Problems imaging from netboot

Hello all,
I am having a bit of an issue imaging now that I have upgraded to 10.6 server.
I have multiple netboot images enabled in my NetBoot panel and they are all set to Diskless. Whenever a client machine is netbooted off any of these images, /private/var/netboot is mounted off of /dev/disk0s2. This prevents me from unmounting or formatting the internal drive.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how keep /private/var/netboot from mounting so I can work with the internal drive?
Thanks,
Shawn

  • After Effects CC 2014 problem: Image from frame from the last Premiere CC-After Effects link permanently burned into new project compositions.

    One frame from one of the clips I sent from Premiere to After Effects through "replace with After Effects composition" was permanently burned in After Effects and now it appears in every new composition of every new project I create as the background of such composition.
    For example, I sent from Premiere a clip of a building to After Effects for color correction with Finesse, and warp stabilization and then after rendering, finishing, and closing all the applications, now, every time I open After Effects for any other project, whether already-created or brand-new, every existing or newly created composition (in a Mac Command N) you see the image of the building as the background of the composition.  If you create a new composition, while it remains empty of any layers, you see the image of the building.  If you have an already-created composition with layers, when you turn off all the eyes of the layers, you would expect to see black (nothing) in the composition window (if that's the color you assigned to be as the background of the comp), but instead you see the building.  If you change the color of the comp's background in Composition Settings, you still see the building as the background.  If you render such empty composition (no layers) you render out the image of the building, not black.  I tried clicking everywhere and going through the preferences, and even uninstalling the application and re-installing it, but it seems to be permanently burned in into every comp's background.
    Please, any ideas of what's going on and how to get rid of it?
    Thanks so much for your help,
    RR.

    Thanks so much Dave.  It fixed the problem.

    Hi Don, here's my guess...
    The 901 number is additional space added in the scripts. This indicates that the source image size was 0.
    Since you are making a NetBoot from Install media, under the covers the installer process is being run to create a NetBoot volume. The media shipped with the 27" iMac is most likely CPU specific and thus the installation fails because you are trying to create the image (i.e. install the system) on an unsupported CPU.
    In order to produce a NetBoot from the install media, you'll have to create it on the 27" iMac.
    Hi Brian,
    Thanks for the response. This makes perfect sense. I'll give this a try and shout back!

    Hello,
    It is very difficult for us to "guess" what images you can read and what others you cannot.
    Maybe you could provide more information on images that are not displayed ?
    What is their native format ?

  • Put a image from web on indesign with quality problem....

    Hello,
    sorry my english, but I'll try...
    I need use a lot of images from web, to make a document designed on indesign, and after try with all extension or formats, I mean, tif, png, pdf, jpg, psd, with different resolutions, 72, 150, 300, and different bit depths, 8, 16, 32, and no way... always the image when I put on indesign the image appear pixelate or with bad quality...
    can you help me with that?
    Is urgent, because is for my thesis work...
    thank you..

    pablovenegas wrote:
    ...Now, it seems strange that in word, the images work better than indesign... The subject is that I want work with indesign, because I thought that this software was designed for this theme... and then, you think that there is not a solution for this problem?
    pablovenegas,
    Please realize that Microsoft Word is specifically designed for word processing application, while Adobe InDesign is specifically designed for high-quality professional-grade layout application –where InDesign outputs highest-quality output. I don't use Word app for years.
    To place images onto InDesign document, it is recommended that you place HIGHEST QUALITY of image - at least 300ppi. If you place 72ppi on InDesign, it is HOW you place that specific web-quality image on InDesign. InDesign didn't do anything wrong, it is HOW you put the web image on.
    Word of advice, do you have a permission to use all of those web images captures off the Internet without website owner, or any copyright owner's written permission. If you haven't done so, just stop doing what you are doing (web screen captures off these webistes for your own benefit or pleasure, but cannot use any of these images for commerical use). Just free two-cent advice. In closing, all I can say, be cautious and careful.
    Best of luck!

