Problems Installing Adobe Acrobat Professional

Hi,
I am new to Windows Vista 64. I am trying to install CS3. All of the programs will install except Adobe Acrobat Professional. I get the following error message:
The file 'Adobe.PDF.dll' on Windows Vista CD-ROM is needed.
Windows Vista was installed on the computer when I bought it so I don't have a CD. Any suggestions on what I need to do would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi PrepetrolLtd,
Acrobat XI is not recommended for windows Vista and that is the reason it wont show up in Adobe Application Manager.

    Please help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With AA7, you will have to hunt for the work arounds to get it to work properly in Win7. Do expect some problems to occur that may not be able to be solved. Apparently you do not have a 64-bit version of Win7, or it probably would not work at all. A year or 2 back there was a lot of dicussion for AA8 users and Win7, with one or 2 mentioning they got it to work in the 64-bit version. I don't remember anyone else tryin AA7 on Win7, so you may be on your own -- basically because it is something none of us have tried. We may still be able to comment and give some thoughts, but probably not much more. You are likely to get a lot of the compatibility comments and that is appropriate, but does not help you.
What you might have to do is create a folder (If you can figure it out based on Win XP) and try to set that up for your data. Win7 stores system data in different folders (hopefully the registry is the same). That is not a lot of help, but is probably what the problem is. Systems have gone through a document and settings folder to a user folder, and so on. That may be the issue that Acrobat just can't find the folder to write the info into. Of course, it could be a registry issue also.

  • Problems Installing Adobe Acrobat XI Pro via CreativeCloud

    Hi,
I am having difficulty in installing Adobe Acrobat XI Pro onto my Windows Vista SP2 machine, via the Creative Cloud platform.  The Adobe Application Manager has installed, and whenever I look through the application list Adobe Acrobat XI Pro is not in there (despite me paying for the year subscription).  Secondly, when attempting to download via the web interface of CreativeCloud the Adobe Application Manager gets brought into view, but still the application does not install or download - and does not present me with any error messages.
    Thoughts please?

  • Problems with Adobe Acrobat Professional 7.0

I had a computer crash and had to re-install the Adobe 7.0 software which was an upgrade.   It took a call to tech support to get a code to install the upgrade again.  Whenever I open the software I get the following windows:
FileOpen              The FileOpen Manager service is not running.  (clock ok) to contiinue
FileOpen               The plug-in will not be loaded.  (click ok) to continue
Adobe Acrobat        There was an error while loading the plug-in "FileOpen.api".  The plug-in failed to initialize.  (click ok) to continue.
By clicking ok to continue I finally get to Adobe and am able to continue.  I've updated the software but the problem continues.
If anyone has a solution, please contact me at: [email address deleted host].

  • Problem installing Adobe Acrobat Pro 9

I have an HP Pavilion dvd6-3033 with Windows 7 Home Premium operating system. Some time ago I purchased and installed the Adobe Creative Suite 5 Web Premium system which included a disc with Adobe Acrobate Pro 9. Everything installed just fine. Recently my hard drive went bad and I had to install a new one. After reinstalling Windows 7 Home Premium I reinstalled the Creative Suite 5 just fine, but the Acrobat Pro 9 installation, after running for a while, produces Error 1311 (Source file not found: F:\Acrobat 9\Data1.cab  Verify the file exists and that you can access it.) I checked the Acrobat9 folder on the installation disc and Data1.cab is there, but apparently the installer for some reason doesn't recognize it. Any suggestions on what to do?

  • Problems installing Adobe acrobat 6.0 Pro on Surface Pro

I cannot complete the installation of Adobe acrobat 6.0 Pro on Surface Pro. The process stopped and the status bar is about 70%. I cannot close of cancel the process. It is stuck on my computer.

Is it running Win 8 and is it 32 or 64 bit OS? AA 6 is not listed as compatible with Win8 and you may very likely have to buy AA XI. Sorry, but AA 6 is too old for an upgrade.

  • Problems installing Adobe Acrobat Pro X (language mix-up)

    Hey,
I have a license for the Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Design Standard in English. I have no problems whatsoever installing and using InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. However when I try to open Acrobat (from the install CD I installed the other applications from as well), it asks me to enter the serial number. It then informs me the serial number is not valid for this product (and shows me it tries to activate a German version of Acrobat). I'm really desperate; is there anyone who has had this issue and managed to fix it?
Thanks so much in advance, Julia

uninstall any acrobat versions and readers.
if you have windows, clean Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs
then see if you have any acrobat preference files and remove them, http://help.adobe.com/en_US/acrobat/X/pro/using/WS58a04a822e3e50102bd615109794195ff-7feb.w .html
then copy the installation files from your cd to a desktop directory and start your cs5.5 installation from that directory.

  • Problems installing adobe acrobat

When I try to open up acrobat an error message pops up that says, "unable to find "Adobe pdf" printer or "acrobat distiller" printer" & asks if i want to run in repair mode. how do i fix this?

Have you tried allowing Acrobat to repair itself as it has suggested?  If so do you receive any additional error messages while allowing the installation to repair itself?

  • Can't install Adobe Acrobat Professional 11.0 on my MacBook Air with OS X 10.10.1 Yosemite software. Are they incompatible?

Is there something I am doing wrong or are the two incompatible?

I see you marked my question correct. Does that mean it is all now solved? If so - great!

  • Installing Adobe Acrobat Pro - Error 1317 or 1310

Ok, this is a complicated back-story.  Wasting third day trying to setup my old PC for my mom (new one coming tomorrow).
So first I did a clean XP install on one partition.  Then through it installed windows 7 on second partition.
On the Win7 partition, first time I tried to installed Adobe Acrobat Professional I got an error during install.  I think it was 1310.  Then I decided to try to install Office 2003, got same error about 20% through.  Very strange.  I messed with some folder permissions, ran as administrator, even tried creating an administrator account and installing in there, same result.
Then I decided to re-install everything again from scratch.  Formatted the disk, made new partitions, installed XP, installed Win7 Pro.  Tried to install office 2003 first, that worked.
Then tried to install Acrobat 8 Pro again, error 1310.  Then download Acrobat 9 Pro from Adobe to see if a newer version might do the trick.  Similar error 1317, this on about attempting to create a directory in program files\adobe\acrobat9.0\designer8.2\de\templates.
Interestingly, the story doesn't stop there.  After one of these errors happens, I think it causes some sort of file system error.  One time I got a baloon setup_wm (if I remember right) something about file system being corrupt and unstable.  And if I try to open a browser after that things don't work.  If I reboot, it runs chkdsk and everything seems fine after, but no matter what I try I can't get passed that error.
    Any ideas?

I had a failure to install Acrobat Pro 8 on a windows 7 machine with several tries and failing with Error 1310 every time until I did this:
start->type uac in the run box then clik on "Change user account control settings" located at the top of the list
drag the slider all the way to the bottom, this turns UAC off
    restart the computer
install your software and get any updates needed
the turn uac back on and restart
    worked for me

  • Can't activate Adobe Acrobat Professional 7.0

I re-installed Adobe Acrobat Professional and cannot activate it. Adobe says it is a stale product and no longer supported. They said download 22020134.exe and provided a serial number. It does not work.

    Please see http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/creative-suite-2-activation-end-life.htm l
If you already did that (and be sure to use the NEW serial number with the NEW download) tell us what "do not work" means, please.

  • Adobe Acrobat Professional 8.0 Questions

    Hi, there.
I'm new to this kind of programme. So, maybe I ask some strange questions.
    1. I bought my notebook with Adobe Reader 7.0 installed. A week ago I had to convert a PDF document into a JPEG one. So, I downloaded a free programme to do it. But the result had a watermark on it that brought me to uninstall that programme. Today I've installed Adobe Acrobat Professional 8.0. Can I uninstall my Adobe Reader 7.0?
    2. I can't remember which printer the uninstalled free programme used. There are two printers now, i.e. Adobe PDF and PDF-File. Which one is used by Adobe Acrobat Professional 8.0 so that I can delete the other?
    3. My friend told me a month ago that there's an apart setup, i.e. a so-called PDF_Printer. He realized this when his mate explored the installation CD. Is this a case that I have to know?
    Thanks before for answering.
    Cheers.

    1. Yes but you "may" end up having to reinstall Acrobat. I believe they share some resources.
    2. Adobe PDF is installed with Acrobat
    3. Sounds like the PDF printer is already installed (see answer #2)

  • Adobe Acrobat Professional X (Win) download help requested

I recently purchased a new laptop and would like to install Adobe Acrobat Professional X onto it.  I have previously purchased the program; however, I cannot download it from my Adobe account.  Only the serial number is listed under "My Products."  I have tried to find AAPX on the Adobe website in order to download/install, but everything keeps redirecting me to AAPXI.  Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can redownload AAPX?
Thank you for your time and advice!
    Marnie

You can download the trial version of the software thru the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site or else the download will not work properly.
