I'm unable to install the newest version of itunes on my pc, the promt says that there is a problem with the windows installer package, but I have downloaded the exe more than once. Is anyone able to help?
Yes, I had found a similar solution also. I'm running XP Pro, SP3. I went Control Panels/ Add-Remove programmes/apple software update/ change/ repair. Then run the 10.5 exe.
While the programme updated from version 8 of iTunes, my new iTunes is now a mess. Not all of my music was in the same folder previously but it all showed up on iTunes. Now many albums have been left out, some have only a few tracks and some have two copies of some tracks as well as having other tracks missing. I haven't begun to work on that. -
Problems downloading java in firefox
My new forms install 11.1.1.4 will not work in firefox 3.6.16 . It wants to download jre 6.12:
http://java.sun.com/products/archive/j2se/6u12/index.html
However the download is immediately cancelled. If I tell it to resume it, it looks like it was downloaded but it is not there.
This is a problem I've had in recent times downloading anything from oracle and not just java There's something wrong with firefox vs oracle's web site. Sometimes you can use firefox sometimes you can't.
Anyway I got 6u24 installed but the test form does not recognize it because it is not 6.12. So this has got to be an faq how to
change the dependence on 6u12 to 6u24 (or better whatever the current version of java would be). I'm sorry to ask such a dumb
newbie question but if anyone knows how to change it I'd really appreciate it.
this does not work with firefox with 6u24, that's all I know. (the test form does work with chrome and with IE 8. BTW I found that if
you have this problem downloading any java with firefox, it is easier to download it with chrome. I see that chrome is very cognizant of
jre versions and there's a lot of confirming things on sun's website. So you can download and install java via chrome if the other avenues
are not working. (I'm getting a real java headache now. I think I'll work on something else :-)

</HTML>Edited by: lake on Apr 18, 2011 1:10 PMOh a simple fix. You merely have to find the formsweb.cfg file which in 11.1.1.4 is something like:
c:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\forms\config\fmwconfig\servers\WLS_FORMS\applications\formsapp_11.1.1\config\formsweb.cfg
change these 3 items to as follows:
jpi_classid=clsid:CAFEEFAC-0016-0000-0024-ABCDEFFEDCBA
jpi_codebase=/forms/java/jre-6u24-windows-i586.exe#Version=1,6,0,24
jpi_mimetype=application/x-java-applet;jpi-version=1.6.0_24
you could also change the download so they are not downloading the wrong thing:
jpi_download_page=https://cds.sun.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/WFS/CDS-CDS_Developer-Site/en_US/-/USD/ViewProductDetail-Start?ProductRef=jre-6u24-oth-JPR@CDS-CDS_Developer
I probably missed a few.
(But does this mean that every time there is another version of java I'm going to have to change this file? Actually I though mozilla was
going to run the latest version of java if you specified one that was earlier. There's just no telling what that program is going to do. -
Anyone else had problems downloading RH9 trial version?
I have unsuccessfully tried to download the RoboHelp 9 trial version using various browsers (IE, Firefox, Safari) on both my work and personal laptops. Received the following error message when trying to download the trial this morning using Safari. Has anyone else had problems downloading the trial version? I just ran across download information on Adobe's website this morning stating that popups, firewalls, 3rd party security, etc. must be disabled before downloading. Is this the problem or is there an issue at Adobe's end??
I haven't used RoboHelp in many years and need to get the trial installed asap in order to compare against Flare 8.
Thank you.
Ruth MarkhamHi Ruth,
Yes probably, your firewall, might be obstructing.
I was wondering, in case you are still facing the issue then you can try following steps too--
1) Go to this page (copy to your address bar)
https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=robohelp&loc=en_us&promoid=DJDVH
2) Log in using your Adobe ID and Password
3) Copy paste each of the below links in the address bar, one at a time and hit "Enter" from keyboard (Return)
http://trials.adobe.com/AdobeProducts/RBHP/9/win32/RoboHelp_9_WWEFDJ.exe
http://trials.adobe.com/AdobeProducts/RBHP/9/win32/RoboHelp_9_WWEFDJ.7z
4) Once you ahve downloaded both of the links, use the EXE to initialize the installer.
Good Luck!

This is a link to an Adobe Tech note (dated 2007-1-4) concerning disabling Adobe Photo Downloader 3 (apdproxy.exe) with both PSE3 and PSE4 installed on the same machine. Could it be that this also applies to other apps, for example having both LR and Adobe Photo Downloader installed on the same machine?Thanks for the link but my problem is with EXE files (amongst others) so, as stated in the MS article, you can't use that method to change the behaviour.
By comparing to another machine, I have found is a set of keys in the HKCU registry that shouldn't be there -
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.exe]
"Application"="AcroRD32.exe"
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.exe\OpenWi thList]
"a"="AcroRd32.exe"
"MRUList"="a"
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.exe\OpenWi thProgids]
"exefile"=hex(0):
Having now removed them using REGEDIT (& I remembered to back up my registry first!) I have now re-installed Acrobat Reader without experiencing problems (haven't rebooted yet, but I'm pretty sure it's fixed) - e.g. I can still use REGEDIT, launch IE7 or Firefox from icons that didn't work before.
I have no idea how those keys got there, but they're gone now ;-} -
Problem downloading Ipod software during restore
Hello everyone,
My iPod has had a flakey connection to iTunes, so I decided to restore my mini to factory settings.
All seemed to be going well until I hit the "Restore" button, which brings up a pop-up message "There was a problem downloading the iPod software for the iPod. The requested resource was not found".
Does that mean the software wasn't found or my iPod wasn't found? Can anyone help?
Thanks,
Richie
Acer Laptop Windows XPHi again,
No luck I'm afraid. I followed the instructions on the link you provided.
Having run chkdsk, there were no problems.
I navigated down to the iTunes subdirectory, but I don't have anything called "iPod software updates". I did a search on my Documents & Settings with no luck. I've checked that I have enabled viewing of system folders under my folder settings.
All I can see are the following files;
CD Info.cidb
iTunes.pref
iTunesPrefs.xml
and I have an empty directory called iTunes Plug-ins.
In the iTunes sub-directory from 'All Users', all I can see is a file called iPodDevices.xml
I don't know if there's an error in the webpage you ent me, but I do have a directory called 'iPod Updater 2005-06-26' in my Program Files/iPod subdirectory. This contains the following files;
Acknowledgements.rtf
iPod Help.chm
iPod Updater 2005-06-26.exe
iPodUpdaterExt.dll
Readme.doc
StMp3Rec.inf
StMp3Rec.sys
StMp3Recnt.cat
Should I do anything with these?
As a furhter troubleshoot, I've borrowed a friends iPod Nano and connected it to my Itunes okay using my cable, so I know it's an issue with my iPod - any other ideas?
Thanks again for your help,
Richie

Possible fix for "problem downloading the IPOD software.." error
I have a click wheel IPOD and after dropping it was forced to restore to factory setting. When attempting to restore, Itunes nor my computer recognized my IPOD and when it finally did I got the message
"These was a problem downloading the Ipod software for the Ipod "Ipod." The requested resource was not found."
I did the 5 steps repeatedly over 2 days with no luck then today I combined advice from a bunch of postings and it worked!
Here's what worked:
1)Bought a new USB 2.0 connect cable.
2)Deleted the folder containing the firmware files: see
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=304309
3)Delete Ipod updater
4)Restarted computer
5)Download updated Itunes
http://www.apple.com/ipod/start/
When I ran the exe file it asked if I wanted to "repair" or "reinstall" I choose "repair".
5)Reset ipod
6)Opened itunes, connected ipod, it took about 10 minutes for itunes to sync with the ipod.
7)Choose restore.
After that it went as normal.
Cheers

I am having problems downloading Flash Player on a Mac
I am having problems downloading / updating Flash Player on a Mac. Installer runs to 30 and freezes.
Hi, First since you have the 64bit Windows, you need to use the 32bit browser as Adobe does not support Flash Player
for the 64bit.
Are you using any other browser? Here are the instructions for Internet Explorer.
Download the Adobe Uninstaller to your Desktop: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html
Download the Installer and SAVE it to your Desktop:
http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe
Before you start you need to read over the Uninstall info and follow the Security settings, making sure no applications
are running that uses Flash. Anti-Virus/Spyware and Firewalls can interfere and so I would follow these steps after you
know how to disable these. Also you may benefit by reading this also:
http://go.adobe.com/kb/ts_tn_19166_en-us You don't need to follow all of these, just be aware of what my apply to you.
1. After the Uninstaller and Installer are on your Desktop, then disconnect from the Internet.
2. Disable your Anti-Virus/Spyware and Firewall programs. (If you are using just the Windows Firewall, that is ok)
3. Make sure all apps that use Flash are disabled and check the system tray for that also.
4. Close All browsers and RUN the Uninstaller. When finished, Reboot(restart) your computer. When fully Rebooted, Reboot again( to clear out old files) When fully Rebooted,
5. RUN the Installer and when finished, Reboot ONCE.
6. Re enable your Anti-Virus/Spyware and Firewall and connect back to the Internet.
Go to this test site: http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
If you have any questions after reading or before you start, please ask.
Thanks,
eidnolb

Problems downloading Premiere Element 12
I am from Hong Kong and I have purchased and paid for by credit card the above software from official Adobe website, however, when I attempted to download the total Four (4) files, I experienced very very slow download speed. I managed to completely download the following, all only 1.5MB in size:
PremiereElements_12_WWEFDJ_win64.exe
PremiereElements_12_WWEFDJ_win32.7z
PremiereElements_12_WWEFDJ_win32.exe
However, I have problems downloading the final file:
PremiereElements_12_WWEFDJ_win64.7z
This is 1.5GB in size and showed me a download time of about 20 hours!
I'm using Fibre-To-The-Home 500MB Broadband Service at home so there should be no problem at all downloading only 1.5GB, it normally takes less than 5 minutes or so to download similar size files. So I rebooted my computer several times and tried again, now Adobe is saying I'm only allowed 5 attempts to download and I have exceeded that amount!! This is effectively blocking my download!
I would be very gratedful if you could help me rectify this problem and explain to me why the download speed is so slow! It really should not take 20 hours to download a software!

Capture/convert the video to the highest-quality that you can. If all you can do is DV50, that will be okay. Make sure you use a video codec with a 4:2:2 color profile (like DV50). You will get better quality from the color-correction by using higher-quality video, like DV50, which uses twice the color information than DV25 (miniDV) to store color values.
Try the 3-Way CC and raise the gamma (middle slider) until you can't bear it anymore. Then raise the Saturation in similar fashion as the Gamma; they don't necessarily have to be the same levels. Tweak the Blacks and Whites if desired. You will have grain/video noise in the picture (as if the gain was turned up on the camera), and there are third-party filters out there for reducing that noise, but there's not much more you can do.

Can't access FTP server to download tftp.exe file
I am trying to update the firmware on my WRT54GS v5 router. I had no problem downloading the firmware, but can't access the FTP site for the TFTP.EXE file. It won't work in IE or Firefox. I can't get it through my router, or wireless thorugh my neighbor's router.

Once you download the TFTP file on your computer, now connect your computer to the Linksys router and Follow the instruction below.
Double click the TFTP.exe file and click run.
For Server- Enter the IP Address of the router that you assigned. By default, the router is 192.168.1.1...

Has anyone else had problems downloading these TV episodes?
For the last few weeks, I've been having problems downloading some TV episodes. They begin downloading and then stop consistently at the very same spot, no matter how many times I clear out the "downloads" folder, de-frag, etc.
Eureka - Season 2 - Maneater (stops at 414.6MB)
24 - Season 1 - 1-2am (stops at 198.2MB)
24 - Season 2 - 9-10am (stops at 14.9MB)
24 - Season 2 - 3-4pm (stops at 54.4MB)
24 - Season 2 - 5-6pm (stops at 110.0MB)
24 - Season 2 - 6-7pm (stops at 80.0MB)
24 - Season 2 - 9-10pm (stops at 382.5MB)
Dresden Files - Birds of a Feather (stops at 462.3MB)
The Closer - Season 3 - Til Death Do Us Part 2 (stops at 61.7MB)
I'd like to mention that during the period of time that these files have come to reside perpetually inside my download queue, I have been able to download other files (TV Episodes, music, games) perfectly fine.
I have tried all of the canned "solutions" I've been given by iTunes tech support, and have received no assistance to finding a resolution to this problem. Any guidance from anyone at this point would be greatly appreciated!
