  • Export to WMV file type

I am having serious problems exporting my finished video into a Windows Meida file type. Ordinarily I would not want to publish into this format but when my clients need it in that format I have no choice.
For some reason it exports only part of the whole video. around the first 30 seconds then stops. I have tried exporting as a Quicktime movie then using Quicktime to convert that movie and slao exporting straight from FCP.
What do I need to do to get the full video exported properly?

Ok, when I choose export in Quicktime or Final Cut Pro I have a list of default quicktime conversions and one of them is Windows Media File.
I am coming to the conclusion that the Flip4Mac FREE download will allow a short export from QT pro or FCP. I see what you are saying that I should pay for the Flip4Mac full software so then I can do the full sequence.

  • "Problem: Unable to play file type for...". Moderator please help

When using the spotlfy app from squeeze box I get this message every time: "Problem: Unable to play file type for" then list the song name. I can pick the music and see the art but no play. This is when I am attempting to stream from spotlfy on squeeze box. Logitech customer service told me spotlfy has not been running on squeezebox for weeks. Please help or I'll have to cancel subscription.

The 3rd party plug-in solved this problem for me, but only after I'd figured out a few other things, so I'm sharing them here: a) You have to have BOTH plug-ins running, both the v 1.0 "official Spotify plug-in "  *and*  the third party plug-in, which is on v2.3.8 as I write this. b) after you have activated the third party plug-in (and re-started the Squuezebox server)  You have to open up the settings for the plug-in ( link in the far right colum)  I don't think it matters how you choose to set these (I didn't mess with them.) The critical thing is that you must log into your Spotify account from within the this plug-in settings screen in order for the 3rd party plug-in to do its job.  (And maybe you'll have to re-start the Squeezebox server yet again.  I just do that without even thinking when trying to sort out these problems.) What makes this all challenging is that the symptoms change at each step:  At first, with just the official plug-in activated, I got the "can't read file format" error message.  After activating the 3rd party plug in (but before logging in from inside it)  Spotify appeared to be working perfectly on the screen of my Squeezbox controller, indicating that a song was playing (even the bright white light  that shows something is streaming was lit.) However. no sound was actually coming through.  After I logged in as above, I finally got music to match all the on-screen indications. No logic to this that I can figure out.  It just seems typical of life with Squeezebox.

  • How to Export a WMV file in High Quality but low MB?

How to Export a WMV file in High Quality but low MB?

I'm really afraid you are the only person who can answer that.
ANY compression is totally relative: what do you think is small? What do you define as high quality?
I can get a 5 minute wmv file at just under 100mb that I find acceptable for browser downloads. You might think that's too big. I don't.
Trial and error is the only way. Personally, I've set up a compressor preset to crunch my wmv files. While it's doing it's thing, I can do something else.

  • AE CC not exporting to any file type on Mac OSX 10.10.2

I have been trying to export my AE sequences to pretty much any file type possible. Initially thought it was the Quicktime/H.264 error that people had noted in other threads, even tried it with AME. I've tried exporting several different projects too, some that had third party plug-ins and even test projects with just in-software assets in them. I was having no problem up until just a few days ago when I upgraded. My best guess is that it's OSX 10.10.2 related bug?

    MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012)
Processer 2.9 GHz Intel Core i7

Oh yes. My bad. It is in face the one-second mark. And it is in every
    project I have tried.
The assets in the first project that I noticed this happening on (which was
also the first project I opened after upgrading to OSX 10.10.2) include:
    - Solid background with a color gradient
    - Alpha Track Matte
    - Optical Flare
    - Particular
    - Null object
But this exact same problem occurs with every project I've tried to export,
regardless of what's in the project/comp

  • Large file after Exporting to wmv file

I just exported an mp4 file to windows media (wmv) and the file is 4x larger than the original. Is that normal after a conversion?
    Nano

I have a similarly related problem. I am converting some video files to .m4v and i notice that even though the total size of the new files will be (for example) 1gig, the size of the folder i save the files to will be around 7gigs. i accidently saved a group of files to the desktop and it seems to have curtailed my harddrive size. i was wondering if you knew of a way to find all the extra fat and free the space back up on my harddrive.

  • Exporting existing .wmv files using CS4

Another department at my work made a series of training .wmv files using Camtasia. Each video is 1024x 768. They want me to put them in Premiere and
output them all as one long video. Since they are .wmv that means they are alrady compressed what export settings should I choose to insure that I
    don't recompress them?
Also I set the output size to be 1024 x 768 (the same size as the originals) but the rendered video comes out looking cropped.
Actually it seems more like the visible part of the video is slightly enlarged thereby making the egdes go off screen. Can anyone give me some advice
    on this project?
    Thanks,
    Al

Unfortunately, unless you can get another Export from Camtasia, you have no choice. The WMV's will have to be uncompressed, either internally, or via a conversion program, to be edited. You will then re-compress them, for Export. That is the biggest problem when working with compressed material.
Actually, Windows Movie Maker might be your best bet, as it is designed to work with the WMV CODEC's. PrPro is not.
    Good luck,

  • Problem Exporting for Web files created in FCE using Quicktime

I have been using FCE 4.01 on Mac OSX 10.7.5 with Quicktime 10.1 (501.29).
I convert my footage in Mpeg Streamclip (GREAT free program) and set the files to the Apple Intermediate Codec.  This makes them work really well in my timeline and I don't have rendering issues or problems.
So, my problem comes when I File/Export/Quictime Movie.
The original file plays fine, but they're 2-3 gbs each, so I put them into Quicktime to convert them to a webfriendly size, but every single time they come out as an audio only file.  GRRRR!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Maybe I'm missing something stupid.
Thanks so much for your help.
    Sincerely,
    Steve

Why not bring the exported AIC file  back into MPEG Streamclip instead of QTX? You'll have a lot more control.
Compress the file to H.264 and restrict the data rate according to the resolution you're working with and to something consistent with the guidelines of the Web Service (say, You Tube) you're uploading to, (For example, something like 6 Mb per second would be about right for a 720P file.)
Or use Quicktime Conversion from FCE.
    Good luck.

  • Premiere Pro CS5 crashing when exporting (only certain file types)

    Hi
I have found that when I try and export media in Premiere Pro CS5, it often crashes during the export. It says
It's only certain file types. For instance, Vimeo HD seems okay but Vimeo SD always crashes mid-export. MPEG is okay too, but MPEG2-DVD always crashes.
Sometimes it says this: "Error Compiling Movie - Unknown Error" but doesn't throw me out of Premiere altogether.
Other times it crashes altogether and Windows gives me this error message: "Display driver NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 258.96 stopped responding and has successfully recovered". Premiere Pro then stops responding so I have to re-open it and start exporting again.
I have checked there are no gaps in my timeline and I have rendered the whole work area. Besides, I doubt it's anything that I'm doing wrong with the project itself because it's exporting fine in some formats.
I am also experiencing random crashes when editing too. Not that often, but occasionally it throws me out - and twice it has made the whole screen go crazy, with weird dotting across the screen (it's scary, it looks like the monitor itself has broken!).
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Nick
PS I have a pretty decent new PC - Dell Studio XPS, 8GB, 2x1TB drives, etc. Premiere itself is working great, except for these crashes.

Some drivers do not work well in some systems... so go to nVidia and try a different (usually newer) driver for your card
These notes are for Encore, but they MAY also work in Premiere

Do you have the latest Flip4Mac update installed with the QT 7.2 fix?
Trieed to open in Qicktime and save as Mov.
The "Save As..." QT Pro File menu option only places the current audio and video compressed data in an MOV file container. It does not re-compress the data to a fully support QT compression format. Try converting the file to DV, MJPEG, H.264, etc. instead.
Stil could not have Imovie accept it when i draged or tried to import

  • Low quality exports as .wmv files

    Hello,
I'm using Premiere Pro CS4/Windows XP.
I've seen a couple other posts relating to this subject, but was wondering if someone could advise me on the best way to export to achieve a 320x240 wmv file. I'm scaling down from an avi file, edited with chroma key so I could replace the background.
I tried some of the NTSC Source export settings, but was unable to open the exported wmvs on my computer. The only setting that seems to work is the Zune Video setting, which specifically exports to the size I need. However, the quality is not very good.
Will I ever be able to achieve a wmv file that matches the quality of H264/mp4? We're using a webcast service which requires us to upload either wmv or flv videos, so are rather limited.
If anyone can recommend the best settings, I would be extremely grateful.
    Thank you,
    Christine

    hiya,
might as well post this here....
Bill...just did wmv export for youtube ( sample as per other thread )
to bring into focus for this post...I am putting my project settings too...basically I matched the project settings except for the audio going down to 44khz from 48...  I coulda kept that at 48khz...
IF THIS was interlaced I would check the box that says " allow interleaving "...
IF THIS was interlaced that I want to export progressive I would check "deinterlace" and NOT have allow interleaving" checked....also I would make the progressive dimensions roughly HALF of the interleaved size...cause you lose half the vertical resolution going from interleaved to progressive.
In my sample for youtube I really crank up the bitrate... seems to work well....as it gets converted by youtube...
added some youtube screens also, reference how to upload the video to that place...for Bill ----
NOTE: The settings put you into a custom mode...where you are choosing all your settings..not a preset ...

  • Problem with opening .wmv files in QuickTime since Snow Leopard upgrade

Until upgrading to Snow Leopard any .wmv files would open automatically in QT when double clicked.
I now get an error message which says "QuickTime Player must be installed to run this application".
I can open the file by launching QT(pro) and opening it from within the player - kind of a long way round.
Any suggestions what the fix might be would be gratefully received
    Thanks

    Hi,

  • Problem exporting to WMV in Final Cut Express

I am recreating a Keynote file of mine for someone who needs to use Power Point (poor fellow). Because most video will not play in Power Point, I converted those needed into WMV using Final Cut Express. However, when they play back in the Power Point, the colors are all changed to red and green and such, nothing like the originals. Fortunately, the files will play normally saved as AVI files, but I am told that WMV play best in Power Point.

As I was replying to a Telestream Technical Support person and trying to get a screen shot to send her, the Windows computer indicated that there was a Windows Media update. I installed the update, and now the .mov files that were converted to .wmv files in Final Cut Express run fine in both Windows Media Player and Power Point 2007 on the Windows XP computer.

  • Problems exporting video to AVI TYPE 1 format

    Hello
I use the Final Cut Version ProHd for editing my videos but I'm having problems when exporting the final project.
The file is exported in the .mov format but I need it exported as AVI type 1 since it is going to be played in a PC.
If I export it as a regular AVI, it comes out without sound.
Anybody knows of a plugin that could solve my problem or another way to solve this situation?
