Problems in using a calculated key figure in the Clustering Model

We have a problem in using a calculated key figure in the clustering model. With the limitation of the standard, in the Field tab, each calculated key figure cannot be selected from the selection screen directly. According to the SAP help, we have to use a dummy infoobject for a calculated key figure.
Are there any other ways to use a calculated key figure without using a dummy infoojbect?

Hi,
Make use of aggragation property of the keyfigure, for summing the values of that KF.

  • Problem saving queries with calculated key figures

    Hello Experts,
I am analyzing this problem since many hours during the last weeks and I don't know, what else to do.
The problem is saving a key user query containing a calculated key figure in the production system (BW 3.5 SP SAPKW35015). The Error 'The query could not be saved due to a problem in transport' occures.
If I exclude the KF from the query, saving is possible, so the calculated KF must be the source of the problem.
The system is set to not changeable, but the 'Object Changeability' of 'Query Elements' in 'RSA1' --> 'Transport Connection' is set to 'Changeable Original'. If I set this option to 'Everything changeable', saving of the query works, but this is not possible in production, because transported standard queries would also be changeable.
For saving queries, die authorization object S_RS_COMP and S_RS_COMP1 is included completely with *, but this does not help.
I also transported the query and the KF again from development system ... no change, same problem.
I found the SAP note 533413, but what does this mean? "This problem can only be solved in the next BW release ..." I heard from colleagues, that BW 7.0 has the same problems.
Does anyone have an idea, how to solve this problem?
I would be very thankful for any reply...

Thank you for your answer, but I have set the Object Changeability to Everything Changeable and restricted the user with S_RS_COMP. So only certain query names can be used and changed. Experiences from collegues said, that deleting and transporting again would not help.

  • Error when Using a Calculated Key Figure

    Hi,
I am having a problem using calculated key figures (CKF's). I am not getting any errors
when i am creating them but when i pull the same into the report it is giving an error
SUB FORMULA not available. Can you please advise how to fix this issue.
    Thanks
    Rashmi.

    Hello Rashmi,
thius is a known issue. The procedure from note 1238872 can be useful:
Download the BI 7.0 front-end add-on for SAP GUI 7.10, Support Package
700 from the SAP Service Marketplace.
Then save the calculated key figures in the InfoProvider (left-hand side
    in the Query Designer):
o  Select the calculated key figures in the InfoProvider.
o  Save the calculated key figures using the context menu
o  or in the properties of the calculated key figures (right-hand
           side in the Query Designer).
o  If other calculated key figures are used in a calculated key
figure, save them as described above.
o  For safety reasons, also save the query definition.
If the calculated key figure was saved correctly, the system does not
issue any error messages when you check the query definition (by
choosing "Menu -> Query -> Check").
    Cheers,

  • Problem in using characteristics as key figure

    Hi,
I have a situation where I need to display booked site and closed site sales value and number of sites created in a particular period.
There is a job id under which multiple SO's can generated. First SO created for a particular job id is indicated by 1 in an indicator (say, ind-1) (which is a keyfigure) and other all SO for that job id are marked as 0 in that indicator. Not booked site can be identified by summing up the indicator values job id wise. Say I have 5 job ids, then my sum will be 5. No problem in that.
Now the invoice generated for the last SO will be marked as 1 and other all as 0. But the indicator (say, ind-2) used here is characteristic of type numc. So I have created a formula variable using replacement path as processing type and reference characteristics as ind-2 which can be used as a key figure. But the result I am getting is in two rows for each job id, i.e., 0 and 1. How to resolve these into single row for each job id and get the result as 1.
    Regards,
    Sumit

    Hi Sumit,
Until this point you have just done nice. Now at this point you can create a selection; include ind-1 kyf in the selection and ind-2 characteristic as cosntant selection. Then add a condition on mark to show values greater than 0. Then you can get a result with one row each 1.

  • Problem in using formula when key figure is commulative

    Hi all ,
I am problem in generating the report when we use the  of cummulative key figure to the formula..
    consider the following senerio..
    Date      KF1 KF2 KF1(C) Kf2(C) Formula (KF1(C) - KF2(C)
    5.10.2005 1   2   1       2      -1 (wrong result)

    7.10.2005 5   6   9(4+5)  12     -1
System is taking the actual KF1data is subtracted with KF2 data it not taking cummulative data, Actually my requirement i want to subract the cummulative data between two key figure (ie KF1(c)-KF2(c))
    My Required Output:

    Hi Murali..
Thanks a lot, now i got a proper output and working fine..
what i did yesterday was i have creted a two key figure as a cummulative key figure ..
and when i try to subtract two cummulative key figure system is subtracting with actual key figure and hence i got wrong result.
Today i did same thing, only diffence is i made the third formula key figure as cummulative ..

