Are you installing from CD-ROM, or a downloaded .zip file from the web site? Was there a previous version of Java Studio Enterprise installed on this system? Did the System Readiness Check report any warnings prior to starting the install of Java SE 7?
If you downloaded Java SE from the web site, what did you use to unzip the file (e.g. Windows XP file explorer, Cygwin unzip, Info-Zip unzip, or WinZip)? Any indications of a problem during unzip?

    hi,
I have recently bought a Lenovo G550 59-046612 laptop. As the given driver cd includes all the drivers for Windows 7 I downloaded all the required drivers for my laptop from the following list
    http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/in/en/DriversDownLoads/APR_Driver_List.aspx?CategoryID=600154&OS=W...
as I am using windows XP Service Pack2. All the drivers installed fine but I got problem installing the audio driver. I tried both from the downloaded exe and also from the extracted folder named drivers in my C drive.I was getting the error "A conexant audio device could not be found. The application will now exit." Please help me out.
    Thanks in advance
    Sudip

have you tried to install drivers on safe mode or manually?
after you locate the .inf file for the driver that you want to install, manually install the new driver. to do this, follow these steps:
    - click start, right-click computer, and then click properties.in the tasks pane, click device manager.
    - if you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password or click continue.
    - in device manager, locate the device for which you want to install the driver.
note to display hidden devices, click show hidden devices on the view menu.
    - right-click the device, and then click update driver software.
    - click browse my computer for driver software, click let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer, and then click have disk.
    - in the install from disk dialog box, click browse, locate an .inf file for the device driver that you want to install, and then click open.
    - follow the steps in the update driver software devicename dialog box to update the driver

  • Problem Installing Business Objects XI 3.1 SP2 on AIX 5.3

    Hi,
We installed Business Objects XI 3.1 first on AIX 5.3  and everything worked fine.
Once we apply BO XI 3.1 SP2 patch (by running the install.sh script from the
BO XI 3.1 SP2 install bits) onto the Business Objects XI 3.1instance, the following error
    [error] Errcode 1: gzip -dc "/apps/truecomp/boXI31-temp/xi31_sp2/pkg/jdk00000.tar.gz" | /bin/tar xvfb - 1
during the installation ( when we checked, the package "jdk00000.tar.gz" contained mostly some libraries
that are already existing under the installed java/bin directory, the error is likely due to tar command can't
overwrite the existing files there), and it seems that the library files in "jdk00000.tar.gz" package are same as
the existing files under java/bin directory. So this error may not matter (just our guess).
The real problem for us after installing BO XI 3.1 SP2 is that, the tomcat log (file name "catalina.out")  throws
the following exception and tomcat can't start up, so we can't log onto CMC anymore.  Anyone know if this is
a known issue or any solution or  workaround?  The frustrating thing is that, SP2 can't be uninstalled (
it likely thinks SP2 was not installed successfully), and this whole BO XI 3.1 instance is not usable anymore,
we have to remove the whole thing altogether (no way to remove just SP2 part).

    We are really stuck here.

  • Re: Installing WinXP Pro SP2 / Boot Camp - Drive Bay 2 - which partition?

I am stuck and I can't seem to find the answer through Google searches.
I have a Mac Pro and I am working on installing WinXP Pro SP2 on a second SATA drive. It is a 500gb drive by Western Digital and it happens to be the same size as the Mac OSX drive - 500gb.
Because they are alike in size I can't tell which is which in the installer. Here are my options:
    476938mb Drive
    H: Partition 1 (Unknown) - 476938 free
    476938mb Drive
    I: Partition 1 (Unknown) - 200mb free
    C: Partion 2 (Unknown) - 476938 free
My guess is to install WinXP on the H: partition and I just want to confirm this as I don't really wish to wipe out my MacOS on the drive in Bay 1.
Can anyone confirm this? I wished this was addressed in the Boot Camp Installation Guide. They only address one drive that is partitioned, not two seperate drives. Also nothing listed shows up with the label BOOTCAMP.
    Thanks in advance.
    Rob

    Pull your OS X drive.
XP and Vista 32-bit only give you 1.9GB of RAM.
If you don't need native access or 3D you might just want to later use it with Fusion, VirtualBox or Parallels.
Apple uses GPT (GUID) which creates those small 200MB and 128MB partitions you see that are essential.
For me, I would just format the drive as MBR, and FAT/MSDOS or if you have NTFS from MacFUSE or Paragon, format as NTFS (preferable), and pull OS X and then install.

