Problems exporting a movie in Flash CS4

I'm trying to export a fla file to a mov file in Flash CS4.
My fla file is 152 mb. It is a 5 minute presentation I created with a 39 second f4v file (video clip) in the file.
I go to Export / Export Movie. I select Quicktime (mov). I keep the default settings and it starts to cycle through. It gets about half way and I get a message "The export operation failed because it ran out of memory"
I'm running this on a Mac Pro, System 10.5.8. I have 4 GB of memory. My HD is 232 GB with 155 GB available.
What is the problem and how can I get this to work?

Well, for some reason, I've managed to be okay with the idea that all software relying on links is prone to crushing at any given moment during execution of a project, Yes this includes After effects, Illustrator, Indesign_name it. However, one thing I cannot understand or even come to terms with the idea that Flash CS4 cannot export a project of 162mb. My library is organised, My scenes are in perfect order,  I do not even use 3rd party componets in my projects..... but for some reason, I cannot export let alone publish an application file from FLASH CS4.
My first thought was maybe some thing was wrong with the "flash.ocx" extension, so I took a walk and visited the Adobe site to get an update, but still after re-installing it nothing seems to put a smile on my face_( I've spent sleepless nights on this animation and all I need is to just export/ publish it, however flash exports it halfway and out of a blue the export dialog and the incomplete file vanish) Some times I  even wonder wether there is a vortex on my desktop.
Another problem in this category am finding is with flash player in my browsers, if it runs in exlporer, then it won't run in firefox, and when I check in the control panel after installing on both browsers, I am so suprised to find 4plugins of flash player, which is not the case with my friends laptops which use 1plugin and an activeX control for the web browsers.
Any help is very welcome, Am using Dell studio-xps Laptop running a 64bit  Windows Vista OS, 4bg Ram, 1 Terabyte HDD and yes Intel Graphics media card with dedicated memory of 1gb. (Of what use are they if I cannot export a small file of 162mb, am even ashamed to mention it, heeeeeelp  )

  • Not able to export quicktime movie from Flash CS5 or CS6.

Hi! I am not able to export quicktime movie from Flash CS5 or CS6. When I export it the progress bar is showing and says Recording Flash content and nothing happens

I havent exported any videos in the past from Flash. The movie is around 45 seconds and the size is 470KB.
I tried both, the memory and the hard drive.
In the attached image you can see the settings and in the other image you can see the progress bar that remains without something to happen.
I dont mind what type of video to export it can be also .avi but again I have troubles there. It is very large and the animation is distorted.
The animation consist from two scenes. The first one can be exported without any problem but the second one cannot be exported. May be because it has some masks layers and guide layers?

  • If my camcorder records in 1080i, will i have any problems exporting my movie in imovie as 1080p? I read something about interlacing or deinterlacing?

If my camcorder records in 1080i, will i have any problems exporting my movie in imovie as 1080p? I read something about interlacing or deinterlacing?
I also have another question. I can't find an external blu-ray burner for a mac anywhere. How to I simply watch my exported 1080p movie edited in imovie on my hd tv? Apple tv only supports 720p correct? I read that the simplest way to watch it would be to save it on a flash drive then use a playstation 3 to watch the movie. Does anyone else have any other ideas? Thanks in advance

For 1080p via iMovie '11, just remember to optimize video for “Full – Original Size”.
The latest Apple TV supports HD.
I've seen low cost Blu-Ray DVD players for less than USD$100.00. I've also seen reasonably priced external BR for Mac...try OWC, as one example.

  • Problem with motion tweening in Flash CS4

    Hi !
I tried to refresh my little flash knowledge -- but I stumbled upon a problem with the new Flash CS4!
When I try to make different blur or alpha effect on one keyframe I got after making the motion tween -- Flash adjust the other keyframe as well (got the same reaction on both keyframes as if it was the same instance of movie clip -- and not as in old flash; the keyframes created separated or independent instances)
The only thing working for me is when I move the movie clip out of the stage on the first keyframe -- and it correctly move its position.
    What's wrong?
    Kind Regards
    Maria Olsen

    Hello Maria,
You sort of answered your own question:)
"got the same reaction on both keyframes as if it was the same instance of movie clip"
That is exactly right and is the proper way of looking at new motion tweens. It is one instance of the movieclip for the duration of the tween. It takes awhile to get used to this.
New motion tweens allow you to set up a a very simple tween initially without keyframing ending values / position. Once you start making changes after the tween is set, you are going to have to get familiar with adding "property keyframes". Property keyframes are displayed with those little diamond icons in the timeline. Poperty keyframes allow you to "lock in" certain specific properties at key points in your animation without affecting other properties. With the old classic keyframes, a keyframe placed mid-tween would create a whole new instance of a symbol with all properties (rotation, scale, alpha etc) set in stone for that point in time. The benefit was that you could easily have all properties tween TO and FROM that keyframe if that's what you wanted. Now you can make adjustments to a symbol mid-tween and only specifically adjust a single property. So you can adjust the alpha of an object mid-tween without interrupting say a rotation that you wanted to happen all the way through.
If you simply want an object to move left to right and then you decide it should fade in
    CLASSIC TWEEN
    -place symbol on frame 1
    -keyframe frame 10
-in frame 10 move the symbol to the right
    -add classice tween
Ok, that works, now add alpha fade in
-go back to frame 1 and set alpha to 0
-classice tween automatically adjusts alpha from 0 in frame 1 to 100 in frame 10.
    -done
    MOTION TWEEN
    -place symbol on stage
    -create motion tween
    -playhead jumps to last frame
-move symbol to the right (no need to f6 / keyframe)
Flash automatically adds something called a "position" keyframe (notice the little black diamond)
Ok, that works, now add alpha fade in
-go to frame 1 and set alpha to 0
    -test movie
-oops - wrong. As you noted the alpha will stay at 0 throughout the whole tween.
-you need to additionally go to the last frame and set the alpha back to 100
-this will automtically create a "color" property keyframe on the last frame
When just doing this now I noticed something odd as well
As soon as I do the position change and move the symbol to the right, if I try to add the "color keyframe" on the last frame of the tween, I am not allowed to do so. "color" and "filter" are greyed out. I would prefer to lock the alpha at 100 in the last frame while the playhead is in position before setting it down to 0 in frame 1. Oh well.
    Seems you are forced to
-go back to the beginning of the tween
    -adjust the alpha
-then go to the end and manually bring the alpha back up.
hmm maybe i'm missing something too:)
the best way to do this would be to have the foresight ahead of time to do the alpha
    -place the symbol
    -alpha 0
    -add motion tween
-in last frame move the symbol  set alpha to 100 (alpha and position keyframes are automatically set)
So if you do it right the first time, its easy. If not, well.
Keep in mind an object will maintain the properties it has set in frame 1 unless a subsequent property keyframe enforces some adjustment.
If you have have an object that is moving from point a to b to c to d:
If you alter the alpha at point b, the alpha will tween from point a to b, but will maintain the new alpha to c, to d.
If you scale the clip by 200% at point, its scale will tween from point a all the way to point d, NOT just from c to d
To scale from point c to d only, set a "scale" property keyframe at point c (this will lock the objects scale at 100) THEN scale to 200% at point d
It takes a good deal of practice. I found the hard way that you just can't "wing" it. It isn't very intuitive coming from a classic tween approach.

Take note of the tips on "cntr-clicking" frames and "shift-dragging". You have to really get used to a few keyboard modifiers when editing the timeline.

  • Exporting my movie lets flash pro cs5.5 crash

    Hi,
i have a problem when i try to export my movie. It just crashes. I don't know what to do anymore. I cannot work anymore!!
where can i get help with this?
    sincerely hoping for help,
    Uli Genenger
    Liluc Design

Does it crash with every project or only this one? Do you have intense graphics and is the *.fla file huge in filesize?
Flash sometimes with complex single-fla projects corrupts the fla in some way and then it keeps crashing.
You might try to copy the whole timeline (copy frames) and paste it to fresh, new fla. If you instantiate some items from library by actionscript and assigned classes (which are not positioned on the stage), you should copy these items from old library to the new one.

