Problems multiple SMTP servers with a single name at my work

At my University we have our outgoing mail sent to smtp.su.se
The IT department has three separate servers that handle the outgoing mail. If one server goes down a PC user get his mail out using one of the two other good servers. In the last month us Mac users have a serious problem, where our computers "remember" the which of the three servers we last used even though they all have the same name smtp.su.se. I had the #2 server go down and could not send mails out. The IT department is blaming a fault in the Mac system software. The IT department told me to pick one of the servers that was still up and running smtp3.su.se and my mails did send. But now I depend on just that one server. Is my IT department correct in saying that my Mac system 10.5 is remembering in the background which specific machine was last used and bypassing the shared server function. My guess is that the IT department has something messed up but it is beyond my abilities to tell. Help please....

If I read that correct, you only get the error when you run the executables and not the VIs. Can you take a look at your processor level while one .exe is running. I am wondering if that is the source of the problem.

Hello Sir,
I am working on an Enterprise Java Bean Application running on J2EE application server and use JavaMail API to send Emails throu' the application....
In the J2EE Deploytool the SMTP server is set to "smtp.roltanet.com" provided by ISP....and by connecting to Roltanet we are able to send emails successfully...
But the problem is.. if i set the SMTP server other than Roltanet,then i get the following error....
"The exception is javax.mail.SendFailedException: Sending failed;
nested exception is:
javax.mail.SendFailedException: Invalid Addresses;nested exception is:
javax.mail.SendFailedException: 553 sorry, that domain isn't allowed to
be relayed thru this MTA (#5.7.1)"
But,I think there is a way in which,even though u are connected to say,Roltanet and use say, VSNL's SMTP server and also have an account on VSNL then, by supplying the VSNL's user id and password ...
VSNL's SMTP will allow to send emails...even though it is connected to the internet throu Roltanet....
Is there really a way through it can be done...throu Code or something....
Can any body help me out with the issue...any suggestion or code samples will suffice....

Java Mail does not provide SMTP functionality. As a result you have to specify a STMP server to use to send emails.

Can I setup multiple SMTP servers / emails with one IMAP servers on the iPh

All my email arrives at one place, on one IMAP server. However I have 2 email addresses, and need to use a different SMTP server for each one. How to setup this on the iPhone? This is what I considered so far:
1. I don't see how to enter multiple addresses for the same account, and map each address to a SMTP server.
2. If I create multiple accounts, I have to enter multiple IMAP server, and the iPhone doesn't let me enter the same IMAP server information for different accounts.
3. I could create a second account with a dummy IMAP/POP server, and a real SMTP server. But then most likely if I respond to mails that arrive on my IMAP server (1st account), Mail will always use my 1st email address when responding. Instead I'd like it to automatically pick as From the To address of the mail I am responding to (as the desktop Mail.app does).

If you have multiple SMTP servers available, you can select from one of the available SMTP servers for a particular account.
After you've entered the SMTP server for the first account when creating the 1st account and you've entered the SMTP server for a 2nd account when creating the 2nd account, you'll have both SMTP servers available to use with either or both accounts.

Alpine: multiple SMTP Servers & Trash folder

I want to use multiple smtp servers in alpine. I've set a main server via Setup->Configuration (see below) and added another imap Server via Setup->collectionLists. So reading mail is no problem, I can see the different servers / folders in the "Folder List" view (the added dots or slashes after the folder names are a minor problem...).
In order to send mail via the second server, I've added a rule via Setup->Rules->Roles, so when sending a message, the right smtp server corresponding to the folder where I'm in is chosen.
BUT alpine always postpones messages to the folder on the main server, even when the message is composed for the second server. The same applies for sent messages: they are always saved on the main server.
How do I tell alpine to save postponed/sent messages on the right server?

Yes, they're local folders (located in /Users/youruseraccount/Library/Mail/IMAP-account@domain), they're synced and display the contents of the folders on the server, so when you move some message from one folder to the other, the folders on the server will reflect this change.
Also, to select if you want to keep local copies of the messages or not, you can go to the Advanced properties of the IMAP account in Mail.
Can I get rid of them and just use Mail to display only what is actually on the server, in the structure it is on the server?

