Problems logging in to wifi/Fon hotspots

Hi guys,
Seen a few people who have this problem but none of the posts state the solution.
The problem I'm having is that I cannot log into any BT Fon/wifi hotspots when I'm out and about. I keep getting a message that my username/password is incorrect.
I've checked that I'm opted in
The email is my primary one
The email address/password is correct as I can log in and check my emails just fine.
Any help would be brilliant.
Regards

DD is right, but you also need to make sure that you're using a btinternet.com email address; although BT Yahoo! will accept other domains (eg btopenworld.com), BT WiFi won't. Actually, you can just use the user name (the bit before the @) for BT WiFi.

  • Problems logging onto the Cloud wifi

I have the Cloud wifi set up on my iphone and ipad and they've worked fine for a year or so. In the last couple of months I haven't been able to access the internet through it though. It loads up the signing in page and after entering my username and password it takes me to the welcome page showing my devices as normal. However, whenever I try and navigate away from that it just takes me back to the signing in page. Any help?

My problems logging onto the Sky Cloud wifi still remain. I have tried amending my user name and deleting and reinstalling the app, all to no avail. To try to clarify what happens once more: 1) I am in a Wi-Fi Hotspot (yesterday, for example I was in Pret-a-Manger in Brighton). 2) My iPhone 4S picks up the wi-fi availability 3) I use the iPhone Safari web-browser to log onto Google (it also works if I use Yahoo) 4) I am re-directed to the relevant Cloud log-on options. So far so good. 5) I select the Cloud "Get on Line" option and am eventually redirected to the Sky Cloud Wi-Fi page, which confirms I am logged on, confirms my name and confirms my iPhone device. Again, all good so far. 6). Now the problems start. I go back into Google (or any other website) and am then redirected back to the Cloud log-on options again (see point 4 above). 7) I select CLoud "Get on Line" option and am redirected to the Sky Cloud Wi-Fi page again which still confirms I am logged on (see point 5 above). 8) This loop then continues forever until I give up. In short, I am obviously logged on but for some reason cannot get beyond that stage. On some occasions I am given the option to download the Sky Wifi app, which is a bit pointless because (a) I already have this on my iPhone, and (b) since I am not properly connected anyway, I cannot connect to the iTunes Store in any case (an error message tells me this)!! I have tried logging on both through the method as describeed above, and also by skipping Point 3 and instead clicking directly onto the Sky Wifi app, but all that does is take me to Point 4 and then the problems continue. Please help. I never had this issue before Sky took over the Cloud and I am becoming increasing frustrated. Thank You.

  • I can not get my ipod 4 gen to log into Free Wifi hotspots. It shows that it is connected but I have to internet activity. I was at several hotspot locations last night and could not get on any, but other people were. HELP.

I can not get my Ipod 4 Gen to log into free WIFI hot spots. It shows that I am connected but I have no internet activity. I was in several hot spots last night and could not log in, other people were, but I could not. HELP!

    - Did the other users who successfully connected have iDevices?
    - Frequently you have to open Safari/a browser and agree to the terms and conditions of the wifi spot before yo can get to the internet.  Some wifi spots use Flash or Java to log on which the iPod (and other iDevices) do not support)
    - Have you tried resetting network settings: Settings:General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - Does you Ipod successfully connect at home?.

  • How Exactly Are You 'Meant' To Log Onto BT Wifi?

Can someone tell me what exactly are you meant to use to log in to a hotspot ?  Is it the BT ID/Password you access your online customer account with?  Is it the @btinternet.com with the same or different password?  Is it something else?
We got BT Infinity this past Monday (that bit works fine).
We can see/access the local hotspots (BT Wifi/FON), but they fail to recognise our logins details as valid.
When I use our valid BT ID/Password on the "Check the status of your BT Wi-fi account" page, it reports "Enter valid Username". If I switch it for the @btinternet.com address we were given, it says "Authentication failed. Invalid username or password" .
The "Register for BT Wi-fi", section says "Enter valid Username" or "Resubmission Error!" respectively.
To make matters even more confusing, when our broadband was originally switched over to BT from Plusnet (but the engineer had not arrived yet) I phoned up to ask how to access a hotspot, and a lady in one of the Indian call centres gave me a string of numbers to use as a username/password (eg 10563482 cgnywtbe).  Suffice it to say this made no sense, nor did it work.
So exactly what is the correct process?

  • Can apple TV link up to BT WIFI/FON/Openzone?

Wondered if anyone can clear up this wee query.
When using my mac and am connected to BT WIFI-FON I am able to open Safari, be taken to the bt homepage and can sign into my BT account from there.
When using apple TV, it can pick up the BT signal and i can connect to it but I can find no way of browsing the homepage to login to my BT account or have any other option.
So the apple TV ends up being connected to BT only to the extent of  username/password level.
    Any thoughts?
    Any help apprecitated,
    Thanks

    Welcome to the Apple community.
Unfortunately if you need to use a web page to log on to the Wi-Fi network then you will be unable to use the Apple TV. The Apple TV does not have a web browser.

  • Nokia E5 - Automatic Connection to BT Wifi / Fon /...

    I have a Nokia E5.
I often connect to the internet on it using BT Wifi / Fon / Openzone connections. These require me to enter login and password details into a webpage and submit every time.
Is there a way I can configure a connection to automatically log me in when in a connection zone?
// Have tried Menu > Control Panel > Settings > Connection > Destinations and adding a new access point then configuring manually EAP plug-in settings. I think this should work if I knew what the right settings were and had / knew which was the appropriate authority certificate //
Has anyone managed to get this working with bt wifi?

Good question. Difficult to answer. I tried hard and could not find any EAP support in the UK, one-and-a-half years ago.
Ask one of your acquaintances with an Android device to install the free Wifi Analyzer. Within that tool, please, go to Settings (wrench icon) » Show full securities and tick that. Then go back and have a look at your Wi-Fis. If its states [WPA2-EAP-CCMP][ESS], you have found a base station (ESS) which does EAP in WPA2 with AES/CCMP encryption.
Unfortunately this way, you cannot determine which outer EAP tunnel type and which inner EAP tunnel type is/are used. Therefore, have a look at the documentation of the provider of that base station. There are rumors FON does EAP-SIM, however, I have not found a single spot, yet.
Beside EAP, sometimes it is possible to dissamble the HTML form and create a hyperlink (URL) which contains the paramaters already. If you use that URL as default page, you are logged in automatically. Again, I never tried to made up such a URL myself and did not find one either.
Nevertheless for FON, they provided the FON WiFi Connection Manager for Nokia Phones. However, I never used it. Devicescape’s Easy Wi-Fi in version 3?

  • Tracing people logging on at BT FON and BT Openzon...

    Hello,
Please can you tell me if it is possible for BT to trace where someone is logging on using BT FON or BT Openzone.  My reason being I am being stalked and the emails come from IP addresses all over the place from btcentralplus.com.  I think I know who the stalker is and he has a BT phoneline and internet account so would have log in details.  If the police were to contact you could you tell them where he has logged on and whether this matches the IP addresses from the emails.
    Thanks

  • WiFi and hotspot

my wifi will not connect to to web pages and the message is website not available my hotspot will not open and gives me the message cannot connect to AM

Hello stollbek! Using Wifi is a great way to add additional value to your data plan! Have you tried changing the channel your router uses? I've seen customers have problems connecting to my wifi and it turned out that a house phone was using the same frequency as the router and was interfering. After changing the channel they had no more problems. Do you have a landline device that is connected to your cable or DSL service?
In regards to your Hotspot, try taking out the battery for 20-30 seconds. This may reset your device and allow you to use the Hotspot feature. Let me know if this helps!

  • Active Directory accounts problem logging in to Mavericks

We have twenty iMacs in a lab and five in an Internet café, all wired to a multiple subnet network. OS X Mavericks is bound to Active Directory.  Frequently OS X Mavericks behaves as if the network user account password is entered incorrectly until the iMac is restarted.  This did not happen when we had Mountain Lion.  We never have problems logging in to Windows computers bound to Active Directory.
