Problems downloading purchases from iTunes

I just purchased some music from iTunes and I am getting a download error on both my iPad and my iPhone. How can I get these purchases to download?

  • My itunes files were deleted. I was able to use an old back up file to restore some but new downloaded purchases from iTunes for the past 5 months weren't in the back up. How do I get those back since I've paid for them one before and use the same account

My itunes files were deleted. I was able to use an old back up file to restore some but new downloaded purchases from iTunes for the past 5 months weren't in the back up. How do I get those back since I've paid for them one before? Can you redownload? If so, how?? Please help as I'm missing over 500 previously paid for and downloaded iTunes song purchases.

This was EXACTLY what I needed about the purchases I made from my device. However, is there a way to re-download other ones you've made from a computer? Because I realized some of them were not just purchased from my device.
This is a picture of what it looks like now:

As you can see, the stuff circled in red doesn't give me an option to download from Cloud Beta because it already says "downloaded".
any way to get around that?

  • ITunes 7.0.1(7):  Problems Downloading Movies from iTunes Store

Prior to installing the iTunes 7.0.1(7) upgrade, I had no problems downloading movies from the iTunes store. After I noticed that there appeared to be rate-limiting on the inital movie that I purchased, I simultaneously downloaded three other movies and watched one of the movies while they were downloading.
No problems with downloading multiple movies but severe problems with using iTunes 7.0.0 as a viewer. An inadvertent movement or click of the mouse resulted in the video portion of the movie disappearing. To solve the problem, I created symlinks in the QuickTime Player's ~/Movies directory to the downloaded movies. Using QuickTime as a viewer was a significant improvement over iTunes.
Upgraded to iTunes 7.0.1(7) when it was released. Today I discovered that the release has significant problems downloading movies.
After the initial download of the movie to /private/tmp, the iTunes download panel displays a message stating that it is processing the file. One would assume that it is inserting the chapter bookmarks and transferring it to the ~Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/Movies directory.
Not so. Its downloading the movie a second time. The processing file message is displayed a second time followed by a pop-up window reprting that the file is corrupt with an error code of 10008. Looks like one of Window's infamous network error codes. Wonder what it's doing on a Mac?
Enough of my diatribe. Are others seeing this? Do you have a "work around" or solution to the problem?
    PowerBook 17, PowerMac G5   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   iTunes 7.0.1(7)

I did run Disk Utility after reporting my problems here and to the iTunes Store. The "Check Permissions" scan found two iTunes with the incorrect permissions. As the permissions were correct prior to the upgrade, I presume the executable permission flags were turned on during the upgrade. Repaired the permission problems.
Also, I performed a reboot as was mentioned in a discussion of a slightly different problem. I was able to download one of the movies. The second failed about half-way through the download with a 9006 error.

  • Problem downloading songs from iTunes to iPhone

I cannot download songs from iTunes into my iPhone. I was able to move about 10 songs but when I view them they are greyed out. I cannot manually move any songs. And if I attempt to drag and drop the iPhone will not accept them as the iPod will. Any suggestions? BTW I can move songs freely from iTunes to my iPod.

    hi jason,
imho, the lack of manual music and video management
is a mistake. i've had 4 ipods over the years and have always used
manual mode. the playlist hack works okay
    and is only mildly cumbersome.
however i tend to buy music from itunes both on my
imac at home and my pc at work. i've always simply
been to plug in my ipod to either computer and grab my
purchases, in either location. now, my iphone is "locked"
to my imac. i'm sure apple had a good reason to leave out
manual management, but i would suggest revisiting this
    asap.

  • Downloaded purchases from iTunes lost????? HELP!!!!

I just recently purchased Leopold for my Macbook (which I purchased this past June). I had numerous problems after I downloaded this upgrade, so I decided that I would re-install Tiger to see if that corrected the issues I was having with e-mail and a number of other things. Much to my suprise it fixed all my problems except I lost two movies I downloaded last night. iTunes says that I have already downloaded so I cannot get them again. Is my only choice to buy these two movies again? i have searched my computer for the files that I saved from my Leopold upgrade but I cannot find these particular files. Any suggestions? I am having to re-install my iTunes library from my ipod. thanks.

Are the movies on your iPod? If so, you should be able to retrieve them. And you may need one of these utilities to assist you...

