Problems occuring in dreamweaver cs3 when inputing text/images

Hi All
I am having troubles with my version of Adobe dreamweaver cs3. I am creating a newsletter and have my stemplate all layed out, but everytime i go to paste text from a word doc my table goes wrong. My pixle width is 650 it then increases when adding the information. I have also been having trouble with inserting pictures, i want some aligned left and some right. Everything is ok on screen in dreamweaver but when i go to view it on the web the pictures do not align the way i want them to. The colums also have a mind of there own and seem to constantly need me to retype their width value.
My newsletter is not too straight forward but i would have thought that dreamweaver would be able to cope with the way i have set it up. Because i studied the graphic side of design instead of the web side I have never been tought how to use dreamweaver in depth and have just picked it up myself.
Is there a setting somewhere that i have missed that might be causing it to do these things?
I hope someone can help me i have been struggling with this for months

Problem is:
Flash Player for IE11 (which is the worst browser ever developed - BAR NONE) is a Microsoft product, when it comes right down to it.
Adobe writes the base code and yes, they do collaborate on updates for it, but the gang in Redmond alter the plug-in and add "proprietary" code before embedding it, and at that point it's "their baby".
There are two (2) registry keys - 1 for 32 bit IE and the other for 64 bit IE, as well as a KB patch that prevent all but the most experienced Windows users from ever touching the Flash Player plug-in for IE. So there's NO WAY you could have done a clean install of the ActiveX plug-in in Windows 8. Unless you're an uber-geek, you can only update it through Windows Update.
WIn 8 is an abomination and IE11 made it worse. IE has always been the "problem child" of browsers, failing to handle CSS, Javascript, some PHP and most design "tweaks" that good webmasters can use with other browsers, trouble free.
I have IE8 on XP, 9 on VIsta, 11 on 7, 10 on 8 and 11 on 8.1... but they're all for testing only. I'd have to be out of my mind to ever think of using IE as my primary browser. ActiveX controls have to be disabled formost stuff and that opens millions of security holes in IE.
You've got a good video card and a decent sound card. It's a shame to waste them on a pile of garbage like IE, just because it came with Windows.

Problem with action script 3 make input text box and button....

Hi every one I am trying to make a family book using "Air for Android" with a simple search engin in the book
air for android only work with AS3,
the search function is to type a person's name and hit submit then go to a specific frame.
have a problem making below code to work in AS3 and hopefully one of you guys can lead me in the right direction to fix the issue.
Currently, I have an input text box and a button. When you type specific words into the input box and then hit the button it sends you to a specific frame.
(it work find in AS2 but not in AS3,)
Here is my current code that is placed on the main timeline, first frame:

My button that checks if the phrase is correct is called "submit" and my input box has an instance of "yourname".
My phrases that will be accepted in the input box are "name1" and "name2" which bring me to two different frames.
Basically, I'm having a problem with making this to work with AS3.

you should use the default option in the switch statement
that way yourname contains something not in one of the case statements it will go to the default bit and execute teh code there

Dreamweaver CS3 Not Displaying Some Images

Hi,
About a week ago, certain images that have always displayed
correctly within Dreamweaver started appearing as the "broken page"
icon. A table background image I just created today decided it was
going to act up as well. These images display fine in all the
browsers, and the web pages I'm designing look right. But not being
able to see these images within Dreamweaver makes designing very
difficult. Any ideas?
I am using Dreamweaver CS3 on a Mac Pro at work.

Text Input Field Jumps around or lags when inputting text but only with Firefox.

I normally will use Safari because even now while Firefox, there is a lag between what is typed and what appears on the screen. When I pull down a menu or try to add a bookmark, I have to click on the field at a certain time because the text field is moving side to side. I am unable to capture this effect and copy and paste below. Safari browser does not do this. Some of the sites require that I have Firefox or a more recent browser. I cannot run Google Chrome on my Mac because it is not Intel based. Thank you for your assistance.

I am having problems with my Dreamweaver CS3 installation

I called adobe for help and was connected to technical support. My issue is that I am unable to reinstall dreamweaver (CS3web premium) and the tech person told me that my cd was corrupt. His instruction was to drag all my adobe apps , which, apart from dreamweaver, worked fine, to the trash. when i attempted to reinstal all I got an error message, missing resources. At this point the tech person told me that I would have to upgrade as all of my app licences had been cencelled by dragging to trash.
This is a tremendoes disservice and if it represents adobe policy it will ultimately destroy adobe.

You receive an error message regarding missing resources when you try to install? To locate the exact source of your installation error I would recommend you review the installation logs. Problem on install Dreamweaver CS3 on Vista

Here is another solution if the first one doesnt work.

1. Start the Setup as usual and let it copy over a few files

The random hex-number differs on each system I found out. Now
Setup runs.
Let's hope I don't run into any other problems.
Make sure the syntax is exact when you make the java script
code
modification.

Other versions of Firefox worked as a Preview browser when testing a webpage in Dreamweaver. I'm using version 3.6.11. Is there a fix

Treating space as normal char when inputting text

In recording a demo, if I type in a sentence of 5 words, CP2
will use 5 slides to record the action, showing a caption "press
space bar" for three seconds per space typed between each word
pair. This makes the replaying of the sentence awkward. Usually I
have to delete from each of these slides the "press space bar"
object and shorten the mouse object that follows. Are there better
ways to make the typing smooth, without pausing between
words?

Nicknm, it should not be doing that. did you record you demo
using the simulation mode? check your preferences also.

Dreamweaver CS3. problem with installation

I have some strange problems with installation of Dreamweaver
CS3: when I'm running setup -- it shows "initialization" window and
then shows message that at one time I can install only one adobe
produc. But there is no unfinished installations...
Also this setup adds it's button to "Add or remove
programs"...
What should I do?

Dreamweaver CS3 FTP problem

Hi,
I am unable to connect to my remote server using my new copy
of Adobe Dreamweaver CS3
When I test the FTP connection I get an error message
I can connect without problems to my remote server using
Microsoft Frontpage and the exact same FTP address, login, and
password - so it is not the server which is at fault
Things I have tried without success
My hosting company told me to either leave the host directory
box blank or put a / in it. Neither of these options work
I have tried retyping my login details carefully.
I have tried checking the ‘use passive FTP’ box
I have tried putting a colon and the port number after the
FTP address
I have tried writing the FTP address with and without the
ftp:// symbol
I have tried setting the FTP time out preferences at 60secs,
30 secs, 120 secs, 10 secs, and 5 secs
I am wondering what else to try, and how I can check whether
or not the software is being blocked by a firewall (in Norton for
example - my windows firewall is switched off) as I do remember
getting a message about this during the install. Or would it be a
good idea to uninstall and reinstall the software?
I would be most grateful for any further information or
advice.

What is the error message?
Here's my experience.
1. A firewall (any firewall, including but not restricted to
SP2) may be
blocking your attempts. It's best to completely disable them
while you are
troubleshooting this.
2. The FTP host field should usually always be filled in like
this -
''www.domain.com'' (without the quotes) and with NO leading
protocol (e.g.,
http:// or ftp://) (of course, you can always
use the IP address, too).
3. Enabling Passive FTP (usually the default for 3rd party
FTP programs) in
your Remote site definition can often be the gating factor in
a balky FTP
connection.
Make sure you use those guidelines and usually your
connection problem will
be solved.
By the way, if you find that #1 allows the connection to
proceed, then you
have to figure out what it is about your firewall that is
blocking
transmissions. CS3 allows you to fine tune firewall support
via the
Remote site definition, but you may also need to do a very
simple thing of
permitting CS3 to make outgoing connections in the Firewall
configuration.

Facing Problems with the Installation of Dreamweaver CS3

Hello,
I am facing some problem while installing Dreamweaver CS3 ..
tried number of times but to no avail.. every time the same error
message pops up "You can only install one product at a time. Please
complete the other installation before attempting to install Adobe
Dreamweaver CS3"
I am pretty sure I am not installing any other Adobe product
in parallel. I already have Adobe Flash CS3 on my system and its
working pretty fine for me but I am not able to get around with
Dreamweaver. Please let me know what I need to do to run this
software on my system successfully.

After i've installed the cute ftp program an error has occured - "Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
Deleting the WinFileCache-.... didn't worked.
What should i do?

Does CuteFTP work on it's own when DW is closed?
I too, use CuteFTP in conjunction with DW and have for many years and have never had such a problem.
Are you doing anything specific in Cute FTP when DW crashes?

Dreamweaver cs3 crashes after spry update

I used the spry updater tonight and DW has been crashing all
night. crashes 90% of the time when putting or getting files and
about 50% when trying to save a file. Any idea how to roll back?

Searched in Adobe Knowledge Base and found useful TechNote on
Re-creating the Dreamweaver user configuration folder on Windows
(TechNote 36bda422)
Carried out guidance and problem solved. Previously crashed
when selecting text - now you can see app is thinking about
crashing as there is a pause, but now gets over issue and gets on
with things.
This prompted me to revisited the preceding advice on this
page re Diana and deleting the WinFile Cache. I then realised that
I had deleted my previous DW 8 file sitting under the Macromedia
directory rather than DW 9 under Adobe.
Not sure if it was because I had rectified the problem by
deleting the whole dir iaw TechNote or whether it was just the
cache file, but either way one of them did the trick. Stable for
now, but watch this space.

ColdFusion Login Wizard: How do you access this in Dreamweaver CS3

The 'ColdFusion MX 7 Extensions'
(CFMXDreamWeaverExtensions.mxp) could be installed for 'Dreamweaver
MX 2004' using the 'Adobe Extension Manager'. This then gave access
to the 'Coldfusion Login Wizard' available under
'Commands/Coldfusion Login Wizard'.
However, the file 'CFMX7DreamWeaverExtensions.mxp' generates
the error 'This version of the 'CFMX7 Extensions' extension is not
compatible with Dreamweaver CS3 when installing in Dreamweaver CS3.
I have downloaded 'dwmx2004_extensions_for_cfmx7.mxp' from
http://www.adobe.com/support/coldfusion/downloads.html
but this doesn't work!
I cannot find an equivalent .mxp file on the Adobe website or
explanation anywhere despite exhaustive searching!
Any help will be very gratefully received!
