Problems Exporting HTML from Fireworks (new to Fireworks)

Forgive me if this is a rudimentary question, but I've searched the help files as well as online and I'm not finding anything on it.  I have a bunch of PNG image maps I need to update (someone else created the PNGs in Fireworks several years ago).  I open them, make the updates and choose export HTML and Images, and then it allows me to choose some options for the HTML, but not for the images.  For one thing, it keeps putting the image file somewhere other than where I want it (and as a result I have to move the image file and update the HTML manually), and it doesn't let me choose what kind of image I want to export.  I want JPEGs, but it keeps cranking out GIFs.  What am I missing here?
Thanks!

Ok, I finally noticed the Put Images in Subfolder check box, which allows me to choose where I want the image to end up (not exactly intuitive, though, as I don't want the image in a subfolder, per se, I want it in the same folder as the HTML!).  And I still don't see where I can choose what type of image to export.  (What's with this "Export" crap anyway?  Why not Save for Web and Devices like every other Adobe product I use?  I know, I know, it's related to Fireworks' Macromedia origins...still, let's get on the same page, here!)

  • Oddity with exporting html from textflow

    Hi,
    I am using the following code to export html from my editable textFlow:
                public function getXmlFromFlow(flow:TextFlow, title:String):XML{
                    var temp:XML = XML(TextConverter.export(flow, TextConverter.TEXT_FIELD_HTML_FORMAT, ConversionType.STRING_TYPE).toString());
                    var holder:XML = new XML("<" + title + " />");
                    for each(var p:XML in temp..BODY.P){
                        holder.appendChild(p);
                    return holder;
    This function takes a textflow and title and returns an xml tag named according to my title and with the html as its child.
    This functions, however, I am getting font tags within font tags, like this:
    <titleHtml>
    <P ALIGN="left">
    <FONT FACE="Arial" SIZE="12" COLOR="#000000" LETTERSPACING="0" KERNING="1">
    <FONT SIZE="64">JOE SCHMO</FONT>
    </FONT>
    </P>
    </titleHtml>
    And when I bring this html back into the textflow with this code :
    textFlow = TextConverter.importToFlow(MYXML, TextConverter.TEXT_FIELD_HTML_FORMAT);
    I get the proper text, but the size (should be 64) does not render, it shows up at the 12 size of the parent.
    Am I doing something wrong?

    I'm a bit puzzled.  I tried importing this markup into TLF as HTML in 1.0/1.1 and 2.0 and the text always showed up at 64 pt.
    <titleHtml>
    <P ALIGN="left">
    <FONT FACE="Arial" SIZE="12" COLOR="#000000" LETTERSPACING="0" KERNING="1">
    <FONT SIZE="64">JOE SCHMO</FONT>
    </FONT>
    </P>
    </titleHtml>

  • When I select HTML from Create New, it appears in Doc tab as untitled-1.XHTML

    Every time I select HTML from Create New in the Welcome screen, it appears in the Document tab as untitled-1.XHTML, with a green icon.  In the past it's always come up as document-1.html, with no icon, as in my textbook.  I don't know why it's doing this, whether it's important (I would guess that it is), or how to change it.  I'm new to Dreamweaver.  Any help would be much appreciated...

    Which version and build # of DW do you have?  You'll find it under Help > About Dreamweaver.
    Also, which preferences have you specified for new documents?
    Go to Edit > Preferences > New Document.
    The default extension should be either  .htm or .html, .shtml or .php -- depending on the type of files you work with most.

    I've resolved my problem now.  It wasn't iphoto: preferences:@ that I needed but iphoto:preferences:general where there is the option to choose email for sending photos.  Can't believe I missed that before.

  • Export html from adobe muse to use in dreamweaver

    Is it possible to export html from adobe muse to use in dreamweaver?
    Example... I finished my website in Adobe Muse but want to trasnfer it all over to Dreamweaver when I'm finished.

    There is a Muse support forum here: http://muse.adobe.com
    The HTML generated by Muse is pretty messy so you should be pretty fluent in HTML/CSS to hack it up in DW.

  • A client is curious to see if I export HTML from Adobe Muse, will he be able to edit the HTML in another program?

  • Problem exporting mail from N8-00 to PC

    Hi
    I want to copy the email to outlook 2007 on my PC.
    How do you export email from the Mail app on the N8-00.  I installed the PC Suite on a Vista PC and it synch'ed contacts but there is no option to sync email.   When you go into the setup area of PC Suite there is no Email tab.  I saw the user gudie which has a crseenshot showing one but I don't know why it is not visible to me.
    It does talk to Outlook as contacts came over successfully.

    The issue has been that the phone was synched to a yahoo email account and that account was deleted.  As the phone is still showing emails I hoped to download from the phones emails on the phone to retain the names and email address etc of people who had emailed.
    There is an app which looks as if it will do what you want, http://store.ovi.com/search?q=best+messagestorer# but it isn't listed when the store is set to a Belle N8, so it might not be compatible with Belle yet. There is a 15 day trial version at http://www.smartphoneware.com/messagestorer-for-s60-3rd-edition-product.php which while described as for s60 3rd, does include s^3 in the platform list. There may well be other apps available, either in the store or at 3rd party sites, that do a similar job so spending some time searching may be of use.
    If there aren't too many addresses that you want to save, and you can't find an app to do it, you can always save the addresses manually. When viewing the mail on the phone select the "+" icon, then when you select the address you get the option to save to contacts. Once done you'll be able to sync with Nokia Suite.
    I can't see a way of forwarding mail from a different account to the one it was recieved on (an I guess you would need this to forward as you say the account has been deleted) but if there is any text that you really need to save you can do this by forwarding/replying and then selecting text and copy/paste to a new document.

  • Problems viewing html from interactive swf export

    I have created a student manual in InDesign CS5 that I need to email to our students.  I exported it as an swf and also created an html.  I tried to email the html but it won't open from the email.  It will, however open on my computer.  The swf file is too large to email.  Any thoughts on how to make this functionality work?

    My initial reaction is why would you do that with SWF?
    PDF would have been a far better choice but if you want them to look at the
    SWF put it on line, send a link and hope they're not using mobile devices.
    Not at all likely that anywhere near half will be able to see it.

  • Exporting html from smartform (hrfrom)

    Hi all,
    I've created a print program to convert the output spool into a pdf, but is there a way to have an html file generated from the spool?
    I came across WWW_LIST_TO_HTML, but that seems to only handle list-type sppol output.  Is there a standard way to have the smartform output as a html file?

  • Problems exporting images from iPhoto

    Hi all,
    I have iphoto (ver. 6.0.6) on a MacBook running OSX 10.4.11. I have a WD external hard drive connected to an airport base station and due to a lack of space on my MacBook HDD, recently moved my iphoto library to the external hard drive. Since then I've had a few problems with the database becoming corrupted (probably my fault) and have rebuilt it a few times now. I've read a few posts explaining that image files should only be edited in iphoto and so I'm sticking to that now.
    The new problem that I have is in exporting images to a folder, say on the desktop for example. I want to upload some images to a website to have them printed off. Previously, when my photos were on my MacBook HDD, I created a folder on the desktop, highlighted the images I wanted and dragged them to the folder, then uploaded them to the website from the desktop folder- job done. Now, however, when I try to either drag them to the destop folder or export them, some of the files are 'converted' to Unix Executable files while the others are in their original jpeg format. I've tried exporting them and selecting the jpeg option instead of the original default option but no luck. Can anyone suggest where the problem might lie or what I'm doing wrong?
    Thanks.

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
    Two problems with your set up.
    1. You getting a corrupted Library because iPhoto does not sit well with a wireless connection to the Library. If iPhoto is interrupted while writing to the database, then it becomes corrupted. Dropouts are a fact of life in Wireless networking. As long as you have this wireless connection you will have a significant risk of a damaged Library file.
    2. My guess is that the External Disk is formatted for Windows (a FAT format). This exe issue arises when jpegs are stored on a FAT formatted disk. You need to reformat the disk for Mac OS X Extended.

  • RE: Problem exporting photos from iPhoto '09

    Can anyone provide a solution to the following exporting problem?
    I'm trying to export an album of 60 photos, yet whenever I try, this is what happens:
    exports the 1st six photos
    a message pops up, "Unable to create  /Users/Lynnie/M80th - 06.jpg" after it exports the 1st six
    Photo #7 is in color whereas the 1st six are B&W. I don't know if that has anything to do with it, but it just struck me as odd.
    Also, I renamed and ordered the photos so there're aren't any with the same names.
    I'm a very, very basic computer user, which doesn't help when trying to follow previous threads on this issue.
    Any information would be helpful to hear.
    Thanks in advance!

    The problem is that your library is corrupted in some way:
    Option 1
    Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
    Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
    Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

  • Problems exporting Video from Photshop CS4 extended

    Hi Guys
    I have a multilayered psd file (RGB 8 bit, 955 px x 600 px) and have created an animation (8 seconds) using the animation panel in timeline mode. File consists of 4 image layers and 3 text layers. When I choose File/export/render video, The quicktime options are grayed out and all I can do is render jpgs from the sequence.
    Any ideas? I know that I have done this about a year ago without problems.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Photoshop CS4 extended
    XP Pro SP3
    Dell Laptop
    NVIDIA Quadro FX770M
    4 gigs Ram
    207 gig scratch
    phil

    Thanks Mathias...I think.
    Anyway, I figured out my problem and wanted to share in case anyone else runs into this.
    I was working on a new laptop (purchased expressly for CS4). After pulling what little hair out that I have left this morning, I decided to try it on my desktop machine. Lo and Behold, Quicktime options were available.
    Idiot that I am, I assumed (yeah I know) that Quicktime would have been pre-installed on the laptop. Welllllll no, I didn't have Quicktime installed at all.
    Installed Quicktime and all is well.
    Thanks for your help. If you need me, I'll be sitting in the corner wearing a dunce cap.

  • Problem exporting pics from Lightroom 2.7 to PS 5.1

    I need some help!
    When I installed PS 5.1 on my new computer, I began working on
    pictures from a recent shoot.  I start with camera RAW in Lightroom then export to PS 5.1
    . I have not had a problem before, but must have
    gotten my settings wrong or something.  Exporting works great,
    no problems.  But when I go into
    PS 5.1 to tweak them, they look entirely different.  Example:  The vignette I added in LR looks 'streaked/not smooth' in PS. Also the skin doesn't look smooth.
    What have I done wrong?  Why is it looking weird in PS?  Thank you for your help!  I've got to finish these pics and can't figure it out.

    I don't use PS much, but I remember that if the percentage zoom isn't some nice value like 50% or 33.33%, etc., the image looks "rough". So that may be your problem. How does the photo look if you look at it 1:1?
    What are the values set in your Preferences/External Editing for PS CS5?