  • Need advice on exporting to .MOV from Flash

I'm creating an introductory video for readers of my webcomic. Because I  know Flash, I'm creating it there. Basically it's a voiceover with some  static comic images getting panned and zoomed around, with some sound  effects and such.
They key thing is that I want this to be easily shared. The best way for  that (I think - open to other opinions) is to get the final file  uploaded to YouTube and saved as a YouTube video, which I then embed on  my site. YT vids are extremely easy to share and email around. This  gives me the best option for getting the most eyeballs on it.
The problem I have had in the past is that exporting a Flash file to  .mov makes a MASSIVE file, size-wise. This video will be like 3 minutes  long, I'm a little worried that the file size might be too big to upload  to YT. Also, in general the exported .mov looks like garbage compared  to the SWF.
I know you can modify the Quicktime compression settings and such when  exporting, but I am not sure what the optimal settings are.
What are your thoughts? Looking for any good advice...

    Hi Pixelmech,
one option I use a lot is to export not to Quicktime but to PNG sequence. Then import that into After Effects (assuming you have AE) and add a filter (optional) and then export to MOV format. YouTube allows uploads of files up to 2GB (I am pretty sure). In fact YT has a spec sheet on what compression to use too:

    Hope this helps.

  • Problems exporting a movie

hi, i hope you will be able to help me, (and forgive my poor english).
i use adobe cc, and it works great except when it comes to exporting a movie.
many times when i export a movie using the media encoder to MPEG2 - DVD, and the sequence is longer then one hour it doesn't export the video, and i get a black screen. when i do the export threw premiere pro it works properly. but it prevents me from using the computer and exporting multiply sequences.
today i had another problem, and this time the premiere pro didn't help, i tried to export a movie from a p2 camera (resolution of 1440X1080) to H264. i couldn't do it in both programs, and it only worked when i used my old adobe cs5.5 premiere pro. are you familier with this problem? if so' is there any soloution for this?
    thank you!

  • Missing Render Files / Problem Exporting Quicktime Movie

Everything was going great on my 21 minute project.
I had exported it to iDVD via a Quicktime movie and it looked great in widescreen format. It worked perfectly.
Now, for whatever reason, when I load my project, I get a message saying the Render Files are missing. I am unable to locate them anywhere. I had them stored along with my project on an external firewire 400 drive.
So I press "continue" without finding the missing files.
Now when I export my movie, it appears 4:3 with gray vertical bars on the side!
When I view the project on the canvas, it looks perfect as 16:9. Everything looks normal in FCE.
Did a render file get corrupted or something? Is there a way to delete all the "old" render files and tell Final Cut Express to re-render my entire new project? Would that solve my problem?
    Any help is greatly appreciated!

I did what you said and the "exported" file says:
Kind: Final Cut Express Movie File
    Under More Info it says:
    720x480 Integer (Little Indian) Timecode
    Total Bit Rate: 30,313
Why am I trying to export?
Before I ran into trouble, I would export my FCE project using the Export Quicktime Movie command.
I then used iDVD (set to 16:9) to burn to DVD.
    It worked perfectly before.
But now, all of a sudden, the same project always shows up at 4:3, whether played in Quicktime or when burned to DVD using iDVD set to 16:9.
The version of FCE is 4.0 and the version of Quicktime is 7.4.5
Thank you again for trying to help me!

  • Cannot Export to .mov - Premiere Pro CS4

    Hello,
I've been having this problem for a while and I cannot find a soultion for it.  When I try to export a sequence as Quicktime (.mov), the Adobe Media Encoder opens but what I was trying to export does not appear in the render queue.  It's completely empty.  I also have After Effects CS4 and I can export to Quicktime fine there.
Any ideas what might be causing the export to not appear in the render queue?
    Thanks.

  • Problems exporting longer movies to dv camera

I have no trouble exporting short clips or movies to my dv camera, so I assume that means everything is compatible and I am doing it right. However, I am currently working on a movie that is about 58 minutes long and has lots of transitions, effects, title clips and a sound track. The first 20 minutes or so will transfer just fine to the camera. After that dropouts and freezes begin to appear and the soundtrack gets off by about 10 seconds from the video. Eventually iMovie quits before finishing the export.
How do I sove this problem? Thanks.

  • Problem exporting Quicktime Mov with Premiere / Media Encoder

I have a MOV-file which has been exported from Final Cut. I imported and edited it in Premiere CS 5.5 and then tried to export again to Quicktime Mov. Problem is that the output looks terrible.
