I cant hear sound on my ipod nano can anyone help me?

It's an encoding problem; specifically, you don't have the proper audio format and/or your multiplexing the streams (iTunes/iPod doesn't like that). The easiest thing to do is use a 3rd party converter/encoder with a setting know to work on the new iPods (like Nero Recode).

Can't hear sounds in videos and games? Hello. I have some problem with my SB Li've!. I'm using a Sound Blaster Li've! 5. Digital (it writes Model: SB0220 on it) sound card, attached on a Gigabyte Intel 945 S-Series motherboard. And I've installed the driver and software from the cd that i got out of the SB Li've!'s original box (Creative SB Li've! series, Release 5.2.3.296), and also installed my motherboard's onboard sound card driver (Realtek High Definition Audio Driver, Release: 5.0.0.5567). I'm running Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP3, using 4. Creative speakers.
I'm okay when listening mp3's or Windows system sounds, but when it comes to play a game or watch a video;
I cannot properly (or sometimes completely) hear sounds, if my EAX Equalizer is set up to something else from "No Effects",
I can hear every sound properly if my EQ is set up "No Effects".
Can anybody tell why this happens? I can give more information about my hardware and software if needed. Thanks so much for your time =)

Since the recent upgrade I lost my bookmarks and ability to hear sound on videos. First I lost VIDEO then thought it was fixed only to find I had no SOUND when the video opened.How do I fix that NOW!
I have lost a week fiddling with reinstalling and suggested fixes to no avail. I have important bookmarks used in project research and study plans . Can I go back to my original last working version?

Sorry you are having problems with lost bookmarks. I note you had problems last year [/questions/851481] and hopefully this time you will have been routinely making your own backups of bookmarks.

So two steps
# Immediately make a backup of your firefox profile <br/> (That ensures any auto bookmarks are preserved). IMPORTANT do this first, restoring bookmarks overwrites existing bookmarks. Put the restored files somewhere safe such as your Windows desktop.
# Did you create any bookmark backups, if so the linked article above explains how to restore those bookmarks
You may also be interested in using Firefox sync, if you have a second device,as it allows you to sync bookmarks on the other device; and they are effectively then backed up.

Having problem hearing sound from my hp notebook 625 pc

I cannot hear sound from my hp 625 notebook PC, i only hear sound when i connect a headset to it or an external speaker. But when i use the IDT control i downloaded, the sound only comes for a period of time when i click on the test speaker.
Please help me out

i have the same problem like you !! pfff tooo many headec ... pfff ... i resolve the problem like this in the end of time after much days . I uninstal IDT audio driver after computer take a restart ... and when was on take automaticly the hd audio driver from microsoft ... a audio device and it s work very good . So give to heel IDT hd audio driver !

Can hear sound of video bought on iTunes, but video is not playing

I have bought a few TV episodes in the US. I tried playing them and I hear only the sound. The video window opens but I see only the still image of the series artwork, no video.
Even the episodes I had bought months ago that used to play are not playing anymore (same issue, sound but no video)
I have recently upgraded to 10.5.8 and iTunes 9.0.1.
Any suggestions??

Weird. Restarted the computer and now it is solved. (had restarted it before)

Problem Importing Sound With Video

I'm trying to import a quicktime file into Flash 8 basic and
I'm having a problem with the file's audio track. The video comes
through fine but the audio won't import with it. I've tried
bringing the file in as an embedded video and a movie clip,
importing to stage, importing to the library, integrating the audio
track, making it separate. Every time I check the audio box in the
properties bar all it says is "none." I'd try that linked Quicktime
video option but my Flash doesn't support it. I can only embed the
video in SWF. Any ideas about what's going on and how I can fix it?

Could be that the audio format or resolution/bitrate is
unsupported. Probably the easiest solution is to just convert the
QT file to AVI before importing it.

ITunes problems with sound and video

So like, everyone else reading this right now, i Just got iTunes new version, exciting isn't it. Let's see. The color of the words is now black, instead of the blue. When a song is played it plays, but it sounds like a radio with really bad static. The files on the computer did not change to the new blue music note, maybe that has bothing to do with anything. Then the videos flash a weird plaid green and then go black everytime one is started, paused, resized, etc. I Also seem to be missing 3/4 of my podcasts from the video section. I am afraid to attatch my iPod for fear of getting the same static, no videoy results, so we'll save that for later. I am currently on my 4th iTunes version 7. Here's soem random information. Problems with sound only on video not audio files

My first post here. I am having some problems with sound on video files. It is almost no sound, and the sound that is there is only crackling noise. I have the Creative X-treme audio soundcard and have installed the Vista codec pack and the K-lite codec pack. I have also updated the soundcard driver. The thing is that these problems only occure on video files, not on audio files such as mp3's. Can anyone help me?

