Problems organizing pictures

I have a problem, I am sure that we all have or face. I have a iMac as well as my MacBook Pro, plus iPhones Apple Tvs and iPads. I use lightroom 5 for photo organization (yes I love the new lighroom) but the common problem I face is that I can never sync anything between my iMac and MacBook. It is extremely stressful using an external drive to take from computer to computer. I was wondering if there is a way to organize and sync your lightroom catalog as well as all your pictures across all devises. I have head of Mosaic but I don't know much about it. Anyone have a solution that will sync changes as well as pictures?

No then you wouldn't have access. But once you setup a network between the 2 Mac's you can then copy the catalog back and forth between the 2 keeping both in sync with one another.
Yes you can also do that with a external drive but using the network, LAN, that is already setup in your home to share your internet connection is much easier.
The only problem with that is you have to have the same version of LR installed on both Mac's. Adobe changes the LR catalog structure from version to version. I'm not sure if they did this between V4 & V5 as I haven't bought V5 yet. But they did with V3 to V4. So if you have V4 on one system and V5 on the other you might not be able to copy it over.

Problem displaying picture stored in mySQL

Hi, i just have got problem displaying picture stored in database as BLOB and presented on JSP over servlet. Below is my code i am using to upload file into database, than download it and display again. The result is the picture can not draw inself and there is always only empty picture space on the web page i am displaying. Please help me to find why it is not working, thanx.

Problem downloading pictures

I have moved pictures from my phone to Windows Live Photo Gallery many times. Today I tried on both phones (mine and my husband's) and did not get the pictures--just iconic preloads. The screen "says" it has downloaded the pictures, gives the number in each group but they are not there. What happened? Thank you for any help. Jo

Your topic is saying one thing - +"Problem downloading pictures"+ yet your post is saying something different - +"it just won't show any pictures."+
Which is it? Nevermind. You can't download what you can't see.
Sounds more like a browser issue rather than an OS. Check your browsers mapping settings to see which browser plugins are selected to open photos.
Check the Content tab also. Make sure *Load images automatically* is selected. I do not use Safari or Camino. Unsure if they have this setting but it's worth a check.

I have problems exporting pictures from iPhoto

I have problems exporting pictures from iPhoto.
Every time I try to export a picture, iPhoto closes itself.
I don't even get to the point where I can decide how I want to export it.
Can anybody help me?

Problem transferring pictures from camera memory card to computer.

Problem transferring pictures from my camera memory card to my computer. When asked where to save them, it only gives me the option of saving to "Snapfish". There is no option to save the pictures to my computer???

I have a new HP Photosmart 7529e all in one. I put my memory card in the slot but the printer screen does not show my computer as a destination. I'm using Windows 7. Nothing at the computer end acknowlages that the card is in the printer slot. How do I transfer pictures from the card to the computer?

Has anyone experienced problems sending pictures on Imessage today? Even mail has been taking a long time to receive. I work near newark airport.

Last I checked you could not access RoadRunner outgoing mail servers from outside of the RoadRunner network (i.e., the AT&T EDGE network). You can use cwmx.com as your outgoing mail server, with no ID or password, and that will work while you are on EDGE (but now when you are on WiFi).
As for junk mail, that is the scourge of the internet. Many people have many solutions - I can share with you mine. I had all my email forwarded to a free GMail account. GMail has amazingly efficient SPAM filters, and it has cut down my spam 99%. You can configure your account on the iPhone using the "Other" shortuct in such a way that emails seem to come from your Roadrunner account. The added bonus is that the GMail outgoing server works on both EDGE and WiFi, so you dont have to worry about where you are at.

Problems sending pictures on mms (BB8320)

Before i had no problems sending pictures in mms. now all of a sudden i cant seem to send any picture mms. everytime i try to send one, it shows a clock or something left of the message and doesnt send. i hit resend but nothing happens. ive tried reducing the size, but no picture will send no matter what the size is. im really in a jam, hope you guys can help me. thanks in advance.

Look in your Options > Advanced > Service Books. Do you see the two [mms] service books, transport and client? If so, delete them both. Then...

Having problems send pictures on iphone 5

Having problems send pictures on my iphone 5 any ideas what is wrong. I just got it the other day.

