I tried to install 7.0, but it doesn't seem to do anything. I downloaded it and when I double click on the icon to install it, nothing happens. It gave me some security warning one time
are you getting no error messages whatsoever?
if so, do you have Norton Internet Security 2005 installed on that PC?

A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor." what do I do? • HT1222 Has anyone else have a problem downloading iTunes 11.1.4?????

Has anyone got a problem downloading iTunes 11.1.4???

Hi There. I had same problem. Go through Apple Support by phone ( no I am not an Apple person) you can leave your phone number, in minutes they call you back. Had great guy in Manilla "take over" my computer. It did take an hour but go along with it. It does work. You will uninstall I Tunes with no loss of recordings etc - guaranteed!
and re-install. Don't stress, for once Apple got it right. Appears that this update is faulty and there are issue's It's not your computer. Beware you may have got a sneeky download of MobileMe Services. May have been just incidental to main issue. If you do get it (it's not Microsoft Windows-It is an Apple Inc product) get rid of it, Uninstall otherwise it will slow things down including Outlook
    Good Luck

  • Problem downloading iTune Store tracks on NAS - "Connection Timed Out"

I am having a problem downloading iTune Store tracks on NAS - "Connection Timed Out"
I am trying to use the following for my "iTunes Music Location" - \\Nas1\media\Music\iTunes\iTunes Music
However, when I try to purchase music, I receive the following message:
"There was an error downloading your purchased music. The network connection timed out. Make sure your network settings are correct and your connection is active, then try again."
I can purchase songs, the song will begin to download, the appropriate files and folders will be created on the NAS (I can see them), it seems to make two tries to complete the download, then stops, and show me that message.
My network connection (DSL) is fine, and the network is up.
Anything I can do? Is it possible to store iTunes on the NAS, or do I have to set it up to store purchases locally?
    Thanks

  • Problems downloading iTunes after upgrading to Windows 8.1

I just upgraded to WIndows 8.1. When I opened my iTunes it said there was an update was available. I tried to update my iTunes but kept getting errors. SO i decided to try and download the update later but when I tried to go to the iTunes store I got an error saying there was a problem accessing the iTunes store and then my iTunes closed. I looked at some of the comments in the community and tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it. Now when I try to download itunes I keep getting the following error:
I am the only user of the computer and the only administrator. I tried downloading the installer and then right clicking on it and selecting 'run as administrator' and this also doesn't work.
    Please help
    Thanks

"The installer has insufficient privileges to access this directory: C:\Program Files(x86)\iTunes\iTunes.Resources\sk.lproj\Printing Templates. The instillation cannot continue. Log on as administrator or contact your system administrator."
That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Windows 8 instructions in the following document: Disk Error Checking in Windows 8
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

  • Problems downloading Itunes 7.5 or to my emac 10.3.4

Hi there. Every time I attempt to download itunes 7.5, which I have to do in order to be able to purchase music, the download gets stuck halfway, and doesn't show any signs of moving on, even after more than an hour. Would be really grateful for any ideas as to what could be causing this, and what I could do to remedy it! Thanks in advance!

Where are you downloading iTunes 7.5 from? Perhaps it's a server problem?

  • Problem downloading iTunes LP

I downloaded "The Beatles 1 Album" on my iphone and when i opened itunes, it tried to download the "itunes LP" for this album, but as it is written in the notes for this album, the itunes LP is not available in Canada. I don't care about it but now, every time i open itunes, it tells me "There was a problem downloading 1 - itunes LP / 1 / Beatles. An error occured while reading from device"
What I want is to remove that file, but i'm unable to delete it...

Don't know what happened, but when I opened my itunes today, the beatles LP file has been downloaded... I changed absolutly nothing...   may be the the rule of 80/20 applied...  when you let a problem wait long enough, it may solve by itself :-)

  • Problem downloading itunes 10.5 3

I am trying to download itunes 10. 5 3 but get the message "There is a problem with this windows installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run"
I currently have itunes 10.1 2 and my os is windows XP.

