Problems in launch pad
in launch pad i see a lot of applications which i dont need how to close these ? i feel all these short cuts are not needed by me how to drag these closed/
Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

Hi,
I'm trying activate an instant messaging service in my portal.
I've activated the collaboration launch pad, but when I click on the link I get the following error:
"An exception occurred during the program execution. Below you will find technical information pertaining to this exception that you might want to forward to your system administrator.

Problem with Collaboration Launch Pad

We have a problem with collaboration launch pad, when one user access it, always appear offline.
Status is automatic for all portal users.
We have configured RTC following documentation in help.sap

KM Collaboration Launch Pad Problem

Collaboration Launch Pad (CLP) problem
Hi,
We have implemented a Federated Portal Network. Our purpose is setting
a chat between both federated portals.
We have a problem when we activate the link for Launching the
Collaboration Launch Pad (CLP) in the consumer portal (EP7 SP10). The
producer portal is EP7 SP10 too.
Once done the steps indicated, the collaboration link is not displayed
in the consumer portal tool area if the language is specified in
english. However, if we change the language to spanish, the
collaboration link appears. In the producer portal occurs the same
problem: the collaboration link only appears if the language is spanish.
If we try to send a instant message through the CLP to other user, we
get the following error:

perhaps your user is set to have the lightweight framework and not the default in the master rule collection.
Then you should enable the CLP in the lightweight as well.

Collaboration Launch Pad as iview in the Portal content
Hi friends,
i have the following problem. I configured the collaboration launch pad (real time collaboration) and it works fine.
I just don´t want to start the iview from the collaboration link next to the TREX search. Instead of that i need the iview with the user status and the possibility to start an instant message session within the portal content.
Does anyone know if it is possible and what is the name of the corresponding iview?

Create an new iView (new from PAR => iView) and select the com.sap.netweaver.coll.shared.ui
Create a link in the iView to the contacts:
In the iView properties add in field "Path for Initially Displayed Folder": /alias/%3Cmycontacts%3E
and in field "Path for Start Uri": /alias/<mycontacts>

This worked, but I needed also to activate the Tool Area with activated CLP link. I didn't get it work without Tool Area.

Status error in Collaboration Launch Pad
I still got always an exeption message
"Service not found: RTCClientAwareness"
if I try to change the status of my account in the Collaboration Launch Pad. I had everything done described in nw04 help administration document to run RTC although RTC is not working. Any ideas? (by the way, I had used Rapid Installer 2.0 to install EP6.0 on WAS 6.40.)Did you ever solve this problem? I'm haveing the same problem...

Screen flicker on rMBP (in launch pad)
Hi all, I've recently installed Mountain Lion and am getting a screen flicker in launch pad. I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this issue?
The problem arises when you try and access a folder of applications in launch pad.

Up to this point, I clean installed Mountain Lion and started a fresh user account. I didn't notice the "jitter" at that point. So, I reinstalled ML for a second time, using the account migration feature without transferring my settings. The jittering dock returns.

An Error Occurred during CHART Generation in BI Launch Pad 4.0
Hi Guys,
I am creating a report on BI launch Pad, the query result shows fine in the "Table" format but when i "Turn Into" chart it gives me an error " An Error Occurred During chart generation, The chart cannot be displayed".
I created the same report in Rich Client and everything is working fine but on the portal the charts cannot be displayed.
Let me know if anyone has faced this error or has any solution for it.

1) We created a new Adaptive Processing server by stopping the existing one.
2) Enabled and Started the new server.
3) And now you were successfully able to Create, Open and Modify any web Intelligence reports in BI Launchpad.
It worked for me.
But the problem is that i had to re create the charts in BI launch pad, the old charts didnt work.
If you have any other solution let me know.

am very new to SAP BI/BW/BO
i am getting error while running the query in BI launch pad, which i imported from the UDT
in UDT the values are being displayed and all the parameters were clearly defined
the query is being running perfectly in RICH CLIENT but the same query unv file is not been running in BI launchpad
where would be the actual problem ????
NOTE:
its showing ODBC error and no default drivers specified.
but as i mentioned above , its displaying the values in UDT and Rich client ( Enterprise ) mode but not in BI Launchpad.

BI 4.0 Launch Pad will Freeze When Attempting to Schedule a Report
I recently set up BI 4.0 Edge series onto my server running MicroSoft server 2008 R2. The install completed without error so I began implementing 'Best Practice' Crystal Reports. When attempting to schedule these reports within the BI 4.0 launch pad I ran into an issue.
After clicking 'Schedule' the IE browser freezes with the schedule options available to be seen but not interact with and the loading pinwheel frozen in the center of the screen.
I am running IE9 but I have run both IE8 and IE9 on other systems without fail so I don't think that's the issue. I've also tried resizing the APS to allow more RAM to the platform processes as well as split the services into separate servers all without success.
The browser also freezes when I attempt to click the 'Preferences' button on the launch pad home page, but I can open the Web Intelligence Application with no problems.
This is a particularly frustrating issue since I can navigate within the CMC with excellent response time from the system. The rest of the launch pad is as reponsive as the CMC. I can navigate in and out of folders fine, but when I try any command by right-clicking on a report
If anyone has any suggestions on what could be causing the browser to freeze during these transactions I would greatly appreciate it. Iu2019ve tried to run a Repair on the Edge series application and I would like to avoid a complete re-install.Only IE8 is supported, how about another browser like Firefox on same machine. No need to re-install, you can try to undeploy -> redeploy the web app using WDeploy but it seems to be machine specific.

Slow Performance BI Launch Pad - BI 4 SP2 patch 8
Hi experts, i have this seriuos problem: i have installed BI 4 SP2 patch 8 on windows server 2008 server based on 12 GB Ram but when tree user access at the same time at BI Launch Pad, the server has an lowering performance and to access in BI Launc pad is necessary attend long time.
Could you help me? Are there some configuration parameters to set?

- It is a bug in the BI 4.0 product and an ADAPT01711291 has
been raised for the same.
- Please go through the attached KBA '1933935 - BI Launchpad search
failing with error "The property with ID SI_CUID does not exist in the
object" for non-Admin users' for more information.
- As per the ADAPT details, it is targeted to be fixed in BI 4.0 SP10
which is scheduled to release in July 2014 week 30
- The schedule is subject is to change without prior notice. You can
regularly check the SAP BusinessObjects maintenance schedule on the
following link on SAP service marketplace
SAP Support portal -> Software Downloads ->SAP Software Download
Center -> Support Packages and Patches -> SAP Support Package stacks
- You are using BI 4.1 SP2 and I did not find information about
inclusion of fix of this issue in release notes of latest Service
packs of BI 4.1 (SP3 or SP4)
- So as per my knowledge you will have to wait for BI 4.0 SP 10 to
release and the releases of BI 4.1 post to that will have the fix of
this issue. -
BI Launch pad - error opening WebI documents

We have newly installed BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0 with Client tools.
When we are trying to open WebI documents from BI Launch Pad we are getting the following error message.

Did you ever find the solution? By the way, you should not concern yourself with the AIX system. You should be able to connect with client tools from your local windows PC usng the corresponding DB 32 bit drivers.
I am having the same problem only with webi. Crystal reports work. Issue was not present on BO4-SP2, but getting this issue on BO4-SP4. BO4-SP4 webi worked with other clients; but not on this particular install.
In the past, the issue was fixed by performing a re-install, since there are so many variables that I have seen on this issue. In this case, I've ran out of options that I know to fix the issue. It would be helpful to circumvent a new install.

Apple mail won't save outgoing server port...? Odd symptom.
Each time I close Mail, the SMTP port reverts to 25. I can enter a new port, but Mail won't save that port info. I have to re-enter after opening Mail each time. Symptom goes like this: Open Mail, then when sending 1st message after opening app an er