No, you can't get rid of them. Usually you can minimize them under a sort of earth globe icon.

Well we are trying to run a report without exactly specifying the name of reports server anywhere, e.g. in database or in form or anywhere else. Now if I do not supply a reports server name using RUN_REPORT_OBJECT, the error it displays is FRM-41211: Integration Error : SSL failure ... However if I specify the reports server name in the form, the reports run perfect. Also the name of reports server is specified in rwservlet.properties.
Now the question goes as follows:
Can I run my report from Form without specifying the name of the Reports server anywhere at all. This is so because either an in-process reports server should be picked or the one which is entered in rwservlet.properties should be pickec up by default. Please correct us if we are wrong. once we are through with it, we have to move to Oracle 10gR2 concept of reports server.

First things first:
1. You want to create a single payment document for multiple vendors. In such a case, you will not be able to use F110. You need to use F-53 or F-f8 in such a case. In the all the vendor masters, maintain the alternative payee with Description as "YOURSELF". There after, if you are using F-53, use FBZ5 to print the cheque in the name of alternative payee.
2. if you are using F110, multiple payment documents will be created for different vendors. In FBZP Config, you can assign the Payment Advise Form in the Payment Method Step in FBZP Config

How to create reports servers with the same name in two nodes in Reports

Greetings
We are migrating Oracle Application Server 10g (9.0.4) to a better hardware infrastructure with high availability. We want to provide 2 new Oracle Application Server 10g (9.0.4) in High availability and we want to avoid modify the existing forms and reports code, but the code is looking for a specific reports server name when calling reports, but I couldn't create the same reports server name in the both oas machines, I could create the reports server in only one node. I want to create a reports server with the same name in both nodes but it is not possible. I know that there is a procedure to do that in 10.1,2 (Note 437228.1, How to Create Two Reports Servers With the Same Name in the Same Subnet) but I couldn't find the equivalent procedure in 9.0.4.
Anybody kwows how to create a reports server with the same name in two nodes using 10g (9.0.4)

I applied the patch 4092150 on my oas 9.0.4.2 and I modified my rwnetwork.conf file changing the port to 14022 by following the note "How to Create Two Reports Servers With the Same Name in the Same Subnet? [ID 437228.1]" but I am facing the same error rep-56040 "server already exists in the network".
When I run osfind command I get the following information (My reports server is senarep and I want to create it on SNMMBOGOAS10):

First I will start by saying that this can be done by using named anchored
objects and registering them yourself in the name service. There is
documentation on how to do this. And by default you will get most of the
behavior you desire. When you do a lookup in the name service (BindObject
method) it will first look in the local partition and see if there is a
local copy and give you that copy. By anchoring the object and manually
registering it in the name service you are programmatically creating your
own SO without defining it as such in the development environment. BTW in
response to your item number 1. This should be the case there as well. If
your "mobile" object is in the same partition where the service object he is
calling resides, you should get a handle to the local instance of the
service object.
Here is the catch, if you make a bind object call and there is no local copy
you will get a handle to a remote copy but you can not be sure which one!
It end ups as more or less a random selection. Off the top of my head and
without going to the doc, I am pretty sure that when you register an
anchored object you can not limit it's visibility to "User".

They all should be started as windows service. Also I would like to have them look at different uifont.ali. The reason is that we want to have the same report run with different fonts in different languages. This way I can map the fonts in uifont.ali as I want.

I don't think this is possible with multiple reports servers with one Oracle 9iAS home. You will have to install multiple 9iAS, in different Oracle homes.
This also means that you have different URL's (port numbers) for the two environments.
I have used this configuration before to install a test and production environment on one web server. Changing the conf files, variables etc. in the test environment doesn't influence the production environment that way.

Multiple Informatica Repositories with the same name in the Repository Mgr

We need to have a single windows client machine with the Informatica client installed and have two different Linux servers with Infa server(version 811 shipped along with OBI Apps 795)
We will have the same repository in both dev and prod -- Oracle_BI_DW_Base
Can we open both the dev and prod repository on the same client machine?

Eventhough I think it is techincally not possible, even if it was I would not recommend doing this. I think this is asking for problems and you can wait for the day that somebody messes up your production system, thinking it is DEV.
I would use names like DEV_Oracle_BI_DW_Base and PRD_Oracle_BI_DW_Base, to clearly distinguish between the environments. But then again, I think Informatica forces you to use different names.

In my ADF bean, I am trying to access some users from ldap. I found there are two users with the same email in my console under "Users and Groups" tab.

Hi.
For some reason you have duplicates. Normally is something strange but it can occurs in heavy load / database corruptions or other situations.
You should contact a LDAP Administrator in order to find and fix the duplicate problem.

Need to generate multiple error files with rule file names during parallel data load

Is there a way that MAXL could generate multiple error files during parallel data load?
import database AsoSamp.Sample data
connect as TBC identified by 'password'
using multiple rules_file 'rule1' , 'rule2'
to load_buffer_block starting with buffer_id 100
on error write to "error.txt";
I want to get error files as this - rule1.err, rule2.err (Error files with rule file name included). Is this possible in MAXL?
I even faced a situation , If i hard code the error file name like above, its giving me error file names as error1.err and error2.err. Is there any solution for this?

Are you saying that if you specify the error file as "error.txt" Essbase actually produces multiple error files and appends a number?

Out of interest, though - why do you want to do this? The load rules must be set up to select different 'chunks' of input data; is it impossible to tell which rule an error record came from if they are all in the same file?
I have like 6 - 7 rule files using which the data will be pulled from SQL and loaded into Essbase. I dont say its impossible to track the error record.
Regardless, the only way I can think of to have total control of the error file name is to use the 'manual' parallel load approach. Set up a script to call multiple instances of MaxL, each performing a single load to a different buffer. Then commit them all together. This gives you most of the parallel load benefit, albeit with more complex scripting.
Even i had the same thought of calling multiple instances of a Maxl using a shell script. Could you please elaborate on this process? What sort of complexity is involved in this approach.? Did anyone tried it before?

SSM - Configure Multiple Webserver's with a Single Database Server

Hi,
I need to install SSM using the following system landscape: Distributed system using a single database server and two webserver's.
The system is configured to use the Microsoft Network Load Balancing and that's the reason why exist two webserver's. When the user put the URL, the connection can be done to the webserver 1 or webserver 2 (the Microsoft Network Load Balancing will manage that).
I was checking the install guide "NW CE 7_1 SP5 SQL Server Install Guide.pdf" but there is no reference to this system landscape. The only "similar" is for High Availability System using Microsoft Cluster Service (MSCS), but that's not what I need.
I was planning to do a distributed installation and in the database server I will install:
- the Database Instance of NetWeaver
- the Database components of SSM (PAS)
In the Webserver I will install:
- the SCS Instance of NetWeaver
- the Primary Application Instance of NetWeaver
- the Web components of SSM (PIP, etc...)
For a scenario of a single webserver and a single database server, this work just fine.
My questions are:
- how can I configure SSM to work in a scenario of two webserver's and a single database server?
- Should I install the same components in both WebServer's?
- Should I use the same instance number or a different one?
- It is possible to have two netweaver instance sharing the same database?

Not for the SCS but yes for application server (your Java instances)
The central services, SCS instance, are one per a SAP System. So you cannot install one on each Web Server and operate them simultaneously.
Given your database is also a single point of failure then I would suggest you install the SCS with it on the database server.
On each of the Web Servers install an application instance of SAP NW CE.
Since the instance are on different servers they can share the same instance number. It is not mandatory but it may make configuration easier. e.g. for the the webservice the port will not change.
There can only be one Interactive Publisher (PIP) running so this may as well also go on your database server.
The Pilot Application Server (PAS) there can be multiple of so install one on each Web Server.
See section 5.2.3 of Server Installation Guide SAP Strategy Management Release 7.0 Support Package 2 and higher for configuring SAP NW CE to point to the one instance on Interactive publisher.
See section 5.2.7 of Server Installation Guide SAP Strategy Management Release 7.0 Support Package 2 and higher for setting up the Web Service target in Interactive publisher this will need to use the virtual ip(or hostname) of your Network Load Balancer.

You can use multiple iTunes accounts on one iPod. Just note that you can only sync with one iTunes library/computer. However, yu can manage music among different computers. See:
