Problems installing Premiere CS6 - OpenGL error

Hello,
I'm having trouble setting up Premiere CS6 and would really appreaciate any help or advice!
I have just built a workstation to run CS6, however I have run into problems whereby CS6 will crash within the first few minutes of use. I'm not entirely sure what triggers it but just simple use like scrubbing or importing media will cause the crash. The error message I get is
'The NVIDIA Open GL driver detected a problem with the display driver and is unable to continue. ERROR CODE 3'
I have installed the latest updates for windows, CS6 and the graphics card but the problem still continues.
The video card is a Ge-Force GTX 580

I was having the exact same issue (Vista, but different NVIDIA graphics card, and CS5), and I was able to fix it by adding a registry value.
Here the solution that worked for me:
1) open your vista registry editor (Start -> Run -> type "REGEDIT" w/o quotes)
2) go to the key : HKey_Local_Machine\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers\
3) right click on the "GraphicsDrivers" key
4) Add DWORD "TdrDelay" w/o quotes
5) Set value of TdrDelay to 8
Restart Computer
Here's a link to the other forum where the solution was posted. Turnes out it has nothing to do with the drivers at all. It's a Windows thing. Another guy found that the problem was the TDR time limit (a value in one of the registry for the graphics card), which either does not exist (my case), or is not set high enough to render Premiere graphics properly.

    I'm having trouble with my Premiere CS6 (family) install. I've installed twice but each time I do I still can't find the program in my start menu. Whenever I search for it with windows' program "run" search it brings me to the install program, not the program itself. I've tried restarting with no results. Looking at my add/remove programs menu it should be there but I have no way to access it. I'm working on a trial so I'd like to use this ASAP. If I can't get it fixed my trial will be wasted.

    I am surprised you are getting a successfully installed installation message.  Windows XP and 32-bit operating system will not allow Premiere Pro to function.  Please see http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/system-requirements-premiere-pro.html for the minimum requirements to utilize Premiere Pro.

    Hello to whoever is reading this - I have a problem installing Photoshop CS6 Extended (as you can guess from the title) due to the fact that I download a pre release version of it (not the beta) And I've looked everywhere on my laptop and I still can't install the trial even though I've deleted everything relevant to the pre release version, it can't be my normal version of Photoshop CS5 can it? It'sonly occured to the Photoshop CS6 Extended trial, all the other Creative Suite trials from Adobe Download Assisstant work.

    Check the start page of this forum or the PS forum. There used to be special threads listed in teh yellow info boxes with info on how to resolve these issues.

    I disabled Photoshop CS6 (purchased on CD with serial number) from my old computer to reinstall it on my new pc.
    After a problem with this new pc, I uninstalled Photoshop CS6 (Programs> Uninstall a program) ... without désactivate.
    When I want to re-install Photoshop on this new PC, the following message appears "We are unable to validate this serial number for Adobe Photoshop CS6. Contact Customer Service. "
    How can to reinstall Photoshop on the new PC.

  • Problems installing Illustrator CS6 on OSX 10.8

    Every time I try to install Illustrator CS6 on my Early 2009 17" MacBook Pro, the installation gets to around 85% or so and then jumps straight to 99% and then fails. I've noticed that the disk image is diappearing form my desktop and then failing. Photoshop, InDesign, etc. are all installing without problems. This is the error message I'm getting:

    Premier Pro cs6 -Win7 -Dell xps8300- nividia 540 video card 3gig video memory. Purchased Subscription. Download complete. When program launches get error message :" Adobe Premier Pro could not find any capable video play modules. Please update your video display drivers and start again. Have updated video card driver, no update available for 3yr old samsung display. Computer had no problem running Premiere CS5. Please Help!

  • Re-installing Premiere CS6

    Hello. I ran into problems inporting XDCAM footage into my computer and was advised to uninstall, run the Cloud Cleaner and re-install. I uninstalled, ran the Cleaner and am now trying to re-install but Premiere CS6 does not appear anywhere in my cloud to install. It only gives the Cloud version of Premier CC. I don't want to re-buy Premiere Pro, but just redownload the one that I already had. Any Ideas????

    Thanks, that worked. Now, It was already installed on my computer and thus I don't have a serial number for it...When installing it wants me to input the serial number.
    Awkward.
    I am sure someone has asked this already, but what does one do if one does not have the serial number as it was already installed on the computer when I received it, and I only uninstalled in yesterday to re-install it to fix a bug.

