I downloaded iTunesSetup.exe and ran as an Admin and during the installation I get an error message that says "Could not access network location %APPDATA%\."

Apple, apparently, had a fix up for an earlier version of itunes, but that is gone from the web page, and has been yanked.
Yes, there are big problems with iTunes for Windows. Until these are rectified, your Ipod will be a paper weight.

  • Problems with iTunes and Windows Vista

I just got a new dell computer that came with Windows Vista. I'm new to Vista, and just downloaded iTunes. I was able to add my music and it will play, but I can't edit track information. I downloaded iTunes from the administrator account, so I don't know what the problem is or how to fix it. Please help!!

For windows vista, like someone suggested, it may change your permission for editing a file and appear grey screen. As such, the following step might solve this problem.
Go to "Computer", go to your portable hard drive, right click and go to "Properties". Select "Security" Under the "group and user names" choose your user name. To change the permission, choose "Edit" Under permission column, choose "Full Control". After this you may able to edit song information in your itunes.

  • Error message while trying to download Itunes for Windows Vista.plz help!

I've been trying to install itunes 9 on windows vista system. During the install, it says "error occurred during installation of assembly policy 8.0.microsoft.vc80.CRT, version 8.0.50727.403 type win 32 policy public key token=1fc8b3b901e18e3bprocess architecture=x86 Quicktime installs OK, but Itunes install is interruped -- Apple Support install portion is rolled back after this error pops up. I went thru suggested Apple troubleshooting options, got same error. Ran install as administrator from desktop, also did not work. Tried installing both thru apple software updater and directly from Apple website -- still get error. I am also having trouble downloading new updates for my computer, has anyoone exp this?? I am so frustrated, I have a new nano and can't use it

    Interesting.
Okay, let's try some general principles troubleshooting with this one, then.
    (1) Do you currently have a copy of the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package installed on that PC? If so, try downloading the following security update:
[Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package ATL Security Update|http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=766a6af7-ec73-4 0ff-b072-9112bab119c2&displaylang=en#filelist]
Does iTunes install for you after applying that update?
    (2) If no joy there, head into your Windows Update and click on the Update History. Have a lot of Updates also been failing for you recently? If so, doubleclick on the entries for the failed updates to bring up more information on each. What error codes appear for you for the failed updates? (Precise spelling, please.)

  • How to download itunes from windows vista to mp3 player

how do i download itunes i purchased from windows vista pc to mp3 player? is there a free download i need to install in my computer

The Music you purchased from iTunes are AAC (m4a) format. Depends on whether your MP3 player will support this format. Otherwise you can convert thses AAC format into mp3 format so that you can transfer those mp3 files to your MP3 Player.
Go to Itunes menu, EDIT > PREFERENCES, GENERAL tab. Go in IMPORT SETTINGS, under IMPORT USING, select MP3 encoder, then OK and OK.
Right mouse click the song(s) in music library will give you a Menu to select CREATE MP3 version.

Perhaps try running an sfc /scannow as per:

Does sfc repair any files? If so, does your iTunes start launching properly again afterwards?

  • Problems installing iTunes on Windows Vista

I have searched these and other forums.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes NUMEROUS times.  I have cleaned the registry, tried Windows Fix-it, tried to repair Apple Application Software.  I have updated the Microsoft.Net Framwork.  I continue to get the same error.  The software says that it has loaded successfully, but when I try to open the software, I get the following message:
"The procedure entry point AVCFURLAssetInheritURIQueryComponentFromReferencingURIKey could not be located in dynamic link library AVFoundationCF.dll"
My only choice then is to click ok.  When I do that, I get a second error message:
"iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes    Error7 (Windows error #127).
Can someone please help me with the correct fix for these errors or some other ideas of how to get iTunes correctly installed on my computer.  I have spent HOURS in the last week researching and re-installing and am at my wits end!

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
The error report suggests a similar problem to those outlined in the fist and third boxes and is probably the result of an outdated .dll file.

  • I'm having problems downloading itunes on windows 8

    I'm having problems as stated,
I've just bought a windows 8 laptop (1/12/13) and am trying to download and install itunes, and seem to be unable to do so.
I am using firefox, which I downloaded through IE, and the download starts, and reaches different points before stopping, and needing to be restarted. I get no error messages, just the file stops downloading. I left for 2 1/2 hours and the download didn't move on at all.
    Somebody please help.

Are you able to download the installer if you use IE instead of Firefox?

  • Having problems downloading iTunes for Windows XP Pro

My computer had a virus and I had to reinstall my operating system, by doing so I lost everything on my iTunes. I still have the music on my iPod, but when I tried to reinstall iTunes I kept receiving a error message about a XP Logo problem. Can someone please help me with this? I really want my iTunes back to add more music/movies to my iPod.

I am having the same problem. Just installed Itunes 9.0 and when I try to log in I get an error message that says problem at the store,,,,try again later. I have uninstalled and re-installed but get the same problem.
Sorry, but no, you do not have the same problem. Your problem is with logging into the ITunes Store, and the OP's question appears to be a problem with downloading the iTunes installer. Please start a new topic with your issue (use the "Post a new topic" link at the top of each main topic page). It's generally better to ask a question as a new topic rather than as a reply in someone else's thread. It's more courteous to the original poster, and is more likely to get your question the attention it deserves.

  • TS3694 I'm having problems updating itunes in Windows Vista.

I cannot even uninstall and start again - it locks up, giving me a error message. It did it for version 10.7 and now for 11.

Are you running Kaspersky security software on that PC? (There's been a few reports in recent times of Kaspersky interfering with iTunes installs, with that message being produced.)
If there is Kaspersky on board, we should try some general-principles getting-past-security-software-interference troubleshooting.
Download and save a fresh copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (32-bit installer file) or iTunes64Setup.exe to your Hard drive. (Don't run the install on line, and don't start the install just yet.)
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Restart the PC. After the PC restarts do not open any applications. Disconnect from your network and/or the internet. Now switch off all your security software (firewall, antivirus, antispyware).
Now start the install by doubleclicking the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) file you downloaded earlier.
Reenable all security software prior to reconnecting to your network and/or the internet.
Any better luck with the security software shut down?

  • I am having problems downloading itunes to Windows 8.

It says iTunes installer completed. Then it says "the installer encountered errors before iTunes could be configured. Errors occured during installation. Your system has not been modified. Please run the installer again, ot click finish to exit". I have tried running the installer again but the same message appears. I have a new HP laptop that has Windows8 installed on it. It hasn't had iTunes installed on the computer previously. Help!! Please:)

iTunes doesn't yet provide support for Windows 8. Some can get it installed others not.

  • Problems with iTunes in Windows vista

    Music Stops in itunes

I am experiencing the exact thing with the iPhone 3G, Win XP and Outlook 2003. Spent 6 hours uninstalling and reinstalling everything and 2 hours at the Apple store. It's amazing that none of the Apple "Geniuses" had heard of this ever. They said "sorry" and asked if I wanted to return it. They blamed Microsoft, though the OutlookSyncClient dll I am getting an error from is actually Apple's. This is ridiculous.
Everything synchs fine except for calendar.
They said I should look for a corrupt calendar entry. I went to the length of backing up my calendar, deleting all of my entries and synching some of them. That worked ONE WAY and only in disconnected mode in Outlook. I cannot synch changes back from the iPhone to Outlook. I added back a few calendar entries from my backup and it errored out again with "outlooksyncclient has experienced an issue and needs to close"
Any ideas are appreciated or I am returning this TOY to Apple. This is not a business phone if it can't synch calendars flawlessly.
