Problems Installing Dreamweaver

Hi there,
I am having some issues installing Dreamweaver on my laptop.
I have just installed it perfectly well on my work laptop and I
have just tried to install it on my personal laptop and it looks as
though it has installed and you can double click to run it, it
comes up with the initial screen and then nothing else happens, it
closes itself.
Does anyone have any ideas why or possible solutions?
Thanks in advance

  • Problems installing Dreamweaver CS3

Hi, I've been trying to install Dreamweaver CS3 on my Vista
computer, home premium and I've already spent numerous hours
    installing and uninstalling the product!
The problem is that the installer fails to install Adobe Cue
    Client CS3.
I've googled the problem and found that logs were generated
    on a gzip file on C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Installers\
    as i've read here:
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb401401&sliceId=1
All anti-virus (NOD32) and firewalls (COMODO) are disabled.
Like the page suggests I've uninstalled all products from
Adobe, except Acrobat 8 and and run the CS3cleaner scripts provided
by you, in level 2, to clean all files from my computer, as a page
    from adobe recommends too.
I've alse run tried to run the installer as administrator,
    with the same results.
I provide the install log from Adobe Dreamweaver on link
    http://www.sendspace.com/file/s27cuj,
from the last PayloadInstaller that failed to install.
On event manager the error is logged like this:
    quote:
Product: Adobe Version Cue CS3 Client -- Error 1920.Service
    ##Id_String1.6844F930_1628_4223_B5CC_5BB94B879762## (Bonjour
Service) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient
    privileges to start system services.
How can I solve this problem??

I would recommend calling as well. I ran into a similar
problem on the Mac side and they have information to provide you
beyond the KB articles. Although I have just decided to do without
it since I really did not utilize its functionality so if you feel
the same I would recommend not using the program as well.

  • Problems installing Dreamweaver on Terminal Server 2008

    Hi,
We are running a Terminal Services server with Windows Server 2008 and have successfully installed many programs that end users can run via Remote Applications and they all work.
I have recently installed Dreamweaver on the Terminal Server, but failed at the first hurdle as I could not get it to run on the terminal server logged on as administrator.  I click on the link to the program & nothing happens, when I check in Task Manager there is nothing listed in the list of applications, but dreamweaver is running as a process. If I click on it again, I get another process running, and so on...
We have a site license for the whole CS3 Design Premium set of programs and we usually run the installed program, enter the license key when prompted then all other installed CS3 programs run on that workstation. However, I cannot even get this program to prompt for the license key.
Does anyone have any ideas where I am going wrong?
    Many thanks

  • Problems installing Dreamweaver 8

Dreamweaver was installed and when trying to remember all my connections to my site, I hit test. It did not work. I made a change and hit test again and it hung up. I had to "end task" and when I tried to start Dreamweaver again, the window flashed up for not even a second and then disappeared. I restarted my computer and still no luck so I uninstalled through "remove programs" and installed it again. The same thing happened. Window flashed up and disappeared. So I uninstalled yet again and now my computer is telling me that there are not privileges to install again and I can't even make the install disk work. I just get error message : "Error 1303. the installer has insufficient privileges to access this directory: C:\Program Files\Macromedia\Dreamweaver8\ ...\JSExtensions."
    How can I fix this?

    Dear Galen1artist,
Oh, boy, sounds like a bit of a delay there...
It couldn't be that the activations are used up?
Probably Dreamweaver 8 didn't need to be activated?
On the CS versions one does have to activate, and gets 2 ? activations.
After that it locks up and one has to call Adobe to get more activations. Meaning the program won't work until one calls Adobe and they activte it again.
    Good luck, there.
    Sincerely,
    Hope

  • Problems running Dreamweaver CS3

Hi, i hown an Acer Aspire 8920g (Vista home premium).
The problem is: when i try to run Dreamweaver CS3 (it doesn't
mater if it is my licensed version or the trial version from the
Adobe site), the green spash screen opens, but it stops and then
    crashes when showing "initializing files".
I tried several times, with or without Vista SP1 and updating
acer drivers from acer website, but nothing.
I tried to run it without Aero, in XPSP2 mode, but nothing.
I have to say i have this problem only on this machine; i
already installed Dreamweaver CS3 on other computers with Vista and
    everyting was ok.
I have problems installing Dreamweaver 8 too (it seem it runs
bu, after the splash screen, it disapears all of a sudden, with no
    processes running).
How can i do to install a version of Dreamweaver on my new
    computer?
    Thanks for your answers.

I recommend you contact Adobe directly and use one of your
    one-on-one
    support incidents.

  • Installing dreamweaver problem

    Hi All
I am trying to install Dreamweaver, but the install stops almost immediately and I get the message:
    X  Adobe Dreamweaver CS3
             Component install failed
The only choice from here is to press the button marked 'Finish'  ?
    Any help please ?
    Thanks
    Paul

It's difficult in these situations to give concrete information, as there are many people having various issues with the installation of DW.  The following are  generally the tips we give should such problems arise.  See if any of them help.  If not, try uninstalling and re-installing and see how you go.  Other than that, the only option is to contact Adobe Support directly.
Is it an Acer computer? There's a known conflict with Acer security software. Get the patch from here: http://www.egistec.com/oem-acer001/program-update.html.
Even though the Software didn't install all the way through, a few people have reported that carrying out the following steps did indeed help:
Try step 4 in the following technote: - corrupt cache file:
    http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_19105.
If that doesn't work Try #12 -  deleting your personal configuration folder.
    On Vista, it's located at C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Dreamweaver CS4\en_US\Configuration.
It's a hidden folder, so you need to enable hidden folders in Windows Explorer.
Rename the folder to Configuration_old and launch Dreamweaver.  It should create a new Configuration folder with the factory defaults.

  • If I un-install Dreamweaver CC to fix a problem, will Adobe allow me to re-install it?

My website host recommends that I un-install Dreamweaver CC to flush the ftp client cache which has is preventing me from connecting with my host site. I keep getting the message, "an ftp error has occurred - cannot make connection to host". This message persists each time I try to connect to my ftp host. I'm shut out. Please help.

Can you connect with another FTP client like Filezilla? Can your DW connect with other sites than this one?
As long as you have a valid CC account you can install anything any number of times, I believe.

  • Problems installing adobe bridge with dreamweaver cs5

I have installed dreamweaver cs5 but bridge hasn't installed with it. Can anyone tell me how I install it? I can't find anything in the downloads area of the adobe site.

Check the installer from the download or disk you have purchased, according
to the Adobe specs Bridge should be included when having Dreamweaver as
single application. It should be automatically installed in the default
application folder when having used the default install procedure from the
    disk or download.
And I assume you already checked your applications folder to see if Bridge
is not already present, it is a separate application

  • Error Installing Dreamweaver CS4 on Windows 7: Installer Database is Corrupt

Error Message: The Installer Database is Corrupt. Please contact Adobe Customer Service.
I bought a new laptop and would like to install Dreamweaver CS4 on it. It is already running fine on my desktop, being installed back in 1/2011. Both PCs are Windows 7 but the new laptop is Windows 7 Professional.  I have downloaded the two install files ADBEDRWVCS4_LS1.7z and ADBEDRWVCS4_LS1.exe multiple ways and to multiple locatons on the laptop. I've run the .exe file multiple ways and extracted to several locations besides the default (c:\users\userid\Desktop\Adobe CS4). After the extract completes and it tries to run setup I get the same message "The Installer Database is corrupt. Please Contact Adobe Customer Service" (which I did and they just gave me another download link I had already tried).
I even copied the folder with the extracted files done on my desktop (where the install had succeeded). And still got the same message when I ran setup.exe on the laptop. I tried running it with a "run as administrator" command prompt, double-clicking in Windows Explorer, start > run and the same thing happens. At least it doesn't appear that it has actually installed anything yet.
I did notice that my new PC has a program called "7-zip 9.20" installed which I do not remember installing and its install date is prior to my purchase of the PC so I'm guessing it came with it (HP Pavilion 15t running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit). The Windows 7 Desktop does not have this program installed. It is available from C|net where it has a good rating. Perhaps setup.exe does further extracting and the 7-zip program is the culprit? This is a long shot.
I searched for others with this problem and found lots of issues installing Dw CS4, but none quite like this.