    I have a license to Creative Cloud but I have problems installing and running Photoshop CS6. When I launch the program it says I can test Photoshop Extended for 30 days but then I need to buy a license. Additional information: 1) I did have Photoshop CS6 beta installed before. Now it is uninstalled (in the correct way from the Control Panel) but still same problem 2) All other Creative Cloud programs install and launch without problems. How do I solve this?

    I tried to follow the advice. I removed all Creative Cloud programs. I
    then cleaned twice using the cleaning options 3: Creative Cloud and
    then 7: CS6. Then re-installed Adobe Application Manager and then
    re-installed Photoshop CS6. Still same problem.
    I have NOT yet tried to un-installed my old CS 5.5 Design Standard
    package.I have also not un-installed my Lightroom 4. Is it necessary
    also to remove those programs?

  • Problem installing photoshop cs6 from download.

    I uninstalled my photoshop cs6  from my last machine a few months ago. I decided to install photoshop cs6 today from Adobe's download center(I did not have the original install). I went thru the install process and keyed my serial in, but it would not install CS6. It would only give me the option of CS6 EXTENDED.  Is Photoshop CS6 regular version part of the download now? Shouldnt I be able to "downgrade" extended to regular? Is there another download from adobe? I do not want to purchase a Cloud membership, as I am fine with my CS6.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    I do not understand how the image you are showing relates to your problem of having a better version of the software than what you say you purchased.  You will have to contact Adobe Support to see if they can work out whatever the problem is, but I don't think they will consider it a problem if you are getting more than what you paid for.
    I do not understand why you mention Photshop Elements... CS6 could not have been purchased as an upgrade to Photoshop Elements... it was never in the upgrade path as far as I know.

  • Problem installing Premiere Elements 11

    Hello,
    I have a new computer.  I can install photoshop 11 and it works fine.  When I try to install premiere elements, it starts loading the installer and quickly stops, giving me only a window with status of the windows installer (same screen you see if you run msiexec).    This is win7 64 bit.  I have used this install disc on one other win 7 machine and installed both photoshop/elements fine, so there is nothing wrong with the disc.  I get the same problem if I try to download a trial version of elements.   I have directx 11, however as another test I started install on another machine with directx11 and it was working.   So... I'm not sure what is preventing the install.  Any insight would be appreciated.  Thanks  

    Thanks for the suggestion but I'm still getting the same message.  It start to load windows installer then a window pops us with text starting with
    Windows ® Installer. V 5.0.7601.17514
    msiexec /Option <Required Parameter> [Optional Parameter] ........  and other test similar to display from msiexec.
    I get this message whether I install from disc or a downloaded trial version.
    However only certain programs are a problem.  I was able to install Photoshop and quite a few other applications.   The difference between Photoshop and Premiere Elements could be a clue.

    Aloha! Seems Photoshop CS6 has errors for camera profile installer 6.3 and 7.0.  Error 145: Directory not empty.
    Not sure how that can be an issue with a new install???

    not cut and paste that info from the Adobe Photoshop CS6 error window to
    the Adobe forum window. I figured maybe someone might eventually email me
    so I cut and pasted the error window data to my gmail. That was possible
    but somehow it is not possible on Adobe for the forum.
    Here is "all" the info I have at my disposal that was provided by Adobe at
    the time the Photoshop CS6 install was completed.

    Hello,
    Premiere CS6 is showing as downloaded in my creative cloud apps, but is not on my computer. I can't uninstall it (because its not there) and reinstall and I can't download it again until I've uninstall it (but there's nothing to uninstall). I'm not sure how this has happened but can anyone help, I use CS6 for work.

  • Problem installing ipod mini hardware error msg

    Installed software ok but when I connect ipod mini to USB 2.0 I get "Found new hardware wizard. There was a problem installing this hardware: apple ipod usb device. An error occurred during the installation of the device. One of the filter drivers installed for this device is invalid." If I click finish I get a pop up at bottom saying" A problem occurred during installation. Your new hardware might not work properly." Click out of that and my ipod and itunes works ok. How do I correct this nusance? Tried reloading 3 times now, same results. Brand new to ipod.

    hey, i finally figured out how to do it! i had the same frustrating problem as you until just a moment ago : ) This is what you need to do:
    1) Reset your iPod Mini by holding down on the Menu and the Select button until the Apple appears.
    2) Plug it into your computer, windows and mac should be the same for that
    3) Go into the iPod Updater and update the software : ) should work... if you need anything else, just ask or go to the following:
