Problems generating WebHelp output using RoboHelp X5

Hello,
I have been using RoboHelp X5, build 606 since last 2 weeks. I am facing problems with the generation of WebHelp output, when I generate and publish the project, it does not give me the Index and TOC. I have taken over the project from another author and when I compare the new Published Help folder with the previous author's work, I see some missing files. Could anyone from the group please help me resolve this issue?
Thanks!

Two possibilities from that information.
1] Is the D drive a partition on your hard disk or a network drive? RoboHelp projects must be run from your hard disk.
2] The more likely is that RH is not properly installed. When the previous author left, was RH uninstalled and reinstalled using your login? For X5 it must be installed using your login? Also you need local admin rights both to install and use it.
My guess is this is all to do with X5 not having been installed with your login and with you having local admin rights.
This will lead to another problem. X5 can no longer be activated. The solution to that is on my site. See Snippet 100.

  • Not able to view the webhelp output in Robohelp 9

    Hello,
I am in a project where we have to create webhelp output from Robohelp 9. Whenever I generate the webhelp ouput I am not able to view the the contents. Although, the webhelp is opening in a browser window but there are no topics present in the contents. The other ouputs like .chm and .dox are fine, but there is some problem with the webhelp which I am unable to figure out.

    What browser are you using?
If Chrome, try something else. Chrome works fine with help on the server but not locally. There is more in Snippets on my site about the Chrome issue.

If I were to guess, I'd guess that your filename is invalid. How about removing all special characters (spaces, brackets, etc.) from the device name. Also, make sure your form was compiled for HTML.
I haven't actually used the HTML driver, but these are general things you should do if you have trouble with any Central driver.

  • RoboHelp 9 - Problems generating WebHelp

    Hello!
I'm using RoboHelp 9. When I try to generate Primary Layout (WebHelp), my books and topics don't display. The Contents, Index, Search, and Glossary do (even though nothing happens when you click them), but the rest of the screen is blank. I have included a screenshot.
Does anyone know what could be wrong? It worked a few weeks ago when I last generated it, and I don't think I've made any changes... so I am at a total loss.

  • Can not generate PDF Output in RoboHelp 11

Can not generate PDF Output. I keep getting the same error message:
"Microsoft® Word has not been started on this computer.
Launch Word and click the 'Start using Microsoft® Word' option before generating Printed Documentation again."
I have MS Office 2013 32-bit and RoboHelp on a 64-bit Wondows desktop.
What do am I doing wrong?

Is the 32 bit version of Word the only version of Word you have on the machine?
Where does Word's normal.dot reside? On your local machine? Sometimes it gets put on a network drive and that can cause problems.

  • Generate txt output using a program unit in web report (OAS 10g)

    Hi Everyone.
I have a c/s report (6i) which generates a txt file in a program unit using TEXT_IO package. I need to move this report to web (Reports 10g) and publishing it in OAS 10g. I've done that (without the text file generation), I can see the report on the browser in PDF Format and works fine... but, I still have a problem... when I use Text_io package, the c/s version of the report in 10g runs an generates the output.txt file but when I move it to web I got an error in the before report trigger (in which I invoke the program unit sp_generate_txt)
I looked around for a solution and I just find the usage of webutil package, but as you know, webutil package is only usable in Forms.
Any Ideas on how can I solve this problem?

    Hello,
TEXT_IO can be used in Reports deployed on the web.
The difference with Client /Server is the fact that the file create by TEXT_IO will be created on the "Middle Tier Server" and not on the Client.

  • Generating WebHelp output in .html format (vs in .htm format)

We're using RoboHelp X5. The Developers want us to generate
the Help output with .html file extension (vs. .htm file
extension). Could you please let me know how do we go about
    this?

I would strongly resist that because you are making a rod for
your own back for no useful purpose whatever.
You have to manually change each topic file name within
Project Manager and make sure you specify the extension for the
start page when you generate. I think that will ensure all files
are HTML but check it out. Also check out that everything works as
whilst that will give the right file extension, I haven't tested
    search, index, glossary etc.
Also bear in mind there is no way to make RH create new files
with that extension. You have to remember to do it manually
    yourself.
Unless the developers can come up with a very persuasive why,
which does not include "because we are the developers", a
suggestion that they do a foxtrot with Oscar might be appropriate.

