Problems downloading just about anything.

Hi guys,
I'm having trouble downloading pretty much anything from the internet. It doesn't matter which browser I use they all seem to fail halfway through.
My internet works just fine I think. I get emails perfectly and all that other nice stuff, but when it comes to actually downloading files like .dmg etc, they all seem to fail prematurely.
I have a screenshot of what Safari says to me when I try to download a .dmg, perhaps someone knows what is going on? In the screenshot, the Downloads window says "Mounting Failed" under the file I tried to download. (Perhaps someone could tell me if there is a way to post the screenshot?)
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

How are you connecting to the Internet? I've seem people mention that they had trouble downloading files when using a router but were successful if they connected their Mac directly to their broadband modem.
Perhaps someone could tell me if there is a way to post the screenshot?
You'll have to find some other Web site where you can host that file, then put the URL of it in your post.

IPod reset utility incompatible with just about anything

Hi,
Running iTunes 9.
2nd generation shuttle says "you must restore this iPod with reset utility".
Have the latest version of the reset utility, 1.04
- NOT compatible with Vista or Windows 7
- NOT compatible with 64-bit OS
So I suddenly have a useless Shuttle? Because I'm not running a 32-bit version of an OS that was released 8 years ago, and MS only offers extended support for? Come on, Apple.
Any ideas? I've already tried 32-bit XP in a VM with the shuttle USB attached to it.

OK, did the SMU resets- more then once because the first time I plugged everything back in and the iPod reset didn't work; an additional time,with nothing but the iPod plugged in, it seems to have worked. I say seems because it's blinking orange and I'm worried about unmounting/disconnecting it to try to play it- the last time I thought I had fixed it, it was doing this...
Oh, and I'm running 1.0.3 software- thankfully,I had kept the old reset software...
I'm going to wait a bit and see if the blinking stops. Maybe it's just recharging, but I've barely played it, so it seems unlikely it needs much, if any charging.
Not to be looking a gift horse in the mouth, but since the first reset, including after the two subsequent resets, the fan has become noisy- isn't this supposed to stop a noisy fan, not make it noisy?

Why am i getting blinks when opening, typing, scrolling, or clicking; just about anything in firefox

I have downloaded Firefox Aurora and after opening the browser any time I touch a portion of the screen I get a blinking black background. I am running Windows Vista Business 32-bit on a fresh installation of Windows. I have reloaded iTunes 10 and updated my library from a backup I had on my server. I continue to recieve the following error when I try to download a new album that I purchased.

go to the homepage and clivk on your email. then just keep redowloading them until the error stops popping up. sounds dumb but it worked for me.

My ipod update downloads are always interrupted about halfway through. I have no problem downloading anything else. Any solution?

Can't download the ipod touch update. It keeps timing out about halfway through. I don't have this problem downloading any other large files. Is this an issue with the ipod and/or software?

Hi there,
What gen device are you using?
Disconect your Firewall or any security programme that could be blocking this download.
If all else fails then totally uninstall iTunes and Apple mobile device support then reinstall it.

Did you import an iPhoto Library from the old Hard Drive? Do you still have that old Library?
The way to clear out a Library is to Export the photos - Apps like iPhoto2Disk or PhotoShare will help you export to a Folder tree matching your Events.
For the annoying start-up message:
Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
Look there for a Folder called 'Import' or 'Importing'.
Drag it to the Desktop. *Make no other changes*.
Start iPhoto. Does that help?
If it does then look inside that folder on your desktop. Does it contain anything you want? If not you can trash the folder.

Thanks very much for your help, this is exactly the information i was looking for.
The idea of the aperture 4 release came from the october keynote presentation where you can see the new 'mac pro' being used with a different looking aperture interface by a photographer, rumored to be a trial version of a4. i apreciate that it may never materialise but there is hope! i will wait for the release of the mac pro and see if version 4 comes at the same time.
Untill then i will continue to use photosphop elements for detailed work and start to use iphoto for more basic adjustents.
I also noticed on the app store reviews that a lot of people are having problems using aperture 3 since upgrading to Mavericks (which am running). this has put me off buying the program at ths time.

If your phone is locked to a particular carrier, you must contact them to request they unlock it. Once they've taken care of that and you've followed the instructions to complete the unlock process, you will be able to use the phone elsewhere.

The entire DVD containing Quick Time movies (Final CutExpress project) and slideshow was done in iPhoto. The Final Cut project was rendered prior to export to QT, the slideshow was sent to iDVD withoutrendering. The slideshow with most of the pictures from my still camera incombination with stills from movie clips and some downloaded from the Internet.After burning, the movie playback is perfect but the slideshow is not. The slideshow containing 3 differentkinds of pictures; those from my still camera looks OK; the stills from themovie clips and from the Internet are not. I don’t have much knowledge in this game, but I think NTSCwith frame size 720x480, and the downloaded picture Item Property shows most ofthem are between 400 to 500 x 300 to 600, may be both of them are not suitablefor TV screen while the stills from my still camera looks OK because they are2048x1536.