  • Calculated Key Figures question

    Hi
In a Purchase Order report I have included a Calculated Key Figures and this report is transported to the QA environment.
    Then I create another report using the same Calculated Key Figures but when I tried to save the query it gives me an error;
"The query could not be saved due to a problem in transport"
"BEx transport request 'BD1K900664' is not suitable or not available".
I was told that when the 1st report uses that Calculated Key Figures and the report transported over to the QA I cannot reuse the same Calculated Key Figures in the new report. Is this true in SAP BI? If so how can I reuse the same Calculated Key Figures in a new report.

    Hello Lai,
Once you have transported the earlier report along with the original calculated key figure, create one more request by selecting just the cal. key figure which you want to use.
    dont release this request.
Now any change you make in the cal. key figure will be stored in this newly created request.
also go ahead and create a new query using this ckf and save it in the newly created request.
Then you can always release this and transport the same.
    hope this helps..
let me know for any further issues...
    thanks,

  • Problems with Calculated Key Figure in Bex

One of our super users have copied a query and trying to do some changes in the new query. In the Query designer, the person was directly dragging a Calculated Key Figure from the left hand side panel into columns and trying to change its properties (Currency conversion key is changed from 'Nothing Defined' to 'Monthly average rate' with variable entry.
Then we get the error 'Abort system error in program and form SET_TCUR-02-' without even getting the variable popup window.
Also when we check the Query properties, we observed that one variable entry (which is displayed in the target currency field in the properties) is displayed twice and came to know that this is the reason for the error.
But why is that displaying twice there? Is there anything wrong in the way we had created the CKF? Do you have any document on how to use CKFs and RKFs?

  • Calculated key figures from multicubes before aggregation

    Hi,
I am calculating a total using a calculated key figure
that has one key figure from a multicube and two other key figures from another multicube.
Also I factor the total using a variable with a replacement path on the dummy attribute (Constant) to "force" the calculation at the material level.
    Cost = Cost(CUBE1) / Quantity(CUBE1) * Quantity(Cube2) * ZVRMATER1
    Problem:
If I split the calculation this works before aggregation at the material level. Also this works fine using calculations that use key figures that must be calculated before aggregation if they all are from the same cube at the time.  The required formula above will not work (zero divide) since during selection the OLAP processor retrieves in phases and with value 0 from the key figure of CUBE2.
Any suggestion on how to solve this without new back-end development?
    Thanks.

  • Calculated key figures before aggregation

    Hi,
I'm having trouble creating a new calculated key figure. Here's the situation.
I have two key figures: stock, value A. Now I want to create a new calculated key figure (in 3.x) using both key figures. The calculation would look something like: "stock * (value A == 0)". Now I want this key figure to work before aggregation. When creating this calculated key figure however I am unable to set the aggregation setting to before aggregation. Now, with any other key figure besides stock, this is no problem. Something like "profit * value A == 0)" works fine and I can set the aggregation setting to before aggregation. I suspect the reason I can't use stock in a calculated key figure set the calculate before aggregation is because of the exception aggregation of the stock key figure. It's set to last value in exception aggregation.
Does anyone know how to solve this problem? Thanks in advance.
    Alex

    Hi Alex,
    please read this:

The reason that somtimes the propertie is available or not depends on the key figure type - e.g. if it is complex or not. I think that here is a lot of info available in the forum.

  • Calculated key-figures are wrong in result rows

    Hi,
I developed a BEx query which shows profi-centers and materials in the rows, and the price, the amount and the amount-value in the columns.
Price and amount are basic key-figures on the cube, the value is calculated via a calculated key-figure in the query (price*amount).
Now I have added result rows an profit-center level in the workbook. Everything works fine, BUT when I hide the materials, the result-row on profit-center level is calculated wrong.
Is there any possibility to hide the material-lines without having the resul-rowts calculated wrong? Is there any feature like "caculate material in background but hide in the workbook"?
I don´t like to create other basic key-figures on cube level, as this is only an example for lots of calculated key-figures which I use.
    Thanks for your help,
    Patrick

    Hi Patrick,
Since the prices and amounts are on the material level, therefore the calculation for amount value will be correctly done only when you have materials in the rows.
Now when you hide the materials, then the system would not know on what basis to do the calculation: I'll explain with an example.
Let's take four materials which have the same profit center assignment. But the prices for each of them are different and so are the amounts. Now if you remove the materials from the rows, then say the system calculates amount-value by taking the average price and multiply that with the total amount of the four materials. That would also give an incorrect result - isn't it?
So there is no way to define what the system should do when material is removed from the rows.
So material would be the minimum required granularity for such a report to show correct results.

    Shweta

  • Restricted/Calculated Key Figures in Query vs MDX?

    Hello All,
We are embarking on our first project utilizing SAP BW as the Data Warehouse and Web Intelligence as the presentation tool.
We plan on creating the universes on BW Queries.
What are the pros and cons of using Restricted and Calculated Key Figures in the query versus creating them in the Universe?  Also from a performance impact point of view if there is any?
    Best Regards,
    Dan Krieg

    Hi Dan,
I would suppose that there is no big influence on performance. If the calculation for the calculated key figures are very complex I would propose to calculate them on query level. So its easier to use them also in other environments.
Please take into consideration that OLAP universes are not supported in Crystal Reports. More information you find in the thread [OLAP universes and Crystal Reports|OLAP universes and Crystal Reports;.

  • Calculated key figures, results and grouping!!

    Hi,
I'm working on a workbook with several sheets, the first of them contains the detail and also several result lines (Discipline, material group and material), the second one has a resume (Discipline and material group), etc.
In the first and second sheet  I have a calculated key figure, but the result has a problem because I don't want to formulate it on the result, instead I need the summarization (total of  amounts by material), this problem is already solved by changing the calculate result as summation. But now I'm facing a new problem, when I try to see the resume report (2nd sheet) by material group I don't need the Calculated Key Figure, what I need are the summation and total result showed on the first sheet.
One option I've been thinking of is to show the query on the first screen and hide the detail lines and just show the result and the summation lines; is this option ok? Do you have any other ideas?..
Thank you very much for all the help you can bring me,
    Waiting for yours answers!!

    Hi,
The best way to show only the summation by refering through cells. I mean the second option would be best.

  • Calculated Key Figures Issue!

    Hello Experts -
I'm getting error messages for the calculated key figures. The message says that the key figure is not defined correctly. Therefore, I started breaking down the calculated key figures and use them in the eventual calculated key figure. I have included all the calculated key figures. And I've hidden the ones that I dont need to show in my query result. I'm in BI 7.0. Also, I had to remodel my multi-provider after making the initial query. Do I have to start fresh?
I have the following calculated key figure:
    1. Price = (Price > 0) * Price + (Vendor Price - (Vendor Price * (Cust Discount + Vendor Discount)))
This is supposed to be an if calculation. If Price is greater than 0, then Price else the calculation.
Cust Discount and Vendor Discount are CKFs.
    What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks Ajay!
I added a couple of NODIMs and the query is now working!
    I have couple more questions:
    1. Is there a way to say Not Null in Bex? In my if condition, I want to say if Price is not equal to NULL instead of greater than 0.
    2. The above requirement leads me to another question: how do I account for the negative values. I mean I need to add them but I cannot suppress them? I hope it makes sense!

  • COPA calculated key figures and scheme on R/3 side

We have created calculated key figures on the R/3 side and inputted formula (which is essentially the scheme/basic formula in transaction KER1) for this key figure.  We then checked off this key figure in the COPA datasource.  These key figures are only adding and subtracting certain elements for a particular record.  In RSA3 on the R/3 side, this key figure is calculated correctly.  In BW, in the PSA, it's calculated correctly.  The problem is when it goes to the ODS.  It gets no values.  All 0's.
Does anyone have any ideas?  It's straight forward mapping and I'm thinking it's a bug, but wanted to check if there was anyone that had this problem before and some "hidden" config had to be done.
    Thanks,  Mark.

    Anyone have any ideas?

  • Help in creating Calculated Key figure

    Hi,
I have a simple question please help me out.
I am creating a calculated key figure, in the formulae i have to use the = sign.
But i cudnt find any function related to put the = sign
    i just have to wrtite
    =KF
But cudnt find the function for = sign.
    plz help...

    Hi,
to create this formula u have to do 2 steps:
    1) Create a formula for KF1:
KF >=200    result 1 , if the key figure is <200 the result is 0
In KF options "display" mark KF as not displayed
    2) Create a 2nd formula:
    KF1KF  result: if KF is >=200 its calculated as 1200 ;
if KF is <200 for expample 150 ist calculated as 0*150
    Hope it helps