  • Viewing Threads In WinXP Pro SP2

    Hi all,
I installed Oracle 9iR2 (9.2.0.1.0) WinXP Professional SP2 and tried to use Administrative Assistant to view the background processes/threads. It seems that either there is a bug somewhere or I missed some steps. The dialog box always displayed nothing - no thread.
Here is what I've done. In Admin Assistant, I right clicked Computers->database->instance_name. I first used 'connect database'. A list of users and roles then displayed. I then chose 'Process Information' under the same menu. But the dialog box was empty. I've double verified that my database was started (i could select table in sqlplus).
Why there was no thread displayed? Did i miss some steps?
    Thx for any input.

    Alternate solution to your problem.
You can make use of v$bgprocess and v$process dynamic views.
    Use following query
    select a.name,b.spid from v$bgprocess a,v$process b where a.paddr=b.addr;
Hope so this will solve your req.

  • Problems installing USB Audigy

Heya!I'm having trouble installing my audigy2nx to my laptop. I had it working before, but as my harddri've crashed I had to send the laptop in and am now reinstalling my system. I start windows, plug in, then turn on the audigy and the hardware wizzard appears. I cancel that and start the install off the cd. Both drivers and media-source install with no trouble, it asks me to reboot, I do, and the next time windows starts the creative bar appears, but can't detect my soundblaster. Only the hardware wizzard starts. Nothing is listed in my device manager under sound or usb devices as creative. Only in my add/remove programs I can see the Drivers, the media source and the system information. Things I've tried:Cleansweep uninstall as described on the website using msconfig and D:\Audio\Drivers\CTZAPXX.exe sbusb.ini (btw - found two different descriptions: do you have to delete the creative folder in program files? And do you need to use regedit's)and reinstall. Turning off my anti-virusTrying to install it without the audigy connected(doesn't work, install moans and aborts)Deinstalled my onboard sound(didn't have to that the last time(ran the audigy when it was on and otherwise the onboard took over)?and now I've got no sound whatsoever - thanks for that advice from the email - support, btw)Only installing the drivers and nothing elseplugging it into different usb-plugs?My system is up to date winXP pro sp2. and as I said the hardware is the same as when it was running before apart from that HD obviously. I presume there is a really easy answer to this like some stupid little box that needs checking/unchecking. I've now installed and deinstalled it loads of times and it's upsetting me. There must be some detail of installing or deinstalling I'm missing or I should know. I've followed the install and uninstall to the letter. Do you have to use regedit in the uninstall? And after using that msconfig bit - do u leave its setting for install or not? I've tried both, but just checking. The only bit of software that has changed since before reinstalling is the antivirus(avast) which I've turned off each time during install. Otherwise the only thing I can think of is the anti-adware program (adaware Se personal & spybot search and destroy)that offered some system immunisation, which might get in the way, but neither of them run in the background as far as I can tell. Can they have an effect?I read somewhere that plugging the device into another computer could help - is there something to that?Help me, please
    !!! Cheers,Ben

No I can't help you but I'll bump your thread. I'm having the same problem with my Neo2 Platinum and my case but I won't hijack your thread. Hopefully you can find someone who has the same case and motherboard. I noticed that the wiring of my case and the motherboard aren't exactly identical or straight forward. Good luck figuring yours out

  • Problems installing Web Controls 2.1 on 6.1 portal

After problems upgrading from 5.04 to 6.1, we decided to build a 6.1 portal environment from scratch. I've run into problems installing the 2.1 web controls. Running the exe does nothing (the installer doesnt even launch). After a few attempts, I looked in the registry and found dr. watson errors indicating an acces violation. I tried running under compatibility modes for xp and 2000. Same error.
We are running w2k3 sp2 servers with portal 6.1.
Is it possible to manually install 2.1 wc from a server that already has it? Any other solutions?
Any help would be EXTREMELY appriciated.

Are you running the installer directly on the machine to be installed on? In case No then try that out. Also what is the edition of win2k3?

Shane, since you must be having problems getting a thread started, I'll just go ahead and try to help you here.
Use IE and go to Help and click on About Internet Explorer. It should tell you sp1 or sp2.
Also using IE, go to Tools, click on Manage add ons and look in all add ons for Shockwave Flash Object. Let me know if it is Enabled and if it is version 10.0.45.2 or says Flash10e.ocx.
Then switch over to FF (Firefox) and find the plug-in SWF version 10.0.45.2 and make sure it is listed and Enabled.

    automatically."
Today, that magic did NOT happen. Nor had it happened last summer.
So I tried to install the files anyhow.
    5. On my previous install I opened files individually when the magic didn't happen and it still went okay. But not today.
Today I started with WebPremium_DesignPremium_CS5_5_Content_ALL.exe file. Can someone tell me if opening that file first was a mistake? And if so, what file should I have opened first?
It opened but I can see nothing in my program files. So I tried the three other files with no success... Here are the error messages:
WebPremium_DesignPremium_CS5_5_Content_ALL.exe - - - Which I already opened. No files can be found on my computer, but they must be there.
WebPremium_CS5_5_LS1.exe - - - I get an error message that says it is not a valid Win32 application.
Illustrator_15_1_Content_LS1.exe - - - This acts like it will open and download fine. I did not do it pending why the other files aren't working.
WebPremium_CS5_5_LS1.7z - - - I try to open this and get an error message, "Windows cannot open the file..." and it wants to find it on the Internet.
This worked fine last summer. Can someone help me? Do I need to reformat my whole computer again?
You don't know how appreciated the answer would be. I would be most grateful. Thanks!!!
    BLee

WebPremium_DesignPremium_CS5_5_Content_ALL.exe - - - Which I already opened. No files can be found on my computer, but they must be there.
Probably not. That really is just the additional content and without a qualifying product install it won't do anything most likely since the directories it expects do not yet exist.
WebPremium_CS5_5_LS1.exe - - - I get an error message that says it is not a valid Win32 application.
Could be damaged, could be blocked. Anything from virus scanners to flakey drives. Could also be missing a critical system library. No way to tell from afar.
WebPremium_CS5_5_LS1.7z - - - I try to open this and get an error message, "Windows cannot open the file..." and it wants to find it on the Internet.

  • Problems installing 8.1.7 Enterprise Developer

    Hi,
we got a new machine (Pentium IV, Win2k, SP2) and I can't install this Oracle version. The setup program doesn't even start.
On the previous machine (Pentium III, Win2k, SP1) there was no problem.
So I installed the new machine without SP2 but this didn't helped.
I think the problem is the Pentium IV.
Has anyone else this problem and maybe a solution?
    TIA
    Alex

  • Using WinXP Pro 64 Beta and WinXP PRO SP2?

I could not get Games (Half life, Counter Strike, Doom) to work using my beta system. Every time I launch a game the OS gives me the DEP error. I select "allow all". Still no go.
I installed the HD from my old Pentium Based PC(as slave)which is loaded with WinXP Pro SP2 and everything else in the world. I don't have the origional CD because it was loaned to me from my company(Which is why I loaded Beta to this AMD system in the first place). I work from home sometimes. (good excuse?).
I can see all of the files in the old drive using explorer. I tried launching the games from the explorer and got the same negative results.
How do I get the correct Via, AMD, MSI, etc drivers on my XP-32 bit HD so I can boot to it?
Is There a way to run both OS at same time. This chip is hypertheading, so theoretically it acts like two processors?
I now have 3 80G HD. One with WinXP ProSP2, One, 64-bit Beta, One on SATA drive with XP Home SP2 (unregistered)lost that key too--it was a disk that came with a Dell Laptop.

    hi
you should really do a clean install for the OSes as the CPUs are differant and need differant drivers etc, most poeple who try to transfer HDDs have probs, until the re partition, format and install.
Many systems can co exist, the boot under XP 64 will find installations and form a boot screen to access them all.  Your going to need a XP CD to reinstall I fear. but then you might be lucky,  if you formatted 1 disk, loaded XP 64 bit edition and let it set the C:> drive with Boot files and drivers you might get away with it.

  • Can't Install CS3 on WinXP 32bit

My second hard drive crashed where the main CS3 files were and everytime I try and reinstall I get an error in the installation program.
Internet Explorer Script Error - Exception thrown and not caught in URL C:/program files/adobe/installers/..etc../scripts/utils.js
I have tried rolling back Java to an earlier version, done all IE8 updates, tried manually erasing registry info for adobe products.
Please help I don't really want to reinstall windows to install CS3 again.

    Hi,
I also have problem installing CS3 Desin Premium on WinXP SP3, 32 bit. I tried it 4 times (!) and still got the same result: Shared components, Version Cue and Acrobat Pro are installed. But Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign can't be installed. I have no idea why it doesn't work this time.
I was forced to change HDD (technical reasons) and reinstall OS. On the old HDD CS3 worked fine.
I also tried the Clean-up utility you mentioned, but there were missing some Windows unistaller components, so it didn't work.
Do you have any clue? Thanks in advance.
