Problems importing my songs to Phase (game)

I bought the iPod scroll wheel game Phase today. The game uses your own songs in the game, allowing you to rhythmically use your scroll wheel to follow the song (similar to Guitar Hero or Dance Dance Revolution). You are supposed to put your songs on a playlist it makes for you on iTunes, and then once you sync your iPod to iTunes, the game can use your songs in the game. I did all of this, but when I play the game, it tells me that I haven't added any songs to the playlist. Can anyone please tell me what's happening? By the way, I use an iPod Nano 4g 16gb.

Welcome to AD!
I have that Phase game. It's pretty fun.
Do you have a playlist named *Phase Music*? It should be a blue one with a music note, not a purple one with a gear symbol.
I installed this game quite a while ago, so I have forgotten the exact seuqeunce of things. But at some point, it created that playlist or prompted me to create it, and I had to drag music over into it.

  • Problems importing certain songs

there are a bunch of songs on my computer (all by the same artist surprisingly) that won't add to my itunes library, they are definitely mp3 files and are tagged correctly etc etc
When i double click them, they will open up itunes (as it is my default music player) and do nothing else, i.e play or add to my library, i cannot import them or anything
however i am not having this problem adding them to other media players like wmp and real player, they add and play fine, so they are definitely working mp3 files
i was wondering what the problem is and if there is anyway i could fix it so i can actually add them and listen to them, and also add to my ipod
    thanks a lot !

    Bryan4a,
StarDeb's advice is probably the best solution for you.
But as to the reason why iTunes is sending checked and unchecked songs to your iPod, you'll most likely find if you go to the iTunes Edit menu > Preferences > iPod tab > Music sub-tab that Only update checked songs has not been checked.

  • Problem importing Garageband songs into Logic  Express

Hi I have spent around 4 hours looking for an answer to this problem so hopefully it has'nt been answered before apolgies if it has.
I am trying to import a Garageband Song into Logic Express (7.1) it appears to import it to Logic but when finished it reads file corrupt not a Logic File.
I followed the tutorial opened the GB song and followed the instructions on how to import but I cant import it to Logic without the above message coming up.
    Any ideas?
I'm using a MacBook Pro with 10.4.9 on it.Logic is version 7.1 (Is there a known bug when importing?)
Thank you if you can help.
    KB.

    Hi KB,
    Welcome to the forum!
    the answer is within your question;
your machine needs the universal Logic express (7.2)
and your GB's probably GB 3.
That's the reason you can open the files.
If you bought version 7 "new"(from the reseler)
ask for version 7.2, as you can't buy crossgrade anymore.
(until logic sells a new one)

  • I can import some songs from another computer but not others.  All the songs were purchased with the same apple id. Message says "...check connection to network..." Any ideas as to what could be causing this problem?

Using home share, I can import some songs from my son's  computer but not others.  All the songs were purchased with the same apple id.  Err msg:"There was a problem downloading ... You do not have enouggh access privileges for this operation. Please check that the connection to the network is active and try again."  The network appears to be fine .  I can import other songs from his library.  The same songs cause me a problem each time I try.  My husband had no trouble importing the same songs I have trouble with. I get the same error message if I try to import the same songs from my husbands computer as well.  "Command I" appears to show the same protections on both the songs I can import & the ones I cannot.  My husband and son are both running OS 10.6, while I am running 10.7.  I think I had this problem even before I upgraded, but I am not certain.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions..
My first suggestion is to Repair Disk. Here's how:
Insert Installer disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key.
Go to Installer menu (Panther and earlier) or Utilities menu (Tiger) and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
(Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel, and report)
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
If DU reports errors it cannot repair you will need to use a utility like Tech Tool Pro or Disk Warrior
Please post back and let me know how that goes.

  • Problems importing and playing songs from an external cd/dvd drive

I am having problems importing songs on my PC from an external usb drive. What I have is an external combo usb firewire drive hooked up to my pc with a usb cable. (usb 2.0) When I launch itunes, it sees the cd I have loaded but when I go to import the songs, itunes just pops past each song in a second like each song was just a second in length. Then I have some corrupt file in my itunes library. Itunes gets the cd names and titles from CDDB correctly but can't play the songs or import them. I use this pc solely for playing audio, it is a Pentium 4 2.6 with 1GB of ram with build in usb 2.0 on the motherboard. There is no other software installed on the system other then virus software. When I use Windows Media Player the cd is read perfectly fine. I even play DVDs off the drive with no problems too. This problem in intermittent, with different cds. These are all commercial cds not burnt ones that someone made for me. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi Toonz - I have exactly the same problem when trying to import songs - itunes does recognise the cd drive and names of tracks etc - it just won't play more than one second of each, or import any more. i did run the cd diagnostic check you suggested - results below - don't mean anything to me i'm afraid - any bright ideas?
this was a christmas present and i haven't managed to put any new music on apart from what was already on our pc, so am v sad and hope you can make it better....

  • Problems importing songs

    Hello;
I am having problems importing songs into Itunes. I have itunes version 11.0.1.12, but this the first time I have this problem, At first it woould only import certain songs (not all of them), later on I cannot import any songs into itunes, I am trying to add mp3's, and there should not be an issue, however I tried to burnd a CD, and it does not import then that way neither.
    waiting your response
    JC

    I'm having the same problem, except I think I've isolated it a bit more . . .
My MP3s are stored on a Windows server and my mac mini loads the songs across my network. I noticed there was an album missing from my library. I found the MP3s (a Van Halen CD that I ripped), went to reimport them . . . and nothing. I ended up doing a complete wipe (preferences, library files, everything) of iTunes, reinstalled iTunes 7.7, and copied the MP3s over to my local mini hard drive. They still refused to import.
I took the MP3s and checked out the ID3 tags in Tag&Rename on my Windows server. Everything appeared to be fine. However, I used Tag&Rename to completely delete ALL ID3 (v1 and v2) information in the MP3s. Once I did that, they imported into iTunes just fine.
Now, here's the kicker: Using iTunes, I setup the information again, and then rewrote the ID3 tags using iTunes (v2.3). After a few listen-tos and restarts (and syncing to my iPod) the songs are now refusing to import again.
I've had these MP3s in my iTunes library for years now. I've never had a problem playing them at all. As far as the MP3s being corrupted, I can play the MP3s just fine using QuickTime or using Finder's Preview view. It's only iTunes that refuses to acknowledge them.
Any thoughts? Anything else I can try?

  • Problem with creating tracks on in imported GB songs

    Hi folks,
I just imported a song I was working on in GB2, and I had lots of fun playing with the tools, cutting, pasting etc... But when it came down to creating a new audio track, it kept assigning it to the same track as the trakc immediately above it in the arrange window. If I try to change it, it changes both. If I create another track, it assigns all three to the same track. If I arm the track to record, it arms all 3. It only seems to do that on imported GB songs. New songs don't have that problem.
Someone please help, before I pull out the rest of my hair!
    Thanks,
    Kevin

In the Arrange window, use "Create Multiple…" from the track menu.
    OR
Open your Track mixer, click Global, and double click on one or more unused audio tracks - they will then appear in your arrangement window.

Are you saying that the tick-box shown in my screenshot, isn't there? (Yes, this is iTunes 11 - I've turned on the sidebar and the Menu bar. So you can see, this is a CD in my drive that we're looking at.)
If it isn't, go to Edit/Preferences/General and turn on the tick-box box
You can show the Menu Bar (with Edit on it) by using CTRL + B

  • Problems with itunes songs to import to CD

I am having problems with my iTunes songs. I want to import my songs that I brought (downloaded) to a cd, but I'm having a problem doing that. It started downloading maybe 1-3 songs then a message pops up saying "Downloading Error--Access denied" and my cd pops out. This has been happening once and a while. Last time I had no problems when I saved my songs to back up. Now that I have a lot of new songs, I want to save them incase something happens. I can't figure out why this is happening. Does anyone know what is going on with my iTunes songs?

If I understand you correctly that you're trying to burn a CD from iTunes, you might want to repost in the Importing and Burning in iTunes forum. Your issue may be more likely to be seen by someone with insight into this issue there.
When you repost, be sure to include details such as your version of iTunes, how you're burning the disk (using the iTunes backup feature or via some other method), what brand and type of CD you're using and whether that brand and type has worked for you in the past, etc. You also probably want to make it clear that you're burning to CD; "import" to most people will mean that you're trying to get tracks into iTunes from a CD.
    Regards.

  • I'm having trouble importing my songs from my laptop to my iPhone, and the thing is i don't know whether the iTunes on my iPhone is broken or the one in my laptop is error. I've tried every possible way, but i can't figure it out.

i really need help in this one because it's been like two or three months since i last imported my songs. i think the first cause to this problem was because i imported my song but i think my phone at that time didn't have enough storage or enough space for any other file. so some of the songs were imported completely, but the others weren't. so i thought it was normal bc ive been through this once, but then the next time i tried again, it still didn't worked so i deleted the none-completed imported songs and tried over three times but it didn't work, yet again. so i left it like that for about a few weeks and i tried again but it didn't worked as well. i started to browse some solution to this and i've tried to delete the songs that weren't completed and transfer the songs (which didn't work), and a few others but then i think i miss clicked a button that automatically imports all the songs in my laptop that wasn't on my phone and suddenly a few of my songs from my iphone was labeled not completely imported. i tried syncing but it got stuck on the third step which was "configuring purchased songs" and i tried updating to the new version recently but it hadn't worked too, and i wanted to try to rebuild my itunes but i didnt have the guts to do it. my total play counts has gone mad because the songs that i listen to the most, the 'plays' went from 30 to 20000+, it was just random numbers. i couldn't sync my iphone and so my photos went from 1000 to 2000, my songs were supposed to be 1200+ but its stuck on 700, my videos were supposed to be 6 but it went up to 10.
i know the description may be a little bit too confusing but please try  to understand it because i can't solve this problem.

Mostly because you are not using any capital letters or paragraph returns and your post is difficult to read.

  • Logic Pro 9 won't import GarageBand songs from iPad

This used to be a simple process. Import the song via iTunes from the iPad to the Mac, save the ".band" file to the desktop, click on the song and it would open in Logic Pro 9. I can no longer get iOS GarageBand songs, new or old, to open in Logic on the Mac. Logic keeps crashing. When I click on the ".band" file, try to open it from within Logic, or try dragging onto the Logic icon, the only option I get is to save the file that I'm trying to open. If I save it and then try to open it, there is nothing there but an empty arrange window with the name of the song at the top. If I click on all of the advanced options when saving, Logic crashes and says it needs to be updated yet there are no available updates. It's already up to date. Is it suggesting that I purchase Logic X bc the iPad has the latest version of GarageBand? One problem there is, I can no longer open the old files, that opened previously on the same Mac, etc., that were recorded on the 8-track version of GarageBand. Any ideas? Should I re-install Logic Pro 9?

Hey, thanks. I have GB 2.0.1 (which is probably linked to GB 10) on the iPad 2 and LP 9.1.8 on the Mac. I take the iPad on the road and sketch out ideas then transfer them to the Mac. I have found a way to transfer the audio manually by opening the project folder and copying 1 track at a time, but that does me no good as all of those audio tracks get replaced anyway. I want to keep the MIDI files and know how to access them in the ".band" file or change the language in the file to make GB 2.0.1 open in LP9, if any one knows how to do that.
Do you know how to downgrade to an older version of GB for iOS? The one purchased on my app store is 2.0.1, unfortunately. Where/ how can I get an older version? Thank you.
As for buying LP 10, my Mac won't support it as it's 32-bit.

  • Can't Import Some Songs or More than One - HELP

I can't get an answer to this question: why when trying to import multiple songs will the import fail. I have to go back and do 1 or 2 at a time -- huge PITA. Also, Musicmatch would allow you to "scan" a folder and it would faithfully scoop up every song you'd downloaded since the last time it ran and import it. Can itunes perform this basic function?
Any help greatly appreciated. I love my ipod, but itunes seems like it goes out of it's way to make this difficult (gee, i wonder why)!
30 gig video   Windows XP   ThinkPad T60

I can't answer the problem about the import failing, but you can tell iTunes to scan a folder for new music.
'File' -> 'Add folder to Library...'
By default, it copies the music files in the folder you selected to your iTunes folder, so you end up with 2 copies of the files. To prevent that and just have it list the files in iTunes, but not move or copy the files, you have to change some setting in Preferences.

  • I am having problems importing from a DVD or a CD to my Ipod nano via windows 8.  I initially set everything up on a computer with windows 7, and authorized the windows 8 computer as well.  Howevre, the oly thing that comes up on windows 8 is my purchases

I am having problems importing to my Ipod nano via windows 8.  I usually do this from a windows 7 computer and have had no problems; hoever in windows 8 I can only see items purchased in the Itunes store.  I do not have access to my entire library, which includes song uploaded from CDs and some videos.  As a result, I'm having problems uploading any new items from CDs or DVDs.  The computer with windows 8 is an authorized computer, so I don't understand why I'm having the problem.

Consistently receive the following message after importing serveral songs from CD into iTunes (latest ver 11.1.5.5)...
"Error occurred while converting the file 'songname'.  The required folder cannot be found."
CD/DVD ROM is no longer recognized until computer is restarted.

I have the same problem.  I recently moved my music from a Vista PC to a new Laptop with an external CD drive. It will copy one song from the CD and it will show in the Music file and then I get the message ' Error importing a CD - Folder not found'.  I must unplug the CD drive and plug it back in.  I have seen no fix for this problem.

  • Why do I have problem importing iTunes purchases to iMovie 6?

I am quite frustrated. Because of all the problems I was having with iMovie 4, I recently upgraded my system to OS Tiger 10.4, my iMovie to version 6 and all other iLife components to version 8 (my processor doesn't support iMovie 8).
Now I have a whole batch of new problems. Every time I try to import a song I purchased through iTunes into a movie, a dialgue box tells me my computer is not "authorized" to play that song and prompts me to authorize my computer. After going through the process of authorization I am told my computer is now authorized, but the same thing happens when I try to import music again. I've tried the authorization proccess many times now with no success, although iTunes tells me I have 2 computers authorized (where did it come up wioth a second computer?).
What is this "authorization" bull crap? I never had this problem with my old OS and iLife 4 components. Rather than getting easier to use, everything seems to be getting more difficult with upgrades.
    At "wits" end,
    Richard Witt
