Problems e-mailing photos

When I try and email photos from iphoto I get the following message  "The email server didn’t recognize your username/password combination".  I have no problem sending e-mail directly from the e-mail program but I can't attach photos.  This seems to be since my upgrade to icloud last weekend but that may be just a coincidence.

Nope, no issues. Note it will not show up in your Outbox or Sent items right away. It will finally show up in your Sent Items only once it fully sent it. It may show up in your Outbox but only if it fails and comes up with an error messages saying it failed thus moved it to your Outbox.
The Photos app sort of has it's own email code and thus doens't show up in your Outbox or Sent right away. But does show up in Sent once it is done. It is also why if you send one pic then try to send another (before the other has finished) it will have Email Photo disabled. It can only do one at a time.

  • Strange problem e=mailing photos

I have been sending some photos from my iMac to my wife's iPad.
Yesterday I sent 4, 2 arrived and 2 did not. They are shown as "sent" in my Mail system.
I tried again to day. I resent the 2 from yesterday and another one that she wanted.
The new one has arrived but the other 2 still have not appeared.
All the photos are about the same size, between 100 and 200kb.
I have logged in to her Webmail to check if they were there but for some reason the iPad had not downloaded them, but they are not there either!!!
    Any ideas?

After much fiddling about on Webmail and on her iPad, I have finally located the missing e-mailed photos.
They had for some reason been treated as Spam and were therefore not in the Inbox, but in the Spam folder.
That just creates a different puzzle, why were some of the photos treated as spam and the others - all sent from my iMac - appeared in the Inbox??
As a further complication I managed to send the original 2 that did not appear by first sending them to myself on my iPhone and then forwarding them from there to my wife's iPad where they arrived in the Inbox. !!!!

  • Problem e-mailing photos––Mail always chooses smallest size

    Hello Mac community!
Whenever I try to e-mail a photo (whether selected from iphoto or elsewhere) my Mac Mail program always sends it in a smaller size.  Momentarily the larger size will show up in the e-mail, but then in a flash it becomes small.  This is a recent problem.  Anyone have an idea of how to fix this?
    Kind Regards,
    Cyrus

Check the size setting in the bottom right corner of the new mail window.

  • Mail and iPhoto Problems with sending photos.

Mail and iPhoto Problems with sending photos.
I have this problem that started a while ago and seems to be getting worse.
    Here are the different scenarios.
-If I try to share a photo to email within iPhoto, it will insert the image file name in the mail message, but no image icon or opened image. In iPhoto Preferences under General I have chosen to use Email Photos using Mail.
-If I choose to use iPhoto to send the photo, it will compose the message and the photo is viewable. If I send the message i can view the photo within the email I sent to myself. Nothing happens when I double click on the photo in the Mail message. Nothing happens when i control click on the photo in the mail message. Nothing happens when I try to drag the photo to the desktop from the mail message. When I try to save attachments from the email and choose a place to save it, the save button is grayed out and it cannot be saved. When I check the mail message it says there is an attachemnt but there is no file size listed.
-If I use the stationary within Mail app I cannot drag a photo into the placeholder, I get a circle with a line through it symbol when I try. It happens if I try to drag a photo from the desktop or from the media browser within Mail app.
-If I drag the photo to the desktop from iPhoto, I can double click it on the desktop and it will open in Preview.
-If I then control click on the same photo on the desktop and scroll to share/email, the generic photo icon will be inserted in the mail message. If i double click the photo icon in the mail message  I get a message it can't be opened because it is empty.
-If I drag that same image to the mail message body the same thing happens.
-If I send that email to someone they cannot open the image file.
    What I can do:
    - I can drag that same image file on the desktop to my dropbox folder and  it will upload. From there I can go on my iPad and download the photo and send it through email just fine.
-I can open the same image file on my desktop in Preview, I can copy and paste it into a mail message and the image will be viewable in the mail message by me and by the recipient.
-I can drag that same image on the desktop to my safari browser window and it will be viewable in the page. i can then copy and paste that image into a mail message and it is viewable in the message.  I can then send that email message to myself and i can control click on the image and get all my options. It also shows as an attachment with the size of the image file in the mail message.
I can send that message to someone and they can see the photo and open it fine.
-If I send that same email to me I can see the photo within the mail.  If I then drag that photo to the desktop I cannot use it again to put in an email as the same problem happens again.
I have tried all scenarios in my user account, another users account and in a guest account. The same happens in all. I am guessing because of this it is not a corrupt preference file, unless all of the preference files are corrupt. The guest user account I added a new email account so it was brand new and still had the problem.
I am stumped, all and any help is appreciated.

Another problem that may be related….
I have Snapz Pro. I used to be able to save the snaps to my desktop or a folder. Now when I take a screenshot and try to save the file to my desktop or a folder on my desktop I get this message  "Files cannot be created in the selected location. You do not have permission to write to the selected location.   Please choose a different location."  I have found that i can only save the file to the clipboard.   I have repaired permissions many times and still I have this problem.

  • Mailing Photos Problem

I am not able to use Mail to send multiple photos from iPhoto version 4.0.3. In the past I have had no problems sending multiple photos. The error message that I get is as follows: "Mail got an error: Can't get paragraph 8 of content message id 95236640. Invalid index". I do not know what this error message means - I would really appreciate any advice that you can provide.
    Thanks for your help.

This is a known issue with iPhoto 4 and 10.5. The workaround is to use the Photo browser in Mail, where you can drag multiple pics over:

  • Aperture not showing up / displaying in Mail Photo Browser in Leopard 10.5

This is for anyone who upgraded to Leopard 10.5.1 and wanted to use Mail's Photo Browser to insert Aperture pics into mail messages. At first, it only displayed the iPhoto and Photo Booth folders in Mail's Photo Browser on my Powermac but I remember seeing it in the Apple store.
If you already generate previews in Aperture, this is pretty much a non-issue. But for me, it frustrated me for a long time. To make it work, the previews must be set in Aperture. I turned it off because it used up extra HD space.
In Aperture, you need to check the "Share previews with iLife and iWorks" under Preferences. Then decide which size and quality of a preview you want. The larger the size and quality, the better it will turn out when you use it in the photo browser. This dictates the image size and quality of what is imported into your Mail message. (I used the smallest size and a quality of 7, which gave satisfactory results without making the aperture library grow too much). I figured it I wanted to email a large, I could attach it separately via a standard export from Aperture. Don't go too low on the quality as it will not turn out very good.
Remember to go and generate previews for each folder or pictures, as those are the only ones that will show up in the Mail photo browser. The folders will show up but no pictures if you don't generate the previews.
It takes a minute before it refreshes in the Mail Photo Browser. Just play with the different settings and put them into your mail to compare the results.

I had a similar problem and what I found was that I had some corrupt .avi files. Once I removed them all was well. I had to create a new iPhoto library and hunt and peck. I would drag part of the old library into the new library then see if iTunes would see the photos - once it froze then I knew what part of the iPhoto library to look at.

  • My mac pro mail photo browser not opening

my mac pro mail photo browser not opening

I actually have it the other way thinking of my iDevices as windows into my mail and my MP as my main repository. I also set my devices to delete of server any mail I move from my devices inbox to minimize multiple deleting unwanted mail.
But the real issue was to be able to access all my stored mail on my MP when traveling. IMAP is a way to go, yes. But my concern, please educate me if I'm wrong, I have 6 email accounts. With POP I can drag any email from any account to the ame folder on my MP.
As I understand IMAP each account would have its own sets of folders. So where I have "Work" ot "ToDo" folder that hold all mail regardless of account, I couldn't have one folder "Work" and drag all mail to it because folders are created per account, per ISP (and I have multiple accounts from various ISPs).
So I'd have to have a Work folder for each IMAP account and have check each instead of one the way it's set using POP - ON MY MAC on my MP.
If I'm right abou this, then using a remote app like SplashTop 2 to use any device to login to my MP to read, reply, delete, store, then is a great solution since I'm actually working on my MP remotely. Only problem would be if I forgot to turn my MP on before traveling.
Am I on the right path?

  • E-mailing Photos from iPhoto not working since moving to iCloud.

Since switching to iCloud, my iPhoto will not e-mail photos.  Says the e-mail server cannot recognize my username/password combination.  I am lost on this as I am using iCloud for e-mail just fine.