  • Generate XML output using DBMS_XMLGEN.getxmltype and not from rdf

    Hi,
I have a requirement to display output from a particular table in XL format. Out of all the known possible options, I am planning to use the XML publisher to generate XL output.
For the data source, instead of using the conventional way of creating XML data using rdf,I am planning to use DBMS_XMLGEN.getxmltype pl/sql procedure to generate the XML output. And from the output, call the template to generate the required Excel output.
Now, I am using the following code to generate XML output but am not sure how to proceed from here. I need to first print the XML data in the FND Output file after which I was planning to call the 'XML Report Publisher' (XDOREPPB) program and use the current request id to get the excel output but I am not able to find the way to print the XML data in the output file as:
fnd_file.put_line (fnd_file.output, l_xml_type); - is throwing an error as l_xml_type is an XML data output.
    PROCEDURE xml_main (
    errbuf OUT VARCHAR2
    ,retcode OUT VARCHAR2
    ,p_project_from IN VARCHAR2
    ,p_project_to IN VARCHAR2
    AS
    l_xml_type XMLTYPE;
    BEGIN
    SELECT DBMS_XMLGEN.getxmltype
    ('SELECT fnd_global.conc_request_id
    ,TO_CHAR (segment1)
    ,to_char(start_date,''MM/DD/RRRR'')
    ,to_char(xxmcc_project_details_pkg.current_profit_projection
    (project_id),''999,999,990.90'')
    ,to_char(xxmcc_project_details_pkg.cost_to_date (project_id),''999,999,990.90'')
    ,''1''
    FROM pa_projects_all
    WHERE segment1 BETWEEN NVL (p_project_from, segment1)
    AND NVL (p_project_to, segment1)')
    INTO l_xml_type
    FROM DUAL;
         fnd_file.put_line (fnd_file.output, l_xml_type);
    END xml_main;
Can anyone point me as to how to publish XML output using a PL/SQL procedure (DBMS_XMLGEN.getxmltype)
    Thanks.

Pl see if the example included in this presentation helps http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/applications/Events/OOW-2006/EBS/S281401_Sridhar_Bogelli.pdf
Also, you do not need to explicitly call XDOREPPB in later versions of XML Publisher. If you set up everything correctly (as described in the presentation above and the link below) the Output Post Processor is called automatically after the XML file is generated successfully.

  • Issues while generating the output(using VF02- header- output)

    Hi Group,
I have issues while generating output using the tcode VF02.
the issue is that, I have got an output type which is configured for the medium "Special Function" and the o/p program generates PDF depending on certain criteria.
now, when I try to "repeat output" option to generate output again, I was getting errors. it works sometimes by choosing the option "Successfully processed" then selecting the record and then saving it. if I do the same thing again, the output make be running into error or success, it is varying everytime.
I am not able to understand why the process is not working correctly, when doing the "Repeat output" option on the "Successfully processed" record, the system is giving error instead of a Successful message. it is succeeding once and sometimes not.
Kindly let me know your inputs if you have encountered same kind of issue.
    Regards,
    Vishnu.

    hi Group,
when I checked the configuration part of the o/p type I am currently processing, I could see that, in customizing part of this o/p type, there was a checkbox for Multiple Issuing - which is not checked.
when it is not checked, it should not be possible to run the o/ps for multiple times, but when I tried to generate o/ps again and again, in a few attempts I could to generate the PDFs and in some cases not. I don't know why there is no relevance for this check box Multiple Issuing.
Could you please let me know why this issuing of o/p is working in some occassions and not working work sometimes, which is  having the configuration of checkbox Multiple Issuing - not being checked.
thanks for your help in advance.
    Regards,
    Vishnu.

  • Problems with Flash output using Safari

    Hi All,
does anyone know the solution to getting the flash output to work with safari?  The project plays properly on Firefox and Chrome.  On safari, my custom menus come up just the same as on the DVD version of the project, but the flash videos do not play - just a grey screen.  Interestingly, the duration of the clips is set correctly in the player, it just doesn't start the video. The flash files play correctly when loaded directly into Adobe flash player, so I am assuming there is a compatibility issue with the generated XML files or index.html.  The code inside the index.html seems very old and refereences macromedia.com and a windows .CAB file.  I have shortened the file names and eliminated any offending characters (all are in the form "Chapter_1").
Anyway, this is stopping me delivering a project on USB stick for a client - seems to be a common issue when searching the web, but no solutions.  Any assistance or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
I have the full CC (2014), but still have Encore CS6 installed for DVD production.
    Regards,
    Mark

I read the thread you mentioned and all others relating to this issue - seems to be a number of people having the same issue over the last 3 years, but none have posted a successful conclusion.  I did see the post about strange characters in file names causing issues in the XML - I did also look at this and change all my content file names to innocuous "Chapter_X" & etc.  The paths to the "Sources" directory are all relative and the project works correctly on Chrome and Firefox.  Just safari is not working.  Agree, it could be permissions, but I have checked all security settings and the Abobe Flash player (with is called up by the script to display the videos in the browser) is specifically permitted to "Allow Always" in the security settings.  I can't help thinking there is a problem with the generated XML that safari is not behaving correctly - it wouldnt be the first time that Apple doest things using their interpretation of a standard.
However, after all that, the generated code from Encore doesn't result in a working local project that I can send to a client and expect to work.

  • Problem displaying WebHelp built from RoboHelp HTML Editiion

I have a project I want to transition out of RoboHelp for
Word but when I build the files in RoboHTML in my extremely locked
down environment (I work on a secure network) I get errors when I
try to display the WebHelp that does not occur with my RoboHelp for
    Word build.
The errors appear to relate to pathing problems for the
Contents, Index, and Find. All three selections give me Line 728,
Char 3, Error Object Expected, Code 0, URL ends in whtdhtml.htm. As
I click on other items in the Contents I get the same error. I get
the same error when I try to open a book. After a book opens the
TOC freezes after getting Error:84 Unspecified Error. I cannot
close any books after getting the Error: 84. Clicking on a page
    displays the page fine.
Nothing displays in the Index. Typing in the Index text box
gives me Line 1096, Char 3, Error faFakes[…].nB’ is
null or not an object, Code 0, URL ends in whibody.htm. If I come
back to to the Index after clicking elsewhere, nothing still
displays but I do not get the error, however, I still cannot find
    anything.
When I type something in Search, it appears to return results
normally, but when I try to access a result I get Line 619, Char 2,
Object Expected, Code 0, URL of the file I am trying to access.
Has anyone ever seen anything like this? It has to be in my
locked down XP setup that affects the build from RoboHTML, possibly
screwing up the XML files or if something is actually written into
the JS files, messing with them. Someone suggested our environment
may have put something in an unfamiliar place and the build gets
munged. It has to be the build process since WebHelp works fine
when created from RoboHelp for Word.

Check with IT. If you are using RH6 or lower, then they must
be installed with and run with your login and that must have admin
rights attached. If you are using RH7, an administrator can install
it and you don't need admin rights to use it.
See Installing RH on my site.
That seems the most likely cause given that this occurs with
    the sample projects.

  • Generated WebHelp output folder contains \!ScreenLayout!\ folder

I'm running TCS4 and just played around with creating WebHelp with RH10. In both my project and the sample Salesbuilder project, I find that there's a \!ScreenLayout!\ folder with only a mobile.css file in each sub-folder. I could understand this if I was generating Multiscreen HTML5 output, but I'm not - WebHelp was set to be the default layout in both cases. So 2 questions - first, why is it getting put in there, and second, can I safely get rid of it? My help only gets packaged with our software and installed on clients' LAN servers, never a Webserver. You can't run the software off a mobile phone, so trying to access it that way won't ever come into play.

Found the solution for the problem. For some reason
    response.setHeader("Cache-Control","no-store, no-cache, must-revalidate,post-check=0, pre-check=0"); //HTTP 1.1
                                  response.setHeader("Pragma","no-cache"); //HTTP 1.0

These header settings were causing this issue. If I take out these settings then it works