  • Problem loading images from a return value of a function

    hello, I write because I uin problem in loading images from a return value of a function.
    I created a database with a field "image" of type string, where I put the physical address of the image. I have written like this: {__DIR__ }foto.jpg
    Place the code, so you understand better
    function imageViewImage(): javafx.scene.image.Image {
    connetti();
    lass.forName(driverName);
    con = DriverManager.getConnection(url,user,"");
    stmt = con.createStatement();
    var richiesta:String = "SELECT image from viaggio WHERE id_viaggio=7";
    rs1 = stmt.executeQuery(richiesta);
    var result :String;
    rs1.next();
    risultato = rs1.getString("image");
    JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null, result);
    var imagez = Image{
    url:"{result}";
    return imagez;
    The image is in the source code package
    First I connect to the database, run the query and I take the contents of the image.
    Can anyone help me?
    Is right to put in the database {__DIR__} foto.jpg or do I put only foto.jpg?

    Hello unkus_nob,
    I would rather suggest you to save only filename of that image like "foto.jpg" in database. And just concat it with the String variable containing "{__DIR__}".
    Actually the javafx compiler converts the {__DIR__} to the existing class directory path something like : "jar:file:/..../".
    var currentDir ="{__DIR__}";
    risultato = "{currentDir}{rs1.getString("immagine"})";
    var image = Image{
        url:risultato
    return image;--NARAYAN G.

    A scan from string function can be used as per the attachment. The double \ ('\\') is in the format string in order to interpret the '\' characters in your input string as literal characters and not special formatting.

  • Problem loading image from jar file referenced by jar file

    First, I searched this one and no, I didn't find an answer. Loading images from jar files has been pretty much done to death but my problem is different. Please read on.
    I have my application, a straight up executable running from Eclipse. It uses a jar file, call it JarA. JarA launches a GUI that is located in another jar file. Call it JarB. To recap:
    My application calls JarA -> JarA loads classes from JarB -> JarB looks for images to place in a GUI it wants to show on the screen
    When JarB goes to load an image the following happens:
    java.lang.NullPointerException
         at sun.misc.URLClassPath$3.run(URLClassPath.java:316)
         at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method)
         at sun.misc.URLClassPath.getLoader(URLClassPath.java:313)
         at sun.misc.URLClassPath.getLoader(URLClassPath.java:290)
         at sun.misc.URLClassPath.findResource(URLClassPath.java:141)
         at java.net.URLClassLoader$2.run(URLClassLoader.java:362)
         at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method)
         at java.net.URLClassLoader.findResource(URLClassLoader.java:359)
         at java.lang.ClassLoader.getResource(ClassLoader.java:977)
         at org.cubrc.gmshell.gui.MainWin.preInit(MainWin.java:152)
         at org.cubrc.gmshell.gui.MainWin.<init>(MainWin.java:135)
    The code from JarB that loads the image looks like this:
              URL[] oSearch = {Main.class.getResource("images/")};
              URLClassLoader oLoader = new URLClassLoader(oSearch);
              imgIcon = new ImageIcon(oLoader.getResource("icon.gif"));
              imgMatchRunning = new ImageIcon(oLoader.getResource("gears.gif"));
              imgMatchStill = new ImageIcon(oLoader.getResource("gears-still.gif"));
              imgMagnify = new ImageIcon(oLoader.getResource("magnify.gif"));This looks right to me and JarB certainly has an images directory with those files. But I'm in hell right now because I don't know where to place the images to make this work or if you can even attempt to load images with a dependency chain like this.
    Any help very appreciated!

    Have you tried to move your image-files out of the jar file and place them in the sam folder as the jar-file? I think that would help.
    When you try to load the image-file you get the NullPointerException because the program tries to read a file it can't find. Remember that a jar file IS a file and not a directory.
    If you want to read somthing inside the jar-file you need to encode it first.
    Have you tried to read the jar-file with winRar. It makes it easy to add and remove files in your jar-file.

  • Problem downloading images from camera chip

    I have attempted to download images from my camera chip on several occasions into Lightroom 5.3 and I get a statement which says "Some import operations were not performed-files are not being read (281).  How do I get images imported?  This is the first time I have encountered this problem.  Suggestions?

    You might be better asking in the Lightroom forum

    But there a few threads and hits from other sites if you lok round

  • Downloading raw images from Canon Rebel XTi and problem with Border FX

    Aperture no longer downloads raw images from my Canon 400D / Rebel Xti and installed Lexar Professional UDMA card. I am able to download images to my Dell laptop. This is a new phenomenon only occurring since about 10 days ago. I am currently able to download images from my Canon 5D.
    Also, my computer has locked up 4 times today when I have been starting Border FX. I have seen a screen saying that I have to restart my computer by holding down the on button. I have the most recent version of the Border FX software.
    Any suggestions please?

    Join the crowd! I just started to experience exactly the same thing on both of my systems. Apparently the latest raw camera drivers broke something related to Canon Rebel cameras. I'm using the Rebel XT.
    I tried a quick experiment the other day. I shot a bunch of test photos forcing the camera to store them as JPEGs. I was able to download those without a problem. I then forced the camera back to raw mode and shot a few more pictures on the same memory card. The JPEGs that I was able to download previously no longer will download and neither will the raw files.
    I tried reverting to the older camera raw driver on my notebook but for some reason it won't let me do that. I haven't tried reverting on the desktop yet.
    Hopefully this problem is fixed quickly. I've got a ton of pictures from a recent vacation I'd like to off load.
    By the way, this affects the iPhoto, Aperture and Image Capture apps.

  • I am facing a Problem with reading images from database

    Hi everybody..
    any help will be most appreciated, I am facing problem with reading images from database. I am pasting my code...
                    string connect = "datasource = localhost; port = 3306; username = root; password = ;";
                    MySqlConnection conn = new MySqlConnection(connect); // creating connecting string
                    MySqlCommand sda = new MySqlCommand(@"select * from management.add_products ", conn); //creating query
                    MySqlDataReader reader;
                    try
                        conn.Open(); // Opening Connection
                        reader = sda.ExecuteReader(); // Executing my Query..
                        while (reader.Read())
                            byte[] imgg = (byte[])(reader["Picture"]);
                            if (imgg == null)
                                pc1.Image = null;
                            else
                                MemoryStream mstream = new MemoryStream(imgg);
                                pc1.Image = System.Drawing.Image.FromStream(mstream);
    It says Parameter not Valid... i am reading all the images from database

    I agree with Viorel. You are getting the error because the format of the data is incorrect probably because the data was modify. It may not be the reading of the database the is incorrect, but the application that wrote the data into the database. You need
    to compare the imgg array data with the data before it was written to the database to see if the data matches.  I usually start by comparing the number of bytes which is easier to check then compare the actual to isolate which function is changing the
    byte count.
    An image is binary data.  The standard VS methods for reading and writing data (usually stream classes) default to ASCII encoding which will corrupt binary data.  The solution usually is to use UTF8 encoding instead of the default ascii encoding.
    Ascii encoding with stream often aligns the data and adds extra null bytes to the end of the data which can produce these type errors.

  • Problem importing images from CCO to WLSE 2.13.1

    Hello,
    I recently upgraded my WLSE Express from 2.13 to 2.13.1.
    Now I have a problem with importing firmware images from cisco.com. Every time I get the following error:
    Image download started for device type: BR1310 version: 12.3.11-JA1
    Device type: BR1310, version: 12.3.11-JA1. Image import failed. Imported file is not a valid image.
    Is there any workaround other then import it manually?
    Thanks,
    Peter

    Most likely due to CSCee37875. Workaround is to use Import from Desktop instead, after downloading the image from CCO outside of WLSE.

  • Firefox upon opening an image in a new tab, centers the image from top and bottom and surrounds the image with a grey frame. Just started having the problem today, searched Google to no avail.

    Oh wow, looks like a new feature.
    The "page" links in a stylesheet with the address "resource://gre/res/TopLevelImageDocument.css". If you remove that reference, then the image displays in the old style.
    '''''Edit: Please skip the rest of this post and check out the next one.'''''
    There might be a more elegant solution than that, but you could use a bookmarklet to strip out that link when you want to view the page in its old style. A bookmarklet is a snippet of JavaScript you save on the Bookmarks toolbar for quick access.
    First, copy the following code to the clipboard (it's all one long line):
    <br>javascript:var ssheet=document.querySelector('link[href="resource://gre/res/TopLevelImageDocument.css"]'); if(ssheet)ssheet.parentNode.removeChild(ssheet); void 0;
    Next, if you are not displaying the Bookmarks Toolbar, use View > Toolbars > Bookmarks Toolbar to display it. (If you aren't using the classic Menu bar, press Alt+v to call up the old View menu. Right-clicking the gray area just below the page address also allows you to display the Bookmarks Toolbar.)
    Right-click on the Bookmarks Toolbar (or Mac equivalent of right-click!) and choose New Bookmark.
    Paste the code into the Location box (the second box).
    Then type a useful name in the Name box (e.g., Oldstyle Picture) and click Add.
    Now, when you want to tweak the image display, click the button to run the script.
    Manual clicking is a hassle, so it might make sense to look into other solutions. (Greasemonkey didn't seem to work; I think it might not run on .jpg files.)

  • Problem creating  image from a data vector

    Hello i have a problem in this aplication.
    I get a image from a web cam. I want to put the original image in a file and the negative image in another file (in this example is not the negative image, is just a white image). The problem is when i use setData method. The image become black. If I use setFormat method the new image is the original image.
    Here is the code with problems:
    imageBuffer = frameGrabbingControl.grabFrame();
    theData = new int[dataLength];
    theData = (int[]) imageBuffer.getData();
    for (int y = 0; y < videoHeight - imageScanSkip; y+=imageScanSkip) {
    for (int x = 1; x < videoWidth - imageScanSkip; x+=imageScanSkip)
    theData[y*videoWidth+x]=Integer.parseInt("FFFFFF",16);
    Buffer b1=new Buffer(); //This is the new buffer in which i want to put the new pic
    b1.setData(theData);
    //here i create the 2 files frst from the original buffer and second from the new buffer b1
    Image img = (new BufferToImage((VideoFormat)imageBuffer.getFormat()).createImage(imageBuffer));
    Image img1 = (new BufferToImage((VideoFormat)b1.getFormat()).createImage(b1));
    BufferedImage buffImg = new BufferedImage(img.getWidth(null), img.getHeight(null), BufferedImage.TYPE_INT_RGB);
    BufferedImage buffImg1 = new BufferedImage(320,240, BufferedImage.TYPE_INT_RGB);
    Graphics2D g = buffImg.createGraphics();
    Graphics2D g1 = buffImg1.createGraphics();
    g.drawImage(img, null, null);
    g1.drawImage(img1, null, null);
    try{
    ImageIO.write(buffImg, "jpg", new File("c:\\webcam.jpg"));
    ImageIO.write(buffImg1, "jpg", new File("c:\\webcam1.jpg"));
    catch (Exception e){}
    the webcam1.jpg file is black(it should be white).
    If i put "b1.setFormat(imageBuffer.getFormat());" the webcam1.jpg will be same the file as webcam.jpg

  • Problem importing RAW images from my Nikon D80

    Hi.
    I'm having some problems importing images from my Nikon D80 when I've been taking photos in RAW format. IPhoto recognises the camera as usual, and allows me to name and describe the roll. However, it then seems to freeze and won't import the photos.
    IF I stop the import, then open the camera as a disk, I can physically grab the .NEF files from their folder and drop them into iPhoto where the import will carry on as expected.
    Any ideas?

    See my reply to your other post.
    Regards
    TD
