Problems encountered while installing designer 6i - RAU
Hi all,
While installing designer 6i on Windows XP with Oracle 9i DB, i am having a problem.
When the RAU views are created, one of the sql file has a view with a column as "CONSTRAINTS" and since its a reserved word, RAU exits showing application error.
Pls help me solve this.
I have the exact same problem. The repository install is trying to create a view that has a column named "CONSTRAINTS"...when the install reaches that point, it errors out saying that it cannot find the expected constraint definition. I have no idea how to fix this. I was thinking I would edit the script to change the column name, but anticipate this would cause further problems.

Dear Sir
It is kindly requested to help us with these issue-
we are not able to install the operating system(Microsoft server -2008 SP-2 (x 32 bit)
Following error is coming during installation :-
Windows server could not install due to one or more critical drivers missing. To install Windows make sure that the drivers are valid and restart the installation.
Earlier ,We have observed that our working server has developed a problem of 2 no.s of hard drive failure out of existing 3 no.s. It was in RAID-5 mode. so the server was not booting.
Recently we have changed the faulty hard drives with two new ones and after that configured the RAID and we tried to install the O S but it was showing the above stated error.
Please help us in solving this issue.
Thanks and Regards

IOCL ChennaiA. Your RAID is configured incorrectly. Erase disks, make diagnostics and create new RAID. Make sure that you have at least 3 disks available for RAID 5 (This is the prerequisite.) Also make sure that you have latest firmware and BIOS installed.
B. It this does not help, ask Dell support/forum for help. This problem is NOT on the Windows installation side.
C. Do not publish your mobile number in this forum. Expect written response here.

Dropbox isn't the same as iCloud, one won't replace the other.
Have you tried restarting and trying again. -

The "installation guide" says that if you are doing so, you need to create a file named libx11.so.4 and update your LD_LIBRARY_PATH (see http://docs.iplanet.com/docs/manuals/messaging/ims52/ig/unix/overview.htm)but:
1- the library name is libX11.so.4 and
2- for jre a common file is not enough, you need to install SUNWxwplt at least. This will install the library on /usr/openwin/lib.
You can check the results running <server-root>/bin/base/jre/bin/jre
Hope that helps and sorry about my poor english. -
I am building a RAC cluster on IBM pSeries hardware running AIX 6.1. The ASM LUNs for storing the vote disk and OCR (as well as all future db files) are on NetApp storage. I have built RAC clusters before, using IBM storage, but this is my first time with NetApp storage.
I ran cluvfy for stage precrsinst, and that report came back without errors. But I don't believe that cluvfy actually attempts to access the ASM storage, since the utility does not know the ASM disk discovery path. Anyway...
During the OUI installation pre-checks, I received this error message: PRVF-5150 Path /dev/usasdirvg801_asm_quo_01 is not a valid path on all nodes.
Inital searches on MOS led me to note 1267569.1, but that applies only to Linux.
Has anyone else encountered this error message while installing Grid Infrastructure on AIX? Any and all advice will be considered and is appreciated.
Thank you!
MarkHi,
Try use kfod utility:
Note: Keep in mind that the Grid Infrastructure software does not need to be installed to use kfod, since kfod is located as well on the staging area where you uncompressed the Grid Infrastructure software, as the following example:
/stage/grid/stage/ext/bin/kfod
Where: "/stage" is the directory where I uncompressed the source software for the Grid Infrastructure software.
And put here :
$ kfod asm_diskstring='/dev/usasdirvg801_asm*' disks=all -

Errors encountered while installing EBS 11.5.10.35 on Windows XP Pro
I have been trying to install 11i on my desktop running Windows XP Pro SP2 follwoing another thread by naveed27c. I can pass all the pre-installation check but the same error messages always come up when I reach step 2 of 5. The short version of the error message is like this:
ERROR:

ORA-01031: insufficient privileges

SP2-0640: Not connected
There are more in the log but it is too long and I hate to copy all of them here.
I don't know what causes the problem. Within the preparation process there are a few steps where I am not sure that I have done correctly. I guess one or all of them could cause troubles.
1. In his thread, naveed27c mentioned the need to "opt for Register Environment Variables while installing VC++", but I don't see such an option while installing the package.
2. When setting path to include c:\cygwin\bin, I can add it and see it using echo %path%. But once I close the command window and reopen it, echo %path% does not return c:\cygwin\bin anymore. Also, I can't find c:\v98\bin, but c:\v98\vc\bin. Shall I add c:\v98\vc\bin to be included in PATH?
3. My hosts file is like this:
127.0.0.1 localhost ben.oraclef.com
192.168.1.11 ben.oraclef.com
I added "oraclef.com" as the Primary DNS Suffix at both places (Computer Name and Network Connections. I can ping both "ben.oracle.com" and "ben".
Are the above settings correct?
4. When installing 11i, I entered the following in Express Configuration Information screen:
MKS directory=c:\cygwin\bin
MSDEV directory="c:\v98" (Here, shall I put "c:\v98\vc\bin"?)
Domain=oraclef.com
I am the only user and administrator. Do I need to create extra users?
I do apologize for this lengthy message. But I am so desperate to install this software. I would GREATLY appreciate your help.Hi hsawwan,
I have added c:\cygwin\bin to the path following your instruction and can see it in a command window.
Tried to install 11i again just now but failed again. It is a clean system, I reitaled the OS. Got Microsoft Visual C++ 6 from Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0. While installing I chose to install VC++ only to c:\v98. Also installed Service Pack 6. After that I can see c:\v98\bin in the path.
Downloaded CYGWIN and installed the selected components to c:\cygwin. HOWEVER, I can not find the specified "diffutils".
In the 11i Express Configuration I filled the following:
MKS directory=c:\cygwin\bin
MSDEV directory=c:\v98
Domain=oraclef.com
I added "oraclef.com" as the DNS suffix. My hosts file looks like this:
127.0.0.1 localhost ben.oraclef.com
192.168.1.11 ben.oraclef.com
I can ping both ben and ben.oraclef.com
Here are the error messages I got:

HI All,
I am facing issue while installing SAP BO design studio in my machine. I already installed java updated version(Java7u67).But still its asking me to install java. kindly help on this.Hi Nitin,
Per the PAM, the JRE must be 32 bit mode - see page 10 here:
https://websmp102.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700000211262014E
Could you install it 32 bit mode and see if that works?

ChrisHi Jean
Pls find the details and the procedure we have tried with.
Pls let me know in case any other information is required.
The Versions we are using are as follows
DB : Oracle 9.2.0.3.0 on sun solaris
OWB Client : 9.0.4.10.0 (after applying patch:Patch 9.0.4.10.0)
OWB Repository : 9.0.4.0.27
Database is located on on sun solaris and we are trying install the target user from Windows Professional 2000.
The target schema user is created and assigned to default tablespace.
We are doing as per the instructions in the Runtime Assitance Wizard.
1. Initaited the Runtime assitant Wizard from my Windows machine.
2. Provided the required database information and sys user id and password.
3. Checked the option target Schema (As Runtime Repository, Access User and 3 to 4 target schemas are already available). We are trying to install anothor target schema.
4.Selected create a new warehousebuilder Target Schema
5. Provided the Runtime repository owner userid and password which was created long back.
6. Then selected install into an existing user schema and provided the userid and password of the new user which our dba has created using create user option(provided with minimal previleges like connect, resource etc).

Problems encountered while Configuring IBM webshere5.0
Hi All,
I'm the process of Configuring the IBM websphere 5.0. I'm getting the following annoying error for quite sometime. Can anybody please help?
I have installed a standalone Webapplication and mapped the right. JDBC resources. My team uses SQL server 7.0 and Im's using Websphere embedded connect JDBC driver for SQL server as the driver. Every time I have changed the configuration , I have stopped the application and restarted it. Following is the error that I get when I start the application.
"Resource reference " DATA SOURCE NAME" could not be located, so default values of the following are used: [Resource-ref settings]
res-auth: 1 (APPLICATION)
res-isolation-level: 0 (TRANSACTION_NONE)
res-sharing-scope: true (SHAREABLE)
res-resolution-control: 999 (undefined) "
What does this mean? Is there a problem in the configuration?
My next question is , Is there a way to associate an applciation with a JDBC resource?
thanksThis is documentation from IBM's website. I got only a cached copy from google, but could not find the real copy.
Also this other link might help you.
http://www.mainframeforum.com/t624817.html
Answer for your second question.
Datasources are setup at server level. In WebSphere it is shared between applications at the node, cell or server level.
But you do configure your applications to use the datasource. So the answer is that there is a way to associate an application with a JDBC resource.
You have to define your JDBC resource references in the application descriptor and match these to the datasources you have defined in WebSphere.
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/wasinfo/index.jsp?deployment=Enterprise
The resources, data access section should be of some help.
Vijay
Information for your config error.
If a J2EE 1.3 EJB project contains Container Managed Persistence (CMP) beans, then that project must be configured to use only WebSphere Application Server Version 5 data sources, even if some or all of the CMPs are only EJB 1.1 beans.
In a J2EE 1.2 application (EAR), all JDBC applications, or Servlets 2.2, or EJB (must be 1.x) beans must use WebSphere Application Server Version 4 data sources.
In a J2EE 1.3 application, all EJB 1.1 Modules (which can only contain EJB 1.x beans) must use WebSphere Application Server Version 4 data sources.
In a J2EE 1.3 application, all JDBC applications, or Servlet 2.3, or EJB 2.0 Modules (which may have CMP version 2.0 and/or 1.x) must use WebSphere Application Server Version 5 data sources.
If you incorrectly configure an WebSphere Application Server Version 4 data source, then at runtime there is no "Resource Reference" for this data source (required by the J2EE 1.3 container) and you will get the runtime error:
68c343ee ConnectionFac W J2CA0122I: Resource reference jdbc/YourBank could not
be located, so default values of the following are used: [Resource-ref
settings] res-auth:1 (APPLICATION), res-isolation-level:0 (TRANSACTION_NONE),

<arg line="-compiler javac ${dist}/std_${destfile} ${dist}/${destfile}"/>
<classpath>
<pathelement path="${cp}"/>
</classpath>
</java>
</target>