On an Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E7500 @ 2.93GHz, the following are my finding about
quality/cpu when mixing two streams at 44khz:

#converter "samplerate_best" # perfect: 16%cpu, maybe overkill
#converter "samplerate_medium" # almost perfect: 6%cpu
#converter "samplerate" # good: 4%cpu, definitely usable
#converter "samplerate_linear" # bad: 2%cpu, way better than default wine resampler
#converter "samplerate_order" # very bad: 2%cpu, like the default wine resampler

I may be wrong, but in an opensource world (code reusing), i really doubt pulseaudio could lead to better quality/cpuuse tradeoff.
Pulseaudio, being just another layer atop of alsa, could only lead to higher cpu usage.

Can't play sounds on videos when using 'Facebook', music plays

On my wife's iPad she cannot hear sound from video clips when in 'Facebook', but she can hear sound when she opens iTunes. Any help, suggestions?

Sorry I don't. It just happens at random and usually most YouTube videos and other similar styled videos. I'm not really a tech guy but it just seems like there is something else going on. Everything else on my PC works fine except when I want to open a video using flash. It isn't just one site or one video it is nearly every flash video and it's almost like they're loading one at a time except in no order if there is more than one tab. Even if it is just one video, it takes a long time to load.
Imagine going to YouTube to load up a vid and the controls or progrss bar never load, it just stops and only a solid black box is displayed. Eventually the controls load and it seems like it's about to play at any moment.. only the waiting lasts 5 minutes. Even if you refresh it still has to do this all over again.

Equium-A100-147 - broken sound and video

Hi everyone,
I have the Equium A100-147, Its been working fine for last couple of year.
But in the last few weeks has get problem in sound and video (broken sound and video).
The sound is breaking and sometimes uable to listen + video breaking and so much delay due to its get so slow with so much sound distorsion etc..
This remains after new installation (format HDD) of Wind XP unable to fix even installed new drivers.
The Device Manager shows all drivers including audio and video working ok, d'nt know what's problem please help me.

Something like that can happen during high HDD activity this means that the reading/writing process could affect the sound/video playback
But usually this should not take long time
At the other hand this can happen because of higher temperature
High temperature can affect the CPU and GPU performance
I think you have used this notebook for couple of month without any troubles in my opinion you should check if cooling modules and fans are clogged and could remove the dust and debris from cooling modules use compressed air spray this helps p get rid of dust
Maybe then the notebook will run much better

Why can't I import sound with video into iMovie from digital camera?

This is disturbing. I have a digital video camera that took great video + sound. I import into iMovie (using my DV cable that came with the camera) and get video but no sound.
Now, in the past the sound came in, but no longer. Any and all advise is requested. I have to make number videos of lectures starting Wednesday evening and have to be able to provide video with audio.

I have no problem importing sound with video when using the internal video camera mic. No problem (other than sound quality issues with the speaker being 40 feet away from the camera's internal mic!
But I can play back the video made with the external mic in the camera and the sound is stunningly clear, crisp and loud. It's just a matter of getting it out of the camera into my Mac. I don't think it's the microphone; it must be the computer.
I just find it sad to believe that Apple's software is so limited--even in Final Cut Express HD.

If you have lost all sound and video is freezing on you, that ain't good. Your iPad is two months old so I would not hesitate to contact Apple at all. You are entitled to 90 days of phone support.

If you want to try a couple of things on your own, try quitting all apps and then reboot the iPad - not so much for the sound issue itself - but more as a general "start all over again" sort of approach. It might help with the video freezes.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Reboot the iPad.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
If you use headphones on occasion, you can try plugging and unplugging those as well and see if the sound comes back.
You could even try restoring the iPad to factory settings and then restore from a backup, but unless there is something totally hosed on the iPad, that should not be necessary with a two month old device - of course assuming that you didn't drop the iPad or do something accidental that could be causing the problems.

Try A and B
(A) Restart iPad
1. Hold down the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
2. Drag the slider to turn off iPad.
3. Turn iPad back on, hold down the Sleep/Wake until the Apple logo appears
(B) Reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears

Just connect the new iPod to your computer and setup the iPod via iTunes (instead of via wifi).

I just hooked up my Apple TV - I have an iPhone 4 and I'm trying to do mirroring and I can hear sound, but no video. Any suggestions?

It Depends on the app you are trying to airplay. Most apps do not allow content to airplay with video and will disable the video so all you will hear is the audio. If the app you are using does not have a built in airplay function and you have to use the iphone to make it work than most likley that is the case as I described above.
It has to do with copyright protection and what the app is allowing apple to do.
