Problems in EP after the upgrade of ECC 5 to ECC 6

Hi all,
Currently in my company we are using EP 7 and with back end ECC5 . we implemented SSO using Logon ticket , creted System objects, transactional iviews and RFC's Web dynpro Java applications. Now we got a requirement to upgrade ECC 5 to ECC6. if the upgrade is done, do i need to re-implement the SSO ,System objects and re-import RFC for WDJ applications.
what are the prerequsites i need to check form the EP side before upgradation. and after what are the things i need to take care after upgradation

     I have installed and upgraded ECC5.0 and ECC6.0 in EP7 before. Here are my thoughts assuming you RFC's are not part of any SAP delivered Web Dynpro JAva application (for example ESS/MSS):
       1. Ensure that the upgrade transfers the portal certificate from the ECC5.0 system to the ECC6.0 system by checking it in transaction SSOTRUST2. Also checking that the cert is added to each clients ACL that you need to SSO to.
       2. Each System in the portal will need to point to the new host name if there is one, otherwise, they will be ok.
       3. If your custom web dynpro java applications are using SAP Delivered RFC, then they need to be re-imported. Its possible that some of the code could break because the Import/Export/Table parameters are different.
        4. If you RFC are custom, then you should not have to re-import them.
       5. The transactional iview should be fine.
       6. Test the JCOs that your RFC's are using by going in the portal to Content Administrator --> Web Dynpro --> Click on "Maintain JCO Destinations" and click the "Test" link on each Meta and Model JCO that your RFC's are using. If your not sure which ones they use, find you "Web Dynpro" application in Content Administrator --> Web Dynpro --> Deployed Content. Click on the application, in the right hadn content screen will appear four tabs, click on JCO connections and this will tell you which JCO connectors need to be tested to ensure SSO is still working. Note, the "Meta" Jcos use a username/password, not SSO.
       IF you are implementing ESS/MSS then there is alot more work to do on the portal side.
Those are just some of my thoughts, it should not be too bad on the EP7.0 side as long as your Web Dynpro Java applications are custom and not SAP Delivered.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

Why the wifi doesn't work after the upgrade to iOS 5?

The problem is that after the upgrade to iOS 5 the wifi doesn't work. I mean, iPad is connected to the wifi but not to the internet and also the connection on the other device doesn't work. So I had to turn off the router and then turn it on.

Try a hard reset first to see if that does any good. To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

there is no problem with B/T and iOS7.0.3 in my case used on iPhone 5 and 4 in several environments including in car

Upgrade problems - files missing in site after the upgrade

gurus,
i upgraded the webdb 2.2 to portal 3.0. when i went to the portal site, i found that in one folder some of the documents were missing. what i mean by the missing is, the document title was present in the folder but not as a link. it was there as a static text. under normal circumstances the user would click the link and open up the link (can be anything *.doc, *.pdf, *.xls etc.) but, i could not do so because there was static text instead of link.
has anyone had a similar problem ?

Hi,
I am experiencing the same problems, some of the items are inacccessible, the path to these items are weird after the upgrade to portal 306.
Here is an example:
The path of an item may look like
/folder/rootfolder/rootfolder/rootfoler/market/summary.doc
there are so many rootfolders out there, assume rootfolder is the content area name.
If I manually remove these redundant rootfolders, I can load these items individually.

Problem with"Evaluate User Policies"sch task after the upgrade OIM R1 to R2

Problem with "Evaluate User Policies" scheduled task after the upgrade from OIMg R1 to OIM 11g R2
After the upgrade process is completed we are having issue with Access policy not triggering if rule is set to custom attribute
- We had a Rule with custom attribute (Policy='Full-Time') the value gets populated by event handler which triggers the access policy in OIM 11g R1.. which worked fine in OIM R1
After the upgrade the value is getting populated but even after running "Evaluate User Policy" the Access Policy is not getting triggered.
We tested creating a rule with other custom attribute,policy does not trigger even after running Evaluate User Policy schedule Task in this case too
but if we try creating rule with OOTB attributes(Country='US') it works fine the access policy got triggered after running Evalute User Policy
One more issue we observed is
- Evaluate User Policy value usr_policy_update is not updated still set to '1' even after the Access policy got triggered (as it worked when rule is set to OOTB attribute)
I believe after the evaluate user policy gets triggered for a user it should update the value from '1' to '0')

well, I overcame the issue by 'fooling' the installer: on second node, change the scan ip address to point to something else (ie, different ip address to the scan in the first node, cleanup then rerun root.sh, it went past the trouble stage, then I still have problem later at the time database creation. I think scan ip address has to be setup correctly (round robin thingy)
This is how i did the cleanup before rerun root.sh
/u01/app/11.2.0/grid/crs/install/rootcrs.pl -verbose -deconfig -force

Syntax problem After the Upgrade to SCM 7.0

We are facing one problem during the upgrade process in the sandbox environment.
After the upgrade we have completed the SPAU corrections ,while doing the SPAU corrections we found that one function module is not in active mode. We have checked the syntax,problem is there. we have tried to retrieve to the older version. But there are some notes were implemented during the 4.1 version. Those notes are now appearing in the SPAU with question mark.
We have reverted all the notes but still the code is having syntax problem and the code is in the 4.1 version only.
Please tell me how to solve it...

Phone and Contacts APP not working after the upgrade 4.01 from 4.0

Dear all
after the upgrade to 4.01 my iphone stop to operate the phone and the contacts app
when i open phone or contacts the app close(crash) after 1 sec.
When i connect to the mac i have the following message from itunes:
"iTunes could not sync to the iPhone"Christos" because contacts are being synced over-the-air."
Trying to open and change the settings at: mail, contacts, calendar but also crash

This happened to me after I upgraded to 4.0. While the iPhone update offers some great new features it has really done a number on some very basic functions and overall operation.
I am no longer able to use the contacts app to place calls. I can pull up my contact list but when I select an individual contact, the phone seems to freeze for a second and then crashes. (It might be worth mentioning that I use Exchange to sync my contacts.) While the contacts are all on the phone, I can't access actual contact information for each individual.
I'm also experiencing random freezes, touchscreen delays, etc.
I can deal with some minor bugs but not being able to use your contacts to place calls is a huge problem.

Upgrading SAP ESS and MSS after HR upgrade in ECC 6.0

I am new to SAP netweaver.
Our landscape has an ECC 6.0 system integrated with EP 7.0.
We recently upgraded our SAP HR from 600(SP 48) to 600(SP61) and EA HR component from 603(SP 22) to 603( SP 35).
After the upgrade we came to know that the portal users are facing some issues with Etime application on portal, i did a bit of searching and found that we have to upgrade SAP ESS, MSS and ERP5COM components. (http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/ERPHCM/HOWTOGETRIDOFSPSTACKMISMATCHISSUES)
My questions are:
1) Can we directly apply SP's for ESS, MSS and other components as i cannot find any prerequisites required to be met before they have to applied?
2)If we have ESS SP 04 and the required version is ESS SP07, can we directly apply SP 07 or we have to first apply in a sequence SP05, SP06 and then move to SP07?

Hello,
1) If a developer modified the ESS/MSS package, you need to ask the developer before you apply the patches. In this case, you find the "local version is modified" text in the corresponding package.
2) Java Patches are cumulative, which means that higher Patch contains all corrections of lower Patches.([SAP Note 1249886|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1249886])

MIssing Variants in transaction MMBE after the Upgrade from 4.7 to ECC6.0

The variants which are defined in 4.7 system are missing completely in ECC6.0 after the upgrade.
These variants are maintained for the transaction MMBE.
Also one observation in the program change for this transaction in both the system:
ECC 6.0 Program : RMMMBESTN and ERP 4.7 Program : RMMMBEST

Thanks , but the issue was different.
We found that since the programs are changed in both the versions for the transaction MMBE , the variants couldnot be copied.
Hence suitable FM was ran to copy the variants and can be seen in ECC6.0 screen now.

Can we deletete the eps/in directory after the upgrade

Gurus ,
we are in the process of upgrading our support packages through SAINT . we are using ECC6.0 version on Oracle AIX 64 bit .
hence for applying all the add-ons we load it from front end to \eps\in directory via SAINT .
But my doubt is ,
- can we manually delete the eps\in directory after the upgrade is over ? because each add on are around 145 mb . and i fear accumulation of those will cause problem
-How to find the space available in eps\in directory from the GUI ?

Hi,
You can safely delete files from EPS/in after you install them to the system, they will be in the Database so this files are not needed any more. In fact even if they are ther, you won´t see any new SP or Add On using SAINT & SPAM unless you copy new versions to EPS/in directory.

WD ALV Issue after the upgrade

Hi,
We have upgraded the SAP ECC 6.0 systems basis component SAP BASIS 700 from support pack 10 to 20.
After the upgrade webdynpro ABAP ALV table rows are not getting selected when we click on the rows, But it is getting selected when we we use CNTRL+Click.
I would really appreciate if you can provide me a note or route cause for this issue.

Edit existing Job server and update the details regarding Local reporsitory and save it.
Now try to map the same job server in scheduled jobs and check it was working or not
Or Else
Create new Job server and assign it to local repository.
In this case you have to update your all real time & batch Job configuration.

Faces in Photos showed up blank after the upgrades

Faces in Photos showed up blank after the upgrades (no labeled faces at all) with the suggested faces mostly full of 100's of blank white circles. I used to have about 50 faces labeled with about 2500 photos. Now I have no labeled faces on top of page (completely blank) and only 9 face suggestions on the bottom. Photos also runs very slowly compared to iPhoto. I tried re-installing and re-upgrading and have gotten the same results. I'm using a Mac Pro (2009), OS 10.10.3, 2.66 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon, 16 GB 1066 MHz DDR3 ECC, 7 GB storage. Any help will be appreciated and even if I have to delete the Face's database and start all over, where do I find that database or file to delete?

1. Copy and paste is a very good way of moving chunks of text around, however, it's not really good for moving a Library containing many thousands of files. Drag and Drop is rather more reliable.
it comes up with a black circle and a "!" image.
2. The ! turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
