Problems installing Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 - Rollback action issue.

Im having problems installing Adobe Photoshop Elements 9.
The problem is right at the end of installation, it says status is registering and then immediately does an action rollback.
The message "The wizard was interrupted before Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 could be completely installed. Your system has not been modified. To complete installation at another time, please run setup again."
I have also created a new administrator account and after rebooting tried to install it but with the same result. It appears to get to the end of the program install but falls over just before the Organiser install. There are no error messages. AV and surplus programs have been stopped. Desktop clean up run.  XP machine well within required spec.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Dave

The Adobe applications manager will also not install.

  • Im having problems installing Adobe Photoshop Elements 8

    Hello!
Please excuse my bad English. I help myself with Google translate.
    I have a Mac OS X 10.6.6.
Even one month before I download the and installed a trial version of Adobe Design Premium CS5. Trial period has expired. I intend it in the short to buy.
But the problem I have with PSE8.
I bought a Wacom intuos tablet. So I can download Adobe Photoshop Elements 8. But I can not install the program.
I tried all three tips but I did not succeed. then I clicked the button More informations.
It has opened up another window titledPackage for Suport. The content is as follows: Please copy the "key" bellow to a safe location and press Close. You will need this key if you open a support case with Adobe. If you need this key I will be sent it separately.
    Please help me install PSE8.
Thank you very much for the reply

Well now the forum finally working like it should. I was always logged in, I saw my name at the top. However, when I clicked on the link Log / Registration, came forward error 404th I waited one hour without logging off and re-clicked. Finally, the forum in my browser started to work normally.
There is no problem that would not be able to send files to the server from which it can take you. The problem is that my /Library/Logs/Adobe/  folder is empty. How is it that the folder is empty? I have installed Adobe Design Premium CS5 too, although tryal version has expired. And even these files can not look in the folder. PSE8 but I can not even until the end of Installations.
So I tried to send Screnshot to you to see that the folder is empty. I know that you need a file, but how do I send it to you, if the file is not in the folder?
Maybe I have the settings set to not see certain files?
I called the support in my country, but only help those who have bought the program in their company. :-(((

  • Problem installing adobe photoshop elements 4.0 on to my new macbook air

just tried installing previously purchased adobe photoshop elements 4.0 on to my new macbook air... it gave me an error and asked that i contact manufacturer... kinda cant wait til tomorrow... anyone out there that can help?

This forum is only to discuss how the forums operate, not products
If you go to the Forums Index http://forums.adobe.com/index.jspa
You will be able to select a forum for the Adobe product you use
When you go to the product forum "gave me an error" is really not enough information for anyone to help

  • Problem Installing Adobe Photoshop Elements 12

    Installing from DVD.
The installation process has encountered an error while installing Shared Technologies.
Please restart uyour system and try again.
Second and subsequent attempts produce the same error.
Followed the three pieces of troubleshooting advice from the Adobe website.
Packaged the problem with ID 40-81558-004221012014
    What do I do now?
I notice another question with the same problem unanswered since 15 December 2013. I hope not to wait that long.

I am having the same problem as "yraG128".  While attempting to install PSE12 on a Windows 8 PC I get an error message:  "The installation process has encountered an error while installing Shared Technologies. Please restart your system and try again."
I have also followed the directions provided at the link I show below; namely, delete the two files, reboot and install PSE again. I did this 3 times. (Insanity=Trying the same thing over and over and expecting different results.) Yep, I guess I'm guilty.
PLEASE...CAN SOMEONE AT ADOBE PROVIDE ASSISTANCE?
    Thank you.
Here's the Help link that I refer to above. The "solution" did not correct the problem:

  • Problem installing Adobe Photoshop Elements "Shared Technologies" solved

I was contacted by Adobe Support.  They remotely took over my computer.  Disabled the Antivirus and Firewall temporarily until restart after installation.  Then created a file labelled ADOBE.  I put in the disc and they downloaded the APE 10 to the folder, selected the SET UP icon, selected Administrator and began the installation.  It didn't get hung up at the "Shared Technologies" this time and was successfully downloaded. I appreciate their patience and help.  It seems the problem is system specific and it is a bit frustrating, but it is solved.

    Sorry for the trouble, 907Faribanks.
There was an issue with some of the Shared Technologies, so you'll need to update the installer. The instructions for doing so are here: http://adobe.ly/KB92579

  • Installing Adobe Photoshop Elements Causes My Computer to Cut Out on Booting UP!

I have installed Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 on my new computer running windows 7 64 bit. I did not appreciate the problems. The first time that I installed it the computer shut down as soon as it was loaded and from then onwards it shut down within seconds of the computer booting up into windows. I used system restore to take the computer back to before Elements 10 was installed. The computer kept on switching off after windows had booted up. Took it into the technician who thought the PSU was at fault and he put in a new unit. The computer then worked fine until I installed Elements 10 and again the computer switches off as soon as windows as booted up. I have again used system restore to take the computer back to before Elements 10 was installed, still it switches off shortly after booting into windows. What can I do to get things to work properly?  I have a brand new computer that I am unable to use as a result of installing Elements 10. I am typing this on my old computer running Vista 34 bit with Elements 10 installed and all working well. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

I have had a similar experience - Elements organizer crashed and even when not running, my computer froze after a few minutes.  My PC had never crashed before this installation.
    I found a solution though...
After a little sleuthing using task manager, I found that all the memory in my system (4GB) gets suddenly hogged (within seconds) by the "Elements Organizer" process (3GB) ... I found the service correspponding to this process, "Adobe Active File Monitor v10", stopped it and set autostart to manual.  My PC no longer crashes.
I think Adobe needs to look into this one - it has all the hallmarks of a nasty memory leak.
A couple of possible clues as to why certain systems don't take well to this service:
    - I have a few very large video clips (2hours+) on my PC
    - I installed trial products like light room, CS5 before settling on Photoshop+Premiere Elements - could leftovers after uninstalling cause conflicts?
    - I have other video editors on my system that I don't use, like Corel VideoStudio and Sony Vegas.
    Thoughts?

  • Is it safe to uninstall Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 after installing Adobe Photoshop Elements 12?

Is it safe to uninstall Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 after installing Adobe Photoshop Elements 12?  I just upgraded from 10 to 12 and wanted to know if it is safe or if there would be any issues with uninstalling and removing Adobe Photoshop Elements 10.

Yes you can, if you are happy with the way PSE12 is running.
However both apps will happily co-exist, and there is no duplication as both use the same images on your hard drive.
PSE10 also has some features now removed from PSE12 as Adobe transitions towards 64 bit applications. See my PSE12 first look link:
