Problems downloading purchased itunes

I hope someone can help me, I have been at this for hours. When I am trying to download songs that I have purchased in itunes store, I keep getting an error message saying "network connection timed out". I am using a dial-up connection. Is that the problem, if not, why does this keep happening? Any help is very much appreciated.

Hello Bridonz, Below are the current system and hardware requirements for iTunes. And yes the network connection time outs could very well be from a dialup speed attempting to download the current files.
One way you can possibly reduce this. Pause all but 1 download and download 1 file at a time. So you get the best out of your current internet speed.
Windows Hardware
A PC with a 1GHz Intel or AMD processor
Screen resolution of 1024x768 or greater
Playing videos purchased on the iTunes Store requires an Intel Pentium D or faster processor
Playing HD-quality videos purchased on the iTunes Store requires a 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo or faster processor
512MB of RAM; 1GB is required to play HD-quality videos
A DirectX 9.0-compatible video card with 32MB of video RAM; 64MB recommended
A QuickTime-compatible audio card
A broadband Internet connection to use the iTunes Store
An iTunes-compatible CD or DVD recorder to create audio CDs, MP3 CDs, or back-up CDs or DVDs
Windows Software
Windows XP Service Pack 2 or later, or 32-bit editions of Windows Vista
64-bit editions of Windows Vista or later require the iTunes 8 64-bit installer
QuickTime 7.5.5 or later is required (included in iTunes download)
200MB of available disk space
Screen reader support requires Window-Eyes 7.0 or later; for information about accessibility in iTunes, visit www.apple.com/accessibility

To reopen this page Safari must resend a form. This might result in duplicate purchases, comments, or other actions.

  • Iphone5 does not allow me to download purchased itunes songs on icloud

Hi, I have just purchased an iPhone 5.  I have iTunes installed on my iPad and have a large number of songs that I have purchased.  I am logged into iCloud with my apple ID, and have no problems downloading Apps that I have purchased and stored in the iCloud (i.e., not downloaded to the device).  However, when it comes to music and iTunes, its a completely different matter.  I have a whole host of songs that I can see in iTunes, under "Purchased", and a cloud appears next to the name of each song.  I touch the cloud to start a download, the cloud icon turns to "downloading" and I even see the music download under "downloads".  However, once the download happends, it fully disappears... when I click on the Music icon on my iphone, the directory is completely empty and I get the words "No Content.  You can dowload music from the iTunes Store" and has a link to the store.  I click on the store, and once again, I click on purchased, and I see the list of musics I'd downloaded/purchased on my iPad.... please help me!!  I have a lot of music I've paid for, and purchased a higher memory Iphone to be able to use it/download it, but am unable to....!  Also, I am unable to use iTunes to download new music to my device.  The same thing happens -- it downloads, it actually appears in my iPAD, but not on my phone on which the purchase was transacted.  Thanks so much!

Each device can only set up a limited number of iCloud accounts (I believe it's 3).  After that you can only re-use one of the accounts previously created, or create a new account to use on another iOS device or Mac (running OS X 10.7.2 or later, if you have one.  Chances are the previous owner already created the maximum number of iCloud accounts on the phone you purchased.

  • Problems downloading purchased items - please help!

I keep getting error 37 when I try to download music.  The songs I have purchased are in my "downloads" list, but they will not download.
The error message on my screen says, "There was a problem downloading some of your purchased items."  When I expand this message the list of songs appears, alongside each song it says that the file name may be invalid or too long.
I have been emailing Apple back and forth for days, I get a different advisor replying every time, they obviously don't read the email trail and therefore aren't aware of the troubleshooting steps I've tried so far - basically all of them!  They keep sending me duplicate information and I'm now very fed up and frustrated with Apple.
I tried to phone them, was put on hold for 40 mins before speaking to a less than helpful man for a few moments before the call was cut off.
I have tried: Itunes diagnostics (connections are fine), turning off Windows Firewall, ensuring I have the latest version of Itunes, msconfig.  They said they had removed the pending downloads from my account and added fresh copies, but this did not work either.
They also said that if I go to the new "Purchased" sections of the Itunes store, I would be able to dowload my previously purchased items, however, this didn't work because the songs had "dowloaded" next to them, so downloading wasn't an option.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'd take iTune's word for it and assume the file somehow has become corrupted.  I would suggest two things.
    (1) try to play the song on the computer where it is stored locally (where you uploaded it to the cloud from)  Just want to be certain that your copy will play.
    (2) delete the song from your library and the cloud (just highlight it, hit the delete key)  When asked if you want to put it in the trash, say no.  When you are asked if you want to delete from the cloud, say yes.
    (3) go to the store menu and select Update iTunes Match.
    (4) go to another computer or iOS device and confirm that the song no longer appears (you shouldn't even see the title, not grayed out, just not there).
    (5) go back and add the track back in to your library, hit update iTunes match and watch the progress bar to be certain you see the track title appear - this will help you confirm that the file is actually uploading.  Sometimes iTunes match just re-links to the old file in the cloud and that's sure not what you want!
    (6) see if the track will play now.
"check for available downloads" only has to do with purchases you made.  I don't think it's relevant to the issue you're describing.
Sorry I should have mentioned that the previous suggestion to take the slash out of the title still applies.  I would rename it by doing a get info. on it in iTunes before I turned Match back on and uploaded a fresh copy.

  • Download purchased iTunes on iPhone

iCloud will not download new iTunes album I bought on my iPad. Is on my PC and iPad but will not appear on iPhone.

Go to Settings>iTunes & App Store on your phone, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in (be sure it is the ID you used to purchase the album).  Also turn on Music under Show All.  Then go back to your album list in the Music app, locate the album and tap the dowload symbol.

After finally getting to the end of the download the status window shifts to processing file and then proceeds to start at the beginning and appears to repeat the entire download.

Anyone have any ideas what is happening here?
    Thanks

  • Problem burning purchased  iTunes to external LaCie CD-RW drive

My internal CD drive on my Mac G4: OS 10.3.9 is broken, so I have purchased a LaCie CD-RW 1394 external drive.
If I put in a blank CD, it says " You have inserted a blank CD. Choose what to do from the pop-up menu. Action: (Choices: Open Finder, Open iTunes, Open Other Application or Run Script) Name: (untitled CD), then a box to check for: Make this action the default, followed by Eject, ignore or OK". If I type in a name, the CD ejects, so I just click ignore.
I have tried to place the iTunes onto Toaster, they will copy to toaster, but they will not play from the toaster window before or after burning the disk. Songs from Music CD's will play before and after burning thru toaster.
Can you please help me figure out how to burn purchased iTunes onto a CD using an external LaCie driver?

    GAgirl8772,
Videos you bought at the iTunes Store are protected (the movie companies insisted on that), so you can't extract the sound and burn that to CD.
To post a new question, go to a forum, not a category.
Example: iTunes for Windows is a category (click on the blue text to go there). You can't post there. Instead, first select a forum: e.g. Using iTunes for Windows and you will find a Post New Topic item near the top left.

  • Problems Downloading Purchased Music From iTunes Store

I recently purchased an album from the iTunes store and received a notice saying one song couldn't be downloaded. This song originally showed up in gray and couldn't be clicked on, played, etc and did not show any way to properly download it without purchasing the song again. Based on my calculations, I was still charged the full amount of the album despite not being able to download one of the songs. How do I go about downloading this song without paying the $1.29 again? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

in the itunes store click on Purchased under the Quick Links section
Navigate to the music you want to re download and click on the Cloud icon to the right of it.
It will download a fresh copy at no extra cost

I purchased two movies from itunes and one downloaded without a problem. The other movie will not download. I keep getting download error message and am unable to get it downloaded.

Or, if you open iTunes on your computer, iTunes completes the download to your iTunes library (if your computer is connected to the Internet and signed in to the same iTunes account)."

  • Can't download purchased itune on different computer

I gave my daughter my account info so she could purchase and download a song into her iTunes. This is a song I have not ordered before - first time song. I have a pc, she has a Mac. She had complete access, it downloaded somewhere, but she can't see it or play it. iTunes did not ask her to register her computer either. Would there be a problem with compatibility of the pc info and Mac info. I have a hunch it shouldn't matter. Any suggestions on a remedy so she can play this song without having to purchase it again from her own account?

... it downloaded somewhere, but she can't see it or play it.
Have a look at this article in the Apple Knowledge Base and let us know if you're able to find the purchased song.
