Problems installing Netweaver Developer Workplace 2004

Dear Netweaver experts,
I have severe problems installing Netweaver Developer Workplace 2004 on windows XP.
I used sapinst for installing the Java sytem (Menue Java System->Oracle->Custom Installation).
After running through 34 of the 35 phases during which the sapinst tries to start the freshly installed J2EE engine I got the error :
CJSlibModule::writeError_impl() CJS-20057 Starting J2EE Engine J00 of SAP system J2E failed: after 84 s the state of the engine changed from "Starting" to "Stopped".
and changed my memory setting using the configtool.
Afterwards I tried to start the server in my MMC and it seemed to be running.
INFO
Execution of the command "D:\usr\sap\J2E\JC00\exe/startsap.exe 'name=J2E' 'nr=00' 'SAPDIAHOST=K-0017553'" finished with return code 0. Output: STARTSAP continues...
But when I had a closer look at the Process table at the MMC I saw that the server0 wasn't running
(Server 0 stopped Exit Code -2).
Now I don't know how to proceed.
Does someone of you know how I could get my J2EE server running ?
Below you find  my present settings :

    Hi,
SAPCAR is a executable. you can find it in \usr\sap\<SID>SYS\exe\run.
You can execute the "sapcar -xvf <filename>.car"
    Note:
Using JSPM we can deploy the sar file.
For JSPM , no need to uncar the file. It will directly uncar and deploy it.
Try with JSPM to deploy the SAR file.

    Bala.

  • SAP NetWeaver Developer Workplace & SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio

    Hi All
    1. What is the difference between SAP NetWeaver Developer Workplace  & SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio. Which area  JDI (Java Developer Infrastructure) fall in.
    2. Is  SAP NetWeaver Developer Workplace & SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio
are tool for Enterprise Portal development/customizing Only  or can you use also use to customize  XI/BW/SRM etc..applications.
    3. Is SAP NetWeaver Developer Workplace  & SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio are replacement of old ABAP programming
    Thanks everyone.

    Julio,
To answer your third question, No, NetWeaver Developer Studio (NDS) isn't to replace ABAP or ABAP workbench. NDS helps in creating Java based applications to compliment with the ABAP programs and enable them accessible via the Enterprise Portal. ABAP would stay to be the primary development language for SAP systems. The newest version of NetWeaver software also come with an option of ABAP stack where in you can develop web based applications (accessible via the portal) using ABAP

    Kiran

  • NDS vs. Netweaver Developer Workplace

    Hi Netweaver Gurus,
could you tell me what is the different between Netweaver Developer Studio and Netweaver Developer Workplace?
    thanks for the response.
    regards,
    Yunaidy

    Hi Yunaidy,
The NWDS is the Java IDE solely, based on Eclipse. The DW is the combination of a local WAS Java plus an NWDS. See http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/de/b3/304f4506e4684782f5d9c39451c3e9/frameset.htm

NWDI provides an infrastructure to develop Java applications on netweaver platform and is responsible for versioning, building and lifecycle management of these applications developed.
It has mainly three components :