Make sure MMS Messaging is on in Settings > Messages.

I've resolved my problem now. It wasn't iphoto: preferences:@ that I needed but iphoto:preferences:general where there is the option to choose email for sending photos. Can't believe I missed that before.

J'ai un problème avec les mails contenant une ou des photos envoyés et reçus de mon IPAD3 vers un autre IPAD3.
Lorsque j'envoie un mail avec une photo prise dans un de mes albums, le destinataire ne reçoit pas la bonne photo sur son IPAD alors que le même mail ouvert sur un PC ouvre la bonne photo. La photo qui s'ouvre sur son IPAD est une des photos de ses albums a lui.
L'inverse est identique,si on m'envoie un mail je n'ouvre pas la bonne photo sur mon IPAD.
Je connais plusieurs personnes ayant le même problème avec leur IPAD3.
Que puis je faire ?

I have an email problem with picture sent and received from on my IPAD3 to an other IPAD3.
When I send an email with a picture from one of my albums, the receiver don't receive /open the good picture on his IPAD. But in a PC the good picture has received. The picture opened is one of his albums.
The opposite is the same, when I receive an email with picture from an IPAD, a wrong picture is opened.
I know some people with the same problem.
What can I do ?

I am having the same problem and it is even bigger.
When opening a 1-page PDF in iBooks and sending it via mail it is sent inline as preview, but the recipient cannot open the file anymore. Also on iPad and iPhone there is no "open in" possible.
Somehow the mail app does destroy the file. What is going wrong?

Organizing pictures in events

Is there a way to delete duplicate pictures in events once you have organized them or put them into an event>

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Just drag the photo into iPhoto's trash bin and empty via the iPhoto menu.
Remember if you delete from an event they are gone for good. If deleted from an album it's only removed from that album.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

Organized pictures an hour ago, and now they're gone

I'm so confused.
An hour ago I was going through my photos in iPhoto, organizing them into events. I quit iPhoto and did other stuff.
Then I reopened iPhoto ... and it told me it couldn't find my Library and asked if I wanted to start a new one. None of my pictures showed up in the Library. I tried Import, thinking maybe I could find the iPhoto library that had my pictures in it, but it wouldn't open the only one I could find, which was called Library.iPhoto.
I can't find any of my pictures anywhere, not even by searching for them. What happened?

It sounds like iPhoto lost the link to the iPhoto Library package. It is located in your Pictures folder. If iPhoto make a new library it probably is there also and named iPhoto Library_1. Check the Pictures folder to see if the library is there.
If it is, check it's size via the Finder to make sure it contains your photos. Then launch iPhoto with the Option key depressed and, when asked, opt to Choose Library. Navigate to the Pictures folder and select the library.
If that still doesn't help, try the three fixes below in order as needed:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library. Select all options.
2 - rebuild the library using iPhoto Library Manager as follows:

1 -Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 -Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your User/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File->Rebuild Library menu option
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: It may take some time to create the new library if you have a lot of photos.
3 - start over with a new library and import the Originals folder from your original library as follows:
Creating a new library while preserving the Events from the original library.
Move the existing library folder to the desktop.
Open the library package like this.
Launch iPhoto and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
Drag the Originals folder from the iPhoto Library on the desktop into the open Photo window
This will create a new library with the same Events as the original library if you have the Finder checkbox unchecked in the Events preference pane.

Problem with pictures in iPhoto '09 on a Mac

After a recent download of travel pictures numbering over 1,000, every so often a few pictures will split and have normal color on half but the other half is very light. Sometimes when these thumbnails are opened the color is just fine but I end up replacing them from my original SD card from my camera. I have no idea what is causing that to happen. The only thing I can relate it to is that it started happening after downloading 1,000 more pictures. The total number of pictures in my iPhoto '09 library is 9,275. Does anyone know what the problem is and how it can be fixed? My Mac's operating system is OS X Maverick 10.9.4 and the processor speed is 3.06 GHz; Intel Core 2 Due; Memory: 4GB 1067 MHz DDR3. iPhoto '09, version 8.1.2 (424).

Thanks for the 2 suggestions. I rebuilt the iPhoto database but, unfortunately, that did not correct the defect in the problem images. Then I ran Etrecheck and here are the results:
