Problems in skype after each update.

I have a laptop with windows 8.1. I like to have it up to date so everytime Skype requires an update I install it and since I bought the laptop I alwasy have the same issue.
After installing the update the first login always fails (it does not log at all, it keeps trying to log for a very long time) so I have to close the program and start it again and then it logs automatically.
I always start the program on the desktop  (not metro one), does it has something to do?
Is anyone else having this problem?
Thanks in advance and kind regards

I believe in some instances based off  of several variables the program either executes either before the update is fully complete, the old copy of Skype has completely left memory , or possibly  before temp files are completely flushed in the system or IE (which Skype uses).   I can't say I've had it occur on my machines "every time" but I have had it occurrence but haven't replicated it .  In the future to try to avoid the problem I would suggest you completely shut down Skype,  download the latest version from the Skype website, then install it.  You could also try clearing your Windows temp files and IE temp files before the upgrade install as well.  You can do this in Windows with the disk cleanup utility or you can use software like CCleaner to get the job done.

  • Bookmarks go missing after each update - why???

    with frequent updates, after each update all my bookmarks have gone

    Which update to Mac OS X are you speaking of? Your profile is incomplete; you should indicate exactly which Mac model and speed you have, along with the specific version fo Mac OS X and any external peripherals that may be connected. There was no update for Mail. And where did you get IE for Mac, since it hasn't been available for several years now, not even from Microsoft. It's dead; extremely insecure, unsupported, kaput.
    As for your bookmarks, I don't think they're gone, since you didn't find them in the Trash; they're probably still on your system. You should look in this directory for a file named Bookmarks.plist: /Users/your username/Library/Safari. If you see it there, then you do have them; if not, try searching your entire hard drive for that specific file to see if it's still there and where it's located.
    If her hard drive has 10 GB or less of space, time to start clearing out the junk you don't need or don't use. That fact alone could have been a factor in this problem, but it's unclear at this point.

  • Problems with waking after firmware update ...

    Hi ya'll - quick question.
    Did the latest firmware update last night and have noticed that waking the computer from sleep has become a problem, maybe once every three times I try to wake it? The backlight visibly turns on and illuminates the black screen, but the password box dosen't ever pop up, leaving me with a plain cursor. I'll try to hit random buttons (not that I think it'll help, but you know) and the 'Funk' sound plays, so I know the computer is working and is on. I have to hold the power button and restart it everytime. Any reason this might be happening now, after the update? It used to every now and then, and had sllooow wake times before the update, the latter of which has been fixed. The update was performed right and completed itself, etc.
    Thanks for any help!

    i also have problems waking it up since the efi firmware update! i primarily use the macbook only with an exernal display and wake it up by plugging in the power, lan, display and usb connectors, i.e. quite often, i don't even open the lid. since the firmware update, i regularly get a light blue screen and nothing happens. i then have to restart it through the power button as well.

  • Bluetooth problems in car after ios7 update

    Why will my iPhone 4 not pair with my car after ios7 update. It worked perfectly in my BMW 316d before the update. Any ideas please?

    I have now performed "Reset all settings" on both iPad Air and iPhone 5S, using iOS 8.02. The 'interesting' side effect is an apparent wipe of my iCloud! All documents gone in Pages, Numbers and Keynote. Same with Notability, but at least I backed that up on Google Drive. I still have my pictures, I still have my music. Oh yeah, all my movies in iMovie (the ones uploaded on iCloud) - gone as well (at least they are backed up on a hard drive).
    The good news is that I have now been able to reset all Bluetooth connections.  This has enabled Airdrop, amongst other things. I still haven't tried to connect to my car.
    I have an appointment with an Apple employee this evening to try to restore my iCloud.
    No bashing - but Apple needs to work more on quality assurance on cloud based services.

  • Communication problem by skype after upgrade tout 4.4.2

    After up grade tout Android 4.4.2 i can't US skype thé tablet reboot when the communication is etabli.

    Hey @Asmahp ,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
    I understand you're unable to use Skype on your tablet after updating to 4.4 KitKat.
    Reinstall the problem app: Go to Settings > Storage > Apps > Select the app > Uninstall. Once uninstalled go to the Google Play Store app > Select My apps from the menu on the left > Select the All tab > Select the app > Install.
    Clear all cache on the tablet: Settings > Storage > Cached Data. You should have the option to erase all the cached data here.
    Hard reset: While the tablet is on, press and hold the power button for 8+ seconds to force shut down. Turn the tablet back on and see if that helps.
    Factory reset: Make sure you backup any important files or information first. Settings > Backup & reset > Factory data reset.

  • Problems Burning Disks after OS Update

    I've been working on a photo project with tens of thousands of image files. As I've been working through this project, I've been burning pictures to CD-ROMs. I'm using standard 700 MB CD-R disks, and until now I've been able to fit about 3,500-4,000 files on each disk, or a total size of about 640-660 MB. I've burned ten CD-ROMs this way in the past year.
    Last night I was prompted for an automatic update from OS 10.4.9 to OS 10.4.10, which I did. After the computer updated and restarted, something automatically launched itself from the dock, gave the following unusual message which immediately aroused my suspicion: UPDATING HL-DT-ST DVDRW 6 WA 4080 MA TO BE39 ...
    This was as far as I was able to copy before the process finished and the screen disappeared. Another part of the message said not to interrupt the installation or else I could end up with a non-functioning device.
    Then the computer restarted itself. A second time the application started itself from the dock but said there weren't any drivers needing updating.
    This is the first time in 13.5 years of using Macs that I've ever had to update a driver, and I was very suspicious since it did it all automatically without my authorization.
    I restarted the computer again, and the application launched a third time, so I hunted it down and deleted it. It was some sort of driver utility (I wish I'd written down its name). After this, everything seemed to work fine until I went to burn a CD last night.
    First, the finder looked slightly different, with new buttons and layout specific to burning a CD. Second, the disk appeared on the desktop with the extension .fbpf, though it had never had an extension before. Third, when I dragged the files to be copied into the Finder window, it just created shortcuts instead of copying the files. I had to do a command-c and a command-v to get them in there. Not all of the files would show up in the finder window, but if I did a command-v again it would ask if I wanted to overwrite them. Fourth, I had 640 MB of files, but it said there wasn't enough room, that the files to be copied were larger than the disk.
    Eventually I removed files until it said there was enough room, so I burned the disk. The first attempt produced a disk with half the files missing. The second attempt produced a disk with only 2,007 files and a total size of 399.8 MB. This was wasting about 40% of space on the CD. When I looked at the CD, however, it appeared that the burn had gone nearly to the edge of the disk, instead of about 60% of the way, so something is filling up that space it seems. But what?
    My immediate suspicion was the driver update related to the OS update, so I did some researched and realized that OS 10.4.10 is causing tons of problems for lots of people, so I decided to revert to OS 10.4.9.
    I performed an archive install back to OS 10.4.8, got rid of the old system folder, and downloaded the update to 10.4.9. Disk Utility returned no errors. I finished that this morning, but the disk burning problem remains, and the Finder even froze up during this process.
    My guess is that reverting to a previous OS did not fix whatever changes were made to the driver, but I'm not sure how I should proceed here. I'm also wondering if this is more generally related to OS 10.4, because I cannot recall burning a data CD like this since I upgraded from OS 10.3 (but backing up purchased audio files from iTunes was the same as always).
    Does anyone have any suggestions here? (I'd prefer not to have to reformat the drive and restore everything from back-up and original install disks because that takes about six hours.)

    Thanks Carolym for your response.
    Go to System Preferences/Accounts/Login Items. Delete any
    applications you have listed.
    I did this; there were four applications including the driver update software that self-installed last night. Who knew it was still lurking around after being deleted?
    But, after restarting, the problem persists.
    Is this a SuperDrive that can also burn to DVD? If
    so, read here; http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/feedback/
    superdrivefw_update2.1.html
    Yes, it is.
    This page didn't make any sense to me. Were these posts by people installing the update or removing it? That page seems to refer to the update that happened last night, which seems to have started my problems. Can you elaborate on this?
    I've replicated this on both my internal drive and an external drive connected by FireWire. I've never had problems with this media before. The alsoft.com site is apparently off-line today.
    The entire problem seems to be software related. The size discrepancy between what's reported by the "Burn Disk" Finder window is now TWICE the size reported on the "Get Info" window. It's as if it is reading the contents to be burned twice when calculating their size.
    The files I want to put on a disk are 640.5 MB. Everything on my computer says this, except the Finder window for the disk. At the bottom of the window it reports the files are over 1,291 MB in size, which is too large to fit on the 700 MB disk. But when I select the files in that same finder window with command-i, it says 640.5 MB.
    For kicks, I put the disk I burned last night through Disk Utility. It showed the 400.5 MB of files on the 700 MB Disk. So, there was about 260 MB of space wasted on that disk. When I burned the disk last night, the computer was thinking the files were about 660 MB (which is the most it has ever allowed me to write to a disk). Disk Utility also said the disk was burned in Mac format, and I was under the impression this computer was burning to ISO format.
    Is there some setting somewhere that perhaps I'm overlooking that writes the disks a certain way and that could be the cause? Could it be a memory issue/allocation/buffer size/etc issue? Something else?

  • Q10 - problem with SKYPE after upgrading to 10.3.1

    Hello !
    After i made the upgrade on my Q10 at 10.3.1 OS, the SKYPE doesn't work.
    It give me the following message : "Unfortunally proces com.android.systemapps has been stopped"
    Why don't you make SKYPE for BlackBerry OS and this version that is on BlackBerry World is made for Android ???

    That's what I hate about modern technology, sometimes it doesn't work and there's no apparent cause. If you have access to the google app you could try deleting Skype from there so no traces remain, reboot and start afresh. I haven't had experience of exactly the same problem so it's by no means a sure fix I'm sorry to say!

  • Problems A88X-G45 after Bios update

    Dear,
    Recently acquired a motherboard MSI G45-A88X and everything worked properly until I perform the update of Bios (via M-Flash).
    So after this, the computer can not start more (does not pass the test of Bios - POST). Ie, Not I can no more access the setup bios.
    Furthermore, since all components despluguei, thereby connecting one go to a (processor, memory, etc.). Soon after the memory test, debug LED schism in showing the value "70" (Late South Bridge initialization, as the manual).
    Also, I inform you that already realized the cleaning of the CMOS (via the button and also the jumpers located on the board), without thereby be successful.
    So seriously suspect that I damaged the Bios and therefore the card should be sent to the seller for the same be repaired or even replaced (it is still under warranty).
    If someone can offer some attempt at a solution to my problem (I believe it is difficult, given the facts presented), I thank in advance.

    Hi,
    Since this motherboard doesn't have dual BIOS, there is no way to recover it. And as you've tried clearing CMOS, which failed, you're left with sending it back to the shop you got it from.

  • Problem with N73 after firmware update

    Recently I tried to update the firmware on my Nokia n73. Somehow the cable got disconnected and the phone died. I read everything on the topic here and went directly to the nearest NCS. There they repaired my phone and updated the firmware to V3.0638.0.0.30 (everything else shown after *#0000# is: 30-10-2006, RM-133, Nokia N73 (05)). But after that, I noticed that when I press the multimedia button, it opens directly the music player, instead of a list of applications. Also when I hold down the menu button it shows both the standby icon and the music one. My problem is that I mostly use the camera, not the music player, and it seems (to me) that it slows the phone down (especially when going through the image gallery). So I was wondering if anyone can tell me how to close the music player, or at least how to change back the multimedia button to a list of applications. I am using the standard 128mb miniSD. Thanks in advance and cheers from Bulgaria.

  • JDBC connection.setAutoCommit(false) commits after each update????

    The problem is on AUTO COMMIT of JDBC connection.
    What I did was:
    conn.setAutoCommit(false);
    conn.executeUpdate( mySQLStatement );
    conn.rollback();
    The expected result to the database table
    should be: NOTHING UPDATED.
    But what actually happened was: the updates
    went into the database.
    So the setAutoCommit(false) didn't work
    as expected.
    BTW, I am using Oracle 8.1.7 and the Oracle
    thin JDBC driver.
    Any help or hint will be appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Chenglin,
    I ran the below java class on our SUN [sparc] Solaris 7 computer with J2SE 1.4.2_02, Oracle 8i (8.1.7.4) database and the "classes12.zip" file that comes with the database distribution. I checked the column value -- using SQL*Plus -- before and after running the java class, and the value was the same.
    import java.sql.Connection;
    import java.sql.DriverManager;
    import java.sql.Statement;
    public class JdbcTes2 {
      public static void main(String[] args) {
        final String SQL = "update "              +
                              "TABLE "            +
                           "set "                 +
                              "COLUMN = 'Value' " +
                           "where "               +
                              "PRIMARY_KEY = 'key'";
        Connection dbConn = null;
        Statement stmt = null;
        String line = null;
        String url = "???";
        try {
          Class.forName("oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver");
          dbConn = DriverManager.getConnection(url);
          dbConn.setAutoCommit(false);
          stmt = dbConn.createStatement();
          stmt.executeUpdate(SQL);
          dbConn.rollback();
        catch (Exception x) {
          System.err.println("Exception caught: " + x);
          x.printStackTrace();
        finally {
          if (stmt != null) {
            try {
              stmt.close();
            catch (Exception x) {
              System.err.println("Failed to close statement.");
              x.printStackTrace();
          if (dbConn != null) {
            try {
              dbConn.close();
            catch (Exception x) {
              System.err.println("Failed to close DB connection.");
              x.printStackTrace();
    }Good Luck,
    Avi.
