Problems installing FW CS3 on Vista Business

Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone has come up with this problem.
Actually I have it with both, Fireworks and Dreamweaver. I'm
currently running my machine with Windows Vista Business, and when
trying to install, it does nothing.
I double click the installation file, it extracts the
content, then I see a progress bar that says "preparing", and after
that window dissappears I breafly see a Setup progress bar which
immediatly dissappears and THATS IT! gone! I tried running it as
Administrator, that won't make a difference.
P.S This is the trial I'm trying to install by the way,
however I've seen in other forums that users are finding the same
problem with the full program.
Any suggestions please?
Thanx.

CS3 installs/runs on Vista, and Win7 is pretty much the same codebase. You might try right-clicking the install program and then click Run as Administrator, but it's probably some other problem.

  • Problem on install Dreamweaver CS3 on Vista

I tried to install Dearmweaver CS3 on Microsoft window
    buisness 6.0.6001
but when the insaller startup is apear for a seconds then
    disapear
i tried to search in the forums but all problems there after
    this step

Here is another solution if the first one doesnt work.
"This solution posted by gorodek on the Adobe forums helped
    me out with the
problem where the installer just dies with no error message
    or warning.
    1. Start the Setup as usual and let it copy over a few files
    and than -
after a short popup - let him disappear. There shouldn't be
    any other errors
except the described above, otherwise you have to deal with
    these first (eg.
run the cleanup script, if the setup complains about an
    already running
    installation etc).
    2. Now open up your Windows Explorer and go to
    C:\Program Files\Common
    Files\Adobe\Installers\c14ac4070fd9614ffe63f4bb533db2c\resources\common\scripts
    3. Locate a file called "ContainerProxy.js" in the opened
    Window and open it
    with Notepad.
    4. Go to line 1102 or simply search for
    "jsonObj =
    _jsonToObject(window.external.SetSessionInitialized(initValue));"
    and replace this line with
    "jsonObj = _jsonToObject(SetSessionInitialized(initValue));"
    5. Save the file.
    6. Startup up the installation process by launching Setup.exe
    from this
    path:
    C:\Program Files\Common
    Files\Adobe\Installers\c14ac4070fd9614ffe63f4bb533db2c\Setup.exe
This time the installer shouldn't quit and hopefully you will
    be able to
    install.
The random hex-number differs on each system I found out. Now
    Setup runs.
Let's hope I don't run into any other problems.
Make sure the syntax is exact when you make the java script
    code
    modification.
    "jsonObj = _jsonToObject(SetSessionInitialized(initValue));"
Make sure there's a space before and after the "=".

  • Problem with Quicktime 7 and Vista Business

I am trying to run Windows vista business with Quicktime 7 Latest and can not run. I get this dialog box
    saying
Quicktime player requires windows 200 or later
please make sure compatibility mode is disable in the compativility tab of the properties for QuickTimePlayer.exe
I did try to change compatibility to set as Windows XP SP 2
but that did not make a diference I am still in trouble.
I did unistall the program and installed again but still the same problem. Please I need help! Thanks!

Thanks for the answer. It seems I left some other check boxes from the compativility menu on. So I realize I was running iTunes without problems so I uninstall Itunes and quicktime and did a full install of both and then it worked.
My problem was that I try to upgrade quicktime to quicktime pro and when I click on the quicktime player icon nothing will come up but if I drop a file on the icon it actually opens the file. Anyway the problem is solve. but is not intuitive to me that when you double click on the quicktime player icon nothing will happen.

  • Problems installing Dreamweaver CS3

Hi, I've been trying to install Dreamweaver CS3 on my Vista
computer, home premium and I've already spent numerous hours
    installing and uninstalling the product!
The problem is that the installer fails to install Adobe Cue
    Client CS3.
I've googled the problem and found that logs were generated
    on a gzip file on C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Installers\
    as i've read here:
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb401401&sliceId=1
All anti-virus (NOD32) and firewalls (COMODO) are disabled.
Like the page suggests I've uninstalled all products from
Adobe, except Acrobat 8 and and run the CS3cleaner scripts provided
by you, in level 2, to clean all files from my computer, as a page
    from adobe recommends too.
I've alse run tried to run the installer as administrator,
    with the same results.
I provide the install log from Adobe Dreamweaver on link
    http://www.sendspace.com/file/s27cuj,
from the last PayloadInstaller that failed to install.
On event manager the error is logged like this:
    quote:
Product: Adobe Version Cue CS3 Client -- Error 1920.Service
    ##Id_String1.6844F930_1628_4223_B5CC_5BB94B879762## (Bonjour
Service) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient
    privileges to start system services.
How can I solve this problem??

I would recommend calling as well. I ran into a similar
problem on the Mac side and they have information to provide you
beyond the KB articles. Although I have just decided to do without
it since I really did not utilize its functionality so if you feel
the same I would recommend not using the program as well.

  • Installing R12 on Windows Vista BUSINESS

Its proven that R12 cannot be installed on Vista Home or Vista Basic.
Well, my question is very specific - Has anyone successfully installed EBS R12 on Windows Vista BUSINESS?
If anyone has tried, please share the steps or else issues/error message shown.

Please note that Windows Vista is not certified as an Application/Database tier. RapidWiz will not be able to recognize the OS version. Even if you try to make RapidWiz understand that you are trying to install on some other Windows OS version (i.e. like Windows XP), RapidWiz will not complete successfully.

  • Problems installing DW CS3 on second computer... help?

