Problems installing Acrobat 9 Pro as part of CS5 Web Premium
My boss uninstalled CS4 Web Premium, but Acrobat 9 did not uninstall, even though he selected uninstall 'all components'. He tried a couple of times and was eventually able to uninstall it. He then installed CS5, but Acrobat 9 would not install. We have two activation codes for CS5 and neither worked when entered for the Acrobat 9 activation. Any idea why? Thanks.
Thank you for your response. I just found out our agency has purchased Acrobat 9 licenses and will be deploying them site-wide to those who need it, so the problem may be solved.

Problem installing Acrobat Reader Pro in Mavericks
Acrobet keeps crashing and I get "configuration error 16." I have deinstalled and reinstalled, but still doesn't work. I'm working on a new MacBook Air 11" with Mavericks and this is a first installatoin. I had no problem on my old MacBook Air 13" also with Mavericks.
Thank you for the reply. I'm afraid I was unclear - it's a problem with Acrobat XI Pro, not Acobat Reader. My mistake. The link you provided was just for Reader. Let me know if you have any other suggestions.

Problems Installing Acrobat X Pro (CS6 Design Premium) on Win7
I have searched these forums and have tried several "fixes" that have been suggested and still cannot seem to get this program installed. I was upgrading from CS5 with Acrobat 9. I uninstalled Acrobat 9 already. The folder "Config.Msi" keeps reverting back to being locked with no permission to access, which I think might be part of the problem. All help is appreciated!

I would appreciate your feedback. Thanks.Hi LosBashBrothers,
To investigate about this issue, installation logs help in a great way. Can you please share the installation log for this session ?
To create installation logs, enable Windows Installer logging yourself. Open the registry with Regedit.exe and create the following path and keys:

Problems installing Acrobat X as part of CS6 upgrade
After upgrading to CS6 from CS5, my Acrobat Pro 9 stopped working - it would say that there is an error and shut down, each time I tried to open it. I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling both Acrobat 9 and the CS6 upgrade. Latest reinstallation of the CS6, installed everything except Acrobat X, which comes with the package...
Any ideas?Still not working. I continue to get the error message that “Certain elements of or these products are not able to be installed” (translated from French). In the following error log, it says (amongst other things) :
ERROR: Error 1310.Error writing to file: C:\Config.Msi\3a1e5a.rbf. Verify that you have access to that directory.
ERROR: Install MSI payload failed with error: 1603 - Erreur irrécupérable lors de l’installation.

ERROR: DW050: The following payload errors were found during install:
ERROR: DW050: - Acrobat Professional: Install failed
When I was uninstalling previous versions of Acrobat and Reader, it had warned that it couldn’t access the file C:\Config.Msi\3a1e5a.rbf. I did try running the Acrobat Cleaner Tool as you recommended, twice, restarting each time but still no luck.
Any other suggestions?

Error when installing Acrobat 11 Pro under Mac OS 10.8.3
When trying to install Acrobat 11 Pro on my iMac (2.5 GHz Intel Core i5, 8 GB RAM, OS 10.8.3) I get an error message saying "installation failed" during the "validating packages" process. The software seems to run o.k., but I'm unable to apply any updates. Any suggestions?
To investigate problem at our end, we require following logs:
1) /private/var/log/install.log
2) /tmp/oobelib.log
3) /tmp/amt3.log
4) ~/Library/Logs/PDApp.log
(It might be that out of 2,3 and 4 a few are not present. Ignore those not present on the system) -
I recently installed acrobat xi pro on windows 8.1. When I try to scan to create a pdf, it won't feed, instead it directs me to custom page and makes me create page by page. It's not a problem with my computer. How can I solve this? JK in Houston
Hi jk in texas,
Since you're using Acrobat on Windows, you can set up a scanning preset that uses the scanner's TWAIN driver. When the automatic document feeder is loaded, use the preset to have Acrobat "talk" to the scanner. For information about setting up presets, see Acrobat Help | Scan documents to PDF.
Please let us know how it goes.

Trying to install Acrobat X Pro on Sony VAIO running Win7Pro 64bit. Always get toward end of install a "Rolling back action" msg as all the installed files are being removed. No problem installing on my XP computer. I've tried installing from hard disk (folder and files are not read-only), downloading and installing trial version, stopping all services (except Windows Installer), uninstalling all other Adobe products including Reader, changing language to UK English. I must admit that I haven't tried installing underwater yet, but considering it. Online with Adobe Support to no avail. Any ideas?
Try this Install Checklist http://forums.adobe.com/thread/569663?tstart=0 to see if it helps
Do a temp disable of your anti-virus (looks like you've done this)
Right click the install program and select Run as Administrator

Can't install Acrobat 9 Pro on Windows XP Home Ed V2002 SP3
Newbie hozer can't install Acrobat 9 Pro on Windows XP Home Ed V2002 SP4. At end of install via CD it hangs restarting Print Spooler (spooler) and Windows Image Acquisition (stisvc) services, err 1920, and all I can do is click Cancel and it uninstalls the whole dad gum thing. I tried kb.adobe.com/cps/403/kb403613.html. Not fixing it.
If I could change the permissions on those services maybe that would help but I can't do it, I don't have a login with enough permissions, I guess...
So after the third time I just hard-crashed the hard drive when it got to the last ("can't start Windows Image Acquisition", cancel/retry) window and I did end up with the files on the HDD but... they won't install or delete now. I'm infested. Try to install in Normal or Vega mode, it now pops up a filled in userid/serial number box, and when you click ok or retype it, it says the s/n is invalid. I keep having to reboot to get Windows Installer to let me start it (another permissions problem). So I'm stuck. UpToDateTrendMicro doesn't find any evil doers... the kb403613 sent me to this forum,
with hopes,
M3/ [that's MEL, or as close as the ScreenNameBouncer would let me get]Not sure it will help, but try it when logged in as the administrator and with anti-virus turned off. As far as error numbers, must of us have no clue (there seems to be a list at Adobe, but we don't work there.

Cannot Install Acrobat 9 Pro Extended - More Functional Product Available
I am trying to install Acrobat 9 Pro Extended on my new PC. I get an error that a more functional product is avilable on my PC and the install closes. I installed Framemaker 10 before attempting Acrobat 9 Pro Extended. I notice a folder in my files that is Acrobat 10 (but there is no icon or program option in the menus). Is this the problem? Do I need to uninstall Framemaker, then install Acrobat 9, and then reinstall Framemaker? Any help is appreciated.
Hi, yes, understood that they are different things. However, if I'm to
rely on the link provided on the first reply then does it follow that 9
Pro is also not supported on Mountain Lion? I have a MACbook here on OSX
Mountain Lion, and as I've also mentioned on my first post, I was able to
install 9 Pro and update it as well.
It really is just odd that Lion is singled out here. I also checked this
and there is no mention of problems with updating 9 Pro:
http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/known-issues-mac-os-10.html
Sorry, but just trying to really find a workaround for this issue right
now. We though of using X Pro instead but, again, if I rely on the system
requirements on this link -
http://www.adobe.com/sea/products/acrobatpro/tech-specs.html - the OSX
version our user has is still not supported.
