Problems initializing a SafeNet 330 through the BlackBerry Smart Card Reader

Hi,
I successfully managed to use the BlackBerry Smart Card Reader from my PC. Now I'm trying to initialize a SafeNet 330 smart card with the SafeNet BSEC tool from the PC. But whatever I do the initializing fails.
Has anyone successfully initialized a card this way through the BlackBerry Smart Card reader?
I'm suspecting a problem with the reader why I'll try to find my Gemplus400 reader and see if that works.

Using the Gemplus400 reader did the trick. Looks like the BlackBerry SCR reader stumbles about setting the password during the intialization as it does set the label successfully.

Blackberry Smart Card Reader Problem

I am trying to setup a Blackberry Smart Card Reader for two factor authentication. Right now I am trying to set it up with a 8300, once I get that working I will set it up with a 9000 as well.
I have succesfully paired the Smart Card Reader with the 8300.
I have a smart card from 360 Web Secure, that is supposed to be a ISO 7816 PC/SC T=0. It has been setup with 360 Web Secure software for windows logon.
When I try and turn on two-factor authentication on the blackberry (User Authenticator - Enabled), I get the error:
Unable to initialize the user authenticator, no supported user authenticator is present.
I'm guessing that my 360 Web Secure card is not actually compatible, as the Registered Card Drivers listed in the smart card settings on the blackberry are: SafeNet 330, PIV, and GSA CAC. Since I can't find any material as to wether the 360 card is compatible with these formats, it probably isn't.
I've spent hours searching the net for a card that would work and I have no idea. There are many place selling all kinds of cards, but they are all blank cards and seem to need a large enterprise software package to be able to program/manage them....
So, as an individual, where do i get a card that I can use for two-factor authentication with the blackberry smart card reader?

This smart card is not supported by the BlackBerry. You would have to write drivers for it yourself.
The only smart cards which are supported right now are the SafeNet 330, the DoD CAC and the PIV for US federal governments. The later two are actually special versions of the SafeNet 330 with some specific extensions.
If you want to use smart cards on the BlackBerry you'll therefore need to purchase a SafeNet 330 card along with all the software and hardware to initialize the card on a PC and create/import the certificate.

for the above mentioned problem I am trying to add the mpeg2 codec inthe plugin of the jmf studio..and i have followed the
steps ..
Download the Codec from IBM
Extracted jmf.jar
Extracted codec.zip
Added files from codec folder to jmf folder
Made a jar out of it and name it jmf.jar
Replaced that with current jmf.jar (kept a backup)
Opened JMFRegistry and in "Plugins","Codec" and now unable to add " "
this becoz i am not knowing the exact way of recopiling that newly created jar file and because of that that mpeg-2 codedc is
not get added .....so i am looking forward for any help for the above mentioned problem!
I would be gratefull on getting ur help coz it's such challenging and techy concept to explore...

SMART CARD READER ProBook 6570b problem

Last august, i bought a ProBook 657b, with a smart card reader installed (standard)
A few days after I bought it, it worked perfectly and I could read the information on my ID
But since a day or 2, it does not work anymore.
I think the PC has troubles finding this device.
Is there someone who has any idea how I can solve this problem?

What operating system are you currently using? Also are you receiving any error messages when trying to use the smart card reader? Have you been using only 1 smart card, or do you have a extra one handy that you could test with?

Acrobat 9 does not recognize the smart card reader that work with other app. Can someone help me?

Acrobat 9 (included in CS4 design premium) does not recognize the smart card reader. I have a smart card reader ACR38 smart card that works with all applications except Acrobat 9 pro. I tried to uninstall and reinstall it again, but when I try to insert the digital signature message is always the same, that does not find the Acrobat reader. Can someone help me?

Thank you for your reply, i have tried what you suggest, and it did not work, the i DVD opening title changed but not the embedded movie.
Perhaps it is a setting in Final Cut Express?
After capturing my footage, i open a new project then i convert all clips to anamorphic, to give me the letterbox effect, i have tried now with and without anamorphic.
In my canvas screen, the footage does not fill the square, even if i have not selected anamorphic, and fall well within the TV safe areas, but the only way to ill the canvas up is to crop it bigger, but still when i export it does not give me the full screen view.
Any ideas?

If you kept the same Base Station name and network name, that can confuse Keychain Access. Either change the Base Station and network name, or open Keychain Access Utility and delete any reference to your Base Station and network name. Make sure you delete from the Login and System keychains.

A problem with updating a production tree through the DI

Dear all,
I'm trying to update 2 properties of a production tree through the DI - ToWH and PriceList.
I'm using the next code:
SAPbobsCOM.ProductTrees tree = (SAPbobsCOM.ProductTrees)mCompany.GetBusinessObject(SAPbobsCOM.BoObjectTypes.oProductTrees);
Then, this tree object doesn't give me the option to update the pricelist and the target warehouse, although it is possible to do so through the UI.
Any ideas?

If the DI API does not expose the properties then it may not be possible at the moment. However, I have sometimes found that if you use the XML interface in the DI API that you can update properties that aren't exposed through properties in the DI API objects.
Try something like this:
1) Use the GetByKey method of the production tree object to get the BOM you want to update.
2) Use the GetAsXML method to generate an XML formatted string of the BOM
3) Load the xml string in to an XML parser such as the XMLDocument object in the .NET Framework
4) Use the XMLDocument object to update the header fields you want to change and save the xml string as a file to disk
5) Use the GetBusinessObjectFromXML method of the DI API company object to load the XML file back in to your production tree object
6) Call the Update method of the production tree object
If that doesn't work then there is no way I know of to achieve what you want through the DI API.

How do I connect my laptop to my Linksys wireless router through the internal wireless card?

I just purchased a gateway laptop and was trying to hook my Linksys wireless router up to it. Ive gotten it hooked up but only through the secondary device (that catches the signal)... I was wondering if there is anyway that I could make my internal wireless internet card a point or no? Can I only connect it to the USB network adapter or is there really a way to go COMPLETELY wireless? Thank you for your time...

Is your internal wireless card enabled? Go to device manager and make sure it is enabled.

It depends on several factors. First, it depends on how your the email server to which your BB, via BIS, is interfaced...the capabilities (when configured correctly) will be governed by this KB:

Second, it depends on how your Outlook is interfaced to your email server. If it is functioning via Exchange protocols, then it should see whatever the server has for Sent Items. If it is running a different protocol, then it is possible that it is not capable of receiving Sent Items from the server.

Ever since i plugged my CAC card in, every admin action i take forces the "Insert Smart Card" authorization screen

For months now, I keep getting told to plug in a smart card every time I want to download a game, update a program, or just change settings to my user account. It also keeps telling me my PIN to my CAC is wrong, but I KNOW my PIN still works. I am still
able to log in on all of my Army sites and use those sites with out problems. How do I switch it back? Why is it telling me my PIN is wrong?

Would you please let me know if your account associated with your CAC card is a domain account?
Have you tried to contact the domain admin to reset the permission on CAC card to check the issue?
In addition, if the permission for this card is set correctly after confirmation, I would like to know if this issue just happened recently.
If so, you can try to boot into safe mode with local administrator or built-in admin and perform the system restore to see if this issue can be fixed.

Can I use a smart card reader to avoid typing the master password?

Does anyone know if there's a way of using some physical card reader to avoid having to type the 'Master Password' when prompted for one?
I understand some people use CAC readers to access certain sites but I'm wondering if there exists some extension/software that can be used to achieve this.
If relevant, I'm running Firefox 4.0.1 on Windows 7 x64.

How can I test the onboard sd card reader as it does not recognise a card when I put on in the reader?

I have tried ten different makes of card and they are all the same. Even tried a brand new one straight out of the packet. That did not work. All the cards work with my wifes old windows laptop.

Go to controlpanel, system, hardware, device manager.
You find the USB controllers at the end of the list.
Right click on the first one and choose update driver .
This will fix it in most cases.

You asked about CF, which is Compact Flash (which is larger than and different from SD cards). CF is used typically in higher end digital cameras.