Many thanks. We've got damaged installation configuration information for ASU then.
Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Apple Software Update entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Because your ASU won't be functional again until we get a fresh copy installed, you'll need to get the iTunes installer from the Apple Website (the install using the iTunesSetup.exe from there should reinstall ASU):
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Does the iTunes install go through properly this time?

  • Problem downloading Itunes 10.5.2 :

I'm not sure if this has happened to anyone else, but I'm having trouble downloading Itunes 10.5.2.
I get the message that an update is available, but when I click on "download now", nothing happens.
I am running windows 7 home premium - 64 bit operating system, and the only virus program I have and run is "Microsoft Security Essentials", which I've turned off for the moment based on a few other posts and suggestions, but that doesn't seem to do anything for me.
If anyone can PLEASE lend a hand, I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm also reading A LOT of people are running into various problems after the update, so I'm also wondering if I should just stay with Itunes 10.5.1.42, in hopes that Apple "fixes" the problem.
Thanks again for any and all help !!!

Thanks for the info........I contacted Apple, who gave me a direct link to the download being that I have a 64bit operating system, and all seems to be well. No issues like unfortunately others have faced.
    Here's the link I was provided :

    Thanks again.

  • Problems download itunes

I have just recently purchased an Ipod Touch 8GB for my sons birthday and I am trying to get it set up for him before his birthday. When I try and download itunes it goes fine until it starts downloading quicktime and I get the following message "The Intallation of Quicktime did not complete successfully. itunes requires quicktime" then I press OK and this message appears "The installer encountered erros before itunes could be configured. Your system has not been modified. To retry there operations at a later time, please run the installer again." I have looked on my laptop and I don't have any itunes or quicktime programs on it, so I can't uninstall. Your help would be much appreciated.

Let's try seeing if we can get more information about the problem from a "standalone" QuickTime install, Viv.
Here's a link to the QuickTime installer (get the one that doesn't mention iTunes):

What error message do you get when you try to install that one?

  • Problems downloading iTunes 10.3?

    Hi,
My fiancee just recently bought me an iPod touch.   Everytime I try to plug it in, it comes up with a white cable and an iTunes icon on the screen.  When I load up iTunes, it doesn't even recognise the new iPod.  I've tried downloading iTunes 10.3, but everytime I get to a specific percentage, the download stops and won't continue.  I've been trying to resolve this since 07.30 UK time today, and still not getting anywhere fast, except along a road of pure frustration.  Does anyone have any tips they could give me as to how to resolve this?  Its a new computer and everything else works fine on it, just not my iPod touch and iTunes 10.3.
    Mr Edemia

This is getting infuriating now.  It got to 99% last night with 1 second of download time left and then crashed, and now when I try going back into iTunes download, it keeps coming up with a message on the bit where you would normally click on download that says internet explorer cannot display the web page, even although the rest of the website seems to be working.
I'm close to just returning it and going to another make of MP3 player, so far i'm unimpressed by Apple's LACK of support for this problem.  I dont see why I should pay for someone to help me resolve this when the iPod is less than a week old and was bought from a proper shop.
Does anyone have anything they can suggest before I get so fed up I go to another MP3/MP4 brand?

  • Having problems downloading itunes 10.5.2; box states windows installer issue. I have a 2005 with windows XP and service pack 2. Any ideas?

Just bought a new ipod touch for my daughter.  It won't sync without itunes 10.5.2 loaded on our computer (a 2005 HP with Windows XP and service pack 2.)  When I've tried to load 10.5.2, I get an error message box stating there is a problem with my Windows installer.  I've tried loading the windows installer hot fix KB942288-v3-x86, but it didn't help.  Any suggestion?

    Hi Lorheak,
thanks for the quick reply. I had the same idea already yesterday. I use Norton Internet Security for a long time now without any problems. I think this a Apple or Microsoft problem, because the popup window which appear come from Windows DEP. I got no message from the firewall with any problem. I check the log files from Norton and Windows already but find nothing. This is a very strange problem. In the past I have had a lot of other problems with iTunes upgrades. Everytime I accept the installation of the newest version I got errors regarding missing "msi" files.