Many Thanks to you stoli412 for dealing with iApps team~
Anyway, I found out something by myself.
I believe that email setup failure seems to be appeared on only those who transferred from MobileMe to iCloud.
Which means that the one who newly joined iCloud.com account doesn't have any problem with setting up the account in iPhoto.
I tested it with my wife's iCloud account, because she just happened to be newly joined in iCloud.com.
Simply, it works fine! but when I switch the sending account with mine then error message again(Shoot!!)
I really hope iApp team could come up with something soon.
    Fingers Crossed, of course!
    cheers.

    Hello WayneSchlapkohl,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that you are looking to Email a scanned photo, but do not want the file to be to large. Are you using HP software when you get the error "not connected to the internet" ? If so, What is the Operating System installed, Windows, including version, e.g. Windows 7 or Mac, including version, e.g. 10.8?
Lowering the DPI or resolution will help keep the file size down, if you have an option for that in the software.
Also, what is the Email client are you using, MSN, Gmail, etc?
    Cheers,

  • Re: what causes an error "not connected to the internet" when I try and e-mail photos

I'm having the same problem with my PhotosmartC3180.  When I try to e-mail photos I get a "not connected to the internet"  message despite having a web page open at the same time.  I run the Print & Scan Doctor and it says everything is running perfectly.  Conversely, I cannot see how to save a photo at e-mail quality and I don't want to cut and paste huge pictures that will slow down the receiver's e-mail. Thanks in advance,  Wayne

  • Can't e-mail photos using iPhoto.  I get an error message saying...

I already receive mail via the iMail client for my iCloud (@me.com) account.  When I tried to set up an e-mail account withing iPhoto, it prompted me for that same information.  I used my @me.com e-mail address and password correctly (I think), but then it says, "the server didn't recognize the username/password."  HELP!!

This solution is for those of you using 2-step verification for your Apple ID and are using iCloud as the mail server that you are trying to mail photos with.
I too had this issue. The problem in my case occurred because I had setup 2-step authentication for my Apple ID. If you have done this then you will get the error message "the mail server did not recognize your email/password...". To solve the problem go to:
    https://appleid.apple.com
    Click "Manage Your Apple ID"
Verify your identity with the device you selected (if this step does not show up then you have not likely set up 2-step authentication and this is not your solution)
Click Password and Security in the left column
    Click Generate an app-specific password
Enter iPhoto as the name of the app
Copy the password and paste this into the password box in iPhoto where you would normally enter your apple ID (in the mail account section in iPhoto preferences).
    And...voila' (I hope)

  • Mailing photo - photos appear small in Mail

Sometimes when I email photos through Aperture, the photos in the mail message show up smaller than the size I am using in the mail export in Aperture.
The "Image Size" in mail is set to "Actual Size".
If I change "Image Size" to any size besides "Actual Size" and then change it back to "Actual Size", the photos show up in the mail message as the correct size.
I am not sure if this is a problem with Mail or a problem with Aperture.
    Anybody have any ideas?

That didn't work. And when I tested one of the photos and then reverted it back to the original, there was a black square where the picture used to be. I actually had to sync it a few times and then turn the phone off and on to have the photo back where it was. I'm assuming this is a problem that Apple is working on since the update. What a pain. But thanks anyway for trying to help.

  • E-mailing photo attachment on iPhone/iPad

    Hi,
I am trying to e-mail photo's as an attachment on my iPhone and iPad and the receipient of the e-mail does not see the photo as an attachment when they receive the e-mail.  When I look in my sent folder the photos are there.  I have tried this from several e-mail addresses (Hotmail/Yahoo) and the same is happening on all e-mail addresses.
Does anyone know why this is happening?
    Thanks

i want to fix your problem!
we can fix the issue somehow, but FYI you can use Gmail and yahoo apps from Appstore! these work fine u can send photos easily using the official gmail and yahoo apps, also hotmail..
delete the gmail or any account from iPhone ! method is: go to settings > Mail, conracts, callenders > gmail address
go inside and delete the account
and now go to setting> general> reset> reset all settings
dont worry it wont delete any data, it only reset settings, once phone is restarted
it will fix the issue hopefully, let me know