  • Problem with purchasing from itunes

Has anyone encountered a problem when purchasing a song on credit. I have an account with credit and get a message a valid address is necessary to purchase using store credit. I don't understand I just downloaded on Tuesday and now can't get anything.
Thanking in advance for your hele

Try logging out and then back into your account and check to make sure that all the credit card info including your address is correct, if you still can't get it to work then I would contact Apple and ask them what's going on.

    Tsion.

Does it do this with another set of earbuds? If not, does this happen with songs you ripped from CD or downloaded from elsewhere?
Since it's still under a year old, it's covered under Apple's 1 year warranty against manufacturing defects. Show a Genius at the Genius Bar what you are experiencing and they'll likely swap it out for you at no cost.

  • Unable to purchase from iTunes Mac or upload to iCloud.

I am unable to download purchases from iTunes or upload tracks to iCloud.
When uploading to iCloud, I get the error:
We could not complete your iTunes Store request.
    An unknown error occurred (-3231).
There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later.
When attempting to make a new purchase, including free items, in iTunes, I get the error:
We could not complete your iTunes Store request.
    An unknown error occurred (-45054).
There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later.
Downloading updates or tracks from iCloud works fine. Purchasing from the iOS App Store or iTunes via iPhone or iPad works fine.

This is one of the rare occasions when you should run Repair Permissions (not Repair Disk) in Disk Utility. Ignore the many false warnings that it produces. If there's no change, follow the instructions in this support article.

  • I am trying to download video that i purchased from itunes, but everytime i want to resume the process after pausing it, it automatically start the whole downloading process again, how can i eliminate this problem?

i am trying to download video that i purchased from itunes, but everytime i want to resume the process after pausing it, it automatically start the whole downloading process again, how can i eliminate this problem?

They don't normally appear in the download screen ... until I attempt to download another movie. Then they just start appearing. If you click edit - a normal movie download has a circle that appears on the left hand side that allows you to select and delete ... these movies don't have that option so you need to find the movie in you list (under movies) and select the download cloud symbol again to stop it downloading ...you may need to do this a number of times before it stops for a while ... or until you try to download a movie then it starts all over again.
i have logged out of my itunes account. restarted the iPad, removed all movies, restarted the iPad, logged back into my iTunes account and restarted my iPad .... but as soon as I tried to download a single movies ... the other movies started appearing in the downloads again.

    Hello susanserio
Try Deauthorize your account and then Authorize the account to see if any changes occur. Also there may a resolution in the second article that can be helpful as well.

  • I cannot download music purchased from iTunes store to iPod

All of a sudden when I connect my 2G Nano I get an error message that says, "Some of the items in the iTunes library were not copied to the iPod "your name iPod" Because your iPod software is too old. Go to the Summary in iPod preferences and click Update to get the latest iPod software update."
When I click OK The "Update" button is greyed out and I cannot select it. On the Summary tab under "Version" it says "your iPod is up to date."
What I noticed is that any songs in my playlists that were purchased through the iTunes music store were not transfered to the iPod. The difficult work around is to burn those songs to a CD and re-import them as mp3's. I tried deauthorizing and reauthorizing my computer which did not work. I also rebuilt my iTunes music library which did not work.
I belive when I irst set up this new iPod about 3 weeks ago this was not a problem and purchased songs transferred from iTunes to the iPod but now they don't.
    Any Suggestions?

Also I forgot to mention that when all this was happening, I wanted to Retore my iPod but this option was also greyed out in the summary section and it wouldnt let me do it, therefore I hooked it up to my Windows XP machine and was able to restore the iPod. Now it was formatted for Windows. I hooked it up to my Mac machine and got all the same problems but it downloads everything from itunes to the iPod except purchased music.
So I opened iPod Updater and it said that it cannot update the iPod because it if formated for Windows. It also says if I now want to Restore it, I need to connect using a firewire cable whereas before I was using a USB cable because it said the Nano is not compatible with a firewire cable.
    Arghhhh.

I have 6-7 incomplete songs after purchase from Itunes.  I sent out an email to find out how do I correct this problem? Follow-up 219141808

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Try deleting the problematic file (electing to remove original file if/when prompted) and then re-downloading the file from the iTunes store.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option at the bottom of the screen of the iTunes app (or video app) on your iOS device.
If the problem re-occurs, select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History using your computer.