The below sequence of events will be all needed to understand the problem.
I initially installed Golive 5.0 on laptop 1 (This software is still on laptop 1).  I upgraded to Golive CS. (This software is also still on laptop 1).  I then upgraded to DW CS3.  This required the DW CS3 serial number AND the GoLive CS serial number in order to activate DW CS3.
I later installed DW CS3 on laptop 2, which again required the DW CS3 serial number and the GoLive CS serial number to activate DW CS 3.
In the meantime I trashed the original GoLive CS disc with serial number, along with the original Golive 5.0 disc and serial number, thinking these would not ever be needed again.
I am now putting a new laptop into service (laptop 3).  I wanted to install DW CS3 on laptop 3, so I uninstalled DW CS3 from laptop 1, as I am retiring it from service.
But the DW CS3 install on laptop 3 is now requiring my old GoLive CS serial number, which I trashed along with the disc months ago.  I cannot complete the install of DW CS3 on laptop 3, I have uninstalled DW CS3 from laptop 1, and cannot reinstall it in order to deactivate it, as I did not know this was required. (De-activate, then uninstall?)
According to everything I've read, I should have a valid install left for DW CS3 onto computer #3, right?  Should I not hope for some understanding and help from Adobe with this?

    Thanks, Ken,
I had two separate "chats" with Adobe support people.  I cannot find any record of these now, although they both stated that they would escalate this problem and that I would receive email. Nothing received after over ten days.  I also submitted a question directly to Adobe regarding my inability to retrieve my serial number.  I even attached a screen shot of the existing "About" pop-up I get on the computer when clicking on the "About" under GoLive CS.
Further insight, I am using Mac OS X 10.4 on laptop 1 and Mac OS X 10.6.8 on 2 and 3.
I expected some responses from Adobe but am so far without any.  Maybe I've been submitting my requests for some assistance to the wrong places... ?  Thanks for any suggestions.

  • Problem Installing Photoshop CS3

Just loaded down Photoshop Adobe CS3 once I tried to run the setup I got the message that the installlation had failed and to contact support, no further comments given Can anybody help please

Wolfgang I would recommend reviewing the installation log files to determine the cause of the failure.  You can find details on how to locate and interpret the installation log files at Troubleshoot installation with install logs | CS3, CS4.  You are welcome to post any specific error you discover to this discussion.

  • Problems installing PageMaker 7 in Vista

I'm trying to install PageMaker 7 in Vista Home Premium, and the Postscript Driver and ODBC driver won't install as they crash in the middle of installing. The main Pagemaker 7 program installed (and has been updated) as well as Acrobat Distiller and ATM Lite. Any suggestions as to how important they are and what is needed to install them. A second question is that what do you do with the second install disc, it's never asked for. Dave138

Yes, it can be quite costly to keep up...!!!
In lieu of upgrading to Win 7 Ultimate or Professional in order to run Windows Virtual PC with XP mode (assuming your computer BIOS is set correctly and will permit virtualization), one can run XP (and most previous Win OS's) in virtual mode using Sun's free VirtualBox. I now use it on Vista to run PM7 when PM7 (on Vista) refuses to open legacy files created on Mac PM7 or exhibits other anomalies when running on Vista. I can use that same VirtualBox "image" or virtual machine on multiple computers and OS's (with care). I also own InDesign 2 (won't run on Vista or Snow Leopard) and InDesign CS4 (compatible with SL and Win 7) for both Mac and Windows platform. The agenda here (for me) has been to convert ALL previous files created in PageMaker (Mac versions 2-7) and InDesign 2 (Mac) to the latest Adobe program (InDesign CS4) and look to the FUTURE. That future means moving ahead into the latest two major OSs released this November as well: Mac Snow Leopard (SL) and Win 7. Regrettably, the future of PostScript is in question for Mac users also, which is why I am focusing on Windows over Mac for the future. Adding then to the challenge of updating all files to InDesign CS4 is the task of updating those files with OpenType replacement fonts (from PostScript conversions made in-house). Quite a project it is since these files date from 1987. When all is said and done, I will have access to twenty-two years of files current with the latest InDesign app and the latest OS. From there forward, the past is the past and the future is the future (pardon the trite philosophy).
PageMaker has long been abandoned on the Mac, and now it arguably is on Windows. Adobe abandoned PostScript for OpenType some years back. This is the FUTURE that we are seeing, and we are being forced to adapt to it by both Snow Leopard and Win 7 and their successors. OS9 or Win98 or XP aren't coming back. That's just the way it is. For now, you can stay with XP using a virtualization application like Sun's VirtualBox (in Vista or Win 7) or you can move forward and upgrade to InDesign CS4. In the end, you will move forward. Why not do it now?

  • Cannot install Dreamweaver CS3 on Vista

I'm running a desktop PC with Windows Vista Premium. I had
Dreamweaver 8 installed and want to upgrade to Dreamweaver CS3. So
I uninstalled Dreamweaver 8 and ran the setup for CS3. After the
setup extracted all he necessary setup files I saw a message saying
"initializing setup" and then...nothing. Setup just quit. I tried
several times. I've never installed any of the CS3 beta
versions...but I ran the CS3 cleanup anyway. No luck. Searched the
registry for any extra Dreamweaver entries. Nothing. The only Adobe
software I have installed is Acrobat 8 Pro and Photoshop CS2. Just
can't get Dreamweaver CS3 to install. Any ideas?

    See if this helps:

Search for the post by gorodek about modifying the

It seems to have solved the problem for several Photoshop
    users, and it's
solved the problem for some DW users as well.
