Problems Installing ABAP Netweaver 7 - java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:
When I try to install this version of a ABAP Netweaver in my notebook, with Windows XP, an error message appers saying that "java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: runException in thread main "
I've already configured the enviroment variable and I've tested running javac through command line . The Microsoft Loopback adapter is configured too ( I think that this error dosent have any relation to this configuration).
The only topic that ive found in forum its here: Software Downloads and the solution propoused there doesn't works for me.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks
Hi,
it's me again
I think that my .jar is not corrupted because I've tried to install in another machines and the error doesn't occur and I've used this DVD in the same notebook, but in a VM without problems.
Well, then the files should be really ok.
Maybe a problem with SP2?
No, the trail version is working fine with SP2.
Before I have to leave the office now two additional advices/attempts from me:
1. Please make sure that you've deactivated all installed antivirus- and/or firewall-programs while installing - e.g. the in SP2 included one.
2. Try to download the latest Java version from http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp
3. Install it to a new directory
4. Point the environment variable JAVA_HOME to the new directory
5. Restart your computer
6. Test the proper installation of Java with java -version
7. Try to restart the setup.
If it fails again please check the event log of Windows. Perhaps there is a helpful error message logged.
But I cross the fingers that it's working.
Regards,
Norman Schröder
Sorry for my wrong english.
I think I have to say the same
But I can understand you very well so don't think about it.

Hi,
I am now working with jsse1.0.3 and jdk1.3.1(I can not use the new jdk version, because the system I developed is based on jdk1.3.1). what makes me strange is that I can compile my program without problem, but when I run it, it always report error.

Please give me some help, thank you very much.oh. I have found the problem. Acturally, the running enviroment is under microsoft j++, so it could only support jdk1.1, but jsse only support from jdk1.2, so that's the problem why it said that no class found.
Now I only found that oracle has a solution for SSL which support
jkd1.1(SUN's jsse package only support from jdk1.2). It described the
method and sample code in Oracle Advanced Security Administrator's

Java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError when running DBCA after fresh install
Hello there.
I have just installed Oracle 9i on a new server, since we are moving our database server from one machine to the other, and after going through the installation without any problems DBCA was going to run but I have got the following error message:

I have checked the CLASSPATH, which currently is:

If you could please help I would appreciate it.
Kind regards.Hello, rajeysh.
Thank you for your reply, I have tried this method but it did not work, the problem remains the same.
Please notice that with the reference you've quoted the error is java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle/sysman/emSDK/common/nls/MessageBundle while mine reports the error java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle/help/Help.
So, if you have any other ideas I would appreciate it.
Kind regards. -
Installation Problem - java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError
I'm new to java and have read a lot of posts in this forum but don't see an a solution to my problem. I have win 98.
I have downloaded and installed J2SE (j2re -1_4_1_02)but when I compile my code, I get
C:\>javac jabberwock.java
Bad command or file name
C:\>java jabberwock
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: jabberwock
I have set the path to c:\j2se\bin - where I have installed.
PLease advise what am I doing wrong.
Thankx - need desparate help.First off... make absolutly sure your path has "C:\java\bin" in it.
to do this typepath=%path%;c:\java\binat the command prompt window. this is a temporary fix... you have win98, so you can put the above line in your "C:\AUTOEXEC.BAT" file just below the other "path=" settings if there are any... if not, the first line is fine.
Secondly, it sounds like you have a "classpath=" environment variable set that doesn't reflect your current ".class" file path. Easiest approach, un set it. at the command prompt type:
set classpath=Note:
typing "set" alone will show a list of your environment strings.
typing "set envstr" will show the setting for whatever "envstr" you specify... eg: set classpathwill show you the "classpath" environment string.
do all this from one command prompt window, and use the same window to change to the directory containing your program... "jaberwock.java" now try to compile it. Good luck, Let me know how it goes... -

Thanks againI wonder what else could be the problem and why
there's a $1 in "Exception in thread "main"

The RobotCmd/RobotCmdGUI$1 represents an annonymous class inside the RobotCmdGUI class - probably a listener of some sort. This must be present inside the jar - it sounds like you did not put it in the jar. You can check the contents of the jar using "jar tf RobtCmdGUI.jar" -

Install error: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: ScriptWrapper
I got this error while doing an install of Grid Control 10.1.0.3 on Windows.
Unlocking the repository passwords
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle/scriptwrapper/ScriptWrapper
Exception in thread "main" Unlocking the repository password Failed
Repository Creation Assistant Failed
Oracle support suggestion was to de-install and re-install the software. But without changing anything I don't see why I would get a different result the second time.
Any/all help greatly appreciated.
Thanks.Seems to be clean up issue ., box hasn't be peroperly cleaned before proceeding the install
Please follow the steps clean the box and try once
A. Removing Components on Windows NT/2000.
To remove all Oracle components from a computer on Windows NT/Windows 2000:
1. Check privileges:
1.a. Ensure you are logged in as a user with Administrator privileges.
2. Stop all Oracle services (if any are running):
2.a. NT: Choose Start > Settings > Control Panel > Services.
2000: Right click My Computer > Manage > Services and Applications > Services
2.b. If any Oracle services (their names begin with Oracle) exist and have
the status Started, select the service and click Stop.
2.c. Click Close to exit the Services window.
2.d. Close the Control Panel/Computer Management window.
3. Remove the entries in the Windows registry:
3.a. Start the registry editor:
Choose Start > Run > regedt32
3.b. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE
Note the value of the key INST_LOC, this is the location of the Oracle Universal
Installer. The default location is C:\Program Files\Oracle\Inventory. If this
value is different, make note of it, so we can delete these files later.
Delete this ORACLE key.
3.c. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC and expand all subkeys and
remove all keys under here which are related with the
"Oracle ODBC Driver"
3.d. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services and remove
all keys under here that begin with ORACLE or ORAWEB.
3.e. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\EventLog\...
\Application and remove all keys under here that begin with ORACLE.
3.f. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
and remove any entries related to Oracle.
3.g. Go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT, remove all keys that begin with Oracle, OraPerf or
OraOLEDB
3.h. Close the registry.
4. Clean up the environment settings:
4.a. NT: Choose Start > Settings > Control Panel > System > Environment tab
2000: Choose Start > Settings > Control Panel > System > Advanced tab >
Environment variables.
4.b. At "System Variables" click on the variable PATH in order to modify
the value. For example, you may see a path similar to this one:
C:\ORACLE\ORA81\BIN;C:\PROGRAM FILES\ORACLE\JRE\1.1.7\BIN
4.c. If an %ORACLE_HOME% was installed, remove this %ORACLE_HOME%\BIN path.
4.d. If JRE was installed by Oracle, remove the JRE path.
4.e. If there is a CLASSPATH variable under "System Variables", first make note
of the path defined, then delete it. This variable can be added back at
a later date if needed.
4.f. Check if there are any other Oracle variables set in "System Variables",
LD_LIBRARY_PATH ORACLE_HOME, ORACLE_SID or TNS_ADMIN. If these exist, delete them also.
4.g. Click on APPLY and OK.
4.h. Close the Control Panel window.
5. Delete the software and icons:
5.a. NT: Choose Start > Programs > Windows NT Explorer.
2000: Choose Start > Programs > Accessories > Windows Explorer.
5.b. NT: Go to SYSTEM_DRIVE:\WINNT\PROFILES\ALL USERS\START MENU\PROGRAMS
2000: Go to SYSTEM_DRIVE:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\ALL USERS\START MENU\PROGRAMS
(Note: These locations depend on whether OS was upgraded from NT,
or this was a fresh install of 2000)
and delete the following icons:
- Oracle - HOME_NAME
where HOME_NAME is the previous Oracle home name.
- Oracle Installation Products
5.c. Go to SYSTEM_DRIVE:\Program Files\Oracle or the location of INST_LOC as
noted earlier in step 3.b and delete this directory.
5.d Go to SYSTEM_DRIVE:\Temp and delete all files and directories in here.
5.e. Go to the drive where the Oracle software is installed on your machine
and delete all ORACLE_BASE directories on your hard drive.
5.f. Close the Windows Explorer / Windows NT Explorer.
6. Finish the removal:
6.a. Empty the recycle bin
Right click on recycle bin > Empty Recycle Bin.
6.b. Reboot your computer. -

Problems on java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError
The simple sourcecode is as follow
When I compile
javac hellowporld.java
java helloworld
the error information is
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: helloworld (wrong e: helloworld/helloworld)
at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass0(Native Method)

at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:262)
at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClassInternal(ClassLoader.java:322)
if I delete the sentence "package helloworld" then recompile it . It is Ok
Anyone knows the reason. Many thanks,
package helloworld;
public class helloworld {
/** Creates a new instance of helloworld */
public helloworld() {
* @param args the command line arguments
public static void main(String[] args)
System.out.println("Hello World!");The reason is the "java" command requires the fully qualified class name. Fully qualified means package name + class name. If you have a class whose name is helloworld and you put a statement "package helloworld;" in the source code, then its fully qualified name is "helloworld.helloworld" (or "helloworld/helloworld").
To run this class, the command must be "java helloworld.helloworld" This link will tell you just about everything you need to know about packages.

Error 'java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: rn exception in thread 'main'
I have been trying to install Full ABAP Edition-trial version of SAP Netweaver 04s on Windows XP professional SP2. I am getting the error 'java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: run exception in thread 'main' while trying to execute 'setup.exe' in the image folder.
i have installed 'j2sdk-1_4_2_09' on the system. still i am getting the same error. can somebody help me.
I reinstalled the operationg system still the problem persisits.
Thanks!I solved this problem by reinstalling the operating system.
after this, I tried to start SAP MMC, it gave another error user id and password not valid.
To avoid this problem make sure that password for administrator of the Operation system (PC or Laptop) should match the password for SAP MMC. -
MiniSAP installation error : "main" java.lang.noclassdeffounderror
I am sorry for opening a new thread that might be already somewhere resolved (didnt find it).
During instalation of miniSAP I still have error "main" java.lang.noclassdeffounderror ... I have installed j2re1.4.2_08, even system variables are set to C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_08\bin ... but the problem is still there ...
Any advice? Thank you very much for any help
(Happy Christmas)Hello,

Last error reported by the step :Program 'Migration Monitor' exits with error code 1. For details see log file(s) import_monitor.java.log, import_monitor.log

When I create an EJB Transport Business Service, after selecting the jar that has the EJB 2.1 artefacts (Remote, Home, etc) the oepe plugin fails and can't continue.
As I understand it seems that there is a problem with the classpath of ant build.xml that oepe creates inside folder /tmp/alsbejbtransport/ to compile the bs and generate the wsdl. I checked if tools.jar is in the classpath (in eclipse) and is included, so I can't figure out wich is the problem.
I found this in Oracle, but not helps solve the problem:
BEA-398120
Error: The WSDL for the typed transport endpoint could not be accessed.
Description
There was a problem retrieving the WSDL from the typed transport service endpoint at the time of service registration
Action

This is the the full stacktrace that shows eclipse.
