Problems getting whole library on ipod

hello.
I am having problems with my ipod. My library has 3056 items in it and when I update my ipod only 3005 songs are on it. It wont update everything in my library to my ipod. it also wont ut my videos on my ipod. Why is this happening? What can I do to fix it?
please help me.

I also have a similar problem only on a smaller scale. I have an iPod color 40GB. I will get a few songs randomly in my library that will not sync to my iPod. Currently I have 5413 songs in library and 5410 in my iPod. This difference will grow slowly. I have all mp3 files, no protected files. Widows explorer sees all 5413 mp3 files. No 0byte files. I can see no reason for why these 3 mystery files will not sync. I have had this before and never solved or seen a solution! My only solution in the past was to delete my library on my pc and copy the iPod files back to pc and start again. I'd love to know what songs iTunes or the ipod doesn't like!?

  • I downloaded the new itunes and updated my ipod 3, anyone else having problems getting music library to sinc to ipod?

I am having trouble sincing my music library to my ipod touch 3g after the update, is anyone else having this problem?

Read this Apple Support Article on handling error 69  it may be a bad corrupted file.
Or worst case the iPod Hardisk need to be check, as you are saying that it is taking longer than usual.
Do the iPod Disk Diagnostic as posted earlier by tt2, it wont fix your problem but helps in troubleshooting.

  • Problems getting music on to iPod.

I hook it up, and then I read it and watch it update, and find the music in the library of the iPod, but it won't show up to play or even see.
Any one have any info, or the same problem?

Ever since I downloaded iTunes 7, I can't get tunes on to my Nano. VERY frustrating!! I just downloaded the new 7.0.1(7) hoping they fixed the problem, but no good. Even though I deleted over one hundred songs, it just keeps saying that I do not have room, even for one song. Then, AFTER THAT, when I tried to add a new long playlist, it said the same thing, then it transfered just a few tunes on the playlist. This is very weird. How can I go back to iTunes six? Why should we keep upgrading anyway, if things are working fine???@&!T%??

  • Help! Having a problem getting music off of ipod onto new itunes

My old laptop had a itunes downloaded on it, but I recently got a new laptop and i just downloaded itunes onto the new laptop.  The problem I am facing is that I can not figure out how to get the music i already have on my ipod onto the itunes i just downloaded. HELP

You are having problems because iTunes is not designed to work that way.  Syncing is one way, computer to device. Copy the whole iTunes folder from your old laptop or your backup (you do have one, don't you?) to the same location on the new one.  If you no longer have the old laptop you will have to use third party software to copy just media files, then rebuild all yoru playlists, ratings, playcounts, etc. by hand.
Any items you purchased from Apple can be downloaded to iTunes from the iTunes store again, if that feature is available in your ocuntry.

  • Problems getting laptop started after ipod load

I downloaded iTunes from the Apple website and my machine would barely restart. I restarted my computer in Safe Mode and was able to delete the iTunes directory. Problem resolved. I then made a horrible mistake of starting my laptop with the iPod cd in the drive. Now I have the same behavior...machine barely starts up, will finally get to the desktop after an hour or so, but I cannot do anything, taks manager shows little to no processes, but I am not able to do anything on computer. Started in Safe Mode again but nothing iTunes or iPod to delete. Can anyone help?

I just got off the phone with Apple. Their response is that something was wrong with my computer to start with or I wouldn't be having this problem. My machine is W2k SP4 with all the critical updates prior to loading iTunes. This matches the requirements identified by Apple. But my computer is the one with the problem.
So I guess all the rest of you who are having problems really just had an unstable computer like me, before you attempted to load ITunes.
Completely unbelievable that there is no ownership of the problem at Apple.

  • Difficulty getting full library to ipod

I have just bought a new laptop and copied my itunes library to this, I have now tried to update it and only 5gb of the 26 in my library has updated, any clues??
    Advent 7088   Windows XP

Mine did that too. It seemed to be one track that was causing the problem - iPod would update fine till it hit this particular song, freeze and then eventually stop altogether. I unchecked that song, also reset the iPod and it's fine now.

  • Problems with syncing library to Ipod

I got some songs from a friend.  I transfered them from my external hard drive to my Itunes library.  When i sync my Ipod it says that all those songs can't be transferred because they "can not be found".  what does that mean and how do i fix it?

