Problems on Installing SolMan 7 on Win2k3 x64.... Instance Starting

Hello Everyone.
I'm pretty new in SAP Installations, just finished the ADM 110 (ECC 6.0 Installation).
Now going on to test it in in a VM under Win2k3 x64 with MaxDB.
I think I did everything needed to install the SolMan.
We already have a R/3 System here, but not using any of it. I have a clean installation of Windows and first thing i wanted to do, is to install the SolMan.
Now it's hanging on Phase 31 of 51 reporting that it cannot start the Instance (here, its B01).
Here a preview of the sapinst_dev.log:

My Sap Management Console says it is started, only the Dispatcher takes a while to connect to the Message-Server, but after a few seconds, everything seems to be fine.
I tried to restart the machine, restart the installation (continue) but still nothing.
I hope I provided enough info, so someone can help me.

Hi Jan Selucky,
Looks like you are having trouble with your virtual memory settings. In your VM make sure you have set your virtual memory (Swap memory) correctly. SAP recommeds 1 times RAM plus 8 GB for your virtual memory settings. For ex: if you are having 4GB of RAM in your windows virtual machine you need to set your virtual memory setting to 12GB.
Make the corrections if you havent doen this and restart the installation.
Revert back incase you need more help.

My pc has the next caracteristics:
Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise 64 bits
12 GB de RAM
300 GB de HDD
additionally I change the pagination to 14286 to 18430.

I found that the problems was, because the installer has been try run the service of MaxDB, well I solved this issue run manualy the service MaxDB.
I left the steps for run the service.
1. write in services.msc in the run icon
2. Look the service MaxDB:"Name of Instance"
3. Right clic and start
4. Try again with the installer of SOLMAN.

Problem after installing 6.03 iTunes- Will not start up...please help!!!!!

I recently gave into the decision of installing the new iTunes update to 6.03 Everything was working fine, but I thought I should upgrade. Now I cannot start iTunes. When I click on the icon it shows an hourglass for about 2 seconds and then goes away. Ive tried reinstalling, but to no avail. If anybody knows what to do it'd be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks for all of your support! J

I am also having a problem opening iTunes after installing the latest version, 6.03. Every now and then, it will open after I do some troubleshooting, but the problem persists the next time I try to open it. Once I opened iTunes in safe mode and then restarted in the normal mode and iTunes started properly. Another time, I took off the iTunes Help application from my start up items under my account and I was able to open iTunes. Another time, I opened iTunes from the actual data file and I was able to open iTunes. But as soon as I close iTunes and try to open it up again the next time around, it does not respond. What is going on? How can I get rid of 6.03 and go back to the previous version without losing my music?

I am getting error code 0xC0000005 while installing fresh copy of windows 8.1 x64
When the installation process arrives at 87% every time I get the error code saying that installation can not be done.
I can not install windows 8.1 x64 version on my laptop.
please tell me how to solve the problem and install windows 8.1 x64 version on my laptop.
I tried with dvd-rom and usb as well, but the result is same..just stuck at 87%...can not be installed....
how to overcome it...please...

I see that you are getting an error code, when you try to install Windows 8.1 from USB or DVD. I am happy to assist.
Just to clarify, you are using a standalone Windows installation disk, you are not using a factory recovery image. Is that correct?
Have you run the hardware diagnostics on your notebook? HP Notebook PCs - Testing for Hardware Failures (Windows 8)
What operating system was on the system before, and have you made a set of recovery media, for your original factory installation?
Please let me know what you find.

I tried to decrease the parallel processes from 3 to 1 and I increased the variable shared_pool_size in the file init.ora from 67MB (proposed by the installer) to 350MB, but I get the same error.
Any idea?

Now the import has finished.
After rebooting the database couldn't really start (although the services were up!).

SAPinst getting stuck at "collecting JDK's" while installing SOLMAN 4.0 SR2

Hi Guys,
I am trying to install SOLMAN 4.0 SR2, and the sapinst gets is stuck in the phase "Define Parameters" and showing collecting JDK's for the last 2 hours. I have tried stopping the install and restarting it, have tried deleting the whole TMKSVR00 library and reinstalling it and restarting the install, but still no luck...
I am running the latest PTF's for V5R3 from Jan 19th..

Problem solved ...Kept on trying restarting the thing....after the 8th try..it restarted and went past that phase....took all the input and is right now running the install...

Installing 10g on Win2K3 Server

I have been trying to Install 10g on Win2K3 server logged in as Administrator.
I seem to get through the installation OK until the Database Creation stage where it fails with the following:
At Java.lang.thread.run(Thread.java.534)
it fails with
DIM-00019 create service error
OS1388 new member coiuld not be added to a local group because the member has the wrong account type.
On clicking OK it then fails with
ORA - 12560 : TNS protocol adapter error
and stops.
UNLIKE others in another thread, when I re-boot the services appear to be running but browsing to the em fails and attempts to logon to SQLPlus fail with the same 12560 Protocol error.
I have also tried to create a database using the assistant, but that fails in exactly the same way.
Please help.....

CHKDSK fails on fresh install of Windows 7 x64 on mid-2009 MBP with SSD

There was an earlier post about this that has been archived prematurely that I will reproduce below. The main issue is a flaw in the Windows 7 x64 CHKDSK of the SSD drive in the mid-2009 MBP= 5,2. With fresh OSX installs, bootcamp 3.1, Windows 7 x64 all updates, the CHKDSK operation checks files at about 1 per second in stage 4 of 5, verifying file data.

Hello, I have been having filesystem problems on my Windows 7 partition since the HDD related firmware update (the latest Performance update) was released and installed onto this mid 2009 MacBook Pro.
The HDD is a 500 GB 7200 RPM model, but it never gave me any troubles under OS X before the "fix" and I know other users had intermittent problems with the HDD on their MacBook Pro's related to the HDD making noises and pausing.
The fix was released, I installed it and I started seeing my first problem in Windows 7 x64 a few days after... I cleanly shut the OS down, but when I booted it back it asked me to perform a coherency check to the Filesystem... I thought that the problem was related to the fact that I was using the RC1 build of Windows 7... although that problem never manifested itself in the weeks before the Performance Update (HDD firmware fix) was installed and Windows 7 x64 RC1 had been on there and used frequently.
I recently purchased Windows 7 retail a few days ago and after a bit of trouble-free operation I started having problems again... always shutting the PC down carefully and I was asked to run the CHKDSK utility at boot twice already.
What to do?

I have a different experience. I installed Windows 7 before the "performance update 1.0" came out. I actually experienced the chkdsk launch problem with Windows 7. I had done repartitioning and clean-install several times but cannot solve the problem. So I tried to install XP and Vista on my MBA (Mid 2009 with SSD) and found that these two OS doesn't introduce such problem.
To be honest, I'm not sure which caused such problem, Windows 7, a bootcamp driver, or EFI. But I'm sure that CHKDSK in Windows 7 has an obvious bug that needs to be patched (memory leak and maybe this problem as well). So now I'm using Windows Vista SP2. And I'm happy with Vista SP2 (seems to become faster and stable now).

Black screen with blinking cursor when installing win 7/vista x64 osx 10.6

i am using bootcamp 3 to install windows 7/vista x64 on osx 10.6.6.when i select install mac reboots and then all i get is a black screen with white cursor.
i have created a 20gb partition with disk utility in fat32 and i had installed windows successfully when i was on osx 10.5.i tried erasing and creating new partition but same problem.
any help will be appreciated

ICloud Control Panel 2.1 will not install on Windows 7 x64

iCloud Control Panel 2.1 will not install on Windows 7 x64. If I try the to run the install from the Apple Software Updater it the iCloud 2.1 crashes and I get a message that suggests I do a download only and they run it locally. I do that and the install i.e. the exe file just seems to never start even if I try to "Run as Admin"
I go int o task manager and there is no instance of the install running.
What is the issue/work around to this?

I didn't try creating a new user profile. Not sure I completely understand what you're suggesting. I dont't want a new/different profile. I just want to be able to install the update.

Problem with booting windows 7 (x32 & x64) on GX623

Hello
I have a small problem, I installed on may msi GX623 notebook windows 7 x32 and I see the loading screen for 4 minutes (picture), can I do something to speed up boot? I don’t want every time wait 4 minutes that he’s booting only.
And I have problems to install windows x64 (vista & seven) on my notebook, after complete install and restarting of windows x64 he is not booting. The system hangs at the loading screen
I am already updated my bios and firmware

Adobe AIR won't install - Windows 7 Ultimate x64

Well, I asked myself and verified that I am allowed to install any programs I wish to at will.
I even toyed with adding extra permissions for the .exe and shortcut [see below], to no avail.
I also checked your Adobe AIR installation troubleshooter section before posting. Unfortunately, none of the solutions 100% applied to my circumstances or OS, yet I tried a few anyway and had it confirmed by a Windows dialogue that I need not have bothered as it assured me that they weren't applicable in my case.
I found another thread like mine where somebody suggested creating a shortcut with an additional -uninstall parameter added to the .exe path. It didn't work.
I used Microsoft's Installation Cleanup Utility and that didn't work to "un-confuse" the installer either.
Do you have any more suggestions?
Adobe AIR came with the HTC Sync program for my phone, which appears to have dependencies on it where it won't completely work without it.

I would like to say thanks to artrose54 and to playswithtech for their thoughtful responses to my problem. I finally figured out which number I was to delete, and then, having made a copy of the number in notepad, deleted it. Upon a restart to my computer I then was able to download adobe air 2.7. I found that I still could not download the shutterfly express uploader, however; so I applied the same approach. I went looking for the number in the registry that corresponded to the uploader. I deleted it; restarted the computer; returned to shutterfly; and then was able to download the express uploader. I am sure I will find other uses for Adobe Air in the future.

Here is the fix that worked for me,
You need to go to start run and type in regedit
now press ctrl+f for find and type in "adobe air" without the quotes then click find next
the first entry it finds is the one I deleted, it is a long number on left side of screen that is greyed just right click and delete it
I then rebooted the computer and ran adobe air installation
and it worked with out a problem
The adobe air log file really doesn't tell u anything but where it tried to find the setup.msi file
but it doesn't exist because of the registry entry that needs to be deleted which is what causes the error
If u r not sure of editing the registry then maybe you know someone that can help you
I hope this helps you out it worked for me