Awesome! That worked! Actually I searched three folders (Program Files, Program Files (x86) & Program Data) for caps.db and found:
    c:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premier Elements\caps.db (dated 9/2/2011)
    c:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Backup\caps.db
I ignored the first one since it might be needed by the Premier Elements 10 I installed yesterday and changed the name of the other one from caps.db to barb.fix.
I changed the install folder from c:\Program Files\Adobe to c:\Program Files (x86) just in case CS4 is a 32-bit application which I had done before when installing on my Windows7 Desktop. Now that the install has completed I see that I have caps.db files dated 5/5/2014 in
    c:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\caps\caps.db
c:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\backup\caps.db (barb.fix is still there but is only 26kb vs 3291 kb for the new caps.db)
Thank-you so much! Now wish me luck when I try to open it for the first time!

  • I can't install Dreamweaver 8 on Windows 7

Just like my title, I can't install Dreamweaver 8 on Windows 7 Release Candidate.
I can start the installation, but it just stuck at "installing" for very long time, and the installation just can not Continue...
I already try to running it in XP compatibility mode( Windows XP SP2), and the answer is the same: can't install.
    Can anyone advise, please?

I'm afraid you may be out of luck.  DW 8 is 3 versions old and was not tested to work on the new operating system.
There have been reports that some people are unable to run CS4 or are having problems with CS4 on Windows 7, so I doubt very much that DW8 would work.  Sorry.

  • Unable to install Dreamweaver CS 5.5 in Windows 7

When trying to install Dreamweaver CS 5.5 on my WIndows 7 computer, the system hangs indefinitely in the "Initialing Installation" screen.  According to the help forums, "If you're troubleshooting install errors for Creative Suite 5 or CS5.5 and the error occurred before you clicked Install, analyze the PDapp.log file."  So I reviewed it, and have attached it below.  I couldn't find the solution on any of the forums.

  • My hard drive crashed and I need to re-install Dreamweaver CS3

My hard drive crashed and I need to re-install Dreamweaver CS3. I have my license but I cannot find a copy of the software. I found some comments that Adobe is not making it available for download. I would like to continue to use this version.  Anyone have any ideas on where I can find a copy of Dreamweaver CS3?

if you follow all 7 steps you can dl a trial here:  http://prodesigntools.com/download-adobe-cs4-and-cs3-free-trials-here.html
    and activate with your serial.
if you have a problem dl'g, you didn't follow all 7 steps.  the most common error involves failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).

  • Problem with Dreamweaver CS4 workspace

    Hi
I have just installed the Adobe CS4 Design Premium software on my Macbook Pro (OS X) and I have a problem or two with the Dreamweaver CS4 workspac:
    1) When I have no file open, no matter which workspace I choose from the drop down list, I have a "see-through" area where files are generally displayed (see attached screen shot). This means I can see my desktop picture, or any other open files, in the background. This is very desturbing! If I click in that open space it also takes me out of Dreamweaver.
How can I get just a basic grey background in my workspace, instead of the silly see-though??
    2) I have no close, minimize or maximize icons at the top left as I have in Photoshop or Lightroom!?!!  Why is this and how can I get it there?
Thank you very much in advance for anyone who can help!
    Villiers Steyn

I have the same problem - just installed Dreamweaver yesterday on mac. Will be interested to see if anyone has a solution for this!
