Problems downloading in the DPS App builder

I am having problems creating my test app in the DPS App builder.
I can create and send app from (InDesign CS6) the folio builder–to the DPS App builder, but when I reach the final screen nothing appears listed under the "Downloads" area. The app type only appears as "built-in single edition app" and directs me to 'activate app' and purchase a serial number, which is not what i want to do. I just want to download it to iTunes to test it on my personal iPad.
It's the same issue from this thread..
http://forums.adobe.com/message/4786587
I followed the steps closely (installing updates to InDesign, reinstalling the DPS App builder) but it is still not working.
I'm really stuck, help!!!
Ryan

Any CC membership will do. You need to firtly go to InDesign and use the create app link from Folio builder Panel, that will launch your DPS App Builder, sign in with your CCM id and create an app. You should be able to download the build, if not then we may need to delete your previous build, send me a PM with your Viewer Builder id.

  • I'm getting the "App Activate" error when I try to download my bundles from the DPS App Builder.

I have a Single-App subscription to the Adobe Creative Cloud.
According to this FAQ (link: http://www.adobe.com/products/creativecloud/faq.html#single-app) I should be able to publish unlimited single .folios with DPS with my Single-App subscription to the Creative Cloud. Here is the exact paragraph I'm refering to from that FAQ:
As a Creative Cloud member, do I have access to Digital Publishing Suite?
Digital Publishing Suite Single Edition is not available to free Creative Cloud members. Creative Cloud single-app and complete members have an unlimited Digital Publishing Suite Single Edition license. Creative Cloud for teams members also have an unlimited Digital Publishing Suite Single Edition license.
When I build the app in the DPS App Builder and reach the end of the process, I'm getting the error where it asks me to provide a Single Edition subscription serial to download the developer bundles for my app.
I have tried all the methods described on this forum to solve this problem, including deleting and reinstalling the DPS App Builder, deleting the old apps and creating new ones after redownloading the DPS App Builder, deleting the DPS App Builder, signing out of my Folio Builder in InDesign, redownloading the DPS App Builder, signing into my Folio Builder in InDesign again, etc., to no avail.
Can anyone help? This is a time-sensitive issue and I'm trying to get this app into the Apple submission process immediately. I can answer any questions if you all have troubleshooting advice for me.
    Thanks,
    David

Thank you for the information and the response. We will be upgrading to the full version of Creative Cloud to publish our single .folio.
I do want to remark on the issues created by Adobe's inconsistent explanation of how DPS can be used with the Creative Cloud. After reading that FAQ, I also spoke with an "Adobe Agent" through the chat system that pops up on various product pages and asked the agent as specifically as I could if the Single-app version of Creative Cloud would allow me to publish single .folios through DPS. In no uncertain terms the agent said the Single-app version would be fine, and referred me to the order page to begin the order process.
I spoke with another agent over chat in the morning on Saturday and they also said I should be able to publish single .folios with the Singe-app subscription to Creative Cloud. When I presented my App Activation problem to the agent, the agent said I should just wait 24-48 hours for my subscription to Creative Cloud to process so I could create my app.
This has been a very vexing process that has cost my team valuable app review time. If I had not encountered the FAQ and two agents who specifically told me that I could use the Single-app version of Creative Cloud to publish my .folio, I would have been happy to go straight to purchasing the full version of Creative Cloud.
    Thanks again for the assistance.

  • Is the DPS App Builder available as a separate download?

I have the Creative Cloud and have installations on both my workstation and laptop. I would like to be able to use the DPS App Builder but seeing as it is not available for Windows (NOT happy about that), I have no other option but to use a Mac for that portion of the workflow. That being the case I do have access to a Mac but I do not want to have to use one of my installations on a machine that I would barely use and that is not under my direct control. I also do not want to have to do this dancing activation stuff.
Is there a way to get the App Builder separate from InDesign so that I can make my files on my own machines and then create the app on the Mac?

Zakhana, you raise a good point about not having to use InDesign on the Mac to submit your app. It makes sense that DPS App Builder works only on a Mac since a Mac is required to create the Apple certificates and submit the app. Apple doesn't allow users to do either of those tasks on a Windows machine. But if you build your folios using a Windows computer, you should be able to use the Mac to sign in to the DPS App Builder directly rather than having to go through InDesign. As you mentioned, you can authorize your Mac, submit your app, and then deauthorize the Mac, but that's extra work.
This Create App workflow for Creative Cloud members also makes updating an app difficult. I'll see if there's a way to improve the Creative Cloud workflow on Windows and let you know what I find out.

  • The DPS App Builder keep asking me to actived the Single Edition even being a Creative Cloud Member.

I'm having problems to active the Single Edition. The DPS App Builder keep asking me to actived the Single Edition even being a Creative Cloud Member. What should I do? Am I missing something?
    Tks,

You may have already resolved this, however for benefit of other members:
Follow the troubleshooting steps mentioned in this article and make sure you click on 'Create App' from Folio Builder Panel once you follow all the steps:

I keep trying to install this Adobe Air file and it will not install. Any help?

    Neil,
Funny... I don't seem to have the DPS App Builder in my Applications folder. Is there somewhere else it might exist?

  • How to change the Markting Version in the DPS App Builder?

    e.g. from 1.0.2 to 1.0

The iTunes Connect version number is what appears in your iTunes/App Store description, so you can just leave it as 1.0 and ignore the warning message you're getting from Apple when you submit the app.

  • Cannot download developer app (.ipa) in DPS App Builder

I built my articles in InDesign CC 9.2.1, previewed the folio on my desktop and iPad. No problems.
I followed the instructions in the Step-by-Step Guide to Publishing iPad apps. Created the p12 certificates and mobile provisioning files. No problems.
Built the app following the steps on page 49. Select folio... Create app... Signed in... App Details panel... Icons and splash screens... Selected mobile provision files... Create app...
    Everything worked....
But now I've hit a brick wall.
In the DPS App Builder I cannot download the developer app (.ipa) to test on my iPad...
I get a red outline around the developer p12 input field.
I've checked and re-output the developer p12 file and the password... tried again and again...
How can I fix this and move forward?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    OK it worked... fifth try...
I exported a new p12 development certificate from Keychain access (as described on pages 19-20).
Then I logged back into the DPS App Builder... Manage... download developer app (.ipa)... selected the new developer p12... and password....
... after getting a "server error"... tried again and it worked...
For the record I did not do anything different in each of my five attempts... but this time it worked and I was able to download the .ipa file to my desktop...

  • Cant sign to DPS app builder in to download distribution ZIP file

I cant sign in to DPS app builder, with the very same P12 and distribution certificate I used to create the app. the app is visible in the DPS app builder. however I just cant download it. Right before download it asks me to sign in... i define paths for P12 file and distribution certificate and i type my pass for P12 file... but after a while it returns me sign ion error message - conatantly.
Btw, my folio and article in it doenst have any special chars (only a-z). Thank you.

Try the following if you are a Creative Cloud customer:
    1) Make sure DPS App Builder is no longer running on your machine. Go to the DPS App Builder menu and make sure you quit, so it's really shut down.
    2) Sign out of Folio Builder Panel in InDesign, then close InDesign.
    3) Run InDesign and sign into Folio Builder Panel
    4) From Folio Builder Panel select Create App in the flyout menu and proceed with the app creation process.
If you are getting a signing failure, rather than a sign in failure, try the three solutions at http://helpx.adobe.com/digital-publishing-suite/kb/app-builder-error-signingfailed.html.

If you are DPS single edition user, then you need to enter serial number to activate app.
But it would be more helpful if you let us know which DPS edition you have?

  • DPS App Builder.app vs. the online App builder

Can I still build new iPad apps (and update old ones for 64 bit) using the DPS App Builder.app on my computer?
I understand that I need to use the online builder at: https://appbuilder.digitalpublishing.acrobat.com/#/login to build Android apps.
For iPad apps does it matter which one I use?
    thanks,
    Dave

Use the desktop DPS App Builder to build iOS apps. Use the Web-based DPS App Builder to build Android and Windows apps.
You can't use the Web-based DPS App Builder to build iOS apps, and you can't use the desktop DPS App Builder to build Android/Windows apps.

  • Problems with DPS app builder and distribution mobileprovision

We followed all the steps when building the distribution mobile provisioning file, but the DPS app builder won't let us get past the certificate screen. It says that our file is not "Not a distribution mobileprovision file".
The file is a distribution mobileprovision file.
    Any help or ideas?

Please PM me the e-mail ID used to activate the serial(i.e appbuilder login e-mail) and I'll reset the serial and get back to you provided the serial number was never used to publish a live app
