Problems installing icloud

I tried to download icloud -- i followed the instructions on screen to set it up, but for some reason, the box that lets you pick your password never appeared.  When I tried to login in with my apple ID, I got an error that said, you aren't using an icloud id.  So i uninstalled it and tried it again, still no setup box.   I'm using this on Windows 8.1.  Is this a compatiblity issue?   The cloud functions seem to all be working ... I just can't login and make any changes to preferences.

You are getting this message because you are attempting to create an iCloud account on a PC.  You can only create iCloud account on an iOS device (iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch) running iOS 5 or higher, or on a Mac running OS X Lion (10.7.5) or higher.  After creating your account on one of these devices you will then be able to sign into the account on your PC.

I'm guessing that you have checked and complied with the system requirements?
    System Requirements
    Microsoft Windows 7 or 8
Microsoft Outlook 2007 or later or an up-to-date browser (for Mail, Contacts, Calendars)
Internet Explorer 9 or later, Firefox 22 or later, or Google Chrome 28 or later (for Bookmarks)
    Broadband Internet access
Note: If you are upgrading from iCloud Control Panel 1.1 or earlier, you will need to sign out of iCloud Control Panel and uninstall it before downloading iCloud Control Panel 3.1

  • Problem installing Icloud on Ipad 3

I have successfully installed icloud on my Iphone but not Ipad. Under
settings/icloud/account/mail: it lists my name, but the e-mail is under an acount I no longer have. There is no command to change this setting. I have tried turning off the mail tab, rebooting the ipad, then turning the tab back on but still I get the same.
Interestingly on my iphone 5 I am able to access icloud and it does not list my old e-mail address but the one I currently use. I hope I described my situation clearly enough.

  • Having problems installing iCloud on my PC.  Am I missing something?  iCloud WILL install on a non-Mac, right?

Keep getting the message:  Setup can't continue because Outlook isn't configured to have a default profile.Check your Outlook settings and Try Again.
iCloud is partially installed on my PC - Contact information is fully integrated with my iPhone - great!
BUT: I can't get either my Calendar or PhotoStream to coordinate.  These are the very files I WANT to be integrated.
    HELP!!!?

tried all of the above, and still having problems.
Re: Contacts -   Although my contacts DID initially synch, NEW contacts that I've added on my iPhone don't show up on the PC.
Re: Calendar -   I started fiddling with the Calendar, and have discovered that entries I make on my PC DO transfer immediately onto my iPhone, BUT new entries on my iPhone do NOT synch onto the PC... Any idea what gives?  Communication seems to be one way only.  Not good.
When I go to the iCloud Pref Pane, and check Calendar to synch, I get a box up:  "Setup can't continue.  Outlook isn't configured to have a default profile.  Check Outlook settings and try again."  Any suggestions on how to do this?  I've wandered all over my PC and can't figure it out.
Re: PhotoStream - for an unknown reason, NEW photos taken on the iPhone are now showing up in the PhotoStream PC file.  Any way to transfer OLD photos?
Does iCloud have a telephone access Help line?
    thanks.

  • Error installing icloud 4.0 for PC

I'm attempting to install the icloud windows PC 4.0.3.56.  Everything runs great right up to the end, when I get this message.  Any ideas?

I am having a major problem installing icloud 4.0 on my windows 7 machine. I get the following error:
"Could not open key: UNKNOWN\Components\CAF968BD96E20E11ABD610A0FD7D0258\14D02E18772C625439D42F83A09 FB187. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel"
I was able to trace this in the registry and of course I don't have permissions to access the key. But I was able to find that it points to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Internet Services\AOSkit.dll
So interesting I simple cut and pasted the AOSKIT.dll to the desktop and reran the icloud 4.0 installation again and it went a little farther I saw it create a new AOSKit.dll file but the date is wrong it say 7/31/2012. Anyway the installation still failed giving me the same error.

Ever since installing iCloud and Lion my computer is slow or freezes.  The color wheel comes on and My work stops.  I have only a small window of time where my computers will function normally during the day. I know many others that have the same problem. I'll get 20-30 minutes of work done and then a sync or something comes on, the color wheel of death shows up, and my productivity is shot.  I have to shut the computer down the hard way!  when it comes back up, it is still either frozen or slow.  I've checked in at the genius bar and all they say is that there have been some problems that Apple is trying to fix.  It effects Mail, Contacts, Safari, Calendar....yeah, pretty much everything.  My iPhone and iPad are not effected as much so I end up doing what I can with them.  I've seen the blogs out there and understand that many have the same problem.  I have been waiting to read about a fix but I have found nothing!  Any ideas?

Not enough free space on the startup disk can slow the system down.
Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. Make sure there's a minimum of 15% free disk space.
For startup issues...  open System Preferences > Users & Groups - Login Items. Delete any apps listed there then restart your mac.
And disable the Lion "resume" feature.
    Open System Preferences > General
Deselect:   Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps
And Spotlight may be indexing... you can turn that off > Turning Off Spotlight | Mac Tricks And Tips

  • HT4910 hello i have installed icloud on my mac, ipad and iphone. but when i create a document on my mac it does not show up on Pages file in my Ipad/ How do i get it to go from one to the other? and how do i back up to icloud from my Mac

    Hello
I have uploaded and installed ICLOUD to all three of my devices MAC, i pad nd Iphone.
From Ipad to Iphone i am able to retrieve PAGES documents as i write them. BUT now that i am back home i see that none of the new documents i am working on which are stored on my desktop are showing up in my PAGES file on my Ipad or Phone.
How do i save to icloud from mac, how come i can't retrieve docs from IPAD to MAC either?
should i back up my mac ICLOUD FIRST? and if so, Where do i back it up from?
going mad as i edit on one during the day and the other in the evening , and would like them to sync automatically
    please can you help
    thanks
    marellaopp

SADLY  not as i downloaded an upgrad to my original PAGES/
i have in the meantim had to open www.icloud. then from there import the file that i am working on and then check on ipad if it uploaded/ yes it did.
but what a waste of time as it doesn not save any changes done automatically back in the cloud....
i am now downloading the new LION and hope that it will fix the problem
i cant find any other way. I was lead to believe that you wrote, it saved automatically, on to the cloud, you then opened anohter device in anotother country even, and the new file was there, waiting, in its latest version.......
and the same magic was supposed to happen in reverse.
    It doesn't/
if i have to open a browser, go to www.icloud....why on earth did they not just leave us an icon to drop it in in that case?
I hope the new lion will help resolve the isssue/
any other ideas> keep em coming...thank you so much.

  • I am trying to install iCloud Update on My HP Pavilion Windows 8.1and keep getting "error 2343 icloud"

I have an HP Pavilion 500-214 Desktop with an AMD Elite Quad-core AB-6500 Accelerated Processor, 8GB DDR3 System Memory, and a 2TB Hard Drive.  My Operating System is Windows 8.1 64 bit.  I have been trying to install Apple iCloud 4.0 and keep getting this message:
icloud For Windows Installer Error: This installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package.  Error Code 2343 ~ Try downloading only and install manually.
Neither option have worked.  I need to know whatto do in order to fix this problem.  I have not used "troubleshooting" but will if suggested; went straight to Google Search for error 2343 - icloud

I could never get icloud to download except for it would go into a downloaded folder which I kept getting error 2343 every time I tried to install, so I deleted that folder and then I had to uninstall iTunes first  and then I was able to install icloud and then after that reinstalled iTunes!  It worked! I have been trying for 2 months now and finally did it!  I did not lose anything that was backed up to iTunes!  I also have new laptop with windows 8.1

I have another problem log in the SQL PLUS. When I open the SQL PLUS window, it asked for Username and after I typed "sys" or "system" and hit Enter; it was prompted for password, however, it did not let me type in any word; and after I hit Enter again, the error message " ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error" appeared
Any hints would be apprecieted, thanks.
SamIt wasn't preventing you from typing a password, it just wasn't echoing your keystrokes back to the screen. This is a security security feature common to most software, not just oracle. Either when asking for a password, either echo back a 'masking' character like '*' or don't echo anything. It's so common, I'm surprised you seem to have never seen it before.
So after entering your password ... the 12560 probably comes from
1- the fact you didn't have the environment variable ORACLE_SID set, so sqlplus didn' know the name of the instance/process you wanted to connect to, or
2 - the windows service for the database was not started.
Those two possibilities account for 99.99999 pct of ora-12560 on Windows installations.

It's good to know.  The Apple instructions for loading iCloud on a PC just seem to have either overlooked or hidden this limit.  The larger problem is that it partially works:  partially and erratically.  So clean-up is great fun.

  • Install iCloud on Windows 7 64 bit

Can't install iCloud on Windows 7 64 bit system due to iCloud control panel installer only having 32 bit installer for Bonjour

Microsoft have come up with a solution
    It's called Microsoft Fixit
    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
It allowed me to uninstall Bonjour with the standard Control Panel Uninstall could not (I got the same error message as the OP; I also got the same error message when trying to upgrade iTunes to 10.5.3)
With Bonjour uninstalled using Fixit, I upgraded iTunes successfully, then installed the iCloud Control Panel.
If you are trying to install new Apple software on your Windows 7 64 bit PC and are getting error messages that suggest a problem with Bonjour - especially ones that imply the installer needs to be 64 and not 32 bit, then you will not get anywhere without installing Bonjour first, either using Control Panel or failing that in this way.
Trying Administrator privileges will not work.

  • Unable to install ICloud 4.0 on Win 8.1 PC. Get Windows Installer error message. But Windows installer works fine. Any solutions?

I cannot install ICloud 4.0 on my Win8.1 PC because I get a recurring message that the Windows Installer has failed. The Windos installer works fine on other applications. So I suspect it is in the ICloud software. I have uninstalled Icloud 3.2 and deleted the apple internet services files but still no luck. Any ideas?

The error message says "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor"
I am trying to update iCloud to 4.0 by installinh iCloud64.msi on Windows 8.1.