Wow! That is crazy. I've been using a Windows formatted iPod on my Mac for many years without a problem. But just recently, I have the same problem as the original poster. Sometimes I connect my iPod to my Mac and it does not mount. Rather, the iPod acts as if I plugged it into a wall powered USB cable. It charges, but does not mount. No sign of the iPod on the Mac. If I unplug it and try again (and maybe a 3rd time), the iPod finally mounts.
Is this a sign that my iPod is dying? I hope not, because it is a 160 gig version and I love having that much space.

  • Problems with Music library in iPod

"This message has been translated by Google Translate"
Dear friends of the Apple forum, let me state a fact that is happening too often since I installed the iPhone OS 3.1. When I access the iPod appears "Updating Music Library", and most of the time it goes losing all my music synchronized with iTunes.
    Can You help me?
    Thanks

Reinstalling will normally not affect the tracks and settings already in your iTunes. That said, it's wise to make a backup of any tracks that you've purchased from the iTunes Music Store or that would otherwise be difficult to replace and of your playlists before you upgrade, just in case something would happen to go wrong.
As to your specific problem, take a look at this web page and see if it helps:
iPod missing in "My Computer" or in iTunes on Windows
    Good luck.

  • Problem getting photo library off iPad

I wiped my hard drive. I backed up my iPhoto library to a friend's computer. But when I put it back on mine it came over wonky. I used iphoto library manager and extracted the photos but only got some of the pictures. How can I take the photo library from my iPad and put it on my Macbook Pro? All the photos were synced prior to the hard drive wipe.
*Not talking about the camera roll photos.

There are iPad apps such as Simple Transfer that should be able to copy them off the iPad to your computer via your wifi network - but as photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to the iPad, any photos that you copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on your computer

  • I have problems getting apps on my ipod touch, even the free ones and when i try to get it, it says this ID never purchased something before please review...

so i thought that i had to insert a payment methode even if i just wanted the free apps but then i heard from my friends that they didn't had to do that and they still get their apps...? please help this is really gettig me nerveous ...

You need a payment method on your Apple ID to use the store. Even if you're not planning to download any paid apps, you still need a method linked to your account.
I''m not sure when it changed, but I believe you used to be able to download free apps without a payment method. Maybe your friends Apple IDs are from those days.

  • Help? Old computer crashed. Need to move library on Ipod to new laptop???

    Hi
I haven't found the details on how to do this, because most of the info requires using your old computer...which I can't do.
I have itunes installed on new laptop, and have checked "manually manage music"
so I don't lose my entire music library on my Ipod when it syncs. But now what?
How can I get my library off Ipod onto new computer?
New songs purchased on new computer - how do I get to Ipod without losing old songs?
    Thanks!!!!

iTunes will only let you copy your iTunes Store purchases directly from an iPod to the computer, you'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
For everything else (music from CDs, other downloads and including iTunes purchased songs and in some cases, videos and games) there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:

    Comparison of iPod managers
A selection of iPod to iTunes utilities:
TuneJack Windows Only (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
SharePod Windows Only (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)

iRepo Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iPod Access Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
TouchCopy Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide
I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay: Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive

  • Itunes deleted my library from my ipod. now i only have new purchases. how can I get my whole library back onto my ipod?

I just transferred itunes to a new computer. When I plugged in my ipod, I was asked if I wanted to erase my old library and put the new on on. I said yes because my whole library is on this computer. Now that it's done with the sync, I only have the three albums that I just purchased and all of the rest is gone. How can I sync my whole music library back onto this device?

If the lost music and photos are no longer accessible by or on your iPod, on your PC, or in another backup somewhere, you are out of luck.  You can download most iTunes purchases again at no cost via iCloud.  See this article for more information and assistance.
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
For non-iTunes purchased content, you'll need to redownload or rerip them from their original source.
For the future, you may want to consider backing up your iTunes library and/or PC.

  • HT1386 how can i get all of my music transferred to my iphone? only itunes purchased songs will transfer, not my whole library.

How can i transfer my itunes music library to my iphone? currently it will only transfer itunes purchased songs and not my whole library.

For non-purchased music like CD rip music, or website downloaded songs, you need some third party software to copy the music from iPod to mac. If you need details, here is a guide about how to get music from iPod to macbook. Hope it helps.
