

Thank you for taking an interest in this. I am not in the DC area, I'm in California (L.A area). I've tried downloading from work, home, and currently from a third location - all with the same result. I can't seem to break ~2.4KB/sec even though the connection I'm using is much faster than that. This only seems to happen when trying to download from NI, other sites work just fine. At the current rate, my file will take 108 hours to download. Any idea what could be causing this? I've checked the boards and nobody else seems to be having this problem other than the user who started this post.

Is anyone having problems downloading from the app store today (4/11/15)

When I tried downloading the iTunes update through the store, it would get to about 29mb after 5 minutes and then it would reset and start again. I ended up downloading iTunes from the Web site and it only took a couple of minutes to download compared to the 5 minutes or more that it was taking the app store just to get 29mb downloaded. I am now trying to upgrade to 10.10.3 from 10.10.2 and it says it will take 1 day and 14 hours to download and I know it did not take that long to get the last update. I feel that there is a problem in the app store program because as I said downloading from the internet is working at a much faster speed.

Thanks R.W.R but what I was saying was that I did get 10.10.3 installed using the standalone download instead of the app store. Because I tried using the app store several times to do the update, I know have 10.10.3 showing up five times in the updated in the last 30 days section. I guess after 30 days it will go away, I just didn't know if there was a way to clear some of the duplicates out before then.
On the bright side, the 10.10.3 seems to have fixed the folder action issue. I can now use folder actions again which I really missed. I compared the folder action plist now with the older plist and noticed they are handling the folder actions differently now. They are now using osa scripts and dispatcher ticks to run the action. So far it seems to be behaving itself and not trying to gobble up all the memory in the system.

Problem downloading from the application server

I am using datasets to write a file onto the application server. but when i tried to download it on the dsktop its giving me a dump saying the file cannot handle more than 75mb of data. What wuld be the solution for this problem.

Problems downloading from "my downloads"

I lost my DRM-Folder while installing Windows again.My "Nokia comes with Music" - now OVI-unlimited-Music- expired. When I wand to listen a song, i must download it again. There is no other availibility to get the DRM-Rights. I think, this is no good solution. The list
"my downloads" now with OUM is much worse to handle than it was with NCWM. And after finding the album i need the DRM-rights for, I can download th whole Album again, but then I will not get any DRM-Right for any Song. That´s not only difficult, that´s absolutly "Sh..t"! I have to download song by song. And then, when I have clicked one song, the song will donwload. When I want to have another song, then first I have to change the side, may be next or previous, then I have go back to the side with my song and then I have to click there again. Next song, same procedure: Changing Side, coming back, clicking again, and then the same procedure again.
I think, this must be a program-bug. From my care-Team i have got no answer for this problem.
Has anybody else a similar problem? Was it solved by Nokia? Or am I the first?

No memory cards. I figured it out. I needed a Firewire 9-4 pin cable. I hooked up the cable and as soon as I turned the camera on, my Mac Book Pro recognized the camera and opened the program automatically to download the video.

Problems downloading from Sourceforge mirrors - workaround

Today i tried to make a package that needed to download the sources from sourceforge.
The trick in this thread http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?t=15542 , adding the ip of a good sf mirror to /etc/hosts didn't work with heanet, surfnet and belnet.
using an url like this in the pkgbuild did work

The problem with this is that you need to specifiy a certain mirror, and the mirror the pkgbuilder chooses might be slow for other users.
I've checked download urls from sourceforge mirrors and it seems they use this schema :
http://<mirrorname>.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/<projectname>/<filename>
Imo a possible solution would be to add a new envrionment variable to /etc/makepkg.conf, called something like sfmirror.
Users would edit that variable to point to a sourceforge mirror that is close to them and pkg builders could use this variable in the source url.
Before i submit this idea to the bugtracker as a change to makepkg, i'd like to hear some comments from other package builders.

I personally think the /etc/hosts solution is the best and most succinct, as it allows you to click the link and download it too. - i.e. if our web interface shows "dl.sourceforge.net" for the source, and we used the hackish $sfmirror, you would be unable to click the link. He misunderstood the way the patch T-dawg made works, but as the bug report is closed, we can't commend on that anymore.
Aur users who have trouble with sf mirrors now have 2 choices :
Use the "official" /etc/hosts solution or the workaround of using a patched version of makepkg.
Since i haven't been able to get the /etc/hosts solution working on 4 different archlinux installations (2 desktops, a laptop and a vmware VM) i'm sticking with the patched version.
Combined with sourceforges response, it means we stand at the same point as when this thread was started :
Individual users will have to change their settings by either tweaking /etc/hosts or using an unofficial patched version of makepkg to be able to build sourceforge packages from aur.
Not the kind of solution i was hoping for ..

Problems downloading from marketplace

Lately when I either download something new from the market place or try to update an existing app I get an error message that states that file to large and that I need to download with WIFI, I have an unlimited data plan and am at 4gb so far this month. Anyone else have this problem?

This is common for games and other apps that have to download a large file because you have less chance of having corrupt files when you are download something large and also the transfer speeds are usually more stable on wifi than 3g and sometimes 4g limited coverage in some areas... I recently bought 9mm game and this was required to download the files and until the connections are more stable this is a good thing that this is required..

Problem downloading from servlet in WLS6

A servlet running in WLS6 is used for downloading files. When the file is
          selected in IE5 the dialog asking what to do with the file (open from
          current location/save) opens. If the file is small enough the service
          request is handled (file written to ServletOuputStream and stream flushed &
          closed) at the servlet side BEFORE a selection in this dialog is even made!
          So if the user selects cancel from the first dialog when the actual download
          has not even started, then it seems at the server side that the user
          downloaded the file.
          How can I change this behaviour so that nothing is written in to the
          ServletOutputStream until the client is actually receiving? I have tried to
          modify buffer size and flush all the time without success!

I don't think it's possible to donwload classes from R/3 to CRM. It was possible between CRM 2.0c & R/3, but was deactivated as a standard functionality because the data models for classes in the two systems are to different.
What kind of classification data would you like to download?

Suddenly iphoto freezes and stops responding when I connect my cameras to download both photos and video. I've never had a problem downloading from these cameras before today. I have both a Nikon D700(SLR) and Kodak HD Zi8(pocket camecorder).What to do?

I've tried checking for updates (none necessary), running v 9.1.5
Everytime I open it and connect a camera I have to force quit because it stops responding and won't upload.
It's uploaded from both these cameras before with no problem.
How can I fix this?

As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

Problem downloading from adobe site PS

my system crashed had it rebuilt with windows 7 - went to adobe site to download cs4 and LR - was told to download smaller file first so did. then went to the double and tried to download part one. i'm getting error message "the file archive part of CS4 is missing. you need all parts in the same folder." what does this mean? do i have to install my cs 3 or 2 or where ever i started? Someone please advise. thank you so much!

Nope, those downloads/ installers don't care for older stuff. You may have a simple permission problem where specific temporary files cannot be stored, so try running as admin. Also choose a custom location for the download files, not the default user directory or your desktop. This also often helps to avoid issues.

I ma having difficulty downloading all of my video clips from my camcorder as it keeps saying that the start up disc is full. I have a back up apple hard drive, and mostly my computer contains photos and videos. What should I do? Cheers.
